A secret fling and media scandal incites a very public, fake engagement. When the news breaks, a twenty-year secret threatens to destroy us both.

Gabe Lugreno is everything I avoid in a man.
He’s arrogant, bossy, wealthy, and…American.
Also, he’s younger than me and won’t take no for an answer.
When I give in to a casual fling, he soon learns I only take orders in the bedroom.
But life throws a curveball, and the stakes are too high to ignore.
Our engagement is nothing but a ruse, except my walls are crumbling…
I’m falling for the man I never intend to marry.
Sophia Evans is a force to be reckoned with, challenging me at every turn.
When her hard work and good name are tainted, I lie to the press.
To protect her…but she doesn’t need my protection.
She deserves the truth.
But the truth could ruin us forever.
My Billionaire Fling is a full length, steamy contemporary romance full of angst, explosive chemistry and a secret that will keep you fully invested to the very end.

“Hands down the best book so far!”

“This steamy read with a little bit of angst will leave you feeling the love that this pair share and wanting book 3 now.”

“I could gush about this book all day long!! Their story gives me all the heart eyes and definitely ends with a HEA!”

“Maci is going to take you on an incredible journey you won’t soon forget in this spicy, captivating tale.”

“I’m heading out early. Do you need anything from me before I leave?”
Kelli shakes her head. “No, everything is under control. Are you still taking the full weekend off?”
She’s the only one who knows my weekend plans do not include a conference of any kind.
“Yes, I doubt I’ll be contactable, so I’m leaving my life’s work in your capable hands.”
“I still don’t understand why you didn’t suggest going away next weekend instead. You could’ve stayed the week up until Christmas as we’ll be closed anyway.”
“Trust me, two nights is more than enough for what we have planned.”
“Dirty whore,” she jokes, and I shrug happily, owning the compliment as it was intended.
More than two nights in a romantic city with Gabe is too much to comprehend for this happily single, almost forty-year-old.
Three hours later, Gabe and I are on his private Jet, bound for Paris. He flew direct from New York to collect me for a secret, dirty weekend in my favorite city in the world. In less than an hour, we’ll arrive and settle into our hotel.
And if I have anything to say about it, we won’t leave our room until we’re required to check out and dive back into reality.
“I notice you packed on the lighter side… are you planning on staying in all weekend?” A cheeky grin spreads across his face.
Laughing, I raise my glass of champagne to his in a toast. “I believe that’s the plan, yes.”
Gabe chuckles knowingly, rubbing his hand up the length of my thigh, teasing me with his light touch.
As we’re both familiar with Paris, we have no plans to do any sightseeing. Apart from meals, we have no desire to leave the room. In case we get carried away, Gabe booked a suite in a hotel with the best-rated twenty-four-hour room service.
My luggage exists of three outfits and, dare I say, only two pairs of shoes and an assortment of sexy lingerie. My intentions are clear based on what I’ve packed.
“Does it turn you on, sneaking around like this?” He leans forward, his hand snaking beneath my skirt, his finger teasing the wet fabric of my panties.
“We’re not sneaking around.”
“No? Where did you tell your friends you were going this weekend?”
Unable to resist, I lean toward him as his lips kiss their way up my neck until goosebumps break out over my skin. With a firm hand, he pushes my legs open, and glances up at me, waiting for an answer.
“To Paris for a training seminar.”
Gabe laughs, his eyes never leaving mine. He drags me forward, my pussy on the edge of the seat, and kneels on the floor. As he pulls my panties to the side, he dives between my thighs, and closes his lips around my clit. Good God, this man and his magic tongue. In seconds, I’m writhing over his mouth, grinding my wet pussy against his face, about to experience my first mile-high orgasm.
“Yes, Gabe…” I whisper, wrapping my legs over his shoulders. “So fucking good,” I moan, on the cusp of no return.
My body shudders as he holds my hips tightly in place, pressed against him as he nips and sucks, swirling his tongue over my clit as if he’s starving for the last taste of perfection.
My fingers rake through his hair, clutching his thick strands as I lose all control and give in to the pleasure only Gabe can offer.
Tenderly, he licks every last drop of arousal from me, moaning as he keeps me pinned in place, his fingertips digging into my buttocks.
I’m his to devour.
His to cherish.
With dark eyes, hooded and drunk with lust, he pushes back on the balls of his feet and stands above me. My mouth, level with his groin, waters at the sight of the bulge in his jeans. Slowly, he unbuckles his belt, pops the button, and lowers the zipper. Reaching out, I tug at the denim and his boxers, pulling them down his hips until he’s fully revealed to me.
Desperate to taste his arousal, I lick my lips. A bead of pre-cum pools on the head of his cock, begging to be licked. I take his length in my hand, teasing him with slow, purposeful strokes until he pushes my hand away and pulls me abruptly from my seat.
He spins me around so my back is facing him, my arms resting over the top of the seat. Hitching my skirt up around my waist, he shuffles my hips back toward the edge and pulls my thong down. Teasing my entrance with his cock, he asks, “How do you feel about an audience?”

