TITLE : Forgetting The Past
AUTHOR : Brenda Kennedy
GENRE : Soft Romance
RELEASE DATE : August 9, 2016
When Ava Emerson wakes up from a coma, she has no memory of the past 25 years. The only things she knows are the confusing stories told to her by her split family and her two best friends, Chase and Skylar. Learning that her husband, Connor, died in the car accident that caused her amnesia, Ava is sad and heartbroken.
When her nightmares become terrifying memories, Ava becomes determined to move on and start a new life for herself, away from the town that holds the secrets to her past.
With the encouragement of Chase, Ava and Skylar open a bed and breakfast together in the heart of Savannah, Georgia.
When a tall, dark, and handsome Xander Jamison walks into her life, will Ava feel safe enough to let him into her broken and empty life? Will Ava be able to move on and live her life free of a haunting past? Is Xander the man that Ava thinks he is? Or does he hold his own secrets?
∗∗∗∗∗ This is book 1 in an all new series, The Forgotten Trilogy by Brenda Kennedy, and is not meant to be read as a stand – alone. Book one does end in a cliff – hanger. Books 2 and 3 are scheduled for later release this year.
WOW. Just WOW. The blurb tells you it’s going to be a wild ride and boy, was it.
Ava wakes up from a coma and remembers nothing about her life for the past 25 years. Which truthfully terrifies me. Moving on….
Ava starts to live life again, in a new city, with a new business. Until Xander walks in to her life. Which I love the name Xander – possibly from Buffy the Vampire Slayer series.
Know that this is a cliffhanger start to the trilogy so don’t get mad when the book ends!
5 stars!

Wall Street meets the Sons of Anarchy in Hard Rules, the smoldering, scorching first novel in the explosively sexy new Dirty Money series from New York Times bestselling author Lisa Renee Jones.
How bad do you want it? The only man within the Brandon empire with a moral compass, Shane Brandon is ready to take his family’s business dealings legitimate. His reckless and ruthless brother, Derek wants to keep Brandon Enterprises cemented in lies, deceit, and corruption. But the harder Shane fights to pull the company back into the light, the darker he has to become. Then he meets Emily Stevens, a woman who not only stirs a voracious sexual need in him, but becomes the only thing anchoring him between good and evil.
Emily is consumed by Shane, pushed sexually in ways she never dreamed of, falling deeper into the all-encompassing passion that is this man. She trusts him. He trusts her, but therein lies the danger. Emily has a secret, the very thing that brought her to him in the first place, and that secret that could that destroy them both.
Elegant young man in tuxedo looking down while sitting on a stool, on grey studio background.
Hard Rules is an AMAZING start to what I’m sure will be an AMAZING series! Know up front, this ends in a cliffhanger to end all cliffhangers but it’s such an awesome buildup!
The Brandon family is like Shane says repeatedly, Eff’d up. Royally. You don’t know who you can or can’t trust. I was constantly revising “whodunit” in my head because each time I had it figured out, something changed.
I’m not going to tell you too much about the relationship that Shane and Emily have other than it being pretty all-consuming, which is hard when Shane is trying to fix his family empire.
I can’t wait for more!!!

Eric Callahan is a powerful man, and his sharp business sense has earned him the nickname Shark. Yet under the strict façade is a man who loves his daughter and would do anything for her. When he and his daughter move to San Francisco for three months, he has one thing in mind: expanding his business on the West Coast. As a widower, Eric is not looking for love. He focuses on his company, and his daughter.
Until he meets Pippa Bennett. She captivates him from the moment he sets eyes on her, and what starts as unintentional flirting soon spirals into something neither of them can control.
Pippa Bennett knows she should stay away from Eric Callahan. After going through a rough divorce, she doesn’t trust men anymore. But there’s something about Eric that just draws her in. He has a body made for sin, and a sense of humor that matches hers. Not to mention that seeing how adorable he is with his daughter melts Pippa’s walls one by one.
The chemistry between them is undeniable, but it’s the connection that grows deeper every day that has both of them wonder if love might be within their reach.
When it’s time for Eric and his daughter to head back home, will he give up on the woman who has captured his heart or will he do everything in his power to remain by her side?
I love the Bennetts! They’re all a hysterical group but you also see how much they care for each other.
Eric and his daughter Julie are just in San Francisco for 3 months while he is expanding his company onto the West Coast. He’s not looking for a relationship nor does he have the time for one. Until he meets Pippa who doesn’t want a relationship either but they’re still wildly attracted to one another. Even when the Bennetts and Julie are doing their damndest to get them together.
