Someone peered over his shoulder.

A black clawed finger landed on the piece of paper in front of him, close to his. “Here.”

Grey jumped and growled at the male beside him. The warlock. Wizard. Whatever the hell he wanted to be called. He reeked of magic and death.

Even the succubus backed off, her usual bright smile and sultry air turning cold and dark. She said something, and the male said something back at her, a bite in his tone.

“You speak English?” Grey didn’t want to talk to the male, but he wasn’t going to get anywhere speaking with the bartender or anyone else in the joint.

The male didn’t nod.

Not a good sign.

“This is here?” He pointed to the name on the piece of paper again.

The male nodded and looked around. “Here.”

It was a start.

“You speak her tongue?” Grey pointed towards the bartender. “Speak. Her.”

The male frowned, his icy green eyes darkening a shade, and looked at the female, and then back at him. “Yes.”

Getting there.

But the male didn’t really understand him. He couldn’t ask complicated questions and have him relay them to the bartender for her to answer, and the male wouldn’t know the answer to them himself since he was clearly just passing through and using the village as a rest stop.

He needed to boil it down into something the male might understand.

“Mortals. Humans.” It was worth a shot. He pointed to himself. “I’m looking for mortals.”

The male’s eyes lit up. He pointed east. “Mortals.”

Grey looked in that direction. East. The dragon realm and the Devil’s lands were east of here. He slid his blue gaze back to the male, his hackles rising and his animal side growing restless, prowling beneath his skin.

Was the male telling him the truth?

“Mortals?” Grey pointed east, along the length of the bar.

The male nodded and attempted a smile. It came off twisted and disturbing rather than reassuring.

“Definitely?” Because he was starting to get the feeling that the male was trying to get him killed. “Because dragons are that way.”

The male shook his head. “No dragons. Mortals.”

Grey pulled the map out of his trouser pocket, spread it across the bar top and jammed a finger against the area Sable had labelled as ‘here be dragons’ and had drawn what he imagined was meant to be a dragon, but it looked more like a snake fighting a spider.

“Dragons.” He tapped the paper.

The warlock shook his head again, his eyes darkening another shade and his thin lips flattening. He jabbed a black claw against a spot west of the dragons, and east of their current location.

“Mortals. There.”

So close?

Was it possible?

“Here?” Grey pointed to the map.

The male looked as if he was going to kill him if he asked again, an inky sort of darkness growing around his pupils to devour the pale green of his irises.

“Okay. Here it is. Got it. Thanks.” Grey bundled up his papers and his backpack in his arms and left before the male could even think about muttering a spell to flay his fur off his body.

He breathed deep as he hit the village square again, shaking off his nerves and the sensation that the male was trying to get him killed. He just smelled of death, that was all it was. It had put Grey on edge.

He looked back at the tavern. Even the succubi had avoided the male. He turned away from the village and headed east, glancing at the male’s tent as he passed it. It was set up a good distance from the rest of the tents and from the huts, placed right against the perimeter wall of the village.

That struck a chord in him.

The warlock had come to the village, but had separated himself from them, was keeping his distance even though he obviously wanted to be around others.

The male had been helpful, but because he had looked different to the others, Grey had found it difficult to trust him. He had judged him on his appearance, and had believed he wanted to kill him because of that. He was no better than the others.

He should have been.

Experience should have taught him something, should have made him react differently to the male, but he had treated him with suspicion, just like the rest.

Just like his pride had treated him.

All because he was different to them.

Gods, he was no better than them.

He hated that.

It weighed him down as he trekked east, following the lead the male had given him.

It took him across the valley basin to the foot of a low mountain range.

He looked along it in both directions, and then at his map. By his calculations, the quickest route would be over the mountains, because the range stretched in both directions for miles. If he tried to go around, it would take him at least another day to reach the destination the warlock had marked for him.

By then, Archangel might have moved on.

He adjusted his pack on his shoulders, huffed and started forwards, picking a path up the gently sloping side of the mountain. He crossed a trail around two hundred metres up and followed it as it wound through the sharp towering rocks and up through tall crevasses that sliced into the black mountain. The trail grew narrow near the top, heading towards a sweeping curve between two peaks.

He brought his pack around to his front and pressed his back against the black rock as he edged sideways along the path, his eyes on the steep drop to jagged rocks below and his heart hammering against his ribs. No damn way he was going to fall. He breathed through the fear, refusing to let it get to him, and looked to his right, focusing on the path instead.

