Fair warning, you NEED to read book 1: Obsession first! Otherwise the whole storyline between Carter, Vladimir and Boris won’t make any sense. Also, note that these are Russian mafia aka Bratva so there are some disturbing scenes/situations described.
I still can’t decide if I like Vladimir. After how things were left in book 1, I was definitely not a fan of him and his lifestyle. But then in book 2, you start to understand more about what happened.
And how the whole Bratva relationship is, bothered me a little. But I truly believe it’s meant to evoke that reaction and let’s be honest, this is the mafia, they aren’t known for being cuddly creatures.
There is a cliffhanger so I need book 3 just to see how it all plays out!
