Cover Reveal ~ Unexpected Expectations ~ by ~ Lauren Helms

We’ve waited for months for this moment and now it’s time to share the first cover in the third season of the loved, 425 Madison Ave series. Check out the gorgeous cover for Unexpected Expectations by Lauren Helms, a must-read rags to riches romance!

Kevin

With everyone around me settling down, I’m happy to continue living my life single and carefree.

That is unless I can convince the concierge, Lucy Wilson at 425 Madison to finally take me up on that offer to go out on a date.

She’s beautiful, friendly, and her compassion for each and every one of the residents is admirable. Something tells me that she doesn’t see herself that way at all though.

This is why I’ve made it my mission to break her out of her overly cautious shell starting with a lucky penny and a $10 raffle ticket.

It was all supposed to be a little fun but when a large dose of lucky graces us, everything suddenly becomes unexpected.

Lucy

He thinks I don’t see him, but I do. Oh yes, I’ve been aware of the all too good looking Kevin Harper for quite some time now.

The thing is, I’m not sure that we have enough in common and I sure don’t have the free time for a social life between my job and school. Dating? That’s pretty far down on the list of things I’d like to check off – not by choice.

That is until Kevin convinces me that a little fun is good for the soul.

What started as a $10 raffle ticket turned into a vacation in Vegas and a whole lot of expectations that neither of us saw coming.

I always believed in fairy tales, but I wonder if what we have is too good to be true. I can only hope that it’s true what they say…

After all, 425 Madison is the perfect place to fall in love.

She’s warmer, softer somehow. Jasen is shocked to find himself falling in love with his gorgeous wife all over again. But… is she really his wife?

When tragedy strikes, Morgan is forced to choose between continuing the lie and owning up to her deception. I stop in my tracks as I hear the front door slam. This is it. The plan is in motion. My heart beats faster, and my palms become sweaty as I try my best to remain calm in the denim jean skirt and midriff top that Monroe forced me to change into. I’m sure this is regular attire for her, but it isn’t something I would wear, and I feel very exposed at the moment. Jasen walks in with his briefcase, and immediately, my lungs stop working. He drops the briefcase down in front of him and watches me with the sexiest dark brown eyes I’ve ever seen. This is not the teenaged Jasen I remember. He’s bigger. Sexier. His muscles strain against the blue collared shirt he’s wearing. His sleeves are rolled up, revealing thick biceps. He looks like walking lust and temptation. He turns and opens a cabinet. “How was Philly?”
“Good,” I answer as my body heats from nervousness. And other things.
He closes the cabinet and turns around to face me. He narrows his eyes as he tears the wrapper off the granola bar in his hand. “You’re awfully quiet. Is something wrong?” he asks before taking a bite.
“No, everything’s fine,” I reply.
“How’s your sister?”
“She’s doing great.”
“So, you two are good? You’re speaking again now?”
“Yup.”
“Good, now you can stop talking about how much you hate her.”
“What?” I ask softly.
I’m not sure if I heard him correctly; did he just say that Monroe hated me?
He stops chewing. “Oh, come on, you say it all the time, Monroe. How Morgan was the favorite, and how Grandma Rose always defended her no matter how wrong she was.”
So, I had heard him correctly. I’m instantly angered. Monroe hated me. She betrayed me, so I should be the one hating her, not the other way around. Had I known about this sooner, I would have never agreed to help her. I snap out of it and answer his question. “We worked out our differences. Everything is good now.”
He takes the last bite as he watches me. He swallows and tosses the wrapper in the nearby trash bin as he walks closer. My body stiffens when he stops right in front of me.
Uh-oh!
He’s entirely too close. His lips are mere inches from mine, and I can smell the mixture of peanut butter and chocolate on his breath. I can also smell his cologne. And it’s intoxicating. He places his hand around my waist and gently pulls me to him. “Did you think about my suggestion? Are you willing to try?” he asks.
“Yes,” I answer as my eyes fixate on his.
“So, you’ll go?” he continues.
“Yes,” I answer again, mesmerized by his baritone voice.
“Good. I think it will be good for us,” he responds.
He leans in and kisses me, rendering me powerless. My eyes close and my mouth opens as I allow his tongue to enter. Sparks ignite every nerve ending. His hands make their way under my skirt, and he tugs at my thong, pulling it down. It fall to my ankles, and he lifts me up and on top of the countertop. I’m lost in the moment. It’s been so long since I’ve touched a man, and my body is all too welcoming of Jasen’s hands. My skirt is lifted around my waist, his fingers are between my legs, and he’s kissing my neck softly. “I’ve missed touching you. I want you so bad, Monroe… right here, right now.”
My eyes fly open at the mention of my sister’s name, and I clasp my legs together just as his finger reaches my clit.
“What’s wrong?” he asks.
“I can’t,” I answer.

