All she has ever dreamed about was their life together.
All he has ever wanted was to be enough for her.
She comes from money.
He’s had to work for everything.
She’s running to save him.
His life is stalled without her.
Her future is uncertain.
He can’t see a future without her.
She’s in trouble.
He’s the only one that can help.
Can two people from different sides of the tracks and with so many years between them ever find their way back to each other?
And if they do, can they learn to fight together for their happily ever after?

“Would you like one, Addison?” Carl asked, holding out a thin-stemmed glass of champagne, breaking her out of her daydream. She tried not to roll her eyes as she reached for it, but it wasn’t like he would see it. His gaze had been stuck on her cleavage for the last five minutes anyways.
“Thank you,” she muttered.
“Carl, dear, Addison would love a walk through the garden. Wouldn’t you, dear?” Trixie said, her nails biting into her arm, and she winced.
Her stomach dropped as she fought her brain to work through her panic and come up with a good excuse, because she was not going anywhere with him.
Could she just run out the door?
If she took off her heels, she wondered if she might be fast enough. Then she glanced sideways at her guard and knew it wouldn’t work.
“Of course she would,” Trixie answered for her, giving her big eyes, and she must have missed part of what they were saying because everyone in their circle was giving her smiling looks as bile started to crawl up her throat.
Vomiting would give her an out.
Before she could actually follow through, the doors behind them burst open, the crowd falling silent as they all turned to look at the intruder.
Her stomach instantly started twirling for a different reason as she looked at a man that she’d thought she would never see again.
Connor.
God.
She knew that she had missed him.
But seeing him, actually seeing him in the flesh, standing there in front of her.
She knew that she missed him.
Trixie’s hand was squeezing her arm in a painful grip, but she hardly felt anything. She was too intent on his dark gaze as Connor’s eyes scanned the room before they locked on her.
Her heart twisted as she took him in and felt her breath seize in her lungs as he started to move forward. His long legs ate up the distance between them as he reached behind him and pulled out his cuffs.
“Addison Warner, you are under arrest for theft. You have the right to remain silent…” Connor’s voice drowned out as Trixie started screeching, and the crowd gasped.
What the heck was going on!

When it comes to gaming,
I’m a pro.
When it comes to my love life?
That’s a different story.
I’ve been crushing on my best friend’s older brother forever.
In return, he’s kept me in the friend zone for way too long.
Then things change between us.
And I get to see a whole new,
And incredibly sexy side to him.
But, he wants to keep things between us a secret.
Wade
I made a promise to my brother.
One I refused to break.
Until now.
I’ve ignored my feelings for the girl for way too long.
And the more time we spend together,
The harder I find myself falling.
There’s just one problem,
I can’t let anyone know that I’ve made her mine.
Can I win her heart before its game-over for us both?

