Blood roared in his ears, and need crashed over him. He cupped her chin. Those warm eyes gazed up at him, those beautiful lips parted. When her tongue flicked out to dampen them, he couldn’t take it anymore. He touched his mouth to hers. So sweet. So incredibly sweet.

He tried to hold back. Tried to get a handle on this thoughts—remind himself why this was wrong—but she opened her mouth—just a little—just enough for him to feel the rush of her breath on his lips. And then she leaned into him—so gently, so easily. Christ, like they belonged together.

Holy hell. This was bad. This was so fucking bad. He should stop, walk away while he still had possession of his balls. But he needed this taste. This one little taste to make the want go away.

We’re a product of our upbringing. At least that’s how Dylan sees life. He sees himself as his drunken mother’s caregiver and the “trailer park trash” he was grown up being called. Nicole has a similar background but she has chosen to take the lessons out of it and not let it define her.

Dylan likes and admires how bright and young and fresh Nicole is and he doesn’t want to get involved with her and “sully” her with his life. Nicole just wants Dylan to see himself as she sees him and not as the drunk’s son.

This story was just so much. It was a love story but it was also a story about perception. How we perceive ourselves versus how others perceive us and how often our perception of ourselves can be our worst flaw.

I can’t wait to read more of this series!!

Brentlee and Sniper’s story is just amazing. They have both been through so much – although very different things – before they find their way back to each other. Brentlee & Sniper were a fantastic couple when they were younger. Their lives have led them through some very trying experiences but somehow they find themselves back to each other.

Rough & Raw is the second book in the series. You don’t need to read book 1 (Kentlee & Fury’s story) – I hadn’t read it – but now that I read book 2, I want to read their story. Each story is it’s own couple but there are recurring characters in each story.

I can’t wait for Dirty Johnny’s story. He was quite the crack up!

Head’s Up: This book is longer than most – 624 pages according to Amazon. BUT you wouldn’t know it’s that long. I read it over 2 days and I loved it! I had to know what happened. It wasn’t as if I read it and thought to myself “When will it end?” I was just so into Judah and Teddy’s story.

Judah and Teddy’s relationship is huge and complex and sweet and just so consuming. Judah is your typical manwhore who decides he wants Teddy once he sees her. Teddy is unlike any other woman Judah has come across and that makes her more of a challenge.

Teddy has had a bad relationship before so she is justifiably skeptical and jaded somewhat. Judah is exactly the type of man she doesn’t want to get involved with but is so interested in him as well.

I truly loved this story. It is very well written and the characters angst is so real.
