This was a book that kept me up and I had no idea what time it was. I crashed at 12:50am after reading this straight through! Thank goodness it was Saturday night so I still have Sunday to rest before I have to go back to work tomorrow (BOO!)

Penny is going on another Tinder date – which personally, I think of Tinder as a hook-up site not a relationship site but that kinda explains Penny’s previous dates. After her boyfriend breaks up with her for not being impulsive enough (read as she was BORING), she’s starting back over. She runs into her former childhood friend that she made a marriage pact with, who is also Hollywood star Jax.

Jax needs an overhaul to his image, if he wants this super hero role. When he runs into his old friend Penny, it’s perfect! He’s attracted to her, she’s unknown and she knows him from before Hollywood.

This was so many things. A romantic comedy, plus Pride and Prejudice thrown in. How could you not want to read this?!

Charlie gripped his hand tighter. “Promise me.”

I knew with Aiden being the “head” of the O’Malley’s that his story would be intense and it sure was!

This book was way more than I thought it would be. So much love and hurt and deception is just amazing.

Jesse is the bad boy rocker who is seeing a therapist to help him with his issues with sobriety. Kylie is a former pageant queen who has gained a bit of weight while dealing with some other issues. They run into each other in their therapists office and thus starts their friendship. Which clients of a psychiatrist seeing each other would be a big no-no. Especially when that therapist has the hots for Jesse.

They say love spans large distances. And boy does this story embody that.

He definitely is a heart warmer, for sure! And Ashleigh taps into the insecurities that I think everyone has had at one time or another. Yes she’s on TV but she has a horrible self-esteem in herself, both in personality, physicality and sexuality.

Ashleigh is a single, 25-year old TV star (think maybe C list) who is trying to adopt an 8-year old girl that she became acquainted with while volunteering for a homeless shelter. The only hitch? The older sister who doesn’t want Ashleigh to take away her sister – for a myriad of reasons.

Brock is not lacking for companionship but he only wants one night stands; he won’t do a relationship anymore. He meets Ashleigh and is very interested in her. Especially when he hears about the circumstances in Ashleigh’s life.

Brock and Ashleigh work somehow even with their different professions, different cities but they are magic together.

Why is he angry at me when he must’ve known that I’d be here?

Lana turns her head and beams at him all doe-eyed and vomit-inducing, reaching out her arm to Millen before returning her attention to me, positioning herself to deliver the final death blow.

Then she says them. The words I don’t want to hear—let alone believe.

“I have amazing news. First, my daddy just bought this place. And second, meet Millen, my fiancé…”

Yep. Dead. Done. The see-ya-later, don’t-let-the-door-hit-your-ass-on-the-way-out kind of done.

Then Drew walks through the front door. Drew who warms my bed most nights. Finally, a friendly face.

However, one look at Lana’s expression and I know this moment has just gone from bad to plain awkward. It’s like the universe is making a joke at my expense.

Drew’s already big smile grows impossibly larger when he spots the two people standing in front of me.

“Mills!” he says, pulling Millen into a man-hug the likes of which I’ve never seen Drew hand out before. He turns to the she-bitch and wraps his arms around her too. “Lans.”

“What are you guys doing here?” Drew asks.

“You know them?” I blurt out, my brain unable to engage quick enough to care about putting a filter in place.

Millen’s eyes snap to Drew then back to me. “You know Drew?” he asks at the same time as Lana juts a hip to the side and asks Drew, “You know Kenzie?”

“Millen is my best friend from college,” Drew happily informs me, and his smile falls at the same time that all of the blood rushes from my face.

Awkward, meet Mortifying. Also here are Shame, Embarrassment, Anger, Disgust, and over in the corner there is Complete and Utter Confusion and her friend I’m Going to Have to Move to the States and Join a Women-Only Commune with Cats and Unlimited Batteries.

With nothing else to say—at least, nothing that wouldn’t take a bottle of Jack and a whole lot of time—I decide to just go with the flow and revert to my old trusty auto-pilot because seriously, what else is there for me to do?

“Soooo, would anyone like a drink?”

Once I started reading, I couldn’t stop! I had to find out how Millen and Kenzie happened and why they stopped happening. Not safe for those looking for “safe” books but an awesome read! And not just saying it because it’s based within close driving distance of my town 😊.

Kenzie never flirts or picks up any of the bar patrons at work. Except Millen is a bit different. And seriously, reading his comments and their sexy banter made me want to take him home!! Everything is going well until he ghosts her and shows up back at the bar with a few surprises in tow.

At times you want to smack Millen for what he’s done and other times you want to hug him and console him. Such a great read. I hope Gaby gets her HEA. She’s too sassy not to!

I absolutely LOVED reading this story!! Kelly is a single girl in NYC and getting ready to head home for her favorite holiday, Christmas. Kelly is UBER superstitious and when she runs into an older woman who tells her that she has already met her forever and she will again before Christmas. So of course, Kelly has to make a list of all her exes so she can run into “the one” again.

Mark has been Kelly’s BFF forever. They’ve been super close and even help each other out. But Mark is not looking forward to Kelly’s half-baked plan to get back in touch with all her exes that broke her heart. Especially when things seem to be a little sensitive between them.

A great read! Lauren Layne has been one of my favorite authors for a long time. I love everything she writes and will definitely buy once I see she has a new book out.

Justine is trying her hardest to keep her faithful newspaper from going under, because just like in real life, the print news industry is rapidly declining. And Justine does not want to do away with print news and her family’s paper. So when her former lover, Rafael, comes to her rescue, she just can’t believe it. So slightly indecent proposal-like but that’s the last of the similarities. Justi and Rafa’s romance is as hot as Rafa’s Spanish sweet talk! They are epically combustible with heat and with temper. They have quite a history, sweet, spicy and tempestuous, and you just get swept away in reading it.

Harley has had a difficult start with her mom and her MC President dad that she rarely sees. But one day she is taken into the MC and away from the life she had. That’s where she meets Benji Who upon seeing her, immediately says he’s her protector.

But Harley has some mental issues, split personality disorder, and so she has another personality we meet, Farrah.

This book was written with so much explanation and thorough thought for split personality disorder, how it appears to people, how it affects those with it, etc. Reading this book pulled me in within seconds of starting!
