Another one of my favorite genres: mafia or crime families.

Empire can be read as a standalone – I hadn’t read Elude before this – but reading Elude first might help you understand the back story.

After reading Empire, I still can’t decide who I feel more for, Sergio or Val. They’re both trapped in their lives – in different ways – that are due to their families. There’s so many things that happen because of who they each are or the people in their lives.

Great read! Now I must go read Elude and Empire again!

The Rule Book kinda reminded me of The Devil Wears Prada because she was the Second Assistant and the First Assistant was a total dillhole. But that’s where the similarities end.

Lainey is every one of us. Awkward, nervous, argues with herself internally and has a habit of putting her foot in her mouth. But oddly enough, Brogan is interested in that. Because Lainey forces him out of his orderly, tight, ruled bubble.

Brogan makes me think he is part geeky nerd with all his rules and orderly-ness. But then his tattoos and his unconventional dog belie that.

Lainey balances Brogan out perfectly and I think Lainey’s attitude is what attracts Brogan. She’s so different and carefree than his orderly, anal self.

Great, funny read! Can’t wait for more Rule Breakers!

Everywhere and Every Way was a funny, thoughtful read. That I may (or may not) have read at work today… But I had to!

Morgan is like a interior design coordinator to the stars. She is the intermediary between the client and the construction company. Morgan is very good at her job and makes sure the best contractor in the Harrington area, Pierce Brothers Construction, builds her clients’ vision.

Caleb is just trying to keep his family’s legacy alive. His father puts in a stipulation in his will that Caleb must live and run the company with his brothers and turn a profit for a year.

Definitely a series I will be looking forward to more of. There are more stories with Dalton, Tristan and even Brady. And some of the women in the town.

Baseball books and baseball movies are always my guilty pleasure.

I love me some Tyler! And this story! I’m not the daughter of a presidential candidate but I truly feel for Charlie and how she has to live under the microscope. And how she tries to be the perfect daughter and how stressful that can be; trying not to disappoint anyone and live up to their expectations.

A great sports, New Adult that is just truly a great story. Not suspenseful or drama-filled, just a good, straight story.

Every ounce of composure I gathered inside the bathroom left me as soon as I stepped foot into his office again. Mason stood, leaning against the wall adjacent to the bathroom door. He’d removed his black suit jacket, and was wearing a crisp white button down. His tie had been removed. I could see the definition of his biceps and his hardened abs through his shirt.

He stared down at me hungrily as he prowled toward me. My eyes widened for a split second as he came closer, and in response, I took a few steps backwards until I felt my back against the wall. Other events make this story completely stand out from other older brother’s best friend/little sister romances. It’s almost soap opera worthy. Every time you start to think everything is going great for Mason & Jill, something comes up to screw it up.

I absolutely loved the secondary characters! And I can’t wait to read Closed Heart which is the story of Jackson and Elyse, whom we meet in The Manhattan Series.

I won’t say what happens, just know it’s a doozy. And something that is very tragic to go through – as I have been through it twice personally.

At Mady’s lowest point, she meets Max. Or rather Max meets her. And he is exactly what she needs at this point in her life. He’s kind, smart, thoughtful and just a generally good guy. And he is a HUGE help to Mady in this trying time in her life. He listens, cares, and is just there for her when it seems like no one else is.

I loved this book. It was emotional, sweet, heart-wrenching and just a very insightful book. Max is the perfect balm to soothe Mady’s tortured soul.

Masen and Booth have quite the history. They’ve loved each other for years – even after they’ve been apart and involved with other people. Masen has loved Booth since she was 16, but events happen and she pushes Booth away when she needs him the most.

I will admit in reading the book’s synopsis, I wasn’t too excited because I thought there would be cheating since Booth and Masen were both involved with other people. But I’m so glad I read it anyway! There’s no cheating and the book was just fantastic!

C.C. Wood is one of the few paranormal writers I will read. And Don’t Wake the Dead and The Wraith Files is proving to be no exception.

In reading this book, it reminded me of the Charley Davidson series but then went so much further! I love Teri, Zoe and Malachi (I’ve always loved that name). Teri is the ghost I want to have if I ever become someone who sees dead people. She’s the devil on your shoulder ALL THE TIME! Although I talk enough to myself now so I don’t think it would be any different with a Teri – except I might be more entertained.

I can’t wait to see how the rest of the crew and Zoe and Malachi evolve as the series progresses. Definitely add this one to the TBR!!
