Can she bake a winning cake without getting iced?
Competition is hotter than the pre-heated ovens as The Great British Baking Competition moves into cake week. Amateur baker Poppy Wilkinson has a lot to deal with, from learning she has talents she never knew about, to trying to keep cool and bake under pressure.
She’s also trying to track down the secrets of her parentage. Meanwhile, she’s saved from death by a local Border collie who seems to think she’s part of his flock and herds her out of danger. Was it an accident or does someone want her out of the baking competition permanently?
With witches, an energy vortex, an ancient manor house that holds it’s secrets tight, Poppy’s barely got time to practice her fondant icing, never mind escape from a killer.

Series: Bayside Summers #6
Tegan Fine has never had a plan—life, business, or otherwise. But she’s always
had goals—to laugh daily and to pay it forward as often as she is able, just
like her favorite uncle always did. After inheriting her great-uncle’s
amphitheater, Tegan makes a risky move to a charming small town on Cape Cod to
carry on her uncle’s legacy and hopefully expand the business with her new
friend, Harper. Unfortunately, those goals aren’t doing much to help her plan a
business strategy for her new endeavor. With Harper counting on her and her
uncle’s legacy at stake, she swears off all distractions, determined to
succeed. If only she could stop bumping into a certain arrogant, witty, and
excruciatingly hot businessman who tweaks her nerves and invades her every
thought. Including her late-night fantasies.
Self-professed workaholic Jett Masters never slows down. He lives life with no
attachments—except to his clients, to whom he gives his all. A reluctant trip
to his hometown has him itching to shake the ghosts of his past and get back to
spinning deals and adding to his investments. But when he comes face-to-face
with a gorgeous, handsy woman who is quite possibly the snarkiest and most
disorganized person he’s ever met, sparks fly, and his sharp mind stumbles. He
doesn’t even know her name, but he can’t get her out of his mind.
A chance encounter turns into a wild, sexy night, and their chemistry is off
the charts—even if their ideals, and their lives, are worlds apart. Neither
Jett nor Tegan is looking for more. Becoming friends with benefits seems like
the perfect solution. But when they are trapped together in torrential weather,
they work side by side in the aftermath, and every passionate kiss deepens their
connection. Secrets are shared, trust is built, and no promises dare be made.
As their lives move on, lines begin to blur, hearts get hurt, and their true
selves come into focus. Tegan and Jett are left wondering if they make the
perfect storm, or if they’ve reached the end of their bayside fantasy.

Deejay Mabel Bowen rocks the morning airwaves, but once she signs off, she’s happy going home alone; a long-ago humiliation taught her that women in the public eye should be cautious about dating. Then she meets the Clark Kent-ish accountant overseeing the sale of her radio station and starts wondering if she should break her own “girl, don’t date him” rules.
Since he was teenager, Jake Carey has worked to lift his family out of poverty, and he’s now on the verge of a promotion that’ll secure their financial future. Why, then, is he so quick to set aside his spreadsheets whenever the gorgeous morning show host is around? After years of using work as an excuse to avoid searching for emotional connections, he’s now jumping at every chance to spend time with Mabel and her maple syrup voice.
Despite their initial reservations, Mabel and Jake move from conversations over coffee to flirty office lunches to a night out that obliterates all their previously drawn lines. Then a professional betrayal sends Mabel fleeing back to the safety of her single-girl rules. But Jake isn’t ready to give up on this once-in-a-lifetime love and sets out to balance their work/life books. Can he convince Mabel to turn up the volume on their future, or will she decide that the numbers don’t add up?
Tempting Talk, a 2019 RWA© Golden Heart© award finalist, is book 3 in Sara Whitney’s funny, feisty contemporary romance series, Tempt Me. Turn on your favorite playlist and get reading!

That girl is single.
The thought materialized like the sharp clang of a bell. Single. It had only taken listening to Mabel’s radio show once for Jake to develop an appreciation for her fast wit, and now he couldn’t stop thinking about the fact that she was single.
But obsessing about that wasn’t what he’d been hired to do. He closed his eyes, pinched the bridge of his nose, and sucked in a breath, picturing that empty partner office on the fifty-sixth floor of his building that was waiting for him to fill it. The image helped push thoughts of Mabel’s voice from his mind, and he exhaled slowly, calm back in place.
“Everything okay?” Brandon was looking at him with curiosity.
“Yep.” Of course. He was reliable, work-first Jake Carey. The same as always.
“So who’d you leave behind in Chicago?” Brandon spoke as if Jake’s thoughts were printed above his head. “Wife? Girlfriend? Boyfriend?”
Thumb, meet another tender spot.
“Not even a potted plant,” Jake said flatly. “The job keeps me busy.” Which was true, even if it wasn’t the whole story.
Brandon just sighed. “God, you workaholics wear me out. At least I’ve got an ex pestering me about shared custody of the dog.” He pinned Jake with his sharp blue eyes. “Is it worth it?”
Brandon’s suddenly serious tone was a 180 from his normal flippancy, and Jake didn’t even have to think about the answer. “For a partner’s salary? Of course it’s worth it.”
Worth not pledging a fraternity in college so he could spend all his free time taking course overloads to graduate faster. Worth not investing time in his dating life, searching for relationships with the potential for more. Worth every skipped vacation, every weekend in the office, every family holiday where he’d paid for the meal but hadn’t left in time to eat it while it was hot.
Fuck, it had to be worth it.
“What a drag.” The man across from him shook his head as he tucked his phone into his pocket. “In your next life, I recommend being born rich.”
Jake huffed a laugh. How perfectly ridiculous and perfectly Brandon. “Sure. I’ll get to work on that.”
He might not have been born rich, but he’d busted his ass, and now he had a fat 401(k), a condo with a view of Lake Michigan, and enough in savings to allow him to sleep soundly at night. A partnership at his accounting firm would be the keystone in the life he’d been building from the moment he’d realized as a teenager that he wanted more for his worn-down mom and his hungry, big-eyed sister than constant money worries and a shitty walk-up apartment in one of Chicago’s bleakest neighborhoods. And if that required spending a few months sorting out the books at a downstate Illinois radio station, so be it. Nothing was going to knock him off course.
“Knock, knock.”
Jake’s shoulders tightened when the woman with the sharp brain and the supple voice invaded the office. How? How did Mabel summon goose bumps with only a handful of words? He dragged his eyes to the doorway to confirm that the blonde he’d met on Wednesday still vibrated with the same bright energy he’d first glimpsed through the studio window.
Single. The word resurfaced with another clang.

