This book was a little different for me as it didn’t have the conventional HEA as I’m used to. But that didn’t detract from it. And that’s all I’m saying about the ending.
Sophie is an introverted innocent, recent high school graduate and computer genius. She spends her days with computers and hacking as she hasn’t made any friends since she was 10.
Preston is a billionaire and lead of The Alliance, an exclusive group of hackers that Sophie desperately wants to get into. Preston teaches Sophie more about hacking and Sophie finds Preston as a way to explore her limited experiences. And Sophie ends up getting more confidence and friends, so she’s got a win win!

I re-read Sweet Dreams just to get back into the Sugar Rush Candy Company zone.  And I’m glad I did.  These Stone men are so yummy!  And you really need to read book 1 to understand book 2.  The characters overlap and they’re just so sweet!  <- See what I did there?

While Luke was alpha, control freak; Evan has heart.

Hannah is taking one for the team and looking over Wild Child while Polly is in France learning French pastry baking.  Hannah has self-described wanderlust and always wants to keep moving, finding the next blog post, the next picture or geographic wonder.

Evan has been trying to get Luke out of the company and give him a chance for years.  Now he’s got the chance to run Sugar Rush and keep an eye on Hannah so Luke and Poppy can enjoy France.  Little does Luke know that Evan has BOTH eyes on Hannah.

This was a sweet and funny story about 2 unlikely people who are just trying to change how their family sees them.  And maybe fall in love.  I can’t wait to see which brothers’ story is next!  Maybe Adam??

Release Day Blitz & Review ~ Room Service ~ by ~ Poppy Dunne

We’re celebrating the release of ROOM SERVICE by Poppy Dunne! Check out the excerpt and teaser below!

ROOM SERVICE

Adult Contemporary Romantic Comedy

Goodreads

I’ve spent seven nights cooped up in this five star hotel, sleeping on 1000 thread count sheets and working sixteen hours a day. At least room service is covered under my expense account. But all work and no play leaves a girl dateless for her brother’s wedding.
Prospects aren’t totally bleak, though. Four meals a day, I get to drool over this sexy room service guy: he’s got a perfect body, easy smile, and a sense of humor that has me snorting over my personal pizza. He’s all that and a bag of chips. Specifically, the jumbo bag of ranch barbecue chips that I ordered for breakfast out of desperation on Day Four.
I finally found the courage to ‘accidentally’ let my bathrobe slip, and ask him to be my plus one at my brother’s wedding. So maybe I had to offer him a little money. So what? There’s no way I can face my family, make my ex rue the day he left me, or screw off this work stress without his helping hand.

But what happens when I find myself falling for my fake, paid-for boyfriend? Judging by the comped mozzarella sticks he brought me for breakfast, maybe there’s a chance he’s falling for me too?

Excerpt:
“Really? She’s never mentioned you before,” Mom purrs. But damn it, Ben’s ready for her.

“I wanted to tell everyone right away, but she waited. That’s one of the things I love about her—how wise she is. When you have something special, you take it slow.” Then he leans down and presses his lips to my cheek, just a whisper of a touch. Instantly, and startlingly, my insides kind of gel together. Thank god he’s holding me up. “That’s part of the reason I’m so excited to meet all of the family now. You should be so proud of your daughter.”

His confident smile is killing Mom right now. He’s throwing a bucket of water on her, and we’re watching as the witch melts down to a cream pair of Manolo Blahniks and a spilled cosmopolitan.

Her horror at being unable to mock me gives me life. It spurs me on. Move in for the kill, Alex. I grip Ben by his lapel.

“You always know just what to say,” I murmur, trying to sound kittenish. Then I get up on my tiptoes and kiss him.

It’s supposed to be a moment to make Mom uncomfortable and get out of our faces. But the second our lips connect, a hot spark shoots through my body. Instead of freezing or shoving me away—which Ben could do, because I’m borderline assaulting him right now—he pulls me closer. Our bodies melt together.