It opened up a short distance ahead.

Relief was quick to sweep through him when his boots hit the wider path and the trail led away from the edge, over the ridge.

Gods, he was tired.

He pulled a cloth from his back pocket and wiped the sweat from his brow, and ran his other hand over his silver hair. He would rest on the other side. This high up the mountain, he was unlikely to run into any wild beasts. He could spare a few minutes to catch his breath and rest his legs. He unhooked the canteen from his pack, took a swig of the tepid water, and capped it and put it back again. He was getting low.

Thorne had warned him not to trust the water in Hell.

Apparently, some of it wasn’t water at all.

Grey didn’t want to know what that meant.

He figured it wouldn’t end well for him and that was enough to have him steering clear of hitting any stream he saw for a refill of his canteen.

He reached the top of the mountain.

His breath caught.

Good gods.

It was as if he could see the entire world.

Or at least all of Hell.

Beyond the valley far below him, steeper mountains rose, forming ridge after ridge into the distance, where the sky glowed bright gold. The Devil’s domain.

Hell was bleak, grim, but had a strange sort of beauty to it from up here.

He started down the mountain, his eyes leaping back to the view whenever they could, drinking it in. It was incredible. How big was Hell? He should have looked back in the other direction at the ridge to see if he could figure it out. Maybe he would stop there and drink it all in if he came back this way.

He picked out a spot to rest as he scouted the route ahead of him, a nice flat space just a little over halfway down the mountain and only accessible from one side, giving him some protection.

He was close to it when lights in the valley caught his eye.

He slowed his steps and tracked them as they flickered and danced, a row of flaming gold spots crossing the darkness, heading to his left, deeper into the valley.

Archangel?

He looked in the direction they were heading, and frowned. More lights glowed there. Another village? Or a base of operations for a mortal hunter organisation up to no good?

Thoughts of resting scattered and he marched down the mountain, intent on reaching the valley floor before the people walking towards the settlement reached it. He needed to find out if they were Archangel soldiers, and he needed to do it before they joined up with the others. He could handle a few hunters, but not an entire base of operations.

His boots skidded on the loose black shale as he hurried down the mountain, and he fought for balance more than once, attempting a controlled slide that would get him down into the valley quicker than using the paths.

When he hit the valley floor, he paused for breath, his eyes scanning the dimly lit world around him. He spotted the torches off to his left, about five hundred metres out from his current position. He drew down a deep breath, held it in his lungs to steady his heart and centre himself and exhaled slowly. His senses sharpened, his animal side rising to the fore, allowing him to see into the darkness ahead of him.

Allowing him to see the people crossing the valley.

Every inch of him stilled.

And then a slow burn started in his blood.

It wasn’t Archangel.

He growled low in his throat at the sight of the large male figures, at the thick chains they gripped, and the captives they dragged along behind them.

It was slave traders.

He caught a flash of the two tiger shifter females he had found huddled naked and terrified in their cages, held against their will by Pyotr, the male Maya had been promised to as a cub.

That burn grew hotter, fiercer, blazing white hot, and he curled his hands into fists, his emerging claws digging into his palms as his tiger side raged, battered his control and pushed him to react, to obey his instincts.

To protect.

No one deserved to be treated that way. No one deserved to be abused, mistreated, held captive and condemned to a life of fear.

He snarled through his fangs.

Dumped his backpack and stripped off his t-shirt.

These bastards were going to pay for what they were doing.