Exclusive Excerpt:

He shot a quick glance toward her in the passenger seat of his rental. She’d licked her dark mauve colored lipstick from her lips during dinner and she hadn’t reapplied it. Did that mean she’d be open to a good night kiss? He’d read in a Cosmo magazine left behind on a flight once that the lack of reapplying lipstick was a sign…

Jeez, now he was getting his relationship advice from a magazine he had no business reading.

She looked at him, and he quickly turned his attention back to the road. “I’m just the next left,” she said, as he came to a stop sign. The speed limit in the neighborhood was thirty, but he couldn’t be going faster than ten. He was reluctant to see the night end, but inviting her back to the Inn for a drink had seemed too sleazy…but would she invite him into her place?

It had been far too long since he’d been on a real first date, and it was quickly becoming evident that he had no idea what the dating etiquette was these days in the era of apps and hookups. She’d been quiet on the drive back to her place, so it was hard to read her.

He turned onto her street and cleared his throat. “So, on a scale of one to ten, how would you rate tonight’s date?”

She grinned as she turned in the seat to face him. “Like if I was leaving a Yelp review?”

“Yes. Yelp review me.” He could take it. Hopefully, she wouldn’t dock him for his use of the word “corny” or his unimaginative date suggestion.

She looked as though she were thinking for a long moment. “Um…I’d say it was a solid eight.”

“Eight.” He nodded slowly. Not bad. Not a ten. “What could have I done for a better score?”

Jessica’s cheeks flushed slightly as she stared at their joined hands between the seats. “I docked you two points because you are a limited-time offer.”

He swallowed hard. So, she was looking for something a little more serious in a guy. Normally that response would have him doing the logical, responsible thing—breaking it off before the woman got too invested or got her feelings hurt. So far, he’d been honest and clear in his intentions. Saying goodnight and thanking her for a fun evening was the way to play this.

But he really wanted to see her again. More than he’d wanted a second date with a woman in a long time. He didn’t want to see her get hurt, of course, but maybe they could take things casually and see what happened.

All he knew was he’d been dreading this time in his hometown. Dreading the downtime, the holidays with his family, being in one place for too long…but Jessica was already helping him cope.

The door to the cabin opens, and Amelie steps out with her caramel-colored hair in a ponytail and dressed in a tank top and yoga pants. It’s fifteen degrees outside, but the cold doesn’t bother us. The smell of snow approaches, and I can tell it’s going to come down hard within the hour. Looking up at the sky, it’s dark, and the clouds are thick.

Amelie plugs in the Christmas lights on her porch and looks up at them when she gets into the yard. I’ve never seen someone so fascinated with the holidays. But she’d be appalled if she could see my house at Christmas time. I’ve never cared about decorating or celebrating, at least not in the last thirty years after losing Alina. Something tells me I might have to change that. If this is going to work between us, I’ll have no choice but to see things differently. The only problem is that I have no idea how to do that.

