Book 13 in the USA Today Bestselling Impossible Series—Can be read as a standalone.

A man with a broken heart…

The agony of losing the woman I love to another Dominant has left me dead inside. Over the last two years, sex has become my drug of choice to cope with the loss. I know I’m too broken to ever love again, but that won’t stop me from trying to fuck my pain away.

A woman with a painful past…

I’m not interested in intimacy, but I am interested in sex. As a BDSM romance novelist, I need to explore the world of kink for my books. The power exchange is meaningless; nothing more than research. Until I meet him. The powerful Dom won’t relent until he breaks down all my walls, including the ones that protect my ravaged heart.

Bound together by lust and danger…

Chloe Martin is a BDSM romance author by night and an investigative journalist by day. When the latter brings her to the New York unit of the FBI to research the Latin Kings, she never expects her two careers to collide. The agent she’s shadowing—Dexter Scott—is also a Dominant, and he’s interested in helping with her research in the field and in the bedroom.

But Chloe’s story on the Latin Kings puts her in the line of fire, and Dex’s protective—and possessive—instincts kick in. Can he let go of his pain and find his happily ever after? Or will the danger that surrounds them steal his second chance at love?

“Your safe word is red,” Dex told me. “Can you remember that?”

“Of course I can.” A hint of my indignation returned. Did he really think I was so dim that I couldn’t remember a simple safe word?

The pressure of the crop beneath my chin increased, tipping my head back farther and forcing me up onto my toes.

“Don’t be so sure. I’m going to take you so high, you’ll forget your own name. But don’t forget that one word.”

I wanted to say that I doubted his arrogant assertion. No Dom had ever sent me into subspace. I might play the role of a sub for my scenes, but I never truly submitted.

But something deep within me whispered that I’d already lost. I’d made the mistake of engaging in a power play with him, and I’d ceded to his will. I’d thought I was fully in control of the scene, but what had seemed like small changes—the blindfold, the gentle caresses of the crop instead of painful strikes, his low, firm commands rather than barked orders—had made me come undone.

“Good girl,” he said again before I could gather my wits enough to formulate a flippant response.

“I didn’t say anything,” I protested weakly. I’d done nothing to earn his praise.

The crop tenderly traced the line of my jaw. I suddenly wished he’d touch me with his fingertips instead. My teeth sank into my lower lip as I bit back a plea for him to put his hands on me.

“You didn’t have to say anything,” he told me in that same smooth, soothing tone. “And you don’t have to fight me. I can tell you’re trying to resist. Submit.”

“I can’t,” I whispered.

“Yes, you can. You just don’t want to. But I’m not giving you a choice. Your only way out of this is your safe word.”

A beat of silence passed. He was giving me the opportunity to escape.

But I said nothing. I sealed my fate.

“Excellent. You’ve pleased me, Chloe.” The smooth leather traced the swell of my breasts again, and I arched into him as carnal sensation overwhelmed me. “That feels good, doesn’t it?”

I moaned. A bite of pain nipped at me as the crop slapped the top of my breast.

“I want a coherent answer,” he prompted, his voice lilting with arrogant amusement. A twin hit landed on my other breast, chastising me.

“Yes,” my shy admission was barely audible.

“Louder. And address me with respect.” The crop snapped against my sensitive inner thigh, and I cried out at the unexpected sting. With my sight taken, I couldn’t predict where the blows would land. It heightened my physical senses, making the relatively light hits inflict sensation that went deeper than my flesh. An odd tingling raced across my mind along with the sparks that danced across my skin. Thoughts turned hazy, and for a moment I floated.

Then the crop fell on my thighs again, snapping against one and then the other in rapid succession. I squealed and tried to close my legs, only to be reminded that they were held open by the spreader bar. My sound of protest transformed into a husky moan.

“I asked you a question,” his voice threaded through my mind. “Tell me this feels good. Tell me you like pleasing me.”

“Yes,” my voice seemed detached from my consciousness, leaving my lips without thought. “Yes, it feels good.”

“Yes, Sir,” he corrected me with another, sharper slap against my thigh. My abused flesh throbbed with a delicious burn, the warmth spreading up into my pussy.