I want so badly to intertwine my fingers with hers, but I can’t, and she drops my hand before reaching for pretzels.
“O.M.G. It just hit me how hungry I am.” She shoves food into her mouth, and I can’t help but chuckle at her.
“Did you not eat dinner?” Leaning into the bar, I watch her with fascination.
“I did, but I was wearing a dress.” She offers this up as if it’s common sense.
I snort. “I don’t understand what that has to do with anything.”
She giggles and rolls her eyes. “Let me school you in some basic female knowledge.” She shoves more food into her mouth. If she wasn’t drunk, she’d be embarrassed at the way she’s acting. I find it endearing.
“Mkay. By all means, Bernie, educate me.”
She makes a face, and I’m not sure what I said that threw her off, but then she tells me. “If you’re gonna use a nickname, it’s Benny now.” She scoffs.
Confused, I just shake my head. I’ll admit, I don’t use her shortened name often. Way back in the day, she introduced herself to me as Bernadette, so it just stuck. I’ve always kinda liked that I’m the only one to use her full name, but I’m not on my game tonight. Between her being drunk and overly flirting with me, the new knowledge I possess about her, and the douche-waffle thinking he has a chance with her, I slip and use her nickname.
“Anyway, what do you have to teach me, oh wise one?” I smirk, getting her back on track.
“Ohh, I like that. But I think you’re making fun. I digress. When a woman is wearing a fancy dress, there are two rules. One, don’t make a mess. And two, don’t stuff yourself silly or your food baby will show.”
A deep belly laugh erupts from me. Between breaths, I ask, “Food baby?”
She’s soaking up my laughter, and she nods vigorously. “Yes, you know when you eat too much and it just sits there in your gut, and it looks like you’re about fifteen weeks preggo? Ergo, food baby. You don’t do that in a fancy tight-fitting dress.”
My laughter under control now, I tell her, “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you like this before, Bernadette.” I chuckle, taking in her carefree, easy demeanor. Her eyes flash with something.
“Like what?” She hiccups.
“Drunk,” I deadpan.
Her eyes widen. “Oh, then I’ve done my job.”
I quirk my brow, “Do you get drunk often and hide it?” She giggles. “Well, shit, do I need to stage an intervention?”
Her pure happiness sets my blood on fire, and it takes everything in me to not reach out to touch her.
“Stop, I’m not a closet drunk. I mean, you don’t see me drunk because I don’t get drunk. In public or alone.” She tries her damnedest to make a serious face, but the attempt ends up just amusing her, and her eyes sparkle.
My own grin grows. “You’re fun like this. Carefree.”
She’s being hilarious right now. I know she doesn’t need alcohol to make her funny. She’s always fun to be around. But I realize now that I don’t have a lot of one-on-one conversations with her. I’m going to start craving this connection.
“I’m not normally fun?” She pops out her bottom lip, leaning forward slightly. Her scent fills my lungs. I take in a deep breath and lean in closer to her.
“No, you’re fun, Benny.” My voice is deep. Her eyes glitter at the use of her new nickname.
She attempts to be serious, but fails. “Just more fun when I’m wasted, yeah?”
“Nah. But normally, you don’t let me get close enough to have fun.” I don’t know why I said that, but it’s out there now.
Her eyes widen, and her mouth forms a little o. I let the silence envelop us. The ball is in her court now.
“Well…” She closes her mouth, opens it again, and then closes it.
I offer a soft laugh. She seems to gather her thoughts and says, “Well, you know where I live. So if you want fun, you know where to find me.”
Well. Fuck. Me.
I gulp, taking in her words, and before I can reply, she’s walking—no, running—away. Gia drapes her arm over her as the girls pull her into the conversation. I’m looking at her, still processing the gauntlet she threw down, and she peeks at me over her shoulder, gives me a little smile, then turns back to the group.
Damn, she launched that fucking ball right back into my court, didn’t she?

I risked everything to write the story that could change my life. And it did, just not in the way I hoped. I was fired.
I went to my brother with my tail between my legs begging him for a job.
He came through and managed to get me one… working for his best friend.
But the most embarrassing thing, he happened to be my one night stand from a week ago and now enemy number one in my eyes.
We push each other’s buttons every day in every way.
Except, the more time I spend with him, the more I let my walls down.
I’ve always known, some things are too good to be true.
And Carson Taylor is one of them.
—
She’s my best friend’s little sister, Grace Prescott.
She is beyond off limits. And now, she works for me.
She’s a constant tease to me with those sexy outfits and bee stung lips.
But her teasing ends up turning into late night rendezvous and dirty secrets.
She’s hiding things from me. And it just might be my downfall.
I could lose everything again.
My pride, my job, my best friend.
Is this my not so eloquent fall from grace?

I smile at her. “Let me guess, you have an ex who was a lawyer or a politician, maybe both.” She goes to cut me off but I continue talking. “And acted like some big shot. Was an asshole. Made you promises all the time but was too focused on his own career he forgot about you. And you thought you could put up with it but then the sex was lackluster, boring, you needed to get yourself off too many times to count while he lay snoring next to you after he got himself off inside you.”
She bites her lip hard then takes a large sip of her vodka and soda.
“And let me guess, his dick was small too.”
“It wouldn’t have mattered if his dick was big or small. He didn’t know how to use it.”
I smile as I watch her crack.
“Motherfucker.”
I run my finger along the edge of my glass as I hear Mason snickering next to me. “Sounds like it’s not really a lawyer or a politician problem. Sounds more like an asshole problem. Like someone who couldn’t read you, couldn’t understand what you wanted, what you needed.”
“And you do?”
I lean in a brush a piece of loose hair that was framing her face behind her ear. “I saw the way you were talking to that guy at the bar earlier. He wasn’t forceful enough for you. Your body was lax, your stance bored. You want someone to dominate you. You look like the type of woman who will fight back with every demand made. Yet with each second that passes your pussy grows wetter. Your thighs clenching, your body craving my touch. Yet I keep my distance. Each time I lean to grab my drink you hope I brush your arm. Feel the caress of my breath across your cheek. The need grows in you as I keep my distance. Your eyes are dilated anticipating the slightest touch. You want nothing more than for me to touch you. Drag my fingers gently down the side of your cheek. Then grab you, pulling you close, devouring that mouth. Pulling on your hair, gripping your hips hard enough to bruise.” I pull away and see the flush on her chest, the increased rate of her breathing. “But you’ll never admit that. You’re too strong to admit you would submit to me every damn time.”