TBRreview

I’m not normally a huge forbidden romance fan. Just not my jam. BUT that being said, I absolutely LOVED this story! I read The Deceptive Twin mostly while I should have been sleeping but #insomnia. And then I finished the rest while I was on lunch while working from home because I just needed to know what happened with Morgan/Monroe/Jasen.

I knew from the jump I was not a Monroe fan. And I guess in reading the book, the reader was meant to not be a fan of Monroe and being more pulled towards Team Morgan. And I definitely was pulled. Although truthfully, I was somewhat skeptical of her as well just by reading the synopsis. But that’s my own not liking cheating stories.

I truly did end up liking Morgan and Jasen afterwards while reading the story. And was able to really like the story between Jasen and Morgan. Definitely an author to add to my reading list!

5 stars!

Mignon Mykel

Mignon Mykel, author of reader-favorite Prescott Family, loves books, dreaming, and espresso. When not writing, you can find her reading, hiking, or hanging out with her adorable nanny boy-os.

Her books have been likened to “real life” and much like real life, sometimes the biggest hurdle in a relationship is one’s self. Outside forces are not always applicable in the struggle toward HEA. She loves to read books in large worlds, where many books down the road, you get a glimpse at a former favorite couple. It is because of that, that every Mignon Mykel title you read, is connected to any other title in some shape or form. However, everything—with the exception of the Playmaker Duet—is a complete standalone.

Aubree Valentine

Aubree Valentine began her book world career back in 2016 as a virtual assistant for a friend/author and as a book blogger. While working with authors, PR companies and fellow bloggers, she fell even more in love with the Indie community and decided to launch her own small scale PR company where she continued to hone her skills as a virtual assistant to several authors and studied the ins and outs of what it takes to help succeed in the industry. When she’s not working with her partner in crime, you can find her penning fun and flirty stories about all of her imaginary and very smexy alphas. This includes her current and most popular series, Too Hot To Handle.

Aubree has a degree in sarcasm and resides in Pennsylvania. She enjoys reading, chasing after her twins and her three furbabies, cuddling with her husband, and coming up with new project ideas that often involve power tools. She’s usually always online via Facebook or Instagram @authoraubreevalentine.

Jennifer Bonds

Jennifer Bonds writes sizzling contemporary romance with sassy heroines, sexy heroes, and a whole lot of mischief. She’s a sucker for enemies-to-lovers stories, laugh out loud banter, and over the top grand gestures.

While she’d like to tell you she’s always loved reading, it just wouldn’t be true. In second grade her mom had to bribe her to read (and learn multiplication tables), but by the time she reached middle school she was hopelessly addicted to all things fiction. Amazingly, it didn’t help her popularity level, but did inspire her to write her first book, which (thankfully) is buried in the basement where it will never see the light of day.

Ten years of professional insanity and one MBA later, Jennifer decided to take a chance and pursue her dream of writing. Because, honestly, what could be better than spending your days reading and writing swoonworthy romance?

She also writes YA paranormal romance as J.J. Bonds.

Jennifer lives in Pennsylvania, where her overactive imagination and weakness for reality TV keep life interesting. She’s lucky enough to live with her own real life hero, two adorable (and sometimes crazy) children, and one rambunctious K9. Loves Buffy, Mexican food, the Winchester brothers, and all things zombie. Sings off-key.

Brooke O’Brien

Brooke O’Brien is the author of the Heart’s Compass series, the Tattered Heart duet, and her newest release, BRIX, a stepbrother/bully romance.