My head tips back and I inadvertently sigh into his mouth, my lips opening just a little, and that’s when I feel his tongue trace my lower lip, then stroke against mine just hard enough to make my pulse race. There’s nothing in our verbal contract that mentions making out, but I can’t stop myself from reaching up my arms to twine around his neck. As we kiss his hands slide down my back, a little possessive. I think I’m getting dizzy. Man, this guy is a good actor.

He trails his fingers just above the curve of my ass, too. Classy, but still enough to make an onlooker a little uncomfortable. Bullseye. We break apart, even though part of me would like to stay locked to his face. Mom’s gulped down her drink in one go, clearly desperate to get the hell away from her daughter’s happiness. It feels good.

“Well. You two have a pleasant evening.” She says it like we’re a pair of strangers whom she just walked in on to find screwing in a corner of the bathroom. “Go find Rollie before you…do whatever it is you do.” I want to say ‘have sex in the front hall,’ but think better of it. She walks away from us, stiff-kneed and red-faced. My mother tried to embarrass me and got it thrown right back in her face. It’s like Christmas in February.

Though watching her walk away like I just stripped in front of her is kind of like a stiletto to the heart. Since Todd and I broke up—hell, since I took myself out to California and basically flipped her kind of life the double bird—she’s been distant. At least, more distant than she used to be. I can’t help wishing she could just be happy for me and the man I paid to be my date. Is that so much to ask?
TBRreview
This book bore a striking resemblance to the movie The Wedding Date. Busy female executive needs a date to her sibling’s wedding, in which her ex will be attending. So she hires a gigolo to be her date so her stuffy family doesn’t pity her. In this story, she hires a bellboy from her hotel to be her date.
Alex is a little bit crazy and talks to herself mentally and it’s quite funny what she inner monologues.
This was a good story and a quick read. I read it before bed and didn’t have to stay up late to read it. I’ll have to look out for more from this author.

Excerpt:

She was leaning over into the trunk to gather up as many bags as she could carry when a voice behind her surprised her. “You need some help?”

She straightened up with a jerk, turning to see a man beside her wearing faded jeans and a white T-shirt. He looked to be in his thirties. He needed to shave and his brown hair was too long, and he had the rough look of a man who worked with his hands. He’d startled her so much she just stared at him. “What?”

“Do you need some help?” he asked again, gesturing toward her trunk. “Carrying all that in?”

She frowned. Who the hell was this guy? And did she really look so helpless that she couldn’t unload her own trunk by herself. “Oh. No. I’ll be okay. Thank you.” Several bags were already hooked over her arms, so she gave him an absent smile and turned to walk up the steps to the front door.

She had some trouble getting her key into the door with the bags on her hand, but she’d almost gotten the door unlocked when she suddenly felt someone behind her, swinging open the storm door that had been propped against her back.

She gave a little squeal of surprise as she turned to see the man she’d thought she’d dismissed. He had twice as many bags hooked over his arms as she was able to carry.

“I’m Rob West,” he said with a slight mountain drawl in his deep voice. “I’m your neighbor across the street.”

She felt flustered now and annoyed that a strange man was walking into her house as if she’d invited him. “Okay, but I said I could get the bags by myself.”

“I was already over here. Why shouldn’t I help?”

Because she’d said she didn’t need his help. Any basically civil person would have respected her wishes. She really hoped everyone wasn’t as rude and pushy as this man was.

“Where’s all your furniture?” Rob asked, looking around the empty house after he’d dumped his load of bags on her kitchen counter.

“It’s in the basement. I just got here today.”

He focused his gaze on her, looking her up and down. His eyes were actually quite nice—a really deep, melting brown. “Are you Chris and Sharon’s girl?”

She was startled by the question, but then realized that, if he lived across the street, he’d probably known her parents.  “Yes.”

“I thought you lived in the city.” He glanced down at her left hand, and she realized he was looking for a wedding ring.

She’d taken off her rings six months ago. “I’m moving here now.”