This was a funny and sweet read. If you like family series that are interconnected, the Bennetts are for you!

Each book in the Sorensen Family series is a standalone, full-length story that can be enjoyed out of order. Series Order: Book #1 Her Backup Boyfriend Book #2 Her Accidental Husband Book #3 The Playboy’s Proposal
I love these friends/neighbors to lovers books. Especially when they are so against each other like Benny and Henry are. Plus I love a good makeover book. Or movie. And Henry is making over Benny to be the woman for the man of her dreams. Of course Henry and Benny will end up falling for each other.
I can’t wait to read more of the Sorensens’ stories!

Man of Honor – Excerpt
“Not necessarily, but I wouldn’t mind,” Zeke replied truthfully. “Honor, darlin, you’re a gorgeous woman.”
“Not without my clothes,” she mumbled, bending her head to stare at her clenched fists. “Ugly,” she muttered. “I’m ugly.”
Tensing, Zeke’s jaw clenched. “I don’t know why the hell you’re saying that, but there’s not a single ugly thing about you. Not when you’re naked. Not when you’re tryin’ to bring yourself to release. Not ever, Honor Grace. You do not ever have to be ashamed of your body.”
Honor slowly lifted her mortified gaze to him. “You’ve never seen me without my clothes, Zeke. There are scars. So many scars. They’re raised and bumpy. Some are red and raw. It’s disgusting, Ezekiel.”
“Bullshit. Every single one of those marks remind me of one thing, Honor. One,” he growled, holding up a finger between them. “You lived. You survived. When all the odds were stacked against you, you defied modern medicine and every one of those damned doctors predictions, and you lived. And all those scars will ever do is remind me of how lucky I am to still have you. Don’t you ever tell me you’re ugly because you’re the most beautiful thing in my world. You wanna be scared to share your body with me because of what happened to you? I get that. I can accept that. But worrying about some marks on your flesh? I love you, baby, but that’s insane.”
Honor stared at him a long time, gauging his sincerity. “It doesn’t feel silly,” she finally grumbled.
“You need to reassess your feelings then because I assure you, it’s one of the silliest concerns you ever had. Christ, baby, how long have you been agonizing of a worry as pointless as your scars?” he asked, shoving a frustrated hand through his dark hair. “I could have put these fears to rest ages ago, Honor, if I’d known about it.”
“It’s hard to talk about,” she revealed in a low voice as her head twisted to look at him.
“Yeah? Is feeling like shit alone better than talking it over together with me?” he returned calmly, reaching up to tenderly tuck her hair behind one ear. “Baby, you gotta start getting this. When you hurt, I hurt. When you suffer, I suffer right along with you. Don’t make either one of us feel that way needlessly, Kitten. Just talk to me. I know you have scars. You’ve got them on your body, and you’ve got them on your soul. I’ve sat by your hospital bed too many times to count and watched you while you did your damnedest to heal them both. Those wounds are not new information to me and they don’t change shit. I still love you, and I don’t allow those scars to do anything other than remind me to treasure every day I have with you. Okay?”
Honor’s eyes were soft as they locked with Zeke’s. “You really do love me a lot, don’t you?” she asked in a small voice.
“So much that I ache with it, Honor.”
Holy cow! This book! This series! I guarantee this review cannot do this book justice! So much happens in this book! You’re heartbroken, pissed, laughing and in love. Honor has lived through hell. Way more than what one person should EVER have to go through. And Zeke. All through it Zeke has been there, supporting, loving, and protecting Honor. It’s almost overwhelming just reading all he’s willing to do and has done for her.
And her aunt Orla? Holy cow is that woman hysterical!

Sarah O’Rourke is the alter ego of two best friends who have taken their passion for romantic fiction and erotica to the publishing world. Born and raised in the southern United States, one lives near Louisville, KY, while the other resides in Atlanta, Georgia. Neither is ever very far from a tall glass of sweet iced tea, their dog-eared copies of Gone With the Wind, or their Steel Magnolias DVDs!

She’s out of her rut, out of her sweatpants, and out on the town.
Claire Parelli has been liberated!
Back to living it up in the Big Apple with her best friends, Claire embarks upon her dream career during the day, and steams up her nights with Daniel Chase, a.k.a. Mr. Beautiful, Hollywood’s hottest leading man. Life is simply perfect.
But for how long?