Growing up Brooke always had a love of writing; she started out writing poetry when she was young and began journaling her thoughts as she grew older. Diving headfirst into a good book has always been therapeutic for her. Now her two passions have collided.

Brooke believes you can cure any bad day with chocolate or by going on a long drive with the windows down and the music turned up! She’s found that’s when her characters talk to her the most! If she’s not reading or writing, you’ll probably find her spending time with her family and friends, watching Hawkeye football or NBA basketball, going to the movies, or collecting signed paperbacks.

She loves to interact with readers! Keep in touch with Brooke by following her on Social Media and join her exclusive Reader Group.

Victoria Pinder

USA Today Bestselling Author, Victoria Pinder grew up in Irish Catholic Boston before moving to the Miami sun though she left that for a while to live in New Orleans, Denver and now Pittsburgh. She started single but the husband and then children joined in on the fun. She’s worked in engineering, then lawyer, then teacher, and finally novelist. She refused to one day turn 50 and realize she had nothing but her career and hours at a desk.

During all this time and travel, she always wrote stories to entertain herself or calm down. Her parents are practical minded people demanding a job, and Victoria spent too many years living other people’s expectations, but when she sat down to see what skill she had that matched what she enjoyed doing, writing became so obvious. The middle school year book when someone wrote in it that one day she’d be a writer made sense when she turned thirty.

She’s always been amazing, adventurous and assured. It’s what gets her through the day.

“We’ll go together,”
Kade answered. That was when I realized he’d done this before.
“This isn’t your
first time.”
“No, Sweetheart.” He
touched my cheek. “I’ve got you.”
He so did. He
totally had me, and I hardly knew him.
He then threaded his
fingers through my hair. I couldn’t stop the moan. “We need to braid this.” His
voice was seductively soft. This man was going to be my undoing. He’d thought
ahead when he pulled an elastic tie from his pocket.
His strong fingers
twisted my hair; his touch lingered on my neck, like he was enjoying the moment
as much as me. I was so wet and all he was doing was braiding my hair. The
thought of his mouth on me had an ache accompanying the wet heat. He tugged
lightly on my hair, but the thought of him pulling my head back for his kiss,
caused more heat to pool between my legs. It was official, I had no control around
him, and I fucking loved it.

Book Tour ~ T-Bone ~ by ~ L. Wilder

Title: T-Bone

Series: Satan’s Fury MC – Memphis
Author: L. Wilder
Genre: Romance Suspense
Release Date: July 16, 2020

Over the years I’d been with my share of women. Hell, I’d had more than I could count, but for one reason or another, it never seemed to last. I’d told myself that I just hadn’t found the one, and I was okay with that. I had the club, and with my brothers at my side, I had everything I needed—or so I thought.

Alyssa was young, smoking hot, and had the world at her fingertips. I knew better than to even give her a second look. I was too old, lived a life that wasn’t suited for a woman like her, and as if that wasn’t enough, she was Hyde’s younger sister.

I told myself we were just friends, but in a heated moment, we crossed a line—a line I knew should’ve never been crossed. I knew then that one night would never be enough. There’d be consequences, but I honestly didn’t care.

It wasn’t until I lost her that I realized that it wasn’t about finding the one. It was about being the one. If she’d give me the chance, I’d be that for her and more—even if it meant giving up everything to have her.

Wall Street Journal and USA Today Best Seller, L. Wilder, writes about hot, alpha men and the women who love them. She currently has six series available for readers: The Devil Chaser’s MC, Satan’s Fury MC, Satan’s Fury MC-Memphis, the Redemption Series, the Happy Endings Collection, and the Ruthless Sinners MC. If you’re looking for a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat and have you smiling like a school girl at the end, L. Wilder is the author for you.

Spotlight Tour ~ Revenge ~ by ~ Jessie Cooke

Title: Revenge
Series: Southside Skulls MC
Author: Jessie Cooke
Genre: MC Romance
Release Date: June 2, 2020
On the outside, Dax Marshall, the charismatic, enigmatic leader of the Southside Skulls seems to have everything.

He was born MC royalty, the little prince of the legendary Doc Marshall and the beautiful Dallas Paxton.

