I love me a sports romance – especially if they involve baseball. And I love when a story has me hooked from the jump and reading frantically to figure out what happens! And this book did that! I wanted to know why Harper wasn’t going to date a professional athlete.

I truly enjoyed that Josh wasn’t the cocky, stereotypical, arrogant pro athlete. He knew that there were women who want to be with pro athletes but he wasn’t into them. He was actually into the one woman who didn’t want anything to do with him. But he wore Harper down.

Harper knows a lot about the professional athlete’s life and wants NOTHING to do with it. She doesn’t want publicity, she doesn’t want anything to do with Josh. But Josh just wears her down with his consistency and caring.

There is a cliffhanger and so I’m DYING for the next book!

I loved this version of Beauty and the Beast, with a more modern twist. First, I’ve never met or read about a woman with the name Jasper-Anne. And truthfully, no man with a first name Linden if I’m completely honest. And with their unconventional first names before, I absolutely loved their story!

Jasper-Anne was determined to make friends, at least acquaintances with Linden. And Linden, while being anti-social, has to help this woman with her cabin. She is obviously a city girl and needs a lot of help. And maybe she can help him with his mother and family wanting him to date. And he might find her very attractive.

I truly loved and felt for Jasper-Anne. I can’t say that I would have done the same thing but I definitely would have felt the same as she did dealing with what she had.

It takes a lot to use a fairytale (is Beauty and the Beast a fairytale?) as a loose basis for a story and to do a good job at it but Ms Canterbury definitely has!

I needed this conclusion to the Lecara Duet so much! I needed to know that Luke and Gia got their HEA. Especially after that cliffie! So yes, you do need to read Her Royal Fling before reading His Royal Plan.

Luke and Gia were totally entwined with each other. Yes they lost their way briefly. But they were immediately connected from the beginning. And thankfully everything was wrapped up in a tidy bow – well almost but that’s more about the ending…

I love that Gia stuck out on her own, even though she was still in the County, but she wasn’t going to stay in a place where people didn’t believe her. She was going to take care of herself while she decided what she wanted to do about Luke.

I hope we find out more about some of the people in this duet – I think a few of them have interesting storylines coming their way!

“Daddy’s here!” Jett shrieks from the first floor and, just like that, my stomach drops to my toes.

Lane winks. “You got this, gorgeous.”

I know I do. But that doesn’t mean I have to like any part of it.

When he turns away, I paste on my game face and chink my armor firmly into place, just like I do every other Friday. I also send up a prayer for extra grace this week, because these exchanges seem to be getting harder and harder. I’m not sure why, but I feel the unease creeping in a little more with every swap.

“Mama, come on!” Jett yells again, and I pull in a deep breath. Shoulders back, girlfriend.

I make it halfway down the stairs when my son yanks the front door open and launches himself at the brick wall of a man standing on the other side.

Big arms wrap around our little boy and lift him from the floor, while my lungs hold every ounce of air in my body hostage.

My son adores his father. Of that, I am absolutely certain. And when aquamarine eyes, the exact same color as Jett’s meet mine over the top of our little boy’s head, I realize that no matter how hard I try to prepare myself, this will never get easier.

Well, welcome back Molly McLain! Jesse and Hayden were quite the “hi I’m back to writing!” Even little Jett was a heartbreaker. I was wrapped in the story of Jesse and Hayden from the very beginning. And all of Jesse’s siblings and all the other residents of Cole Creek.

Jesse makes me think of a gentle giant. He is just so hard not to love. Everything he does is to help others or for Jett. Even if it causes him emotional pain. He is just such a sweetheart, how could anyone not love him? Plus I love seeing someone on the cover that I follow on TikTok. So that’s always fun.

Oh Hayden. She was trying to do everything for Jett and to make sure that coparenting with Jesse was as easy as possible. Which can’t be that easy with everything they were all dealing with.

I can’t wait to see who the next story will be about. Which of Jesse’s siblings is next to fall??

I was all in with Jordan and Grant from the first chapter. Sounds like Grant and Jordan were just as into each other as I was in reading the start of their story. Jordan reminds me of myself, having to prove how strong she is, jumping in to help someone, regardless of her own well-being. Which drives Grant bananas.

Jordan and Grant meet unconventionally and it is somewhat illicit in the fact that Grant is a higher rank than Jordan. But I truthfully love them together! It almost seems to be seamless that they get together and start a relationship, even with someone watching them.

I have sooooo many thoughts about who it is and why but I’m keeping those to myself. I can’t wait to read more of Jordan and Grant and finding out if I was right!
