The sexy, action-packed first book in the Riot MC Biloxi series from Karen Renee.

If it weren’t for bad luck, Stephanie Combes would have no luck at all.

On top of stealing her identity and ruining her credit, Stephie’s ex-boyfriend has shamed her in the most unexpected way. As a card dealer, she’s determined to make a fresh start in Biloxi where the tips are better and she can climb out from under her shame and debt. Running into her long-lost stepbrother and his sexy-as-sin best friend wasn’t in the cards, but that was her bum-luck rearing its ugly head. The last thing she wants is another man in her life.

When it rains it pours, but lucky for Stephie, Har is there to save the day during the deluge. Staying with Har temporarily should be no problem, but they can’t deny their lust. The more Stephie distances herself, the more Har fights to keep her around. And he fights dirty.

Michael “Har” Walcott’s motorcycle club is in turmoil. As president of the Riot MC Biloxi chapter, he’s determined to get his club out of the drug trade, but his brothers are resistant. The last thing he needs is a woman dividing his focus from his brothers and his club… which is precisely when he meets a spunky and seemingly familiar brunette.

She’s familiar because Stephanie was once a stepsister to Har’s best friend Brute. Allowing her to distract him isn’t an option. But after her roof collapses, Har steps in to save the day. The more he learns about Stephie, the more he wants her to stay.

He fights his attraction, but he can’t control his impulses.

He hasn’t felt anything like this for a woman in years. It’ll be a cold day in hell before he lets it slip through his fingers again.

Clint
When I fell in love with Raegan, I fell in love with her mom and sister, too.
The day I left her in New York City was the worst day of my life. It destroyed our future, and I’ve regretted it ever since.
With Raegan back in Orlando, I’m determined to keep my distance to protect my heart and my peace of mind. The problem is deep down; I know this is my last shot at happiness and I won’t let it slip away.
When Raegan’s safety is threatened, I must fight to protect the only woman I’ve ever loved.

When had I lost my common sense? Whenever Raegan was around, that was when.

Years ago, my common sense fled around her because I was thinking with my dick. Now I had no idea why it took a hike around her.

It had been nice spending an evening with her at Cassie’s, but it fucked with my head. In my line of work, having my head fucked up wasn’t hazardous –it could be fatal.

A Hyundai Elantra pulled up in front of my house, the thudding bass audible even with the torrential rain.

“Goddammit,” I hissed.

I put my drink on the banister, reached inside the front door, and grabbed a golf umbrella. The wind had died down, so that was a relief. I trudged to the driver’s side door and opened the door.

“You’re gonna go deaf, as loud as you listen to your classic rock.”

She was leaned over the console, but she waved a hand at me in dismissal. “Save it, Clint. My hearing is perfectly fine. In fact, my hearing is why I’m here.”

I stood close to the car so she could get out without getting wet. “Come on, Mamá. Never know when the wind’s gonna pick up again.”

She glowered up at me but put her tiny umbrella aside. She straightened from the car, her handbag on the crook of her elbow. I threw her door closed, and she beeped the locks.

On the porch, I set the umbrella off to the side to drip dry. I turned to see Mamá scowling at my drink.

“So, it’s true. She’s back?”

There was no sense lying to Mamá. All of her children were transparent to her.

“She is, but—”

“But nothing. I hear Penny Connelly hopes you two will hit it off again.”

“There’s nothing to hit off again, Mamá. You shouldn’t have driven over here in this weather. Do you want to go in—”

She pointed a finger at me. “No. You know I just got off work, so I had to drive in the rain regardless. Plus, I was not going to have this conversation with you on the phone. You’re a grown man, Clint, but that doesn’t mean I’m not still protective. Do not let that woman do you wrong again.”

“Laura or Erica listen when you’re like this?”

She narrowed her eyes. “Don’t get logical on me, dear. Miracles happen, and one day the miracle will be one of my children listening to me. You can be my favorite son if you listen about this.”

I chuckled. “Ma, I’m your only son, and you love us all. None of us are your favorite.”

She arched a brow conceding the point.

A thought hit me and I canted my head at her. “How’d you find out Penny hopes we’ll hit it off again?”

A devious smile curled her lips. “I run a hair salon, Clint. Beauty might be my business, but I trade in gossip by the hour.”

I sighed because I damn sure knew that.

“You don’t cut Penny’s hair, though, and she doesn’t get out that often.”