He was handed the empire his father built when he was only twenty-one years old.

He took it to new heights, and married the “perfect” woman and started the “perfect” family.

He had the respect and admiration of hundreds, and to most he seemed blessed with even more than his fair share of good luck.

But even lucky men have secrets, and Dax Marshall is about to find out that nothing stays buried forever.
When fifteen-year-old Dax meets his first love, a series of events are set into motion that will take him from basking in the glow of young love to a murderous rampage that will span two decades, and threaten to destroy everyone and everything Dax Marshall has ever held dear.

The rain pelted Dax’s face, each icy drop like a slap against his frozen cheeks. The wind whipped through his wet hair, and his jeans and t-shirt clung to his body like a second skin. He was aware of it all, but vaguely. His attention was on the dark water that ran underneath the bridge he was standing on, and the two heavy trash bags that he’d just thrown over the railing and watched as they sank slowly into the Charles River.
He stood there until they’d completely disappeared, not even noticing the crimson-colored drops of rain that slid down his arms and rolled off his hands, finally splashing against the concrete at his feet. The icy rain stung the scratches on his arms, and he was faintly aware of the burning sensation that lay underneath the splotches of pink on his t-shirt where his skin had been torn open by the knife. Dizziness assaulted him all at once, and he reached out to grip the railing, closing his eyes to regain his bearings. As soon as he did, the entire scene began to replay itself in his head, beginning with getting off the plane at Boston’s Logan International Airport, early that afternoon.
He’d been physically and emotionally overwrought, and the only thing on his mind was getting home to his family. He slung his canvas bag over his shoulder and headed for the exit, but just before he got there, he was overcome by a blast from the past. It took a hell of a lot to shake Dax up, but at that moment he was shaken to his very core. The sights and sounds of the busy airport disappeared and he became acutely aware of his rapidly beating heart and the burn of the acid in his stomach and throat.
It had been at least twenty years since he’d seen the man’s face. There were light scars where the tattoos had been removed from his face, and the collar of his shirt hid the ones on his neck, if they were still there…but Dax knew without a doubt who he was looking at. The man’s eyes were focused on the woman he was talking to, but even from a distance, they were still like looking into bottomless pits of darkness.
Dax had been so overcome with emotion at that moment that he’d almost confronted the man right there in the airport. He was well versed in the art of self-control; he’d been trained by the best. But just then as his own blue eyes lay glued to the man’s face, he felt his restraint waning. He had to physically shake himself and take a deep breath and remind himself who he was. He was Dax Marshall, son of Doc Marshall and the leader of the largest MC on the East Coast. He wasn’t a little boy any longer and the man with the wicked black eyes no longer had any hold on him.
Instead of the confrontation that Dax physically ached for, he stood back, out of sight of the man and the woman the man was with. After a few minutes, the two kissed goodbye and the woman went toward the TSA checkpoint with her bag in tow. The dark-eyed man watched her until she disappeared around the corner, and then turned and headed for the door. Dax let him get a good distance ahead, and then he followed him out. At the time, he had no real plan for what he’d do when he got the man alone, but he knew he couldn’t let him get away…again. Dax had fantasized about this moment for years, and his fantasies were about to come true.
He followed the man to short term parking and watched him get into a late-model Lexus SUV. He hated taking a chance on losing him, but the parking garage was busy, and he knew security cameras were watching from every corner. He watched the man pull out of his parking spot, memorized the license plate number, and then on his way up the stairs to the level where his bike was parked, he called Hunter.
