Title: Like You Want It

Author: Jillian Liota

Genre: Contemporary Romance Audiobook

About Like You Want It:

“I want to make you smile like you mean it.”

The day Cole Lannington says those words to me, I already know I’m falling. Hard. For a man I can never have. Because there’s no way in hell I’ll ever deserve a man like him.

Annie

All I need to do is keep my head above water. Push a little harder. Keep that smile plastered on my face for my son as we try to wade through the new life that’s threatening to drown us both.

But on the first day I can’t seem to hold it all together, I meet him. And for some reason, he comes to my aid. Before I know it, Cole steps in and becomes an important part of my life. Our lives. Fills a void left vacant by a man who never wanted to fill it in the first place.

Too bad he can never be more than a friend.

Cole

All I need to do is be a nice guy to my new neighbor. Make her smile a little bit. Find space in my tidy, structured life to ease the burden she carries so she and her son can enjoy life without the bastard who treated them like they were insignificant.

I don’t expect to talk and laugh and feel a warmth in my chest I didn’t know was missing until she showed up at my door. Somehow I end up caring about her more deeply than I should. But my friendship with Annie opens my eyes to what it could be like to have something deeper. To feel something stronger.

To fall in love like I mean it.

Like You Mean It is the first book in the Like You Series and is a standalone novel.

Like You Mean It is the first book in the Like You Series and is a standalone novel.

Title: Like You Want It

Author: Jillian Liota

About Like You Want It:

“Sometimes, wanting someone just isn’t enough.”

I don’t want to believe those words. Because I’ve never fallen for someone like Fin Callaghan. And I can’t imagine that this feeling isn’t enough.

CARLY.”

To say my first interaction with Fin leaves much to be desired is an understatement. He infuriates me, barely speaks, and glares at me all the time. Not to mention he thinks I’m a mess.

It isn’t in my plans to start to like him. To fall for him. To want something more. But Fin’s past is filled with a pain that makes any kind of us impossible. He can’t seem to figure out what he wants, and truthfully, neither can I.

All I know is that I want more than what he’s willing to give.

FIN.”

All I should be focusing on is my family as we try to sort through the wounds left by our past mistakes. I have more than enough on my plate, have sacrificed too much to fracture my focus. I shouldn’t allow a woman to get in the way. Especially one like Carly Palmer.

She’s different. Wild. A bright burst of color in my world of black and white. Before I know it, she’s all that I want. All I can think about. But it doesn’t matter. I’ve been through betrayal that still singes my skin, eats at my soul.

I won’t allow it to happen again.

Like You Want It is the second book in the Like You Series and is a standalone novel.

Exclusive Excerpt:

“Well, thanks for placating Jones with the motorcycle,” I say. “I appreciate how nice you are to him. But I should probably get back inside. We have to head out soon.”

Cole looks back at me, his eyebrows furrowing for a second, and Jess’ smile grows just slightly.

“See you guys later,” I say.

Then I turn and waddle my fat pregnant butt back to my house. I have places to be, and it doesn’t include whatever is going on between Jess and Cole.

But the minute I enter my house, I realize all of the windows in the front are open, and after standing in the entry for just a second, it’s more than easy to hear them talking.

“What was that?” Cole hisses.

There’s silence for a second, and I step closer to a window and glance outside. Jess is just standing there, looking at him.

“What do you mean?”

Even from here, I can hear the absolutely faux innocence in her voice. I roll my eyes, then realize Cole has done the same thing.

“Don’t pull that. I thought if you met Annie, you’d see that you have nothing to be worried about.”

Ouch. I wince at his comment. He wanted me to meet his girlfriend so she’d realize I’m not competition? Well, first of all, obviously I’m not competition. I’m a fat fatty pregnant lady that’s bloated and gassy and crying all the time. And two, Cole is way, way out of my league. Like years out of my league. Literally. He’s at least ten years older than me, seems to be leading a successful life, and as time passes, I’m becoming even more aware of how handsome he is. Like, really handsome.

Yeah, in the pool of life, he’s swimming in the Olympic-sized one next to Michael Phelps, while I’m over in the kiddie pool testing out floaties.

But still. No one wants their mediocrity shoved in their face.

Maybe I shouldn’t listen to them anymore. Eavesdropping never did anyone any good. I’m sure of it.

But before I can get far enough away from the window, I hear him continue.

“She’s my pregnant fucking neighbor who is all alone and has no friends. Have a little pity, Jess. Jesus.”

The blood drains from my face.

Have a little pity, Jess.

Great. Exactly what I fucking want. Someone who feels obligated to be nice to me because I’m such an unfortunate mess of desperation and failure.

I glance back out the window and see Cole sitting on his bike. And when his eyes track over to my house for a second, somehow, they land on mine.

I step quickly away and rush towards the back of the house.

“Jones!” I call to him.

His smiling face pops out of his bedroom just before I get there.

“You ready?”

When he nods, I give him a high five. Then I wait like a coward to hear Cole’s motorcycle rev up and head down the road before walking out to my car.

I don’t want his pity, and if he’s realized that I overheard what he said to Jess, I definitely don’t want his remorse either.

“That was great,” Bells says from where she’s lying flat on her back next to me. “I know we gave Boyd shit about it when he said he enjoyed yoga with Ruby, but maybe he’s onto something.”

