Is it too late for our love? Defying Our Forever by Claudia Burgoa releases October 15th! Amazon — https://amzn.to/2Zw8nsF Universal — getbook.at/DefyingOurForever Apple — https://apple.co/33rwkTo Nook — https://bit.ly/3kaynBK Kobo — https://bit.ly/33rwWIG

USA TODAY Bestselling Author Claudia Burgoa delivers a funny, heartfelt, sometimes angsty romantic comedy where love begins anew. Fresh out of Vet school, I married Pierce Aldridge. Gorgeous, sexy, and smart. He’s a philanthropist with a heart of gold, or so I thought But after a while he became distant, self-centered, and callous. The man I married disappeared before my eyes. I should leave him, but I can’t do it just yet. There’s one thing I need but I can’t have it if I divorce him. Just a few more months… But my plans fall through when his father dies. The man was just as ruthless as his son. Now I can either spend eighteen months with Pierce in his hometown playing the happy couple or I could avoid the ordeal entirely if I sign the divorce papers. But I would lose the one thing I’ve been wanting my whole life. The more time that passes, the more I realize that maybe I’ve been wrong. Maybe the man I married is still there. The man I still love. But is it too late? The Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers series is a romantic comedy saga packed with the perfect mix of angst, tears, and laughs. If you like strong heroines & alpha males, steamy romances and witty love stories, this series is for you!

Cori Ross is thanking her lucky stars. Sure, her long-time boyfriend just dumped her, but that’s a good thing. In her rush to find Mr. Right, she realizes she almost settled for Mr. Just Okay. And that’s definitely not okay. So, tonight, she’s out with her friends at the Breakup Bash—a private party for women celebrating their break-ups—and she’s actually celebrating. Still, it was too close a call. So she makes a deal with herself—no guys for six months.
Unfortunately, just as she’s leaving the club, she runs into her old boyfriend, Grey Latham—the guy she’d always wanted to be Mr. Right. Great. What a time to swear off guys. Maybe she needs to change the deal—no relationships for six months. There’s no reason why she can’t have a fling, right? Because Grey still holds the title of the best sex she’s ever had.
There’s no way this could go wrong. Grey is on his way to international DJ fame—he’s only in town for a short time, and then he’ll be gone again. No harm in burning up the sheets while it lasts.
Too bad neither expected what happened next…

Grey backed her up against the rack on the left wall and gripped the edge of the shelf near the sides of her head. He leaned in, and his hard chest brushed against the sensitive tips of her breasts.
He pressed a kiss near her ear. “I’m not playing with you.”
Desire shallowed her breathing as she reached for the tucked edges of the towel. “No games here.”
The doorbell rang, and the front door lock disengaged.
Her hands froze, and Grey’s head snapped up.
The security system chimed with the opening of the door.
“Cori,” her mother called out. “It’s me.”
Panic blazed through Cori. In a matter of seconds, her mom would walk into the kitchen and see… She glanced down at Grey’s erection jutting out from the towel. Shit! Pushing past him, she whispered, “Stay here.”
“Wait—”
Cori rushed out, just closing the door behind her when Adina Ross came down the hallway.
“There you are.” Her petite mom, neat and comfortable looking in beige capri pants, a loose navy shirt, and matching flats, stuffed her keys in a navy shoulder bag as she walked into the kitchen. “Sorry for barging in and not waiting for you to answer the door, but I made the mistake of asking your favorite neighbor how she was doing.” Her mom’s light brown face was free of makeup. Soft creases formed at the corners of her eyes as she chuckled and gave Cori a brief hug. “That woman talked for ten minutes straight about her root canal. She was about to go into the neighborhood drama report before I finally got away from her.”
“But it’s Saturday. Don’t you have a standing hair appointment this afternoon?”
Her mom smoothed a hand over her ebony hair that was pulled back into a ponytail. “I’m on my way there, but I needed to talk to you first. What were you so busy doing that you couldn’t call me back?”
“I ran into a friend I hadn’t seen in a while. We were out late catching up.”
“And this morning?”
Images from earlier flashed in Cori’s mind of her and Grey on the couch…and of him standing in her pantry closet wearing nothing but a towel and a hard-on. Well, he probably didn’t have the hard-on anymore.

My ears are flooded with the noises spewing from the intercom, frustrating my subconscious. The constant borage of feet pattering along the halls, totally disregarding my belligerent sobbing, only encourages the anger that’s slowly building within me. Sobbing that becomes obnoxiously louder the more I think of her smile. Her embrace. Her soft touch against my thick, hardened exterior. A touch that will never be felt again. All because of choices I made. Decisions that kept me from being by her side and bringing us here. A place I’ll never return to that’s full of saddened, lonely people facing life-altering decisions. Just as I have. A decision that has been taken from me because we weren’t married yet. So, her heartless fucking parents made that irrevocable decision to pull the plug. Exiling my pleas to hold off and give her more time. More time to fight … for her life … for us … for me. But, those pieces of shits don’t even acknowledge my need to keep her alive. Regardless of what the doctors say, they are not always right. They can actually be wrong. But as it turns out, they are all against me. I am the one that’s wrong. Well fuck them! Fuck their judgments. Fuck their forsaken attitudes. Fuck their cavalier convictions. Fuck. Them.
I slowly peel myself up from the hospital floor, wiping the remaining tears from my face ignoring the dampness of my torn t-shirt. I stand across from her room, staring through the glass watching her life drain from her body. Her parents laying across their daughter, crying just as hard as I was on the outside… but I know what lies beneath those outlying emotions. Emotions that I learned were false many years ago. Emotions that propelled their daughter directly into my arms. And what signed her DNR, in my opinion. But they’ll get what’s coming to them. One way or another. Even if it takes my own knife wielding hands.

About Cam
Cam Johns began her career as a published author in 2016 with the release of her first book – Arousing Consequences – to the trilogy, The Arousing Series. However, actually publishing wasn’t part of her plan. After her husband was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, she found that writing became a great way to relieve the tension and mounted pressures that come with watching someone she loves suffer from such a harsh diagnosis. It was her husband that pushed her to share her voice, regardless of how erotic that voice would become.
Live. Love. Laugh. A well-known mantra that has become her way of living. Live, by accepting the things you cannot change. Love, the ones closest to you as if there’s no tomorrow. Laugh, each day because sadness will get you nowhere!