“Yes,” I said more clearly. “It feels good, Sir.”

The crop suddenly pressed against my labia, stroking the wet folds. My head dropped back on a long sigh as pleasure flooded my mind.

“You mean it this time,” he said, his voice deep with satisfaction. “You called me Sir before because you thought it sounded like one of your romance novels. But this is the real thing, princess. A good Dom earns his sub’s respect.” He continued to stroke me with the crop, and my clit pulsed in need.

“I’m going to hit your clit, and you’re going to come for me,” he informed me. “But you’re going to ask me for it like a good girl. When we started, you demanded that I crop you. Do you want to try that request again?”

I whined my wordless resistance as a small part of me clung on to my final shreds of control.

He tapped the crop against my pussy lips, the light slap a promise of how he would stimulate my aching clit.

“We both know you want to come. I want it, too. I want you to give me a nice, big orgasm. Your pleasure is mine. Your body is under my control. I want to hear you admit it, to both of us. This is submission, princess. And you were made for it.”

His low, confident words wrapped around me like a caress even more erotic than the touch of the crop on my pussy. It was deeper than physical pleasure; it called to my soul.

I let out a blissful sigh, my entire body softening as I gave everything to him.

“That’s it,” he urged. “Surrender. Beg me for your orgasm.”

“Please make me come, Sir.”

Hero is a hot read full of suspense and danger and sexy times.

Chloe is doing research into the Latin Kings gang and is able to tag along with an FBI agent, thanks to her friend Carina and her husband Kennedy.  Chloe is also able to do research on BDSM for her romance novel career as well.

Dex is an FBI agent who is also a Dominant who wants to “help” Chloe in her submission research. And he wants to keep her safe from her own inquisitive nature that gets her into trouble.

This was a great read that kept you guessing and intrigued as to if Dex would dominate Chloe.

No cliffhanger, only hard-earned unexpected love.

And angst.

What is it about this guy?

On paper, he’s one hundred percent wrong for me. His e-mails are equal parts annoying and funny.

Okay, more funny than annoying. More like refreshing. Different. Exciting.

But as I stand next to him now, he’s giving me head-to-toe tingles, and I find myself dwelling on his e-mails.

Meet smart, sexy career girl and New York snob, Charli Richards. She has everything except happiness until the day she meets Layton Griffin. It’s a random encounter on an airplane; it couldn’t mean anything, right?

Layton isn’t even remotely close to who Charli sees herself hooking up with . . . ever. Her mom and best friend agree he’s not for her, but he makes her feel something exciting, awakens her world.

But then Layton changes, going to great lengths for Charli to see him for who he really is.

Will those changes bring them closer together, or will she never be able to see him in the same way again?

“Cheers.” My seatmate good-naturedly tipped his glass toward me. He wasn’t going to leave me alone.

I took a long gulp and looked back at my computer screen.

“Do you like working for them?”

I tugged at my turtleneck; it was so freaking hot all of a sudden. My nosy neighbor’s face had a slight sheen to it, clearly from being hot, and now his warmth was seeping into my space.

“I do. They’re a growing company and . . . I’ve made great strides there.”

What the heck? Why was I even answering him? Because he asked, and if I was honest, it was the nicest anyone had been to me in months.

Furthermore, why did I sound like I was on an interview? Or an infomercial?

He was kind—I could tell—and his smile was gentle and calm, his eyes like warm coffee with just the right amount of cream swirling through it. I turned a little in my seat to face him and my knee brushed his thigh. I let my gaze travel his Beastie Boys T-shirt until I settled on his computer.

Playing on it was a rom-com, one I’d never seen before, but Katie What’s-her-nameall stunning, shiny hair, celebrity mom, perfect lifewas front and center. Her arms were full of shopping bags and she was wearing a big grin on her perfect face as she walked down a city street.

“You don’t strike me as the romantic comedy type.” I felt my eyebrow lift. I wasn’t sure if I was teasing him or myself as the question floated from my mouth.

He laughed. It was soothing and comforting like a coffee-and-Kahlua on a cold night, and warm like the sun on the first few days of summer.