Chloe Peterson is having a bad night. A really bad night. The large bruise on her cheek can attest to that. Or is he?
As a successful photographer who frequently travels around the world, Chase Sullivan has his pick of beautiful women, and whenever he’s home in San Francisco, one of his seven siblings is usually up for causing a little fun trouble. Chase thinks his life is great just as it is–until the night he finds Chloe and her totaled car on the side of the road in Napa Valley. Enjoy the following excerpt from THE LOOK OF LOVE…
Chase almost missed the flickering light off on the right side of the two-lane country road. In the past thirty minutes, he hadn’t passed a single car, because on a night like this, most sane Californians—who didn’t know the first thing about driving safely in inclement weather—stayed home.
Knowing better than to slam on the brakes—he wouldn’t be able to help whomever was stranded on the side of the road if he ended up stuck in the muddy ditch right next to them—Chase slowed down enough to see that there was definitely a vehicle stuck in the ditch.
He turned his brights on to see better in the pouring rain and realized there was a person walking along the edge of the road about a hundred yards up ahead. Obviously hearing his car approach, she turned to face him and he could see her long wet hair whipping around her shoulders in his headlights.
Wondering why she wasn’t just sitting in her car, dry and warm, calling Triple A and waiting for them to come save her, he pulled over to the edge of his lane and got out to try and help her. She was shivering as she watched him approach.
“Are you hurt?”
She covered her cheek with one hand, but shook her head. “No.”
He had to move closer to hear her over the sound of the water hitting the pavement in what were rapidly becoming hailstones. Even though he’d turned his headlights off, as his eyes quickly adjusted to the darkness, he was able to get a better look at her face.
Something inside of Chase’s chest clenched tight.
Despite the long, dark hair plastered to her head and chest, regardless of the fact that looking like a drowned rat wasn’t too far off the descriptive mark, her beauty stunned him.
In an instant, his photographer’s eye cataloged her features. Her mouth was a little too big, her eyes a little too wide-set on her face. She wasn’t even close to model thin, but given the way her T-shirt and jeans stuck to her skin, he could see that she wore her lush curves well. In the dark he couldn’t judge the exact color of her hair, but it looked like silk, perfectly smooth and straight where it lay over her breasts.
It wasn’t until Chase heard her say, “My car is definitely hurt, though,” that he realized he had completely lost the thread of what he’d come out here to do.
Knowing he’d been drinking her in like he was dying of thirst, he worked to recover his balance. He could already see he’d been right about her car. It didn’t take a mechanic like his brother, Zach, who owned an auto shop—more like forty, but Chase had stopped counting years ago—to see that her shitty hatchback was borderline totaled. Even if the front bumper wasn’t half smashed to pieces by the white farm fence she’d slid into, her bald tires weren’t going to get any traction on the mud. Not tonight, anyway.
If her car had been in a less precarious situation, he probably would have sent her to hang out  in her car while he took care of getting it unstuck. But one of her back tires was hanging precariously over the edge of the ditch.
He jerked his thumb over his shoulder. “Get in my car. We can wait there for a tow truck.” He was vaguely aware of his words coming out like an order, but the hail was starting to sting, damn it. Both of them needed to get out of the rain before they froze.
But the woman didn’t move. Instead, she gave him a look that said he was a complete and utter nut-job.
“I’m not getting into your car.”
Realizing just how frightening it must be for a lone woman to end up stuck and alone in the middle of a dark road, Chase took a step back from her. He had to speak loudly enough for her to hear him over the hail.
“I’m not going to attack you. I swear I won’t do anything to hurt you.”
She all but flinched at the word attack and Chase’s radar started buzzing. He’d never been a magnet for troubled women, wasn’t the kind of guy who thrived on fixing wounded birds. But living with two sisters for so many years meant he could always tell when something was up.
And something was definitely up with this woman, beyond the fact that her car was half-stuck in a muddy ditch.
Wanting to make her feel safe, he held his hands up. “I swear on my father’s grave, I’m not going to hurt you. It’s okay to get into my car.” When she didn’t immediately say no again, he pressed his advantage with, “I just want to help you.” And he did. More than it made sense to want to help a stranger. “Please,” he said. “Let me help you.”
She stared at him for a long moment, hail hammering between them, around them, onto them. Chase found himself holding his breath, waiting for her decision. It shouldn’t matter to him what she decided.
But, for some strange reason, it did.

Exclusive Excerpt:

What a fucking horrible day.
Wes’s funeral had been about as much fun as shoveling horse shit. I’d gone home to the ranch afterward and gotten straight to work, hoping it would distract me, but after three hours, I knew nothing was going to take my mind off Felicity.
Fourteen years. I hadn’t seen her in fourteen years, and today was the day she’d come back to Prescott. For Wes. She’d stayed away from her family, from me, for fourteen years, but she’d come back for Wes?
That stung.
Then on top of it all, she’d acted like an ice queen. It made the fact that she was still the most beautiful woman I’d ever seen even harder to stomach. I just couldn’t believe the harsh and rude woman at Wes’s funeral had been my Felicity.
So here I was, standing outside her hotel room door in the freezing cold, needing to see for myself if she had really changed that much. Because if she had, then maybe I could finally let her go.
I raised my fist and banged on the door, taking out some of my frustration on its wooden face.
“Coming,” Felicity called. She must not have checked the peephole because when she opened the door, she sucked in a sharp breath.
Fuck. Why did she have to be so beautifully sad? All I wanted was to pull her into my arms. Her eyes had been covered at the funeral, hidden behind huge black sunglasses, but now I saw they were red and puffy. She’d cried for losing Wes. Had she ever cried that much over me?
Without a word, she stepped back and swung an arm out for me to come in. I stepped inside and crossed the room but didn’t sit.
“How are you?” she asked after closing the door.
“Fine. You?”
She shrugged. “I’ve had better days.”
“So since you’re in a bad place, it gives you the right to treat people like shit?” The words flew out of my mouth without thought and I regretted them the second she winced.
She took a calming breath. “I know I didn’t handle myself the right way at the funeral. I’m sorry for being rude to you and I’ll be apologizing to my family on Christmas.”
I scoffed. “Did you apologize to your mom and brother for not visiting for fourteen fucking years?”
She winced again.
Fuck. What was wrong with me? I had always tried to keep a hold on my temper where Felicity was concerned but again I was blurting out attacks.
This time, she didn’t keep that calm composure. Her spine stiffened and her lip curled. “That’s none of your business,” she snapped. “I apologize for being rude to you at the funeral, but if all you’re here to do is yell at me, get out.”
I closed the gap between us, standing right in her space and glaring down at her. Most people, men and women, would have cowered. I usually intimidated people with this glare, but not Felicity. Time hadn’t dulled her feisty spirit in the slightest. She didn’t move an inch, just glared right back.
“You’d like that,” I sneered, “wouldn’t you?”
“Like what?” she asked through gritted teeth.
“For me to leave so you can go back to pretending that avoiding this place and the people here wasn’t totally fucking selfish.” I was being a complete and total asshole. I knew it, I just couldn’t stop. All the pain I’d buried for years had bubbled up to the surface and was spewing out of my mouth.
Felicity’s eyes welled but she didn’t lose her edge. “What else? Obviously, you came here to pick a fight. To hurt me back. So, keep going. If that’s what it will take to make you feel better, then please, keep going.”
Another thing that hadn’t changed: she called me on my shit. My anger deflated and I shook my head. “It’s not making me feel better.”
“Then what will?”
Not fighting with her would make me feel better. Having her explain what had happened all those years ago would make me feel better. Hearing why she’d stayed away for so long would make me feel better.
But I didn’t tell her any of that. Instead, I crushed my mouth to hers and hugged her tight so she couldn’t push me away. Not that she tried. Her arms wrapped around my waist and she fisted my shirt in her hands.
I poured all of the pain and anger she had caused me into our kiss. She gave me all of her grief and heartache. Neither of us stopped until we were both exhausted from hot and angry sex.
While she slept on my side, I stared at the ceiling, wishing tonight had gone a whole lot differently. I wished I weren’t still drawn to her. I wished that she had come back for me, not Wes. I wished that I weren’t such a damned fool, always waiting on the sidelines, ready to pick her up when he broke her heart.
All tonight did was prove one thing.
History really does repeat itself.

Releasing Aug 14, 2017
PocketStar
Hot in Chicago series author Kate Meader returns with her all new, scorching Chicago Rebels hockey series, featuring her signature “steamy sex scenes, colorful characters, and riveting dialogue” (Romantic Times).

Three estranged sisters inherit their late father’s failing hockey franchise
and are forced to confront a man’s world, their family’s demons, and the
battle-hardened ice warriors skating into their hearts.

Harper Chase has just become the most powerful woman in the NHL after the death
of her father Clifford Chase, maverick owner of the Chicago Rebels. But the
team is a hot mess—underfunded, overweight, and close to tapping out of the
league. Hell-bent on turning the luckless franchise around, Harper won’t let
anything stand in her way. Not her gender, not her sisters, and especially not
a veteran player with an attitude problem and a smoldering gaze designed to
melt her ice-compacted defenses.

Veteran center Remy “Jinx” DuPre is on the downside of a career that’s seen him
win big sponsorships, fans’ hearts, and more than a few notches on his stick.
Only one goal has eluded him: the Stanley Cup. Sure, he’s been labeled as the
unluckiest guy in the league, but with his recent streak of good play, he knows
this is his year. So why the hell is he being shunted off to a failing hockey
franchise run by a ball-buster in heels? And is she seriously expecting him to
lead her band of misfit losers to a coveted spot in the playoffs?