She nodded. “Yes, but I know her stylist. And her stylist has the loosest lips.”

I looked out at the street. The rain had tapered off.

“So, what? You just here to lecture and run?”

“Of course. Rumor has it Erica is back with that no-good Carlos. So many lectures, so little time. I love you.”

I bent so she could kiss my cheeks. “Love you too, Mamá. I’ll walk you to your car.”

She waved me away. “Don’t bother. I won’t melt.”

“You raised me better than that. Let’s go.”

I stood on the sidewalk watching her car until she turned the corner, pleased to see she’d got her right turn signal fixed.

Sitting on the porch again, I smiled. It was good Mamá had dropped by, because regardless of my age, that was a lecture I needed to hear. Even though I heard every word she said, and I agreed with her; I wasn’t sure I could stay away from Raegan.

The sound of a walker sliding across the floor woke me. I sat up and Penny smiled.

“Good morning, Clint. You could’ve slept in a bedroom last night.”

I shook my head. “Raegan said the same thing, but I wouldn’t have heard anything if I were in Wynnie’s room.”

“Not the bedroom I was thinking of,” she muttered as she approached the stove.

I bit back my chuckle while shaking my head.

When I was in my jeans, I threw my dress shirt on but didn’t button it. I grabbed two coffee mugs and put them next to the stove. Penny avoided my eyes, but I had patience and stared at her until she looked at me.

“What?”

“We aren’t getting back together, Penny. I appreciate that you hold hope, but you need to direct it elsewhere.”

“Plenty of people have told me not to cling to hopes, Clint. And I never listened to a damned one of them. You’re a fine man, but you’re no different. I’m not gonna listen to you tell me not to hope for the best things for my girl. And make no mistake, you are the best thing that ever happened to my Rae-of-sunshine.”

I closed my eyes as heat hit my chest. Those were really nice words, but I wished they’d come from Raegan.

After a deep breath, I opened my eyes. “Thank you, Penny. I just don’t want to see you get hurt.”

She shook her head. “Watching life pass my daughter by is what will hurt. Not holding onto the hope she comes to her damn senses.”

“Penny,” I whispered.

“Now. You still take cream with your coffee? Hate to tell you, but we don’t have that Cafe Bustello stuff you like. Your choices are a breakfast blend or this cockamamie caramel latte business Raegan picked up.”

“It’s a caramel macchiato, Mom and there’s nothing cockamamie about it,” Raegan said from the doorway.

In the middle of the night, I had missed her shapely legs in those insanely short shorts. Her nipples beaded under the bright blue t-shirt with three clouds across the chest. I ignored all of that, but the sight of her hair piled on top of her head in a messy bun made my dick twitch because I desperately wanted to yank it all down before I kissed her hard.

Dammit

I had to stop those thoughts or the visions they brought on were going to kill me.

I faced Penny, who had a knowing smirk on her face, and said, “Breakfast blend is fine, and two creams plus one sugar works for me. Just point me in the direction of the sugar.”

“It’s right behind you. I’ll be right back,” Raegan mumbled before she hustled down the hallway.

I heard coffee being poured into mugs while I grabbed the sugar container. When I looked to Penny, she wore her lopsided smile. “I think it was something you said, Clint.”

When Cassie finds Gabe to work it out, she discovers he’s kept a secret from her. He claims he was protecting her, but his betrayal cuts too deep.
Can their love overcome so many outside forces of confusion and betrayal?

It wasn’t until I felt the warmth inside me that I realized Gabe and I had been so carried away he hadn’t put on a condom.

“Oh, no,” I sighed.

He lifted his head, and his warm blue eyes narrowed. “That should be ‘oh, yeah,’ honey.”

“You didn’t use a condom… and I’m not on the pill.”

His relaxed smile dimmed and his eyes focused on a spot behind me.

I didn’t take that as a good sign. “I guess I’ll have to hurry to the drug store. See about getting a morning-after pill or something, but I don’t know if I have to see the doctor first for that.”

His eyes met mine. Then, he thrust a couple more times into me.

“Gabe! What are you doing? As athletic as you are, your sperm are probably Olympic-style swimmers. Are you trying to get me pregnant? I can’t bring an illegitimate child into the world!”

He bit his lower lip before his head tilted back and he laughed. I swatted at his chest, because nothing about this was the least bit funny.