Tori Fox is the author of romantic suspense and contemporary romance with a little bit of angst and a whole lot of sexy. Emily Saturn’s world is spinning out of control. An intellectual property lawyer, she’s gone rogue from her firm, dealing with a major lawsuit against a predatory software company’s CEO pro bono. When she isn’t looking for elusive evidence she can use—legally, of course—she’s trying to avoid her soon-to-be ex-husband, Bobby March.
After their whirlwind courtship and wedding, Bobby can’t pinpoint what went wrong between them. He’s been working for months on his new career and personal growth, determined to be the man his wife deserves. Desperate to get her attention, Bobby invites Emily to a series of individually designed virtual escape rooms, each one a moment from their love story. Hopefully, the sexy, romantic trip down memory lane will rekindle their intense connection—and clue him in on how to fix this.
Emily has never been able to resist a puzzle. Or, frankly, Bobby. The more she interacts with her husband online, the more she wants to see him again in person. Which is beyond stupid because Emily knows he’s wrong for her. Right?

The sun was low in the sky by the time he drove me back to my father’s house in Pacific Heights. He pulled his Jeep to the side of the road and turned off the ignition. I reached for the door handle. “Hold up!” Bobby said. “I’m a gentleman. I’ll walk you to the door.”
Grinning like an idiot, I dropped my hands in my lap and watched him jump out of the car and scramble to the passenger side. Anticipation rose like a cloud in my throat. We’d spent the entire day inches from each other without touching. I’d been able to feel his body heat near my skin for hours, but I still didn’t know how his hands felt. Or how he smelled. Or much at all about his lips. I mean, I’d memorized their exact shape and the many expressions they made when he laughed or spoke. But I was very interested in how they might move against mine.
I glanced around my father’s street and up the sidewalk to the door. If I accepted the job offer I had in San Francisco and moved back here permanently, I’d choose a place in a lively neighborhood instead of this rarified, ultrawealthy corridor. I preferred sidewalk seating at nearby cafés, people walking dogs, apartments with tiny, oft-used patios. But here, on my father’s street, it was quiet. The only sounds were that of landscaping and an occasional walkie-talkie blast from a neighbor congresswoman’s Secret Service patrol.
My father’s next-door neighbor was watering her plants on a spacious second-floor outdoor patio. She had a perfect view of my father’s front door, which absolutely sucked.
I wanted a kiss.
Not a peck on the cheek or forehead. Not a lingering handshake. I wanted a kiss to match the singeing heat I felt every time I looked in Bobby’s general direction. A kiss that would steal the breath from his lungs. A kiss where I could show him just how wound up he made me today.
Bobby opened my car door, and I resigned myself to a short walk up the sidewalk and a quick goodbye. But to my surprise, he didn’t open the car door wide and offer a hand to help me out. Rather, he opened it and then stepped inward, bracing himself with both arms and blocking anyone on the street from seeing into the car. “If I walk you to the door,” he said in a low voice, “there’s going to be an audience.”
My skin started to burn under my cashmere sweater. I wished I was wearing…less. My lips curved up at him as my gaze greedily roamed over his shoulders, neck, and lips. “An audience for what?”
“Our goodbye,” he whispered.

About The Author:
Author Jennifer Miller was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois but now calls Arizona home. After winning a school writing contest at the young age of nine, when she wrote a book about a girl and her pet unicorn (her spirit animal), she dreamed of writing a book of her own. The important lesson she learned about dreams is that they don’t simply fall into your lap – you have to chase them yourself. Her greatest role however is that of a wife and mother. When she’s not writing you’ll likely find her loudly cheering on her daughters at their basketball games, spending time with those she loves, or up to shenanigans with her bestie.