Amelie runs through the woods in human form, and I follow behind her, making sure to keep my presence hidden. I’m not ready for her to know I’m there yet. The lake is a few miles into the woods, and her movements are smooth and concise as she swerves in and out of the trees. The only other people I’ve seen move like that are my brothers. She had to have learned it from Micah. I’ve envied him for being so close to her. It’s even made me a little jealous, but I know he’s never tried anything with her. When he comes back to town, things might be a little different. I’m hoping Amelie will let me train her instead of him.

The lake comes into view, and I slow my pace. Amelie stops by the water and blows out a breath, watching the steam billow into the wind. She raises her arms in the air and stretches, exposing her bare stomach as her shirt lifts up. The need in me rises, and I close my eyes. All I can think about is taking her in my arms and making her mine.

“Fuck,” I hiss under my breath. My cock hardens at the thought of her naked and spread out beneath me. Stepping behind the tree, I lean against it to regain my composure. I’m always in control, but around Amelie, I’ve lost all sense of it. Taking a deep breath, I let it out slow until everything goes back to normal. When it does, I unleash my power so Amelie can sense me.

“Beck, I’ve heard so many great things about you. It’s nice to finally meet you.”

“People been talking?” Beck chuckled again, but he was studying her face, assessing her with those stunning eyes.

“My grandfather, Win Ross. I’m Grace Holland, and he left instructions that I should reach out to you. That you would have something for me.”

Beck tilted his head a bit to the left, a tender expression passing over his face. “Gracie Jane. I figured you’d be stopping by here at some point. I was sorry to hear about Win’s passing. Everyone in town loved him. And I felt blessed to call him my friend. God, I miss him every day.”

“Thanks for saying that, Beck. I miss him, too. And it’s just Grace now. I think my granddad was the only one still calling me Gracie Jane.”

“He did.” Beck nodded. “He talked about his granddaughter all the time. He was so proud of you and how you started that company of your own.”

As he spoke about her granddad, Beck’s eyes softened and his voice warmed. Talking about the most important man in her life with someone she’d just met felt bittersweet. But according to her granddad, Beck was one of his dearest friends.

“I remember how proud he was when I told him about my new business venture.”

“A website design business. What’s it called again?”

“Holland Designs.”

“Right.” He bobbed his head. “Win said you had more work than you could do in a lifetime.”

“That sounds about right.”

“I’m sorry I didn’t make it to the memorial. I searched for information but never found anything.”

Grace bit her lower lip and then shook her head. The memorial had been a point of contention between her and her mother. “There wasn’t one.”

“Yeah, he always said he didn’t want anything like that, but I wondered if his family would have one anyway.”

“No. My mom and I…We just wanted to do exactly what he wanted.” Grace’s mother had an entirely different interpretation of what Edwin Ross had wanted. “And his wish was to not have people standing around, staring at him.”

Beck chuckled softly. “I remember Win saying that.”

Several unpleasant tasks still remained to be accomplished today, and they dampened the joy Grace generally experienced reminiscing about her granddad. “My granddad left something here for me. Do you have that?”

“Right.” Beck pointed toward the corner of the enormous hangar. “It’s in my office.”

With quickened steps, Grace kept pace beside Beck. “This place wasn’t here before. I mean, when I used to live here, there was the airstrip, but there weren’t many hangars. Maybe two or three.”

“It’s become a thing. Owning a plane. Faster than the ferry if you’re crossing Lake Michigan. Lots of people around the county can afford it. And none of the other towns in the area have an airstrip.”

Stopping at the door to his office, Grace watched while Aaron walked to his desk and lifted a heavy-looking silver paperweight shaped like an airplane. He plucked a key from underneath and went to a tall wooden cabinet in the corner. With a twist of his wrist, he unlocked the door. From her position outside his office, she could see the small black safe. He entered a code, and the door swung opened. Shifting the contents around, he produced a manilla envelope. Then, Beck reversed his steps until he was standing in front of her again, presenting her with the envelope.