I allowed my eyes to close and imagined he looked like somebody else—not someone else totally, but just different. Fit, not slender but muscular. He still had the same gracious smile and inviting eyes, but he wasn’t wearing a music T-shirt in my imagination. Maybe a Henley? And dark-wash jeans instead of the regular everyday ragged blue I’d noticed him wearing.

“It’s work too,” he said, interrupting my fantasy.

“Oh.” I chugged the balance of my mimosa, cooling the wash of desire recently conjured up from my brain.

“Actually, I’m pretty sure BubblePOP will end up reviewing this one, will probably have someone at the premiere too. That’s why I asked about the site. Six degrees of Kevin Bacon and all that. Our worlds are connected.”

“I don’t do movies. I’m the fitness editor, but if Katie What’s-her-name is in it, I’m sure we’ll be all over it.”

He shifted his gaze over fully to me now. His eyes weren’t exclusively deep brown; tiny flecks of amber circled his pupil. They were captivating in a weird way, as if they didn’t belong with this guy.

I’d never met a slob who was so interesting before, yet he was definitely intriguing. And not really a slob—that was my own bias. Clearly, I was having some sort of psychotic breakdown on this airplane.

Like many other reviews I’ve read, I both loved and hated To See You.

Charli is a hustle and bustle, New Yorker, e-zine fitness editor, and always looking for the next achievement.  When Layton, a thicker, sweetheart of a man starts talking to her on a plane, she immediately judges him by his outward appearance.

Layton knows he is a little more than society’s version of “fit” but when he meets Charli on a plane, he is immediately interested in her.  She’s not like his normal type but in his mind he’ll never know what could happen unless he tries.  So he tries.

Fast forward a few months and Charli has undergone a transformation for the better and so has Layton.  They meet up again and their chemistry is still there.

I liked the message of this book but at the same time I just hated Charli.  But that’s what made her transformation that much more effective.

A hot one night stand between friends might spark true love in the latest Billionaires and Bridesmaids novel from the New York Times bestselling author of Billionaire Takes a Bride.

Greer has always been there for Asher, but she wishes she could break through her shyness and show how much she truly loves him. But after a steamy, mindless fling at Hunter and Gretchen’s engagement party, Greer finds herself tossed aside and forced to admit that you can’t love someone who doesn’t acknowledge you exist.

It’s a shame he got her pregnant.

After his fiancée betrayed him and tanked his business in one fell swoop, Asher has spent his time trying to rebuild his wealth and forget the past. But he doesn’t understand why Greer blew him off after their night together—until he catches a glimpse of her belly.

Now Asher is willing to do whatever it takes to convince Greer she belongs with him. And he’s very skilled at the art of persuasion.

Excerpt

When the group started to disperse into partying again, he got out of his chair and moved toward Greer’s table, stalking her. He saw her heading off with one of the waitstaff and jogged to catch up. “Greer!”

She turned and her face paled at the sight of him. Her mouth firmed into an angry line of distaste, and then she picked up her skirts and continued to walk away.

Yeah, he was definitely on the shit list.

That didn’t deter him, though. Asher headed after her, following her into the house and catching up despite her efforts to hurry. “Hey, wait up. I think we need to talk.”

“I have nothing to say to you, Asher.” She didn’t turn to look at him.

He reached out and clasped her arm, noting how warm her skin was, and how soft. And damn it all if he didn’t start to get another inappropriate boner. His body really needed to learn to calm the fuck down. “Just give me five minutes of your time, all right? Then I’ll leave you alone.”

She exchanged a look with the waitress, and then nodded at her. “I’ll be inside in a minute. Go ahead.” When the woman left, Greer sighed and turned back to him, smoothing a stray lock of hair back behind her ear. “What is it, Asher? I’m very busy tonight with the party.”

“I can imagine. This is a terrific party. I should have known you were behind it.” He knew she’d done weddings for some top-notch clients in New York and always took her job extremely seriously. Of course she’d put on a spectacular party for her father. “Listen. I feel like the last time we saw each other, we . . . well, we fucked up.”

Her eyebrows went up.