When he captured my wrist in his hand, I saw the serious look in his eyes. “How fuckin’ awesome would it be if I got married before Brock or Vamp? I get your ass pregnant, I’ll marry you. I’m that fuckin’ serious about you. About us, sweetheart. Not only can I not imagine life without you in it, I don’t fuckin’ want to contemplate it. So, hopefully, this drives it home,” he thrust again on the words drive and home. “I love you, Daughtry.”

My brows furrowed. “That all sounds fine and great, but did you come in here planning to go bare?”

He shook his head. “No, you make me crazy horny, I couldn’t stop myself. But hear me when I say this: if you’re pregnant after this, it is not the end of the world. It’s the beginning, and a damned good one if you ask me.”

“Marriage?” I blurted.

He slowly pulled himself out of me, but put his hand on me. His earnest grin made my heart skip a beat. “Why the hell not? You got someone else you want to spend your time with at night? In the morning? Some other man know you’re crazy enough to love Mick Jagger the way you do? And do not get me started on your devotion to Tori Amos. I love all of that about you. And we already know you love me. So, yeah. Marriage.”

I put my hand on his wrist to move his hand. He wouldn’t budge.

“Marriage, then a baby, Sullivan. I’m a little old school that way, okay?”

His fingers pressed into me, and my eyes widened. “It’ll happen the way it’s supposed to happen.”

I shoved against his wrist again, and finally he let go. With no time to waste, I hopped off the counter and moved to the toilet.

“You’re cleaning up that mess on the counter, Gabe.”

“As long as you’re not going to the drugstore, Cassie.”

She hadn’t lowered her volume even though the alcove muted the music, which told me she was riding a serious buzz.

“How much you had to drink, Daughtry?”

She whipped her head around, her hair flying around like a cascade of brown silk. Coupled with all the makeup and her skin-tight red dress, she was a wet dream.

“Don’t call me ‘Daughtry,’ got it?”

I pressed my lips together so I wouldn’t smile, or worse, laugh. I forgot she could be such a cute drunk.

“I got it, Cassie. Can you calm down for a moment?”

She crossed her arms under her breasts which only highlighted her cleavage in the scoop-neck dress. My dick twitched, and it was all I could do not to groan.

“I’m perfectly calm,” she declared. Her voice had lowered to a normal level.

I nodded. “Great. Let me ask you this, were you having fun dancing out there?”

Her lips started to twist, but she stopped them and lifted her chin mulishly. “Yes, I was.”

I gave into my grin. “Liar. You were not.”

Her eyes narrowed. “You’re not a know-it-all, Gabe. Don’t try to start now.” She ended her admonishment with her lips pouted.

Fuck. I wanted to kiss her again, but now she was drunk. Okay, maybe just tipsy, but still. I couldn’t take advantage of her like that.

After what seemed an eternity, Brock’s dress shirt slipped off his arms and he unbuttoned his dark-wash jeans while I watched his legs shift as he toed out of his shoes. I pressed my lips together to keep my thoughts to myself, but apparently Brock could read me.

“Just say it, honey,” he murmured.

Laying naked on his turned-down bed, I asked, “Say what… honey?”

With his thumbs in his boxer-briefs, he gave me a semi-incredulous look. “You know ‘what,’ Sunflower. That it’s about time I got naked with you.”

Sunflower?

I couldn’t devote any head space to that. He wanted to give me a nickname, so be it. Besides, the unveiling of the main event was happening before my eyes. His chest was unrealistically tan for a man who was in college. As I scrutinized his torso, his pecs flexed, and my eyes flew to his.

Those eyes of his were something else with their intensity and ability to ask me a question without him saying word one. They were staring intensely at me as though to underscore his statement, but I was distracted by his thumbs in his boxer-briefs.

After a lengthy moment, I whispered, “Yeah. It’s about time all right, Brock.”

I heard a low growling noise before he said, “You got that right, Cecilia.”

He kissed me again, and it was worse than I realized. The kiss on the dance floor was such that in no way did I think it could be topped, but this one beat it. Worse yet, there was a hint to his kiss that I knew not only he could do better, but we could do better. And if our kisses could get better, what did that say for the main event? His lips disengaged before I could think about that any further.
With glittering eyes, he asked, “Is there really any reason for you not to see where this can go? I don’t have to be your bad habit, but I want you to be mine. Period.”
I didn’t even have to mull it over: it was time for me to develop a new habit. If I was lucky, it would stick.