He nodded slowly, as if trying to piece together her situation, something he had no business knowing. “Well, welcome to town. I’ll get the rest of your stuff.”

“I don’t need any—” she began.

He just ignored her, striding back outside as if she hadn’t spoken. Arthur had done that all the time—completely disregard what she was trying to say. She hated it.

Rob might be a small-town, blue-collared guy, but he obviously wasn’t all that different from Arthur at heart.

He came back into the house a minute later with another huge load of bags. She couldn’t help but notice he had really good shoulders, and his biceps were very impressive, clearly visible beneath his shirt sleeves as he held the bags. He set them on the opposite counter and then turned to look at her. “That’s it from the car. Do you want me to haul some stuff up from the basement for you? You at least need a chair or two and a bed.”

“I’m fine,” she said, managing to smile although she really wanted to scowl at him. “Thank you.”

He frowned. “You can’t get it all up yourself. Do you have some guys who are coming to help?”

Now she frowned too. “I said I was fine. Thank you.”

“What are you all snippy about?” he asked, looking at her curiously.

She gave a gasp of indignation at his clueless rudeness. “I’m snippy,” she bit out, “because I’ve said several times that I’m fine, and yet you refuse to listen to me.”

His expression relaxed into almost a smile, as if he’d finally figured out her mood. “Oh, I get it. I’m not some creepy asshole, so no need to worry about that. I live across the street. I knew your folks. I just figured you could use some help, especially since you’re all dressed up and everything.”

She looked down at herself in surprise. “I’m not dressed up!” She wore a sleeveless pale blue top, black capris, and sandals. The sandals had heels on them, but almost all of her shoes had heels. In terms of her wardrobe, the clothes were very casual.

He chuckled—a surprisingly pleasant sound. “Okay. If you say so.”

Allison heard a familiar sound just then—that damned toilet was running again, after she’d spent five minutes jiggling the handle before she left.

Rob must have heard the sound and seen her expression. “Sounds like it just needs a new flapper. I can look at it for you.” He actually turned around and took a step toward the bathroom.

“That’s okay,” Allison said quickly, relieved when he stopped at her words. “I’m sure I can take care of it.”

He turned to face her again, not looking like he believed her, but fortunately he didn’t argue. “There’s a hardware store in town—just a block down from Dora’s. You can get a new flapper, and they can talk you through replacing the old one.”

There was he was, assuming she’d need help again, based on nothing but her appearance. He could have no idea whether she was capable of fixing a toilet, and he shouldn’t make assumptions.

She didn’t like this guy at all. She really wanted him to leave.

She took a deep breath, making sure her voice was polite as she said, “I appreciate your help, and it was nice to meet you.”

“You really don’t mean that, do you?” he drawled, an irresistible half-smile on his face.

She narrowed her eyes. “I’d like to unpack my bags now.”

“Got it,” he said, still smiling as if privately amused. “I’ll see you around.”

Finally, he turned to leave. Allison was very glad to see him go, and it wasn’t because her eyes drifted down to his very nice ass as he walked away.

After We Fall by Melanie Harlow
Publication Date: November 28th, 2016
Genre: Contemporary Romance

MHAfterWeFallBookCover5x8_BW_300.jpg

Synopsis:

Jack Valentini isn’t my type.

Sexy, brooding cowboys are fine in the movies, but in real life, I prefer a suit and tie. Proper manners. A close shave.

Jack might be gorgeous, but he’s also scruffy, rugged, and rude. He wants nothing to do with a “rich city girl” like me, and he isn’t afraid to say so.

But I’ve got a PR job to do for his family’s farm, so he’s stuck with me for ten days, and I’m stuck with him. His glares. His moods. His tight jeans. His muscles.

His huge, hard muscles.

Pretty soon there’s a whole different kind of tension between us, the kind that has me misbehaving in barns, trees, and pickup trucks. I’ve never done anything so out of character—but it feels too good to stop.

