Blurb
For as long as I could remember, Theodore West was in my
life as the support system I needed when my parents were too busy building our
family’s future.
He offered me shoes to dance on, a shoulder to absorb my
tears, and the harsh reality of where my life was leading when I was at my
lowest point.
And when the future my parents planned derailed after a
statewide scandal, I had no choice but to fantasize about one for myself that
didn’t involve them.
But Theo? He was always in it.
My father’s best friend.
The man who would undoubtedly end me if I didn’t end him
first.

“I’m surprised you
didn’t get sick of me always bugging you to dance then.” I’d been relentless
and he always did as I asked. My father joked I’d had him wrapped around my
finger, a place I wanted him to always remain, even if that was selfish.
“I didn’t mind.”
“You never used to—”
I squealed when he lifted me up and guided my feet to his shoes where they
rested as soon as he dropped me back down, then started laughing when he kept
dancing just like that. Like the old times.
“I enjoyed those
days, Della,” he told me honestly, his face drawing back ever so slightly until
his breath caressed the side of my face.
“You did?”
Half his lips
quirked up. “I did. Those were simpler times when there was nothing heavy to
worry about.”
I licked my lips as
his nose grazed mine. My heart sped in my chest as I closed my eyes again and
willed him to close the gap between our lips, but it never came. So I said,
“Things now are certainly complicated because of my father…”
His sigh was felt in
my soul, heavy and burdened, and I wanted to know his thoughts. “It isn’t just
your father that makes things complicated now.”
“It isn’t?”
A pause. “No, Della,
it isn’t.”

I heard footsteps behind me and realized I’d failed to elude him.
“What are you doing?” Chase asked, his hands gripping the straps on his backpack.
“You know what I’m doing.”
He released one of his straps and slipped his hand into mine.
My eyes shot down to where his big hand was linked with mine. I clenched
my teeth. “Let go.”
He shook his head as I tried releasing my hand.
“So, it’s been you all along?” I said.
“What?”
“The one I need to be careful of.”
He scoffed, before leading me away from the elevator.
“What the hell are you doing?” I asked, trying to resist him but he was
too strong.
He said nothing.
My eyes shot around. There was no one around to help me if I screamed.
I’d seen enough movies to know you never go to a second location with your
kidnapper.
He moved us through the high shelves filled with old books until we were
in a deserted corner of the library.
My heartbeat thrashed as he backed me into a wall, my backpack softening
the hard wall behind me. His hands landed on the wall above me and he kept me
still with the weight of his body.
“You are the most infuriating girl I’ve ever met,” he said, his blue eyes
staring into mine.
As nervous as I felt, I wouldn’t let him see my fear. “Then let me go and
you never have to see me again.”
“Oh, I wish it were that simple.”
I swallowed around the lump that had shot to my throat.
“I can’t stop thinking about you, Soph.”
My eyes widened.
“And it’s driving me fucking crazy.”

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000447_00006]

My best friend has spent the past several years traveling the world with Doctors Without Borders. It’s been her life’s dream and something I’ve always admired about her. But somehow, after twenty years of friendship, our last goodbye brought about the realization of a truth I hadn’t yet recognized.

I don’t just respect Jillian, I am in love with her, and it’s time she knows.

But upon her return home, she manages to lay her own shocking news on me before I can even form the words to tell her how I feel. It seems she needs access to the fortune her grandfather left her in his will. But there’s one problem.

The caveat being an antiquated, but ironclad stipulation that she can’t receive the funds unless she gets married and stays that way for eighteen months.

Naturally, I’m the only person she can trust with such a delicate arrangement. And I’m also hopelessly in love with her, so I’ll greedily take the chance to fake-marry my best friend.

This way, I can prove to her that we are meant to be more than just friends.

In a world of wreck and ruin, I was broken beyond repair.
City lights and colour were nothing more than places of hopeless dreams and dark shadows where I fought for survival—for a freedom that didn’t seem to exist.
Guilt and regret were all I knew—all I deserved—and I welcomed them with open arms, taking every hit that brought me to my knees.
I embraced the ghosts that weighed heavy.
I fed my demons with whiskey and aggression.
I was lost in the darkness of my own twisted mind with nothing and no one.
Until her.

She changed me.

She changed everything.

And I’ve never hated anyone more. I loathe her for making me fall.
KLJ lives in South West England just on the edge of Dartmoor where the moorland goes on for days. It’s beautiful, breath-taking and occasionally rather wet. New Release ~ Cherish ~ by ~ Evelyn Sola

He wasn’t Alexandra’s destiny as he didn’t fit her plan. She was too sassy to see Jason coming. Evelyn Sola is back with CHERISH, the second installment in The Clark Family series. Readers who love the unlucky in love trope will enjoy this diverse, light, and steamy romance.

Alexandra
I thought I finally had my life figured out. Fate? Destiny? I know mine. But one afternoon questioned everything I thought I knew.
Then it happened. Dr. Jason Dupree crashed into my life.
His eyes linger on me longer than they should in polite company. You see, there is nothing polite about him.
He’s arrogant and overconfident. His touch? It’s my undoing.
I let him know in no uncertain terms that he is not the man for me.
He is not my destiny.
And his reaction? Totally unexpected.