Shit. That was apparently the wrong thing to say. “I mean, it was a fuckup, but not that fucking you was a mistake.” God, where was his suaveness when he needed it? Why was he all diarrhea of the mouth when it came to Greer? He could sweet talk anyone, but the moment he came close to her, he babbled like a schoolboy. “Not that I think we should have fucked, of course. We’re friends, and friends don’t sleep with each other. Not if they want to stay friends. And you’ve been avoiding me. We haven’t had our Mondays in the last few months.”

“No, we haven’t.”

“It doesn’t have to be Mondays, you know. It can be any other day. Or it doesn’t have to be lunch. It can be anytime you need it to be if your schedule is all screwed.” He frowned to himself. “I should probably stop saying the word screwed, shouldn’t I?”

Her arms crossed over her chest, pressing her dress tighter against her body. “Is this conversation going somewhere, Asher? Like I said, I’m very busy tonight.”

Greer’s tits looked magnificent in that dress, he realized. They’d been small, perfect handfuls the night they’d slept together and now they seemed . . . doubly abundant. “Did you get a boob job?”

Her eyes narrowed imperceptibly. “I need to go.”

Fuck, why did he say that? “Sorry. It’s none of my business. Listen.” He reached out and grabbed her elbow when she turned to leave, stopping her. “The reason why I wanted to talk to you tonight is because I was behaving like an ass that night. I was drunk and I wasn’t myself. I was just lost in misery and in booze, and if I’d been thinking straight, I would have never dragged you off to the gardens and slept with you.” And damn if that didn’t sound all wrong, too. “Not because you’re not attractive, Greer. You are.”

“You’re not winning me over, Asher.” Her voice sounded hard. “Did you truly come to this party just to tell me that you find me repulsive and you wouldn’t have slept with me if you were sober?”

“What? No, that’s not what I meant at all. You’re hot. I mean, hell, you look smoking hot in that dress tonight.” She was all lush curves, which was surprising given that his memories of her were of her daintiness. But her body had changed in the last couple of months. And something about that was bothering him. “I just . . . don’t think we should have done that. As friends.”

“On that, I agree completely. May I go now?”

Why wasn’t she thawing toward him? He remembered Greer as all soft, shy smiles for him. They’d been friends, good friends. The cool, remote stranger in front of him . . . well, it reminded him of Stijn and the politely disinterested-because-you-are-dirt-to-me expression he wore at all times. “I just . . . you’re a good friend and I don’t want to lose you.”

“We can’t change what happened, Asher.” She hadn’t thawed an inch. One of the waitstaff moved nearby with an enormous cake, and she delicately sidestepped on the path to allow them more room. As she did, the long hem of her skirt got caught in a nearby bush and pulled taut against her body, outlining a slightly rounded stomach.

Asher’s eyes widened as realization struck him. “Greer . . . are you pregnant?”

She bit her lip and averted her gaze.

Oh fuck. She was pregnant.
“Is it . . . Is it mine?”

She looked back up again. Her eyes narrowed. She crooked her finger at him, indicating he should lean down. He did—

—And she delivered a ringing slap to his face.

The Billionaire’s Favorite Mistake will have you repeatedly muttering “Asher Asher Asher” to yourself as you shake your head.  And wanting to smack Greer for lacking some backbone. But this was just like the other Billionaire’s books: fantastic!

Greer has been in love with Asher for what seems like forever. And she finally sees her chance at getting Asher to really “see” her.  What she doesn’t count on is Asher’s condition when she finally makes her play.

Greer finally realizes that Asher never saw her that way and stops talking with him.  Except he’s left her a little gift that will make an appearance in about 9 months….

Asher sees that Greer is pregnant and if he wasn’t missing her before, he definitely is now that she’s pregnant as well.  Asher will stop at nothing to get Greer (and their baby) back with him.

5 stars!

Who doesn’t love a good second chance romance?  That’s exactly what Love Entwined is.
Ireland (I LOVE her name!) and Bentley (I LOVE his name too!) are former childhood friends who run into each other because their mutual friends are getting married.
I loved reading their relationship as they were younger and how it seems to have picked up to the present even though there’s 20 years in between.
The heartbreak they each go through is just so sad but then other events make it such an amazing story!  This will definitely be a book I re-read!