Claire knows all too well that fairy tales just don’t exist, even if she does have Fairy Slutmothers on her side. Real-life comes with real problems that don’t simply vanish with a quick flick of the wand. So this time around Claire discovers that it isn’t just a matter of trust—it’ll be a moment of truth.
Bridget makes a mini-show of sliding her coat off her shoulders, and there is no shortage of jaws dropping, watching her. She’s extraordinarily sexy, she’s fun, and she owns it. It’s inspiring, really. If only she could bottle it, she’d be filthy rich. Camille does the same, but more in the I’m-going-to-kick-your-ass way. She’s fierce and strong, but every bit feminine. They hand their coats to the coat check attendant, and I stand there, clutching mine closed. Camille and Bridget wait for me, but I’m feeling naked. Exposed. I can’t possibly take it off!
“Come on, Claire,” Bridget says, nudging me.
I start to move into the crowd with her.
“Coat, Claire,” Bridget says, pointing at the coat check and rolling her eyes.
“I can’t. I’m naked.”
“You’re not naked. Take off your coat.” Bridget’s hands are on her hips.
I frown at her and shake my head, but she comes at the buttons, undoing them for me. I try to swat her hands away, but then Camille starts tugging at the coat, too.
“No. No, no, no, no, no,” I mumble, but I’m losing this fight. They’re giggling now. Hell, we’re all giggling. The next thing I know, Bridget’s handing over my coat to the attendant, and I’m living the nightmare of being naked in public. I want to cover up, but my two hands won’t get me far. “You two suck.”
“You’re fine,” Bridget says, swatting my ass. “And it’s not like the whole bar just saw us wrestle the coat off you . . . oh wait, yes they did.” She laughs.
I LOVED this book! After book 1, I NEEDED more! So much so that instead of cleaning my apartment, I was reading. So now it’s almost midnight on Sunday/Monday and I have a filthy living room that needs vacuuming. And I don’t regret it for a second!
I love Dan and Claire and their romance. And Claire’s crazy friends and Dan’s friends. They’re all just such a fun group!
I wish there was more because I love these characters but everyone’s story is wrapped up so you don’t have unanswered questions.
5 stars!
Ruby’s thoughts are everywhere. To harness the madness, she gave her loudest characters a playground to frolic in. Q.T. Ruby invites you to come play too!
Author Note: This can be read as a stand alone; however, it is recommended to read prior novels first.
I’m an asshole; I know it, and I’ve never pretended to be anything else. I have a crazy flip switch temper but it made me the man I am today. I’m at the top of my game, a fighter with a reputation of a battler in the ring and an alpha in the bedroom.
I don’t have to chase women; they chase me. When I’m done with them, they’re left craving more. I’ve never needed more – never wanted more.
Until…her.
I’ve never wanted anyone so badly before, but my attraction to her could kill her.
Is the temptation worth the risk?
****Warning: This book contains strong sexual content, violence, and foul language. Intended for ages 18 and over. *****
The warm rays of the bright sun shine through the window as the morning draws near. The light hits my eyes, causing them to open slowly as my body wakes steadily. Blurred vision greets me as my grogginess from lack of sleep settles in. Rubbing my eyes awake, I open them, taking in my surroundings.
Remembering the events of the night before, I recall that I’m in Harley’s room. Her briefcase is nestled on the desk, her jewelry is displayed on the nightstand, and her robe is neatly folded next to the bed.
My head turns to face her and I see she’s still asleep, in the same position she was in last night. Twisting my body to face her back, I inch closer to her as she sleeps, desperately trying to not wake her up. My eyes roam, watching the gorgeous brunette sleep next to me. Her long dark hair lays across her shoulder and along the pillow. As I inch forward, a hint of coconut shampoo fills my nostrils.
Fighting the urge to touch her, my eyes study her face. A few beauty marks on her cheek coincidently form a triangle, causing a smile to form on my lips. Inching slowly, desperate to feel her skin on my fingertips, my hand moves closer to her bare shoulder. The tips of my fingers graze her soft skin as tingles electrify me from just the tiniest touch. With caution, my hand trails down her shoulder toward her arm in a sensual fashion. Memorizing every inch, every iota of her skin, I relish in this brief moment.
Just as I bend my head to press a soft kiss on her shoulder, the alarm buzzes, startling me as my hand retreats away from her body and under the covers. She groans awake while reaching over toward the nightstand to shut it off and rubbing her eyes.
I yawn, pretending I’m just waking up as well, and do a pretend stretch just to be on the safe side.
