I LOVE the Bennett Family! Each of their stories are unique but fit together perfectly.

Alice has been in love with Nate for YEARS. He’s everything she wants. And he’s also her brother’s best friend. So you know that’s off limits. But after watching all her siblings get married, she can’t help but want.

Nate has loved the Bennett family for years and has always taken care with Alice. But now he seems to enjoy teasing her more. And he’s a little more possessive of her now.

Reading this just made me want to re-read all the Bennett’s stories. They’re always a feel good read.

“Victoria? No offense, but that all sounds like pig latin to me. If there’s anything you know will make this place look like a home, go ahead. I’m giving you carte blanche.” Evidently, I was so immersed in my proposal, I didn’t take notice of him advancing toward me, or me backing into the wall opposite the kitchen. One of his hands is propped against the wall near my ear, and with the other one, he twirls a strand of my hair in his fingers.

“Really? I don’t want you to think I’m trying to upsell you things. I want you to love your new home.” The words tumble out of my mouth at an alarming speed, but Christopher’s proximity is setting me on edge. Drawing in a deep breath, I attempt to calm myself, but my heart rate ratchets up. Feeling his fingers move from my hair to my temple and then descend to my jaw isn’t helping.

“I was hoping it was just an excuse to spend more time with me,” he says gently. The space between us seems to become increasingly smaller, even though neither of us moves. “You smell like eggnog.” Something in his voice has changed. I can’t pinpoint what; maybe his timbre is lower, but it sounds more intimate than it did seconds ago. It sends desire coursing through me, and I become aware of the fact that my breasts are squished against his chest. His hot breath lands on my cheek, like a forbidden whisper.

“I am going to kiss you, Victoria.” His words unleash a hunger inside me, so deep and so powerful that I have no hope of resisting it. I nod slightly, and then his mouth covers mine. I part my lips invitingly, and when he coaxes my tongue with his, I’m on fire.

Oh, this man knows how to kiss. He is demanding and in control, and I love every second of it. Before long, we’re a tangle of limbs because I need to feel so much more, and I’m not alone in my desperation. One of his hands finds the hem of my sweater, and I shudder. Pressing his knee between my legs, he opens my thighs. Driven by a will of their own, my hips roll forward, and I find myself pressing my center against his thigh. A rough groan reverberates from his chest, and his hand slides up, stopping where the fabric of my bra meets my skin. All movement stops for a few interminable seconds, and I realize he’s seeking permission.

I nod almost imperceptibly, and our control snaps. Christopher cups my breast over the fabric of the bra, and my nipples turn hard within seconds. His mouth descends to my neck.

“I am going to make you come, Victoria,” he whispers against my skin.

When I walk up Victoria’s porch on Saturday morning, I can hear a war waging inside the house.

“Chloe, you can’t wear that shirt again. It’s dirty. Take it off now.” Victoria’s voice sounds stern but tired.

“But I like it,” Chloe retaliates.

“It’s dirty and smelly,” Lucas says. “Why do you want to be smelly?”

For a few minutes, I wait outside the door for the spirits to calm down, but things just seem to escalate. It’s best if I announce my presence, even if I’m twenty minutes early.

The second I ring the bell, the voices die down but then start again, now as low whispers. After a few hurried orders of “behave” and “pick your socks up off the floor,” the door swings open.

“Hi,” I say.

“You’re here early,” Victoria exclaims. She wears a bright orange robe she desperately tightens around her. Clearly she meant to change before my arrival. Something is different about her this morning. There are shadows under her eyes, and she looks utterly disheveled. She looks down at the gym bag in my hand as if considering something.

“Should I wait outside, or in my car?” I joke because she seems to need some lighting up.

“God, no.” If possible, she gets even more flustered than before, shaking her head and opening the door wider. “Sorry, I’m a bit of a mess this morning.”

“There’s no need to explain yourself to me,” I assure her as I walk inside. The little devils are nowhere to be seen. “Where did the kids disappear to? I heard them when I walked up onto the porch.”

“Chloe agreed to change when she heard the doorbell. Sienna’s helping her. Lucas went to change into soccer-appropriate clothes. Do you need to change?”

“Nah, this will do. I’ll change into a new shirt afterward.” I point to the gym bag, in which I packed a towel, shower gel, and a new shirt.

“Sorry for my outfit. I meant to change into something decent, but….”

And maybe it’s because she seems to get more distressed by the second, but I resort to the one thing I know will take her mind off it.

“Hey, I’m a big proponent of indecency. You’d make my day if you told me you’re wearing a camisole underneath that.” Seeing her blush, I can’t help leaning in and adding in a slight whisper, “And no panties.”

My words have the desired effect of making her laugh. “I’m not even awake enough to come up with a witty reply to that. Let’s go in the kitchen. I’ll make you a sandwich.”

As I follow her, I actually make an effort to avoid ogling her round, perky ass. Her robe is tightened around her middle, which highlights her other curves more than I wish it would.

“Do you ever leave the house wearing just your robe?”

“I know my choice of clothes is oddly colorful sometimes, but I don’t go out of the house in what’s practically underwear.”

“Not even to get the mail or something?”

She turns around as we enter the small kitchen, pursing her lips. “What’s with all the questions?”

“Just wondering if any of your neighbors saw what I’m seeing right now. I might have to kill a few if the answer’s yes.”

“Territorial much?”

Her question takes me by surprise, and damn, I haven’t been territorial with a woman in a long time. Victoria keeps surprising me. Not only that, she makes me surprise myself, and that has never happened before. Maybe this is why, despite my best efforts, I can’t tone down the flirting. Okay, scratch that. I’m not even making a decent effort. If anything, I’m looking for any opportunity to make her blush.

A slow smile spreads on her face. “Just think about all those men who saw me in a bikini.”

I love this woman’s spirit and talent for banter. Still, that doesn’t make me less of an ass. All I want is to prop her up on this counter, bury myself inside her, and lure sounds of pleasure out of her delicious mouth.

Eric and his daughter Julie are just in San Francisco for 3 months while he is expanding his company onto the West Coast. He’s not looking for a relationship nor does he have the time for one. Until he meets Pippa who doesn’t want a relationship either but they’re still wildly attracted to one another. Even when the Bennetts and Julie are doing their damndest to get them together.