And the more I learn about the grieving ex-Army sergeant, the better I understand him. Losing his wife three years ago left him broken and bitter and blaming himself. He doesn’t think he deserves a second chance at happiness.

But he’s wrong.

I don’t need to be his first love. If only he’d let me be his last.

“Second chances are not given to make things right, but are given to prove that we could be even better after we fall.” —Unknown

Excerpt:

“Wow,” she said, shutting the screen door behind her. “That was close. Thank you so much.”

“You’re welcome.” I crossed my arms, wishing I’d thought to grab a shirt. “Want to tell me what you were doing out there?”

Her cheeks colored. “Um, I was taking a run.”

“Up a tree?”

She laughed nervously. “No. Well, I didn’t start out in a tree. That happened later.”

I cocked my head, unable to resist giving her a hard time. Not so sure of yourself now, are you, Barbie? “Oh yeah?”

“Yes. See, I left the cottage I’m renting without using the bathroom by mistake,” she began, twisting her fingers together, “and I was planning on running a loop around the farm, but it’s bigger than I thought.”

“Ah. So you were looking for a bathroom in the woods?”

“Well, yes.” She swallowed. “Sort of. But then I heard a splash and saw you…” Her cheeks were practically purple now.

I played dumb. “Saw me what?”

“Saw you naked, OK?” she blurted, throwing her hands up. “I admit it—I saw you naked.”

I had no hangups about nudity, but I was damn serious about my privacy, and about people sneaking up on me. But her embarrassment was funny. The two times I’d seen her before, she’d been so polished and poised. It felt good to put her in her place a little. “So you climbed a tree for a better view, is that it?”

Bowing her head, she dragged the toe of one shoe across the wood planks of the porch floor. “Something like that.” Then she looked up at me. Took a breath. “I’m really sorry. I shouldn’t have done that. I was—I mean, I got—I couldn’t—” She sighed, briefly closing her eyes. “I have no excuse. Will you accept my apology?”

She was prettier without makeup, I decided. And the way she wore her hair off her face emphasized the wideness of her eyes, the angle of her cheekbones, the arch of her brows. Her lips didn’t need all that glossy crap, either. They were a perfect rosy pink, and I wondered if they’d feel as soft as they looked.

Fuck. I hadn’t kissed anyone in three years.

Clearing my throat, I took a step back. “Yeah. It’s fine.” Now get out of here.

She didn’t move. “So you’re not going to fire me?”

“I never hired you.”

“I know. But I really want this job. I think I can help, Jack. I know I can.”

“Suit yourself. I want nothing to do with it.” My name on her lips was trouble. Needing some distance from her, I started walking toward the dock to get my shoes and socks, but she followed me. God, she was a pest. It reminded me of the way Steph used to tag along after the boys when we were kids, wanting to get in our games.

“Are you going to be like this the entire time I’m here?” she asked.

“Like what?”

“Moody and uncooperative?”

“Probably.”

“Why? Do you hate me that much?”

“I don’t hate anybody. I just don’t see why we should pay some city girl who’s never set foot on a farm to advise us.” We reached the dock, and I leaned down to get my stuff.

“I’m not even asking to be paid, so piss off!” she shouted, her voice carrying on the water.

I straightened. “Oh, you’re working for free?”

“Yes!”

“Then you’re an idiot. Or so rich you don’t need the money.”

“I’m not an idiot,” she said through clenched teeth.

“So you’re rich, then.” I don’t know why I was being such an asshole. But for some reason, I did not want to let her see another side of me, or see another side to her. “I should have guessed.”

She crossed her arms. “And what’s that supposed to mean?”

“It means you look like you’ve led a charmed life. Like you’ve had everything you’ve ever wanted handed to you. Like you’ve never gotten your hands dirty.”

“So get them dirty.”

I almost fell off the dock. “What?”

“Get them dirty. Teach me about working this farm. I want to learn.”

