I open the door. Ana’s sitting on the edge of the bed, staring at the door. The instant she sees me, her lips part, and her eyes travel my body before jerking back to my face.

“You have to put a shirt on. You just—have to.”

My cock is pretty damn pleased with this reaction that says she wants me, but my brain is working overdrive, and for once, overpowering that plaything in my pants. “Why, sweetheart? You want to kiss the scar you gave me better? It’s too late for that. Or maybe, you want to lick me all over? You already did that. You don’t get to do it again. Not after trying to kill me.” I walk to the end of the desk where I left my gun, pick it up, and then lay down on the ground at the foot of the bed. My phone goes to the floor. The gun sits on my gut.

Ana moves to the end of the bed, and sits there, staring down at me. “What are you doing?”

I notice she avoids my name when she would normally do otherwise. I guess she just can’t figure out who I am anymore. Well, I know. And Lucifer fits. She knows, too. “I’m catching a few z’s, and protecting you from anyone that comes in the door. If it so much as jiggles, I’ll sit up and shoot.”

“It’s been a hellish night and morning. Lay on the bed. You can have the side closest to the door. Please.”

I glance up at her. “Sweetheart, if I get in that bed with you, I’ll have you naked in about thirty seconds, and while we’ll both enjoy that, you’ll just hate me for it after. Not to mention we won’t get any sleep.”

“I could say a lot of things to that response, but I probably shouldn’t. We’ll put pillows between us.”

“If you think a pillow will stop me from getting naked with you, you might have been right when you said you never really knew me, Ana. That was right before you shot me, right? I told you. I want to fuck you. I don’t want to sleep next to you.”

She buries her face in her hands and groans a frustrating sound and then glowers at me, all sexy and way too damn hot for my own good. “Fine, Lucifer. Sleep on the damn floor. Just do what you want.” She stands up and walks to the side of the bed before climbing on top.

She tosses a pillow down on top of me. I grab it and stick it under my head. “For the record, me down here and you up there is not what I want. It was never what I wanted, Ana. It’s just who we are now.”

“Yeah,” she says softly. “I know. “

That’s all she says and I want more. But then, I’ve always wanted more when it comes to Ana. And more was never enough.

This was the BEST ending for me! I didn’t even need to go back and read the other 2 books because there is an amazing overview at the beginning of this book. BUT definitely read books 1 & 2 to meet Aria and Kace because their story is a lot and you do not want to miss a thing.

Now I won’t give away any spoilers, but WHOA! After the cliffhanger from Book 2, you want to read this one carefully. There were SO many things in this story that I wasn’t expecting but holy cow was I in for the ride! I love this storyline so much! This is a normal Lisa Renee Jones ride, with highs and lows but unlike anything she’s written before.

I can’t wait for more! LRJ is one of my go-to authors that I immediately sign up to read or review or buy.

I read this book immediately after book 1 and I still need to re-read them before book 3 because I know I need the immediate gratification. And I have to follow the story of Kace and Aria from start to finish in 1 fell swoop.

This book picks up where book 1 left off. Aria is still trying to find her past and trust Kace again. But because of who he is and who she is, she isn’t sure that Kace wants her or her lineage. But Kace and Aria’s off the charts relationship just leaps off the page.

As with every Lisa Renee Jones book I’ve ever read, the characters and storyline SUCK ME IN! I’m immediately captivated and must read from start to finish what happened. As with every multiple book series, this one ends on a cliffhanger that will leave you BEGGING for more! And that’s definitely what I am doing. September 22 cannot come soon enough!!

Oh how I needed this book! I needed to know how Savage and Candace navigate through this craziness and espionage that they’ve been living in. Oh I should say you MUST read books 1 and 2 first or this book won’t make any sense. Plus you have to get to know both Candace and Rick.

This whole series had me guessing the whole time. Who is on the “good” side, who is a liar, who can’t you trust? Who CAN you trust? This whole series makes you second guess everything you think you have figured out.

The only thing you can be sure of throughout this whole trilogy: that Rick Savage will protect Candace with everything he has.