He’d have a better chance of leading Harper on a merry skate to his bed…

If you’ve read enough of my reviews, I love me a sports romance but I know absolutely nothing about hockey (and football if I’m honest) but this is another sports romance I LOVED!! This story sort of put me in mind of Susan Elizabeth Phillips’ Chicago Stars series – if you haven’t read those, READ THEM!

Anyway, there’s a new female CEO/Owner of the sports team – in this case, she knows what she’s doing – but she’s having to put back together a less than stellar team. Her father’s General Manager didn’t do the team any favors and he’s allowed for a lackluster team. Anyway, she needs a great backbone of the team and she thinks she’s found that in Remy.

Remy does not want to be traded to a bad team like Chicago because that seems unlikely to his plans to win the Stanley Cup before he retires. And oh Remy, he’s stinking adorable! Definitely going to have to get this in audiobook just to hear his Cajun accent.

They’re both so super strong-willed and stubborn but they’re like gas and a match when they get together. I can’t wait for more of this series!!

Whenever I hear/read/see the word Butler, I think of Mr Belvedere. Especially if said butler essentially runs the household. And Charlie definitely does. She watches over Wells, takes care of him and Ethan and their household. She’s insanely organized and such a planner that it makes me a little jealous.

Charlie loves being around for Wells and Ethan although she tells herself not to fall for them. This is a temporary gig and when Ethan finds out her secret, he won’t want her anywhere near them. But it’s so easy to be the mother figure and wife figure to both of them.

Ethan lost his wife to cancer years ago and hired Charlie to help him with Wells. Suddenly, he sees Charlie in a different light as just his butler and caretaker for his son. He proposes an arrangement, they marry so Wells will have a suitable guardian and they can act upon this attraction they have.

You know when you’re looking at someone and you can’t help but smile at how oblivious they are to their own charm? That’s what was happening to me, and it was making me feel…happy. Euphoric. Something indescribable. It was like we already knew each other, like we had met in a previous life. Memories that didn’t exist began exploding in my mind like fireworks.

Charlotte has spent her twenties adrift, searching for a spark to jump-start her life and give her a sense of purpose. She’s had as many jobs as she’s had bad relationships, and now she’s feeling especially lost in her less-than-glamorous gig at a pie-and-fry joint in Los Angeles, where the uniforms are bad and the tips are even worse.

Then she collides—literally—with Adam, an intriguing, handsome, and mysterious painter. Their serendipitous meeting on the street turns into a whirlwind one-night stand that has Charlotte feeling enchanted by Adam’s spontaneity and joy for life. There’s promise in both his words and actions, but in the harsh light of morning, Adam’s tune changes, leaving Charlotte to wonder if her notorious bad luck with men is really just her own bad judgment.

Months later, a new relationship with Seth, a charming baseball player, is turning into something more meaningful, but Charlotte’s still having trouble moving past her one enthralling night with Adam. Why? When she searches for answers, she finds the situation with Adam is far more complicated than she ever imagined. “You’re making love sound tragic,” I said.

“No”—he shook his head—“I wouldn’t want it any other way. Tell me about us. What do we like to do?”

“Paint and sail and eat and drink. Just simple things.” “Don’t forget about sex,” he said.
“Yeah, lots of sex. Before the children were born we

“We were practically naked every second of the day.”

“I like that.”

“When they got older, we’d sneak away for weekends and leave them at my mom’s.”

“What are they like? Our children.”

“Happy. That’s all we wished for. We put our love first and it just spilled over into them and now they’re happy.”

Tears sprang from my eyes and ran down my cheeks. Isn’t that what we all hope for when it comes to our children?

His tone suddenly changed. “That’s beautiful, Char- lotte.” It was like he was waking up from the dream. I didn’t want to go back to reality yet, but I knew these fantasies were just to help Adam get his mind off things.

“I can imagine a long life with you,” he said. “I can imagine what a great wife you’d be.”

I pulled my hand out of his. “The story is about you and me.” He didn’t say anything; he just nodded and then continued to stare out the window. I bent and kissed the top of his head again, and whispered, “It’s about us. Don’t take that away from me.”