EXCERPT

I take in every inch of him, noticing first his muscular arms and wide shoulders. I see part of a tattoo peeking out from the arm of his t-shirt. The tiny hint makes me want to see it all. I’ve always been partial to inked bodies, loving how a story can be told in ink rather than words.
His dark, brown beard is ridiculously neat, trimmed to perfection. It surrounds pouty, kissable lips. I can’t help but wonder if he has chest hair. I’ve always been attracted to very masculine men. I realize how much of a freak I am, staring at this stranger, itching to see the rest of his tattoos and wondering what he’d look like naked, how my fingers would feel caressing his skin.
Soothing brown eyes look back at me, almost pleading with me to change my views of the world. His hair is longer on top than on the sides, tousled and messy as if he’s been running his hands through it for hours. Sexy, this man is incredibly sexy. He has an edge of danger to him, but at the same time, he seems completely approachable. He’s a wash of contradictions.
“I’m sorry about your fiancé,” he says reaching his hand out to take mine.
I pull away immediately, unable to hide the quiver in my lip at the mention of Alec.
“Don’t,” I say unsure of what the word is in reference to. Don’t touch me. Don’t mention the death of my best friend. Don’t walk out of here and leave me alone.
A few minutes of peace are all I’ve gotten since Alec’s death. A handful of times over the last couple of weeks my mind would shut down, and I forget, briefly, just how much I’ve lost. I got that reprieve looking at Kid until he ruined it by opening his mouth.
Why do people always feel the need to speak? Why verbalize the pain others are feeling? Sometimes just sitting, being available if needed is the best thing you can do.
“He’s my best friend,” I say on a choked sob. I have no idea why I’m telling him this. I don’t know why I feel the need to ease the hurt I saw in his eyes when I pulled my hand away from his touch. “Was. I lost my best friend.”
“Yeah,” he says, his voice full of sorrow. “I know what that feels like.”
I pull my eyes from looking at my own hands and look back at him. For the first time, I notice dog tags hanging around his neck. Small pieces of metal, unassuming for the most part, but I know they tell a story. Every soldier who wears them has one. It seems in a time of war, those stories get harder to tell.
Kid is young. I know he’s older than me. Even with an unmarred face and bright young eyes, he’s got an air about him that lets you know he’s seen more than most. He’s suffered more than most.
I immediately feel some sort of kindred-ship with him. I begin to shut the little part of myself down that he somehow forced me to open. He’s so young; there’s a good chance he’s still a soldier, and there’s no guarantee that any of them are safe. It’s best to just keep every one of them at a distance.
“You’re in the Army?” I finally manage to ask, angling my head at the tags around his neck.
I watch as he reaches his hand up and touches them as if he’s worn them so long he’s forgotten that they’re even there.
“I was in the Marines,” he answers quickly. “I’ve been out for a couple years now.”
“How old are you?” Was a soldier? No longer in the service? He doesn’t look old enough.
“Twenty-four.”
Six years older than me. I shake my head, knowing he sees nothing but a child sitting here in this bed. Not that I expect anything different, but I’m tired of being viewed as a child.

TBRreview
Kid  kept me guessing!  The book not the character.  Although he did too.
Khloe is having a rough go at life and is prepared and acts to do something permanent about it when Kid steps in to stop her.  Kid is undeniably attracted to Khloe but also wants to help her because she’s in a bad mental space and has had a rough life.
I LOVE these Cerberus MC boys!  They’re hysterical, alpha and protective – my favorite combination.  Plus they ride motorcycles…..  Sorry got distracted.  This isn’t just a simple love story, Khloe has her issues, Kid has his issues and eventually they’re able to make sense of it all.  Or are they??  Read and find out!

Retiring from the military was the right decision for Beckett Fitzgerald. He’s landed the girl of his dreams, the ring is on her finger and the only other mission he’s interested in is putting a baby in Promise’s belly by the time they get back from the honeymoon. Simple, right?

Swept off her feet by Beckett, with his scarred face and Monet blue eyes, Promise is finally learning that true love isn’t just for fairy tales. With her brother finally free from the horrors of foster care and her own personal hero hell-bent on teaching her all the magical ways her body belongs to him, her once-in-a-lifetime feels so real.