“Hey, boss!”
“Hunter, I need a name and address on a registration on a cream-colored Lexus LX with vanity plates. They’re Massachusetts plates, Lexi229.”
“You got it. You need this in a rush?”
“Yes, and Hunter, I also need you to forget I ever asked about this.”
“Give me five minutes, boss, and then it’ll be like I never heard from you.”
Dax thanked him and hung up. When he got to his bike he made another call, this one to Angel.
“Hi, baby! Are you on the ground?”
“Yeah, but unfortunately, on the ground in Dallas.”
“Dallas?”
“Yeah, my flight out of LAX was delayed and this one is grounded until morning. I’m sorry, but I won’t be home until tomorrow.”
“Oh…damn.”
“Everything okay there? You and Susie doing okay?”
“Yeah, baby, we’re fine. The guys are always looking out for us. I just miss you and I have something I wanted to talk to you about.”
“I miss you too, and we’ll talk as soon as I get home.”
“Okay. I love you.”
“I love you more, baby.”
Dax felt a flutter of guilt for lying to his old lady. He rarely did that, but there were some things that she didn’t need to know…some things no one needed to know…and this was one of them. He unlocked his saddlebag and took out his kutte and put it on. He didn’t travel with it unless he was on his bike, representing his club. He slapped on his half-shell helmet then and threw a leg over his bike. He’d just settled into the leather seat when Hunter called him back. The car didn’t belong to the man; it was registered to a woman. Dax was relieved to hear the woman had the same last name as the man he was chasing, however, because that meant they probably shared an address as well. He thought about how lucky it was that the woman was boarding a plane; hopefully that meant he’d have the dark-eyed man all to himself.
Dax put the address Hunter gave him into his GPS and took off. The address was at a house in Newton that was only about a thirty-five-minute drive from the airport. Newton was a suburb near downtown Boston where the median income was six figures. If the black-eyed man owned property there, Dax didn’t doubt that property had been built on the backs and blood of other men, women…and probably children as well.
“Boss?” Now Dax looked up from the dark water into the eyes of his SA. Cody stood there holding a paper bag, as soaked to the skin as Dax was and looking at his president with worried eyes. Dax took the heavy bag out of Cody’s hand and opened it up far enough to look down into it. Satisfied with what he saw, he pulled his arm back like a professional baseball player and tossed it over the rail. He listened for the splash and then looked at Cody and said:
“It’s done. We better get out of here before the sun comes up. I’ll meet you back at the house.” Dax spent three hours at that house in Newton before he called Cody. Once Cody arrived, the two men spent another two or three hours there. It would still take them several more hours to do what they needed to do there and by that time, the sun would be up and Dax would need to decide what to tell Angel about his wounds before heading home. He hadn’t slept in almost forty-eight hours at that point, but there was no time for that. No rest for the wicked. With one last glance over the railing he pulled the Lexus keys out of his pocket, looked at Cody again, and said, “I’m sorry for dragging you into this.”
Cody wasn’t much of a talker, but he touched Dax on the shoulder and gave him a look that said everything he was feeling. The young man was loyal to a fault, and Dax knew that he’d be more upset with Dax for not calling him than he ever would be at him for reaching out for help. Cody was a good man, but he was a good man with a dark past, and Dax knew firsthand that darkness can be suppressed, but never completely extinguished. Sometimes he felt guilty knowing that darkness was what made Cody most invaluable to him on nights like this, and he couldn’t know that and not wonder, at what cost did it come to his young brother?