Was she serious? The last thing I needed was to drag her ass around all day, explaining things. Or stare at her ass all day, imagining things. But one look at her defiant face and I shook my head. “Why do I feel like if I say no, you’ll just keep bothering me?”

She smiled and clasped her hands behind her back, rocking forward on her toes. “Because I will. I don’t like being told no.”

“Of course you don’t.” Jesus, she was trouble. A bad apple—smooth and shiny on the outside, spoiled rotten on the inside. But for no good reason, I found myself giving in. “Fine. Go change your clothes.”

Who doesn’t love a surly, growly, anti-social man afraid of change? This is full of one! Jack is interested in Margot but he is not willing to let his past go and he doesn’t feel he deserves one.
Margot just needs to get away from polite society and the gossip surrounding her. So she’s going to go out to a farm and help with their branding and marketing. Which goes over so well with Jack.
I just loved this story because even though Margot and Jack couldn’t be more different, they were both exactly what the other needed and it was so sweet.

Fair warning, this book might have some triggers for some people including, domestic violence, so just know that going in.  While I’m not a big fan of it period, I understand it was a part of the mob mentality part of this story.

Nico is my kind of mobster, if I had one.  He’s a tough guy but he also doesn’t put up with men hitting women.  And he is really attracted to Mia’s sassyness.

Mia has tried to do everything to get away from the mob life.  Her father is an old school Don and she’s been trying to get out of the mafia umbrella.  But then she ends up smack dab in the middle of it with Nico.

If you’re into the mafioso books and can handle potential trigger situations, this will be a good series for you!

Jealousy was an evil monster and I just couldn’t get a fucking grip on it. Leaning over the sticky bar counter that had seen better days, I growled next to her ear. “Ryder’s cock belongs to Jade. He doesn’t see you sweetheart, he only has eyes for her.”

Her cheeks reddened and her eyes blazed as she shoved me away, nearly knocking my glass over. “Fuck off, Razor.”

“Only if you come with me.” I took a sip of my beer and watched her pour another for Ox and slide it across to him. My lips curled into a wicked grin. “I think you’ve forgotten how a real man fucks his woman. Let me remind you.”

It had been a while since I’d been inside her warm and tight little pussy and my dick ached for her. Who was I kidding? Every fucking inch of me ached for her sexy body.

“When will you get it through your thick stupid skull that I don’t want you? I’m never going to fuck you again, Razor, so quit wasting your time.” She looked around the club room. “There are plenty of whores who’ve told me all about your new cock piercings, and I must admit that intrigued me, but it’s never going to happen. So suck it up and move the fuck on.”

I loved a fucking challenge. A grin of satisfaction spread across my face. The pain I’d endured a few weeks ago to get pierced was worth every second if it caught Lexi’s attention. I knew it would, and that was exactly why I’d done the deed. She’d loved my thick and heavy cock before, but this was in a different league altogether.

“You like pierced cock, don’t you? Well, babe, you’re gonna salivate when I fuck that dirty little mouth of yours. You don’t know what you’re missing, but I’m going to show you.”

Her lips parted and her attention was glued to my crotch as if she had x-ray vision. I could practically see her brain ticking over as her eyes gleamed. The fact I’d given it to other girls and not to her would piss her the fuck off even if the little bitch wouldn’t admit it.

“I’m gonna have you scream my name,” I smirked, “you’ll never want another cock as long as you live. What’s the bet one look at my piercings and you’ll wanna wrap your lips around it and suck me off?”

She laughed, her whole body shaking so that the tops of her tits jiggled in her low cut top. Lexi had a pair of knockers that could send a man to war. I’d had the pleasure of sinking my teeth into the soft white flesh and the memory alone made my cock throb.

“Jesus, you’re such an over-confident asshole. Guys are practically tripping over their dicks to fuck me and you think I’m worried about yours? Get over yourself.”

She turned her back to me and placed the glass she’d been polishing for the last three minutes on the shelf with the others. For a MC club, we had the shiniest fucking glasses of them all and it was kinda embarrassing. If only Lexi used her polishing skills better by rubbing my dick, I’d be happier.