But, before their honeymoon suitcases are packed, a knock on the door and a best friend’s betrayal threaten to tear them apart. Beckett will cross oceans and leave a path of destruction behind to protect what is his, but when promises are broken, and the truth is revealed, will their all-consuming love be enough to carry them through?

I’ve never told her, but she’s too good for me. I know I married far up the chain of command, so far that someone should have slapped me back down. But here I am. So I intend to keep her completely satisfied, so completely satisfied that she will never even have time to think twice about her decision to marry a fuck like me. A girl like her could be on any man’s arm. Some billionaire somewhere is missing his porcelain doll. And although I may not have the coin to offer her like that, I sure as shit can make sure she knows all the other ways only I can take care of her.

Like this.

She’s as sweet and juicy as an overripe peach. I swear she tastes better every time. I slurp and swallow as her hands come down to grip the sides of my head. My fingers take control of her lush thighs, spreading her, following her manic, up-and-down, up-and-down motion with enthusiasm.

I lick and suck. Rasping my teeth over her clit until she cums with such a shudder it’s like she’s possessed. Quaking and shivering, she runs sweet cum into my mouth and I swallow her nectar with pride.

My balls throb. My cock demands his own just reward but I’m not done with my little girl. I want one more from her because I can feel the animal in me clawing forward. When I get my cock inside her, it’s not going to be gentle.

Hard, rough and fast. I want her soaking and moaning and ready when it happens.

I give her a few seconds to re-group, tickling her outer lips with my tongue. Then I’m face deep inside her again. My tongue wants to be everywhere. I’m winding up and down in each fold. I’ve been here so many times and it will never be enough. Her pussy is my home.

She falls over into another gushing orgasm, my name on her lips as I bite down on her clit. She practically levitates off the bed.

I pull back for a second, listening to her soft moans and admiring her dripping opening.

“Come here.” I reach for her hands, gently pulling her up as her glazed eyes barely focus.

I guide her hips up and over me as I lay down on the bed.

“Hop on. I want that pussy on my face. Show me what you need.” My hands come up and around her thighs until I’ve got two giant handfuls of ass, and I’m pulling her hips down so the masterpiece of her pussy covers my mouth.

I lick her outer lips, then flick her clit with my tongue. I want all of her at once. I want to devour her, ruin her and stick a damn flag in the ground like Neil Armstrong claiming the moon. She’s all mine. Every juicy inch. I count myself the luckiest man on earth because of it.

I settle my mouth over her clit, playing with the hard button, using the tip of my tongue until she starts to take what’s hers. I love her like this. There is nothing sexier than seeing my girl needy, knowing I’m the only one who will give her what she craves. She’s twitching, grinding down on my mouth, soaking my face until her juice is dripping down through the scruffy two-day beard that covers my jaw.

I groan right along with her. I’m pretty fucking sure I enjoy this more than she does.

She whimpers my name a few times and I stuff my tongue as far into her clutching cunt as it can reach. My name’s still on her lips. Along with some ‘Oh my Gods’ but I think I’m the one who sees Jesus. When your girl cums while calling your name and God’s in the same breath, you are as close to the holy land as mortal man can be.

TBRreviewCherish is the continuation of Beck & Promise’s story.  You definitely need to read Promise first and get the start of their story as well as why each is the way they are.  Plus who wants to miss Beck’s uber alpha ness?  So go back and read OR if ypu buy CherishPromise is included.  Go read that first and THEN come back.  Otherwise, this review will ruin the story for you.

Cherish picks up right where Promise left off.  Promise and Beckett are freshly married and are dealing with Louis’ kidnapping of her brother.  And trying to figure out each of their pasts and keeping it from adversely affecting their future.

Beck is SO obsessed with Promise and keeping her happy and safe.  The only down side for this book to me was that Promise called him “Daddy” a few times while they were intimate.  That just doesn’t work for me.  Otherwise, I love Beck and his not creepy obsession with Promise.

4 stars!

Dani Wyatt loves her alpha men; make them military, cowboys, MMA — any uber alpha with a wicked possessive streak and an insatiable libido. Receive a free exclusive unpublished title when you join Dani’s private readers group for updates, free chapters and discounts.

She’s a 40 something regular lady who just happens to love badass alpha males who pull your hair and love their women with a lethal passion.