Dax climbed back behind the wheel of the Lexus and watched in the rearview mirror as Cody walked up the road to where he’d left his bike. Once he heard the Harley fire up, and Cody’s headlight came on, Dax started the car. As he pulled it out onto the road, he glanced into the rearview mirror again. This time, instead of seeing what was right behind him, he saw a pair of accusing blue eyes looking back at him. He remembered that feeling of hate that had hissed like hot lead through his veins as soon as the man with the dark eyes had opened the front door, and he remembered the five minutes of satisfaction that he’d had before the reality of what he’d just done had set in. And now…all he felt was numb.

Chadwick:
“Evelyn?” I
probe, still seated, my fingers steepled at my chin.
“Eve,
please call me Eve.”
“Oh, great.
Since we’re picking names and titles, please call me Sir.” My words are smooth,
yet with the dip in my timbre, I come across more demanding. And let’s face it—I am fucking demanding.
Her eyebrow
hitches, and the green sparkles playing against her almost chocolate eyes reel
me into her mind. Grabbing a stray strand of her slightly curled honey brown
hair must give her that second she needs to bring her mind to the present. “Um,
excuse me?” she asks, still standing, her tits about to fall out of the too
small dress that shows every luscious curve of her body.
“Sir. To
everyone here who works for me, they all need to call me Sir. It’s not
negotiable, Evelyn.”
“Okay…” Her
tone is almost a question, but her thought process continues, and I see it in
her eyes. “Sir, but please call me Eve.”
“Oh,
Evelyn, dear. I call people whatever the fuck I choose to call them.” My
McKenna from earlier is still on my desk. When I grab it, I tip it toward me
and take a long sip, never taking my gaze off her. She wiggles under my stare,
and I internally chuckle.
“Sir?” Now
her voice is the all-too-telling sass women try to pull with me.
“Yes,
Evelyn.”
“Why am I
here?” Her hands are on her hips, and it’s appropriate with the rise of pitch
in her tone.
“Evelyn,
you mean, why am I here, Sir?” I correct her.
A small
smirk creeps onto her face. “Um, yes, that’s right.” Her sarcasm isn’t lost on
me. “Why am I here, Sir?”
“Well,
Evelyn, if you want a job with me, your cute-ass attitude better disappear, you
understand? Now, take that cute ass of yours”—I point at the chair in front of
my desk—“that’s too fucking sassy at this point, and let’s chat. I understand
you’re down on your luck, and I have an offer for you.”

A lumpy
bundle in the ditch captured her attention. Patience was past it before she
braked. Frowning, she peered in the rearview mirror and waited for the dust
cloud to settle.
Still
there.
What was
it? Too large to be a dog. Maybe a bear? A garbage bag? It wouldn’t be the
first time some idiot tried getting rid of their trash on the side of a rural
road.
Squinting,
she couldn’t make out what it was, but she swore part of the blue appeared to
be denim material.
No. It
couldn’t be a person.
Looking
around, she couldn’t see a motorcycle or anything that suggested an automobile
wreckage of any sort.
She ran her
tongue along her teeth. Good thing she fueled up. Someone had to check this
lump out.
She stepped
out of her car and blinked in the sunlight. It was a cool day, typical for late
spring. Dirty snow was still piled in the ditches, but it’d been a mild winter,
and whatever the bundle was hadn’t landed in more than dried grasses.
“Hello?”
She inched closer to the edge of the road. If it was garbage, please be old
rags. Something that didn’t ooze. Picking up other people’s trash was full of
icky surprises.
The lump
didn’t move.
“Garbage
dumpers,” she muttered and crept closer. A mop of rich brown hair caught her
gaze.
The pile
wasn’t small. And it had hair.
Her heart
rate kicked up. A person. But there was no vehicle around. Was he dumped?
She knew it
was a he because of the size. Not that women couldn’t be that big. But this was
definitely a guy. Because the more she studied him, the better able she could
make out that he was on his side and had incredibly broad shoulders.
“Excuse
me?” she said, sounding more timid than she cared to.
No
movement.
“Sir?” She
took a step closer.
No
response.
She closed
the distance between them and stood over him. His shoulders moved in time with
his steady breathing. Good, he was alive at least. Before she could wonder
about her personal safety, she crouched as far away as possible but close
enough to reach out and nudge one heavily muscled arm. “Hey?”
Nothing.
Circling
him, she had a dying need to know what he looked like. If she was getting taken
down by a stranger, she wanted to see his face.
Admittedly,
this stranger didn’t seem like he’d attack anyone any time soon.
A leather
coat flap obscured his face. Since he was breathing, she pushed him to his
back. A normal person would call an ambulance, but there was no way she’d risk
that. With her luck, Damian would be on duty, and she couldn’t risk running
across him. The restraining order had expired and he hadn’t bothered her—yet.
The man
groaned as he settled on his back.
Her lips
parted. He was a mess. But he was a hot
mess. Bits of grass mixed with rich brown strands. A neatly trimmed beard
framed his chiseled face. Everything about him screamed strength and power.
Quite a feat for an unconscious man. She didn’t have to move his jacket and
shirt around to know that he had a great body.
But she had
no wish to touch his shirt. Blood was spattered across it. She couldn’t see any
open wounds. Not his blood? Her gaze swept his long body. No major injuries
other than bloody knuckles.
Her jaw
tightened. He was in a fight before he ended up here. Self-defense? Or was he a
mean bastard?
“What’s
your story?”