The strained expression on his face was exactly how Grace’s heart felt in the moment. A deep ache—one of loneliness and sorrow—created by the loss of a precious soul. Slowly, she reached for the envelope.

“Thank you, Beck. Thank you for keeping my granddad’s wishes safe for him. For me.”

“Yeah, no problem.” Beck pinched his lips together and glanced around before meeting her eyes again. “So, are you ready for your tour?”

“Tour? Now? No.” Grace shook her head, fighting a choking feeling at the back of her throat. A tour—wasting time, wandering around—wasn’t part of her plans for today. Not even for a few minutes. “No. I don’t need a tour. But thanks for this.” She lifted the envelope to indicated she had all she needed at the moment.

Again, he tilted his head the slightest bit to the left and then gave a gruff grunt.

“Suit yourself,” he said. Like a switch had been flipped, his tone turned dark and sarcastic, and Grace had no idea why. “See ya around, Gracie Jane.”

Grace has gone back to Oak Bend, among some history, to get her inheritance from her grandfather, Edwin aka “Win”. Aaron aka Beck is the aircraft mechanic who helped Win with his airplanes. So when Grace meets him, Aaron is only thinking of what he has assumed about Grace and that she wants to sell the planes and get out of Oak Bend. So he’s not a big fan, even if his hormones, and daughter are.

Grace wanted to go back to Oak Bend, just to do something besides what her parents want. Her mother definitely does not want her back in Oak Bend, where she feels that the family history might be held against Grace.

This book and this whole series is a great blend of small-town, blue-collar romance that I was looking for with this series.

5 stars!

Lily didn’t answer right away, but he heard her footsteps move closer until he knew she was right next to him. He put his hand out and brushed her shoulder. Lily let out a tiny cry before she fell into his embrace. Royce put his arms protectively around her. They clung to each other.

“I have been alone for so long, dealing with this. Sometimes I feel like I am in an abyss of my own making. Fear has been the driving force in my life for so long—fear of the unknown, so I’ve been trying to accomplish all I can before it’s too late.

She caressed his face. “You don’t have to be alone.” Lily’s voice trembled. “You have people who care about you, like Mr. Templeton, Percy,” she paused for a second, “and me. I understand that at times things may seem hopeless, but that is when you need to lean on others the most, and I know that may be difficult.”

He leaned into her soft touch. How had this extraordinary woman come into his life, just when he needed her the most? Since coming home from the war, Royce had felt adrift. Lily’s presence anchored him, gave him a beacon to hold on to, and by God, he would hold her close tonight if she let him.

“What did I do to deserve to have you in my life, sweet Lily?” He placed his hand over hers and kissed it.

“I might ask myself the same thing. Before coming here, the last few months, I had been alone and scared. Fearful of everyone and everything. Ever since I have been here, I have found friends and the happiness that has eluded me for quite some time. I feel like I belong.”

Royce tightened his grip on Lily and pulled her closer. “You will always have a place here, for as long as you wish. I ask for no promises and I give none.” On that, at least, he had to be honest.
“I understand.”

“I may not give you a promise, but I can give you a choice. Stay with me tonight. I will do whatever you ask—I am yours for the commanding. All I ask is that you share this room with me. I cannot bear another night without you.”

About Laura Shipley

Laura Shipley is an indie author who writes Victorian historical romance with dark, brooding heroes and strong-willed, feisty heroines. Her love of romance began the first time she “borrowed” one of the mother’s books and was hooked. While she reads all genres, paranormal romance is a close second to historical.

When she is not writing, Laura enjoys spending time with her husband and children. She has never met a piece of chocolate or a glass of wine that she did not like. Her third addiction is Starbucks, and the never ending need for caffeine to keep the creative juices flowing. She prefers movies over tv, too much of a time commitment, but likes spending time outdoors including hiking and rafting.

Her greatest joy is transporting readers to another time and place with her books, and to have her readers fall in love with the characters just as much as she does. Laura’s email is always open to comments or questions at thelaurashipley@gmail.com. Don’t forget to follow her on Facebook at TheLauraShipley for updates and other fun stuff.