“I stayed away for a reason. I knew if I ever touched you again, I’d want all of you. I’d want to own you and I wouldn’t give a shit about the price. So, yes, I’m going to spank you.”
“You think me submitting during sex means you own me?” she challenges.
“One night at a time, baby.”
“One night at a time, until you ruin me?”
“And then some,” I assure her. “There’s no saving you now.” Just to be sure she’s clear on that fact, I scoop her up and start walking.
She doesn’t object. She holds onto me. I want to believe she’ll hold on forever, but I’m not sure we’re there yet. Who am I kidding? I know we’re not fucking there yet, which is why we’re not doing this in the kitchen. This isn’t about sex. It’s about us, it’s about our relationship, our connection, the intimacy we have shared, the past come back to life. That means our bedroom.
The place we started and ended days together. The place we talked for hours. The place where we did naughty, kinky things to each other. Okay, I did naughty, kinky things to her more than she did to me. But it was here where the most intense moments were shared.

Every Walker Security story just makes me love them more!! Although I will admit that I had a bit of a bias against Jacob. I knew someone from Kindergarten though high school named Jacob King who was a HUGE D-bag. So I was not a fan of Jacob at first but him and his muscley, ex-Green Beret protector self won me over. So this Jacob King got a pass.

Jewel is AWESOME! She’s a tough, strong, doesn’t put up with attitude awesome detective. Being a detective has been what she’s wanted to do for years, after she’s had tragedy hit her family. But after some threatening notes get sent to her father about her, she now has Walker Security keeping her and her dad safe and Jacob as her new shadow.

Lisa Renee Jones has a way of writing a story that sucks me in, intrigues me and has enough chemistry to keep things hot! Definitely one of my favorite authors!!

“You want more now, and yet you don’t want it enough to make it end. And I already don’t want it to end, Sierra.”

She leans into me, her head resting on my shoulder, emotion that isn’t pleasure radiating off of her and crashing into me. I cup her face and tilt her chin up, my thumb stroking her cheek. “What are you thinking?”

“Nothing. Everything. Can you kiss me again already?”

“Where, Sierra?”

“Where?”

“Where do you want me to kiss you? Tell me.”

“Everywhere.” She pushes to her toes, and her lips find mine, looking for an escape, trying to drive her demons away.

I want to demand her answer, make her tell me where she wants my mouth, but I feel her desperation, her need to escape whatever is in her head. And so, I press my lips to hers, I kiss her mouth, drinking her in, and I don’t taste him this time. I taste her. I taste us. I taste need and hunger and passion. “I want you naked,” I say, my hands sliding inside her jeans and panties. “In every possible way, Sierra.”

“I’m pretty sure I’m already there, and it’s terrifying.” She flattens her hand on my chest. “If you turn into an asshole, I swear—”

“You can punish me,” I promise, “and I’m still willing to offer suggestions.”

“If you turn into an asshole after I trusted you,” she says. “I won’t need suggestions, Mr. Ex-Navy SEAL who won’t be able to hide from my wrath.”

Fuck, I’m crazy about this woman. “Good thing I’m not going to turn into an asshole. I want you naked,” I repeat, and this time, I make it happen. I lower myself to one knee and take her jeans and panties with me. My arm wraps her waist and I lift her, dragging her clothing away, and setting her back down. My hands settle on her hips then and I look up at her. She stares down at me, the simmering look in her eyes all about arousal, submission. And I want that from her and not because it’s some sex game, of which I could play and play well.

I press my lips to her belly and just that easily she trembles, and it only makes me want more. Everything is more with her.  I drag my mouth lower and lower…

Ok I immediately read this one after reading Deep Under because whew those Walker Security men!!! And I might have woken up early this morning to finish and then was almost late for work – but I made it!!

Asher is adorable!! He’s Hot and swoony and sexy and flirty and I love it! He’s almost too cocky when he meets Sierra but Sierra gives back as good as she gets. So they’re totally a match. And what a match they are!!

Sierra is running. She can’t be where she was and so she’s run. She can’t get involved with anyone and drag them into her saga and possibly get them hurt or even killed. However, Sierra attracts Asher who immediately backs her and rallies the whole Walker Security family behind her. Plus she’s a forensic psychologist which is UBER fascinating to me and I’d love to know more about her!

Lisa Renee Jones has the ability to craft such a hot and engaging story that you can’t put it down! You HAVE to know how it ends. 

This book brought together 2 of my Loves; crime and Romance. As a criminal justice grad (and nerd), I love mysteries and crime and things of that nature. But I also enjoy Romance, the hotter the better! And this story has both elements woven together so effortlessly that it makes for such a great read. 

I found myself wondering as I read, who did kill Jennifer Wright? What is the prosecution’s case? A book that can actively transport you into the story is an amazing story from a truly unique author.