I wanted her and I’d do any-fucking-thing to make it happen.

Blog Tour & Review ~ A Veil of Vines ~ by ~ Tillie Cole

To most people, princes, princesses, counts and dukes are found only in the pages of the most famous of fairytales. Crowns, priceless jewels and gilded thrones belong only in childhood dreams.
But for some, these frivolous fancies are truth.
For some, they are real life.
On Manhattan’s Upper East Side, people have always treated me as someone special. All because of my ancestral name and legacy. All because of a connection I share to our home country’s most important family of all.
I am Caresa Acardi, the Duchessa di Parma. A blue blood of Italy. I was born to marry well. And now the marriage date is set.
I am to marry into House Savona. The family that would have been the royals had Italy not abolished the monarchy in 1946. But to the aristocrats of my home, the abolition means nothing at all.
The Savonas still hold power where it counts most.
In our tight-knit world of money, status and masked balls, they are everything and more.
And I am soon to become one of them.
I am soon to become Prince Zeno Savona’s wife…
… or at least I was, until I met Achille.
And everything changed.
Caresa

As my papa’s G5 began its descent, I looked out of the window beside me and waited for the plane to break through the clouds. I held my breath, body tense, then suddenly the burnt-orange remnants of daylight flooded the plane, bathing the interior with a soft, golden glow. I inhaled deeply. Italia.
Fields and fields of green and yellow created a patchwork quilt below, rolling hills and crystal-blue lakes stretching as far the eye could see. I smiled as a sense of warmth ran through me.
It was the most beautiful place on earth.
Sitting back in my wide cream leather chair, I closed my eyes and tried to prepare myself for what was coming. I was flying to Florence airport, from where I would be swiftly taken to the Palazzo Savona estate just outside of the city.
I would meet Prince Zeno.
I had met him twice before—once when I was four, of which I had no memory, and again when I was ten. The interaction we’d had as children had been brief. If I was being honest, I had found Zeno to be arrogant and rude. He had been thirteen at the time and not at all interested in meeting a ten-year-old girl from America.
Neither of us had known at the time that that our betrothal had been agreed upon two years prior. It turned out that the trip my papa had taken to Umbria when I was eight was to secure a forever-bond between the Savonas and the Acardis. King Santo and my father had planned for their only children to marry. They were already joined in business; Zeno’s arranged marriage to me would also strengthen both families’ place in society.
I thought back on my New York farewell of nine hours ago and sighed. My parents had driven me to the private hangar and said their goodbyes. My mama cried—her only child was leaving her for a new life. My papa, although sad to see me go, beamed at me with the utmost pride. He had held me close and whispered, “I have never been more proud of you than I am right now, Caresa. Savona Wines’ stock has plummeted since Santo’s death. This union will reassure all the shareholders that our business is still strong. That we are still a stable company with Zeno at the helm.”
I had given him a tight smile and boarded the plane with a promise that they would see me before the wedding. And that had been that.
I was to marry Zeno, and I hadn’t protested even once. I imagined to most modern-day women living in New York, the process of arranged marriages sounded positively medieval, even barbaric. For a blue blood, it was simply a part of life.
King Santo Savona died two months ago. The shareholders of his many Italian vineyards, the stakeholders in Savona Wines, had expected his son, Zeno, to immediately step up and take charge. Instead, Zeno had plunged himself into the party scene even harder than before—and that was quite a feat. Within weeks my papa had flown out to Umbria to see what could be done.
The answer: our imminent union.

I haven’t read Tillie Cole before (I know, what’s wrong with me?) but I am glad this was my first. It was a little slow going for me at first but I understand it was laying the groundwork for the reader to understand the hierarchy and class separation of Italian royalty.