Clint Marino wasn’t the definition of a perfect catch. He was damaged, cruel…and carried the reputation of being many people’s worst nightmare. So how had he come into my life?
Simple.
I was a job he needed to complete.
But somewhere along the way, things became disjointed, confused. I found myself holding onto him instead of running away.
Did that make me naïve? More than likely. But after learning his weakness, I wanted to fix it. Seeing the blatant pain he tried to hide, I had an overwhelming desire to help.
I soon became enthralled, addicted to his broken pieces, blind to the storm headed our way.
When it hit, its impact was devastating, leaving me gasping for air…

“I had a shit day,” Valerie offered, holding the glass out to me.
She didn’t elaborate, and the curse word coming out of her mouth didn’t fit. It seemed forced, foreign.
I raised an eyebrow and motioned to my arm, trying to lighten the mood.
Tears filled her eyes. “I can see it would’ve been a lot worse if it wasn’t for you.”
I downed my glass, struggling to prevent the foreign emotions I felt. She was trying to break me with her tears. I needed her to stop, but she didn’t. I gritted my teeth, staring at her as she cracked in front of me.
“I thought I could do this, but I can’t,” she whispered more to herself than me. “Then you came along, Marino.” Her eyes lifted to mine. “You say few words, but I hear you loud and clear. You saved me twice, but I don’t understand what you want.”
I gripped the empty glass. Her words wouldn’t affect me. Wouldn’t dent the armor I wore proudly and effortlessly.
A young, innocent, timid girl wouldn’t break through my defenses. There was no way in hell.
She moved closer and touched my arm, assessing the damage. “We need to stitch you up. At least until you can get to a doctor.”
I closed my eyes. She was too close. I clenched my hand, fighting the urge.
“I’ll get the first aid kit.”
She turned to go the same moment I reached out and grasped her arm. I looked down at her, the closeness affecting her the same as it did me. Her response mattered much more than any woman previously.
She was broken, damaged just enough for my demons to ruin her if I got too close. I could protect her from the ones who wanted to kill her, but I couldn’t protect her from myself. I knew my worth. My struggles. My story was a classic, and Valerie wouldn’t be able to handle any of it if I decided to share my past. The first moment I held the gun in my hand. The kill igniting a flame. I became a demon, and no one was immune.
I clutched her arm tighter. She gasped as I pulled her against me. I leaned down just enough for our lips to touch. She moaned. That one sound pushed me over the edge, unleashing the desire I had for her since the beginning.
My obsession could be the end of me, but the second I tasted her, I didn’t care. Our tongues danced as we both let greediness overpower logic. My arm was no longer a concern as I lifted her to sit on the counter. I pulled back slightly nipping her neck, ear, eventually inhaling the lavender scent of her hair. She whispered words a man who deserved her would have loved to hear, but I wasn’t deserving, and hearing those words only made me realize how big of a mistake I was about to make.
Tainting her. Taking her.
It was almost as bad as a bullet slicing right through her, ending her life.
“I want love that leaves me breathless,” she whispered.
I gripped her hair tightly, staring deep into her hooded eyes. She trembled, and my dick instantly hardened. I yanked her body flush against mine.
“I’m not your fairy tale, princess, but I’ll gladly claim the title of your nightmare.”

My life was boring until I met him.
Painfully tedious, pathetically lonely, and I absolutely hated it.
But I was too scared to do anything about it. Too scared to change . . . at least until I met Kace.
I should have been terrified of him—scared of his size (he towered over my short, curvy self), freaked out by the fierce tats covering his arms and torso (they even crawled up his neck), and definitely frightened by the angry scowl he unleashed on anyone who dared to disrupt him (though this happened rarely, it still did happen).
Except, Kace seemed to like me—shy, boring, socially inept me. He couldn’t change the tats or the towering, but he rarely unleashed his trademark scowl on me.
Okay, so maybe it was more like he tolerated me, but regardless, Kace didn’t seem to care that I hung around the bar he worked at, putting my night owl tendencies to work as I wrote.
See, my work was the only place I explored. My safe place to write as dirty and steamy and kinky of books as I wanted.
My readers loved them—loved the hot sex, the tough alphas, the guaranteed happy endings. As thus, I made good money, only somewhat because I was a decent writer, but mostly because my imagination was very active, beyond active . . . some might even say too active.
As for me personally? I’d never experienced anything close to the types of things I wrote.
But I’d decided it was time to change that.
With scowly, sexy, terrifying Kace.