I smile, staring up at the sky and the trees that sway in the light breeze above us. We both lie there for a while, just enjoying the outside time and the beautiful weather.

“Hey, B?”

When I feel her hand slip into mine, I look over and find my sister watching me, her light brown eyes narrowed with concern.

“I know I’m not Boyd,” she tells me, “and I know I’m younger than you and you’ve never really, you know, talked to me about your life in any kind of real way…but I just want you to know I’m here for you if you need somebody.”

Something thick settles in my throat, something that feels oddly like the sensation right before tears. I work hard to swallow it down.

“Like if you want to talk about what happened with Chad, or…”

I pull my body up so I’m no longer lying on my back, letting go of my sister’s hand in the process.

“Thanks, but I’m good.”

I know my words aren’t what Bellamy wants to hear. She’s the definition of being our mother’s daughter—outgoing, friendly, and above all, has a strong desire to talk about things.

But I don’t want to talk about Chad. I don’t want to talk about my life with him where I felt so unhappy. I think about it enough on my own.

Nobody else needs to hear about the mistakes I made. Nobody else needs to know about all the times I let myself down.

Because that’s really the reason I left Chad.

He didn’t cheat on me. He didn’t hit me or hurt me. Sure, he might not have been the biggest supporter of me going after things I wanted, and yeah, he basically just wanted me to be a woman who took care of him and slept with him and didn’t cause a fuss.

But I left because I was disappointed in myself.

I had all those big plans, big plans and big ideas for my big life in the big city, and I let myself get made small. I let myself get dismissed, settling into a life that made me so unhappy I hardly knew what to do with myself.

I’m ashamed of who I became. I didn’t recognize the woman in the mirror anymore, having allowed the man in my life to warp what I saw until I finally smashed my reflection to pieces.

How am I supposed to talk about that with my younger sister? She’s supposed to be able to look up to me, and all she’ll see if I tell her about Chad and my life down the mountain is someone who failed.

So I do the thing I know how to do.

I give her a smile and pull away, keeping the broken and ugly bits of myself tucked away safely inside.

Nobody really wants to see those parts anyway.

Genre: Contemporary Romance

About The Trouble With Wanting:

Ruby Roberts is heading to Cedar Point to connect with the father who left her behind. Easy conversation with the handsome man sitting next to her isn’t what she’s expecting from her cross-country flight, but it’s not something she’s complaining about, that’s for sure.

Boyd Mitchell is flying home for some end-of-summer relaxation and time with his favorite people – his family. A talkative seat-mate that pulls him out of his shell is the last thing he wants, but he can’t seem to resist her charm.

When Boyd and Ruby end up in the same lakeside town, their banter and flirtation quickly become a steamy fling that leaves them both breathless. Neither of them are expecting to find a romance that has them both reconsidering everything they used to believe about love.

Exclusive Excerpt:

“Sorry for rambling,” I say, giving him another smile. “It’s way too early in the morning to be debating something so highbrow. So, how ’bout them Sox, huh?”

Boyd looks at me with a twinkle in his eyes, a kind of friendly charm I wasn’t expecting from him, regardless of how well we got on with our chat.

What I wouldn’t give to look at that kind of handsome joy every day for the rest of my life.

A stupid thought, sure, but still true.

“I bet you ten dollars you can’t name a single player on the team this year.”

I narrow my eyes, trying to hide my smile as I shake my head. “I’m not a gambling girl.”

“You’d gamble if you knew you were probably going to win.” His response is as quick as lightning. “People only choose not to gamble when they’re afraid they’ll lose.”

“That is so not true.” I giggle. “Some of us poor folk don’t gamble because we can’t take the risk. Not all of us are first class aficionados with money to throw around willy-nilly.”

“Nobody says willy-nilly anymore.”

I snort. “Clearly that’s false, because I just did.”

He bites his lip and shakes his head, and I can’t help the little thing that keeps bouncing around in my chest.

We like him, it tells me. We like him a lot.

Is this flirting? We are definitely flirting, right? I hope so, because it has been far too long since I’ve enjoyed a good flirt sesh with someone as handsome as Boyd.

That’s a lie.

I’ve never flirted with someone as handsome as Boyd. He is in a league of his own.

Before I can say anything else, the plane lurches forward, and it feels like my stomach is going to fall out of my body.

My eyes slam shut and my throat closes up, my hands gripping the armrests for dear life as the plane barrels down the runway, all the good feelings from my talk with Boyd rushing out of me with a surreal quickness.

It’s going to be okay.

It’s going to be okay.

It’s going to be okay.

I’m like that for who knows how long before I feel a hand on top of mine, the warmth and roughness surprising me enough that my eyes fly open, taking in the man sitting next to me.

He lifts my hand and twists his fingers in mine, the sensation robbing me of my voice—and maybe my sanity.

For the rest of my life, I’ll remember exactly what he says to me. Not just the words, but the soothing tone of his voice and the earnest caring in his eyes, so surprising from someone I was expecting to ignore me for the entire flight.

“It’s okay to be afraid,” he says. “I can’t take that feeling away from you, but I can hold your hand until it’s over so you know you’re not alone.”
