Savio shook his head. “I think you’re really trying to kill me, Gem. That bikini is a joke.”

I hid a pleased smile by putting my sunglasses on.

He leaned over me. “Tell you what. I’ll get changed and then we’ll take a dip.” After a quick kiss, he stalked away. I turned on my stomach, trying to decide if swimming was the best idea. I needed every layer of clothing I could get between Savio and me to resist his charm.

A few minutes later, a familiar shadow fell over me.

“Did you know that you have the prettiest dimples…” Savio began.

I didn’t bother to turn around. “I don’t—”

“…above your perfectly shaped ass.”

I snapped my mouth shut. “What are you talk—”

His hot breath ghosted over my lower back. “Right here,” he said in a low voice that sent a pleasant shiver through my body. His mouth touched a spot right above my ass. Shock shot through me, then indignation, and I was about to whirl on him. Then he began to suck the spot and my limbs turned to mush. What was happening? Heat pooled in my belly. Oh my God. What was he doing with his lips?

He released my skin, then dragged his lips along my lower back. “And here.” He latched onto my skin again, sucked and licked. The heat of his body ghosted over my thighs as he leaned over me.

If my tongue hadn’t still been tied, I would have given a clever comeback. Instead, heat shot into my head. It had been good, so good that I couldn’t think about anything but the fact that he would see how good if he took a closer look at my bikini bottoms.

Savio chuckled. “If this got you this hot and bothered, Gem, just imagine what my mouth would do between your legs?”

I was trying very hard not to, but of course I did. Toni had once mentioned something along the lines until I’d asked her to never mention her activities with my brother again.

Savio’s smile widened because he knew. He leaned closer and I held my breath. “I know you’re stubborn as fuck, but you’re punishing yourself, not just me. We’re all alone. You don’t even have to say a word. Just close your eyes and I’ll take it as permission to part your legs and bury my face in your pussy. No sex, just my tongue, Kitty.”

I am so thankful to have been able to receive an ARC of this book because I would not have been lucky to meet the Arrowood brothers! Connor and Ellie’s story was NOTHING like what I was expecting. Every page brought something new and everything that happened wasn’t what I was expecting. Whenever I’m reading a particularly eventful book, I try to imagine myself in the circumstances. Would I do what the heroine did or would I have done something else? And I honestly, never could put my mind into what Ellie and Connor were experiencing. I think this book was perfect! And a great lead-in to the different personalities of the Arrowood boys. I can’t wait to read more of this series!!

This wasn’t the first time Duely had said something like this to me, but it was the first time he had mentioned things shifting the older I got. I still thought he was being dramatic and reading things into situations that weren’t there. I was done arguing that my mother, who had made my life hell from the moment my father died, was scared of me. She hated me. That was clear. She hated that I wouldn’t give her the power of three. She hated that I was stubborn and like my father. She possibly hated that I was half normal. But Persephone Kamlock was by no means scared of me. I let out a hard laugh. “It’s past time you let that theory go,” I told him.

He lowered his eyebrows in a frown. The frustrated kind, not the angry kind. He wanted me to buy into this idea of me being powerful. I had a mortal as a father. That was impossible to consider.

“Explain then why you feel a dark cast and I feel nothing? How do you know it’s dark? What is it you feel?” He was challenging me now. I didn’t have answers, of course. I was still trying to wrap my head around the disappearing act the caster had done.

“You would have felt it too if you’d seen the man,” I said in way of explanation.

“But I didn’t see him. No one did… but you,” he shot back.

I opened my mouth to remind him that I’d been walking around by myself to get peace. There was no way the man knew he’d see me out there alone. He hadn’t been waiting on me. That was ridiculous. This was getting us nowhere. Duely was done with the evening and wanted to get stoned. He wasn’t going to do much to help me. I just shook my head and turned to walk back to the house. “Maybe I’m crazy!” I called out to him, as I walked, trying to break the tension that had unintentionally built.

“Or maybe you’re darker than you want to accept,” was his response.

Another type of show I don’t really watch are the home improvement shows or the DIY shows. I’m just not crafty and those shows just point it out more to me. However, this story is about a home improvement show but it’s one I actually like since the TV show is more in the background.

Spencer and Brooke were about to get married – like almost walking down the aisle – when Brooke leaves Spencer. She doesn’t say anything, just takes off. That was 5 years ago. Spencer is still hurt and Brooke is still broken-hearted, even though she’s the one who walked away.

Fast forward 5 years, Spence is trying to buy this mansion he’s always loved but it’s a huge undertaking to get it renovated. So a deal is made and Spence now has to work on renovating a bar in town with none other than his ex-fiancée as the Project Manager.

That’s just the bare bones of the story. There’s SO much more that happens and twists and turns plus the Man of the Month contest.