Taylor and Harley’s story is surprising. That’s the best word I can think of to describe it. Taylor is an MMA fighter who is a sore loser one night and ends up in jail. Enter Harley, his best friend’s lawyer coworker, sent to bail him out. They’ve met before but I won’t tell you where. Just suffice it to say that Harley doesn’t have the highest regard for Taylor.
Harley is a great attorney, smart and dedicated and doesn’t need some oversexed, obnoxious fighter taking up her time. Until they both need each other…
A great story where so much happens! There’s a little something for every type of reader.

Excerpt
I woke the next morning with a faint pounding in the back of my head. Scrubbing at my face, I glanced down to find myself twisted in the sheets. I sighed and stretched, feeling sore in a wide, new array of places. As my fingers traced circles in the softness of the fabric, the fog lifted and my less than moral actions from last night combusted in my memory. I slowly turned to see the handsome stranger from last night soundly asleep beside me. Well, at least I didn’t have rose-tinted glasses. The man was definitely what my sister, Taylor, would call “fine.” He had a perfectly chiseled face, muscles that were rock hard and well sculpted, and big hands. And I knew their size matched up with another large member on his divine body…
I tore the sheet off me and sat up in bed, startled to find I was wearing nothing but my birthday suit. Here I was in all my naked glory. I looked around for my clothing. To my horror, I saw my dress was on the floor in multiple pieces. Jenson had apparently shredded it. In a frantic panic, I found a large New England Red Bulls jersey and tossed it over my head. I couldn’t wear just this jersey, even though it was longer than that flimsy fabric I was wearing last night.
I needed to get out of there. I quickly went to the bathroom to make sure I didn’t look like a morning after nightmare. I found a new toothbrush tucked in a drawer.
I finished my teeth and ran a brush through my hair, thinking it looked especially wild this morning. I grabbed a lock and pulled it across my nose, taking a whiff and expecting to find the scent of stale cigarette smoke.
Instead, I was hit with a wave of heady arousal.
Notes of leather and spice filled my nostrils. Ice-blue eyes. A reckless mop of dark hair.
Oh God.
“What did I do?” I squeaked before tracing my lips with my fingertips, feeling slightly bruised from too much kissing. I didn’t think I’d had that much to drink, but apparently the shots and the music and everything about him had gone to my head. Snapshots of last night flooded me. I didn’t do things like this, impersonal sex was never on my agenda, what was I thinking?
“Shit.”
I ran out of there like a bat out of hell, with nothing on but a soccer jersey.
Damn. Shit. Fuck.
I love these quick, insta-love, uber sweet, stories!
Bethany is, by her words, a nerd. She’s happier studying for her classes and papers than partying like her older sister. Until one night her sister convinces her to go out. And there is where she meets Jenson.
Jenson is out at a bar, just relaxing after a long day when he sees Bethany. And HAS to talk to her. Jenson knows that Bethany isn’t like any girl he’s met before and likes his “anonymity” that he has because Bethany doesn’t know of his fame.

After she catches her cheating ex with her friend, in Georgia’s apartment no less, she visits her brother in his sleepy lakeside town to regroup. Her first night at Fox Lake and she finds the Drunken Duck pub and puts her plan into motion. Almost.
Will Calder is looking for the real deal. He’s done with the short-term flings and wants to find a woman ready for everything he has to offer. Will’s determined to show Georgia more than just a single night of debauchery and he’ll do everything in his power to keep her close.
Georgia’s going to find Will’s idea of the perfect woman isn’t what she expected. She’ll have to face her own insecurities to land the sexy contractor or settle for the vacation fling she anticipated.
Warning: Contains a curvy woman with a geeky streak and the contractor out to win her heart. Expect a sexy romp with a man who knows how to work with his hands.
Georgia Burke slipped a hand down her hip, smoothing her favorite skirt in place as the summer breeze whipped across the lake. The last thing she needed was to flash the Drunken Duck patrons on the patio a look at her girly bits. Granted, they were covered in her sexiest pair of cream lace panties, and she was here to pick up a hot man to do the dirty with, but her newfound brazen spirit only went so far.
If she was lucky it would actually survive until she ordered a drink at the bar.
Georgia’s confidence crumbled as she made her way to the front entrance of the pub and a group of guys on the patio started laughing. Two pointed at her and the third whipped his head around to see her. They all had classically good looks, short hair and lean muscles behind fitted t-shirts. Young. They snickered at her expense again, but she squared her shoulders and moved into the interior of the pub.