Caresa (I love her name!) has always dreamt of a dark-haired Italian Prince who sweeps her off her feet like Prince Charming. Caresa is to wed Prince Zeno to help strengthen their families’ wine empire. However, Zeno is an Italian Prince but he’s more of a playboy than Prince Charming. Achille the loner wine maker is more charming and sweet and Caresa falls head over heels for him.

This was a sweet story that delved into a variety of issues, both good and bad, and covered them beautifully. I loved the Princess/Prince in modern day society aspect. Even though in theory the monarchy is dead, it’s still prevalent in Italy.

4.5 stars!

Whoa, wait! What am I thinking here? No lap dances and dates with Aubrey?

Never. Going. To. Happen.

“What’s up with you, Brent?” Nolan asks. “You’ve been weird since we left your house.”

We’re on the back patio of his house now, which is four doors down from my place. I’m still drinking, but much more slowly.

Setting my beer down on an outdoor iron table in front of me, I sigh. “I don’t know, man. I guess I feel kind of bad treating Aubrey the way I did.”

“What?” He makes a who-the-fuck-cares face. “You mean the life coach chick?”

“Yeah, the life coach chick.” I blow out a breath. “But she’s more than that. She’s a really great girl.”

Nolan knows me far too well. He senses where this is leading.

“Dude,” he begins, in full warning mode. “Don’t even think of going there.”

I play dumb. “What do you mean?”

“Oh, you know what I mean. Getting involved with that woman would be nothing but trouble. She was hired by the team to help you, which kind of makes her like your employee by default.”

“An employee I’d like to bang,” I admit.

“I wouldn’t do that if I were you.”

I glare over at him from across the patio table. “Are you kidding? Of course you would.”

“Yeah, you’re probably right,” he concedes. “So maybe you should bang her. But real secretly. And just once. Get her out of your system before you fuck up your career.”

When he starts staring over at me, like he has more to say on the subject, I make an attempt to change the topic. I need to end this conversation about my life coach, who I already can’t get out of my goddamn mind.

In my most dickhead tone, I say, “Stop giving me your googly eyes, Solvenson. You know how it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside when you do that.”

“Fuck off, Oliver,” Nolan volleys back, looking away as he takes a long pull from his beer. As he lowers his bottle, he adds, “I know what you’re doing, anyway.”

“Oh yeah, you do? Please tell me then, great sensei, what am I doing?”

“You’re deflecting. You’re trying to hide from the truth.”

“Which is?”

“You’re falling hard for your hot little life coach.”

Shit, I hate when he’s right.

I am not a hockey person BUT I love the players (they’re beefy) and reading books involving hockey players.  I won’t lie, I was also learning along with Aubrey in her hockey lessons with Benny.
Brent is a hot shot hockey player who comes from a hot shot hockey dad.  He loves hockey but he also wants to win The Cup (Lord Stanley’s that is) and be a real source of pride for his father.  Except he’s playing pretty crappy right now.  He’s partying, drinking and having a good time with his fellow linemen on their break.  Team management feels differently and hires a life coach, Aubrey, to help him get back on track and winning again.
Aubrey can’t deny she’s attracted to Brent but she’s there to do a job and her job she must do.  Until she forms a friendship with Brent and she sees the guy beneath the party boy exterior.
This book was so funny and sweet and I was immediately wrapped up in Brent and Aubrey’s story!  I had to keep reading at work (don’t tell) just to finish the story and find out what happened.  I can’t wait for more of this series.  I have a feeling Benny and Nolan’s stories are going to be just as consuming.

This book grabbed me from page 1!  I was immediately pulled into Abbygail and Oliver’s story.  They’re best friends who through events (not telling what!) fall out of their friendship.  It’s through a lot of misunderstandings, misinterpretations and just spite that they allow themselves to forget their friendship and fall apart.

This book will just consume you because you are reading along with the story and just knowing you want them to get together but other events make that impossible.  So frequently I wanted to smack both characters and make them wise up.

This does end with a cliffhanger that I wasn’t expecting.  So I will nicely bug for when book 2 comes out so I can assuage my curiosity.