When she’s not writing (which is not often) she is probably laughing about some irony (like A-1 Steak Sauce is vegan), riding her horse, wondering why The Walking Dead can’t have a new episode every night, or looking cross-eyed at some piece of technology sent to ruin her day.

Melissa

They say there are defining points in your life – moments where you f**ked it all up, moments that make you its bitch, moments that shape you into the person you are.
The day I met Braxton Ward was one of my moments.
My name’s Melissa Hart, and I don’t think you’re ready for this story.
 Hella
I go by a few names: Hella, Brax, 112, or, depending on whether I’ve been balls deep in you or not, C*nt. I don’t push the boundaries because in order to do so, one must have them. I’ve never had them. Being homeless at the not-so-tender age of fifteen morphed me into an emotionless shell, and when The Army recruited me, that shell turned into steel.
They say if fire is hot enough, it can melt steel; the hate that burns between Melissa Hart and me just might be hot enough. Shit doesn’t come easy for us. Enemies are expanded, secrets are revealed, and lives will be taken. Yeah, I’m Braxton “Hella” Ward, and you bet your f*cking ass that you ain’t ready for this story.

After reading One Hundred & Thirty Six Scars, I was SO glad to read Hella’s story!  He intrigued me so much while reading Beast and Meadow’s story.  Beast was so straight-forward about wanting Meadow as where Hella was more sneaky about it.  He was possessive but he and Melissa had such friction that I really wondered if they’d ever get together.
Hella of course had his own story with The Army but Melissa’s story was just so tragic.  But at the same time uplifting because she survived and flourished after it.  I’m not telling you what because you need to read the story.
I highly recommend reading book 1 first because there are events that occur in both but you get to see it from another person/couples perspective.  I personally love when there are overlapping events but from different views.
I can’t wait for more of this series!  These men are so alpha it’s just ridiculous but I LOVE it!  And I love me a good MC and this is DEFINITELY one of them!

Review ~ You Don’t Own Me ~ by ~ Georgia Le Carre

You Don’t Own Me (Book 1) was an amazing read.  You feel for Dahlia and her hate, love and then hate to love Zane.  I went through the hating Zane, then loving Zane then just wanting to hug him because he obviously needed the love.

You can tell Zane  has a deep dark past and that he’s trying to keep Dahlia at arms length but she just worms her way in.  Whenever Zane does something sweet and kind, he immediately comes back with a dick move so that Dahlia doesn’t love him.

Dahlia is strong and determined to push through Zane’s walls and last through this arrangement.  Even Zane’s staff has taken up for Dahlia and standing behind her.

I had to buy book 2 because book 1 does end on a cliffhanger BUT book 2 is already out and I was able to read.

Release Tour & Review ~ Juked ~ by ~ M.E. Carter

Title: Juked
Author: M.E. Carter
Genre: Sports Romance
Release Date: June 16, 2016

Juked: verb.

/jook-t/

A slang soccer term meaning: fake out, deceive, confuse your opponent

See examples Daniel Zavaro and Quincy Watson:

As the rising star in Houston, Daniel has found fame as Captain of his Pro soccer team and the city’s most eligible bachelor. Daniel has everything – except someone special – and that suits him just fine. He doesn’t want, or need, complications.

Quincy has baggage, and lots of it. After a tragic accident spins her world on its axis, she finds herself as a single mother, raising a newborn nephew she never knew she had. Between parenthood, her full-time job, and dealing with the suffocating grief of losing her sister, every day is a struggle.

When they begin to cross paths unexpectedly and often, an unlikely friendship starts to evolve. Feelings change. Lines get crossed. What happens next surprises them both…

Before they know it– they’ve been Juked.

“I really do recommend it if you’re in the mood for a good, witty sport-romance with great characters, a great storyline and a baby! Did I mention that the baby is the cutest thing ever?<3” – Goodreads Review

“4 out of 5 “I Might Just Start Watching Soccer” Blushes” – Goodreads Reviewer

“4.5 stars!! Quincy, you inspire me. Daniel, you grew on me. Chance, you stole my heart. This book was beautiful, and EVERYONE should read it.” – Goodreads Review

“I hope you don’t mind,” she says, changing subjects and breaking the tension. “Before you called, I was going to catch up on Outlander. I’m several episodes behind.”