Jason
The things in my life that matter to me? It’s a short list. My career, a handful of family and friends. To call myself unlucky in love would be a gross understatement. Hence my list. It’s how I keep it all figured out.
Then one morning, that safe little list collides with my future.
Her eyes follow me everywhere, and they see through me like a soul x-ray. But it’s her touch that nearly brings me to my knees.
She doesn’t see it, though.

She’s full of denial and sass, and her stares are indignant. She’s a liar too. Telling me she’s interested in another man.
My reaction? Let’s just say she never saw it coming.

“Please, stop staring at me,” she says, her voice strained. She takes another sip of her drink and puts the cup against her neck.
I should look away. I can see the color creeping from her neck up to her face. I can see her pulse at the base of her neck. I can practically hear her heart beating in her chest.
“Get over yourself. Why don’t you stop looking at me?” I say, finally finding my voice.
“I’m not looking at you.” She angrily shoves two pickle slices into her mouth.
“Then how do you know I’m looking at you?” I challenge.
“Very mature. How old are you? Nine?” She rolls her eyes at me, but she doesn’t look away.
Her nostrils flare at the same time she pushes her food away. I don’t bother looking away. I look into her gray eyes before looking down at her mouth. I moan and lick my bottom lip at the sight of her breasts, pressed together underneath a shirt with sunflowers. I bite my bottom lip as I envision sucking one nipple after another.
“I’m not interested in you that way.” She says the words while looking straight ahead.
“I’m just sitting here waiting on my sister.”
“Arrogant,” she throws back at me.

New Release ~ Risk ~ by ~ Allie Juliette Mousseau

Title: RISK

Series: Brothers on Ink and Steel
Author: Allie Juliette Mousseau
Genre: Enemies to Lovers/2nd Chance Romance
Release Date: June 23, 2020
Cover Design: Allusion Graphics
USA Today Bestselling Author Allie Juliette Mousseau delivers a sexy, quick-witted and sassy enemies-to-lovers second-chance romance featuring one smoldering alpha attorney; a feisty, determined social worker; and three young orphans in trouble…

Saint Sophia the Mother of Orphans, help us!

Connor Callahan, once a North House teen who shed his own blood to become a Brother of Ink and Steel, is now a powerful attorney and the Twin Cities’ most eligible bachelor. He challenges stereotypes and melts panties with his rugged good-looks, colorful tattoos, and brazen piercings. When he’s handed the case of a lifetime with the promise of partnership in the firm he’s dedicated his career to, he knows his destiny is close.
Then he gets a glimpse of the familiar Saint Sophia pendant his opposing council wears, and he finds himself wondering… could it really be her, the girl he met as a teenager? He never thought he’d see the blond whirlwind again after she blew in and out of his life, but she was wholly unforgettable. Like a tattoo over his heart. If only he could get close enough to be sure it’s really her… but she’s never going to let that happen.
Elle Hayes despises the formidable Mr. Callahan and everything he stands for. Though he puts on an immensely charming act—and is hotter than the desert sun—she knows he’s a fake. There’s no way she’s going to let Callahan interfere with her objective: finding a home for the vulnerable orphans his client has torn apart.
Then an unexpected set-up has Connor and Elle playing house together for a week…
As the tension—and heat—revs up between them, they discover that they each have a whole lot more to lose than just a court case. Their hearts are on the line—and so much more.
But to experience the greatest things in life, we have to take the greatest risks.
RISK Brother of Ink and Steel (Book 4) is a standalone novel. There’s no need to read the earlier titles beforehand, but this book features charming cameos by title characters from the Brothers of Ink and Steel and True North Series. You’ll want to go back and read them all.

I’ve been watching my favorite distraction ever since I first discovered him working with the kids in the ring—teaching them how to box and better their mixed martial arts abilities—shortly after I started working at The Core. He’s here with them three days a week like clockwork. I’ve also seen him sparring with some of the other guys who seem to be regulars here too. You can tell they’re all friends by the way they hang out, laugh and mess with each other. They’re all gorgeous, but I’m drawn to my mystery… errr… distraction. His body is cut and sculpted with lean long muscles, while every inch of his exposed skin is etched with ink that ripples and moves with him like he’s an exotic tiger. His movements make the tattoo artist’s canvas come alive. The tats adorn every line and ridge, precisely cut against the muscle.
I want to get closer! I want to touch them! I want to touch him.My favorite tattoo is the black scrawling letters over his left ribcage that read, “I AM MY BROTHERS’ KEEPER.” What a beautiful mantra to live by.
I wonder if it’s his religion.Good God, he’s the definition of sex appeal. Any kind of day I’m having, everything starts looking up when I get a chance to watch him move.I’ve actually never seen his face. His nose and cheekbones are always hidden behind a padded, grilled face guard. So I’ve just had to imagine the face that goes with that amazing body.
He looks like an experienced fighter. His skin is stretched drum tight over taut muscles. Every inch of him is iron.
Christ, he’s hard all over.I shake my head to dissipate the musing of how hard that body could get under his shorts.
Back to G-rated fantasies! There are kids around, I scold myself. At least… PG-13.He shows the kid how to move, what muscles to put behind the punch. His side ripples in waves as he arches and stretches his ribs and shoulders, twisting to the side.
My eyes trail his movements, mesmerized.
It’s been so long since I’ve felt desire.
I’ve wanted to get close enough to see into his eyes, but I haven’t had the guts. He’d totally know I was checking him out if I did. So, I keep my distance. The thin boy sends a right hook against the man’s face—the puffy glove connecting to his equally padded face mask. I can’t help but laugh when he pretends the hit is hard enough to knock him off balance, as he stumbles over his feet dramatically, then acts as if he’s shaking it off.
The young boy jumps up and down and raises his arms in triumph.
This guy could be the man of my dreams.