Fuck them and their frat boy mentality.
Women came in all shapes and sizes, and if they expected every female to fit their version of sexy, they were going to be sorely mistaken when they got out in the real world.
Georgia put a little extra swing into her walk as she gathered her confidence again. She had great tits and a curvy build with no shame in showing off. It might’ve taken years to find that confidence, only to have it knocked back by her last boyfriend, but she wasn’t letting any man dictate how she felt about herself ever again.
Fuck that and fuck them.
And with that final thought, she took her size sixteen ass straight to the mahogany bar and ordered a very nice local craft beer on tap. The little pixie behind the bar served it up without fuss and started Georgia a tab.
While she was sipping at her beer and scoping out the crowd, a body bumped into her right arm. The beer splashed down the front of her fitted, white shirt, highlighting the lace bra underneath for anyone to see. After setting her half empty beer down, Georgia turned to face the guy who had yet to apologize or acknowledge he was most definitely in her personal space. It might be a Friday night on the lake, but it was still relatively early and the place wasn’t busting at the seams yet.
It was one of the college boys from the patio. He had a self-satisfied smirk on his face, staring down Georgia’s top but never really looking at her face.
“Nice rack for a fat chick.”
Before she could speak up, the petite bartender scooped up her glass and handed over a stack of bar napkins. “Apologize to the lady.”
“It was an accident.”
The bartender, all five feet nothing of her, leveled the kid across from her with a glare that could melt the skin off his face and said, “Acting like a dick in my bar will get your ass kicked out. Now apologize.”
“Babe, this isn’t even your bar. And I’m a paying customer. No one’s kicking me out.”
Georgia raised a lone eyebrow at the kid’s audacity, but the bartender across from her just threw her head back and laughed. And laughed some more.
When she dropped her head back down there wasn’t any lingering humor on her face. She was all business and looked a little bit deadly.
“That mountain standing behind you,” she lifted a finger to point at a very severe, and very large, man that appeared behind the frat boy, “is my husband.”
“Molly?”
Georgia did a double take when the massive man slapped a hand down on the kid’s shoulder. He was tall, well over six feet, built like a brick house, and completely bald. Dead sexy as well. But that was all secondary to how quickly the frat boy paled when he turned to face Molly’s husband.
“Cal, be a doll and show this dick and his friends off the property.”
The kid sputtered as Cal led him away with a firm grip without another word.
Georgia turned around and faced Molly behind the bar. “Thanks, but you didn’t have to kick anyone out because of me.”
Molly frowned. “Honey, those fucking clowns needed to go. They’re predators and it was just a matter of time before Cal throat punched them. It was my pleasure.”
Even though she smiled, Georgia didn’t know what to say in response to that, so she just started to mop up her wet shirt.
“You vacationing here? Haven’t seen you around before.”
“My brother lives here and I’m house sitting while he’s road tripping with my nephew. I just got in this afternoon.”
“You’re Dane Burke’s kid sister? Georgia, right?”
Georgia’s head snapped up. “You know Dane?”
Molly shrugged. “Small town. He’s neighbors with a good friend of mine. Nice guy. Great kid.”
“Yeah, they’re both pretty great.”
“Welcome to Fox Lake.” She paused, placing a fresh beer down. “Your neighbor in the bungalow is Emma Rae, and her man is Gabe. You let any of us know if you need something while you’re here.”
Georgia nodded, then sat back and took in the petite woman. Small town hospitality at its finest. She might actually like it here. “I appreciate that. I’m a little out of my element right now.”
Molly leaned forward and rested her arms on the bar before speaking. “Stop back in through the week sometime. It’s typically quieter, and I’ll buy you a drink. We’re going to be friends, chick.”
Georgia let a slow smile spread across her face. “I’d like that, Molly.”
“Good. I’ll be back to check on you in a bit. Crowds going to be picking up soon.” She slapped a hand down on the bar before walking away.
Georgia scanned the area again. It looked like everyone was paired off or in groups. So much for her grand plan to score a hot guy for some dirty sex. It was probably a dumb idea anyway. Just because you found your jerk boyfriend sticking it in your friend, in your bed, and in your apartment, doesn’t mean snapping up a random dude at a bar was a good idea.
But it definitely sounded like fun.
This was a quick, sweet read. I just love Georgia! Here she is trying to get her groove back and get her a 1-night stand and the guy she picks us the forever guy who is enamored with her as soon as he sees her. A great start to a new series I’ll be keeping an eye on!
5 stars!