“Fine with me,” I say. “I’m used to those soft-porn shows.”

“Soft-porn shows?”

“You know… Outlander, Game of Thrones, True Blood. Soft porn.”

She scoffs at me. “We’re watching Starz, Daniel, not pay-per-view.”

I lean back and put my feet up on the coffee table. “Baby, the only difference between Starz and porn is that actual porn doesn’t have a plot or as big a budget.”

She rolls her eyes. “Whatever. Soft porn,” she grumbles under her breath. She picks up the popcorn and puts it on the couch between us.

I snap up a handful and toss some in my mouth as the review of the last episode plays and the credits roll.

Adult language. Adult situations. Brief nudity.

That’s what the parental ratings warn us of. It is so, so wrong.

The first thing that pops up on the screen is a woman on a bed and a man is with her. With his head between her legs for a very long time. And now there’s nipples, lots and lots of nipples. And his head is still between her legs.

“Still trying to convince yourself it’s not high-budget porn?” I joke, trying to break the sexual tension that has sprung up again.

“Oh my god, this is so awkward,” she replies, eyes still on the screen. Her ears turn bright red, which is apparently her version of a blush. She looks so uncomfortable.

I sip my beer and munch popcorn, ignoring the woody in my pants from imagining that it’s Quincy and me on the screen. When all else fails, insert humor. “Man, he’s really going at it, isn’t he?”

“Would you shut up?” She laughs and smacks my arm. “This is weird enough without you making jokes.”

“Sorry. I’ll just sit here quietly while we watch the non-porn.” She rolls her eyes but smiles anyway.

I know nothing about soccer.  Wait, I take that back, I know only the goalie can use their hands.
Anywho, on to Juked.  Juked was a fantastic read with sad moments, hilarity, sweetness and love.  Daniel is Captain of his professional soccer team.  And is enjoying his life, playing soccer and enjoying the perks of being a professional athlete when he meets Quincy.
Quincy is having a horrible day when she meets Daniel.  Her sister that she loves dearly but was estranged from has died and left her as the guardian of an almost newborn baby boy.  Daniel comes along and is able to help her when she needs it the most.
Such a good read that makes you laugh and cry while you’re reading it.

“Mother, reader, storyteller – ME Carter never set out to write books. But when a friend practically forced a copy of Twilight into her hands, the love of the written word she had lost as a child was rekindled. With a story always rolling around in her head, it should come as no surprise that she finally started putting them on paper. She lives in Texas with her four children, Mary, Elizabeth, Carter and Bug, who sadly was born long after her pen name was created, and will probably need extensive therapy because of it.”

Judah St. Michaels is a man who seeks pleasure, not love. Never love. By rule, satisfaction is guaranteed while in his bed—yet, his women are always dismissed still begging for more. “…..read the book.. it’s a really long book and it’s full of deliciousness… so read it. That is all!” – Author Hayley Faiman
review
Head’s Up: This book is longer than most – 624 pages according to Amazon. BUT you wouldn’t know it’s that long.  I read it over 2 days and I loved it!  I had to know what happened.  It wasn’t as if I read it and thought to myself “When will it end?”  I was just so into Judah and Teddy’s story.
Judah and Teddy’s relationship is huge and complex and sweet and just so consuming.  Judah is your typical manwhore who decides he wants Teddy once he sees her.  Teddy is unlike any other woman Judah has come across and that makes her more of a challenge.
Teddy has had a bad relationship before so she is justifiably skeptical and jaded somewhat.  Judah is exactly the type of man she doesn’t want to get involved with but is so interested in him as well.
I truly loved this story.  It is very well written and the characters angst is so real.
5 stars!
I’m a born and bred Coloradan. While I now reside in Virginia, the land of the Rocky Mountains is where I’ve left a piece of my heart and where my characters come to life. When I’m not writing I’m reading; when I’m not reading I’m writing…you know how it goes! I also enjoy cooking, baking, crocheting, and jigsaw puzzles. Basically, I’m an old soul with a young heart, nonchalantly waiting for my prince to come.