Natalia
I hated him from the moment I first saw him.

Those bright blue eyes brought reminders of my biggest regret, my greatest loss, the thing that tortured me and had me struggling for control.
Each time I pushed him, he pushed back. Each time he touched me, something in me broke.
He would be the death of me, but I couldn’t stop.
Diesel
Her brothers brought me into their family. Gave me the one thing I needed more than anything else. Then they asked me to do something I wasn’t sure I could.
Take care of her.
She was trouble wrapped up in a gorgeous package, but I wanted to wrap her in my arms. Soothe her worries, calm her fears, show her what it felt like to let go.
The fire between us ignited. But as the walls burned down around me, I’d be forced to choose between the life I’d always known, and the love of my life.
Natalia stood in my way at the door, arms crossed at her chest. She was all power and authority, head held high like a princess. ’Cept the way she looked, her breasts pressed high, the dip between them on display like a gold medal prize? Took all I had not to drink her in. Not to rake my gaze over every last inch of her skin. The swell of her breasts. The smooth curve of her hips. That little pucker of her button bared at her midriff, just begging to be kissed.
My mouth dried up and my tongue grew thick. My body reacted with a twitch. Blood rushed south and my fingers itched to touch the fire that blazed deep in her eyes.
But I didn’t.
Couldn’t.
It was a hazard I couldn’t touch.
Trouble.
From day one, she was trouble.
My hair stood on end as I inched past her. Caught her gaze as she dragged her eyes up from my chest, but I pushed on, rushing past.
“You think I’m scared of you?” she questioned, voice like a bulldog as she chased me down the hall.
I stopped.
Turned.
Took a step backward into the wall as she pushed into my space.
“Nah, baby girl. You ain’t scared of no one but yourself.”
She took a step closer, hand pressed against my chest, shoving me into the cold cement. “What’s that supposed to mean?” she said on a scowl.
“Means whatever you need it to.”
She narrowed her eyes and I leaned toward her face. “You stand there looking down at me, judging from your tower? Pretending you ain’t got desire in your heart? I see you, little bird. You running scared from anything you can’t control.” My thumb dragged across her full bottom lip as a war raged behind those dark blue eyes.
Her lips parted. Her eyes closed. She sucked in a sharp breath.
Quick as a flash, her whole being awoke. She pulled back, swinging her fist at my face. I knocked it away, but she swung again. The back of her hand collided with my cheek, stunning me but not hurting too much. She swung again, harder this time. My hand caught hers, twisted her in her place. I swept my foot out, catching the leg that held her grounded to the floor.
Her tower toppled.
She began to fall.
I’d never let her break.
I pulled her back against my chest, one arm locked tight around her waist, my other arm pinning her arms across her chest. She squirmed. Raged. Energy crackled and snapped like electricity across a line. Her breath heaved, then held.
Her body melted against my own.
Felt every curve and swell as her heated body melded to mine. Felt that tension fade, the electricity sparking and holding strong. Felt the throb and twitch in my jeans against the tight curve of her ass. Felt her heartbeat pound out a steady beat against my chest.
I raised a shaky hand to her chin, tilting her face toward mine as I skimmed the tip of my nose along her cheek. Her quiet breaths came quick, her body leaning on me like she’d lost her strength. My lips brushed her skin, the taste of her so close.
“Don’t you worry, baby girl,” I whispered against her cheek, the tip of my tongue licking her sweat from my lips. “I’ll be here to catch you when you fall.”
She shuddered in my arms. Quick as it left her, that tension made a rebound. Shaking through her, rising up, an inferno devouring everything soft. It exploded out of her, her hands tearing at my skin as she made her escape.
Cold, cold eyes locked on mine. Her chest heaved, her face giving an angry twitch. Hands shoved hard at my chest and her gorgeous voice gave a quake as it tore through her throat. “Get away from me!”
She spun.
Ran, head down as she fled.
Like she couldn’t get away fast enough.

I shook my head, watching her go. Called after and her body jumped. “You keep pushing ever’body away, little bird, eventually there ain’t gonna be nobody left.”
Ellie Isaacson has been an avid reader her whole life, but a couple years ago she had a dream that she just couldn’t forget.