Excerpt
Grayson
The erotic book in my hand is barely distracting me from the stunning woman lying in my bed. Her dark, wavy hair is cascading over the pillow and the sheet
barely covers her. From my chair, I have a perfect view of the curve of her
back, narrow waist, and luscious ass. She groans as she moves and my cock
hardens from the sound. She’s learned I have certain tastes in the bedroom. I’d
never belittle or hurt a woman, but I do like some kink. No doubt she’s a
little sore from the vibrator I used. If the sounds of her moans and the two
orgasms meant anything, I’d say she liked it very much. My lips curve from the
memory of her face when I brought it out and then again when she reached her
first climax.
Reaching down, I adjust my semi into a more comfortable position.
Little does Emma know how often she gives me a hard on. It’s like I’m a fucking
teenager again with an uncontrollable snake in my pants that becomes alert and
ready anytime it gets a whiff of her pussy.
What’s even more confusing is what I’m feeling for her. I’ve
never been patient with sex. I’ve seduced, got what I wanted, and moved on.
It’s been this way for years. No woman has ever mattered enough that I wanted
to be patient, careful, and even considerate of her emotions. But Emma’s inside
my head, an itch I can’t satisfy until I have her, all of her. With her, I want
to take the seduction slowly. I’m enjoying it. She appreciates everything I do,
and I find myself upping the ante just to win her affections.
Fear isn’t something a man likes to admit to others, let
alone to himself, but I feel it. It’s there. I’m afraid I’ll hurt her. I want
her to trust me because if she gives me her trust, I’ll have her. But, then
what? She’ll be another conquest and I’ll what, get bored like I always do,
lose interest? Or will it be me that burns? If I let her in, I’ll have to
change. I’ll have to give her the trust I know she’ll want from me. Am I even
capable of giving it, of loving someone?
She stirs in her sleep and I watch her. Emma has no idea
she’s the first woman to have stayed the night with me. It’s probably why I’m
up at two a.m. reading because I can’t sleep. Not with her lying next to me,
smelling like sex and jasmine, and breathing so peacefully it pains me to look
at her.
“Grayson,” her voice is a sleepy whisper.
I continue watching her move. The sheet falls from her
breasts as she sits up and turns to face me. The question in her eyes kills me.
She’s concerned why I’m not in bed with her. Stepping from the bed, she
approaches. Her dark, little patch above her pink lips annihilates my remaining
control over my cock.
“Can’t sleep?” she asks, her voice so sweet it breaks me.
I extend my arm and she slides onto my lap and lies against
my chest, like we’ve been doing this for years. The scent of jasmine fills my
nostrils and I lean against her hair, breathing her in. The touch of my hand
caressing her back releases a pleasured moan from her lips. Lips that can
easily bring me to my knees, if I’m not careful.
“Sorry to wake you. I read when I can’t sleep.”
Laying her head on my shoulder, she looks at my book. “What
are you reading?”
Undo This Night.”
“Will you read it to me?”
The corner of my mouth raises. “You want me to read it out
loud to you?”
She giggles and the sound widens my smile.
“Yes.”
This is unexpected, but I like it. She continues to surprise
me. I can never predict what Emma will do, and it’s something I adore about
her. She keeps me on top of my game.
“From the beginning or where I’m at?”
“Where you’re at.”
My attention returns to the book. “I raise Tiffany’s ass
in the air and slap it once, twice then spread her cheeks. Reaching for the
condom I tossed on the bed, I sheath it over my cock, then rub against her
pink, tiny hole. Looking over her shoulder at me tells me she wants me to fuck
her hard. It’s been two weeks since I’ve seen her and by the needy look in her
eyes, she knows I won’t be gentle.
Emma’s hand reaches into my sweatpants and circles my raging
hard on. Each stroke makes it harder to focus on the words.
I slam into her tight pussy and latch onto her hips,
using them as leverage to fuck the moans right out of her mouth.”
Emma pushes the book out of her way and straddles me with
her knees tucked into the cushion of my chair. Her mouth slams down on mine and
I toss the book to who-fucking-cares where. Lifting her from the chair, I wrap
her legs around me and pull her ass up against my aching erection and move her
over it.
“Grayson, I want you. I want to feel you inside of me.”
“No other men, Emma. If you’re with me, you’re with only me.”
“I don’t want anyone else.”
Laying her on the bed, she watches as I remove my
sweatpants. My cock is at attention and her eyes go right to it. She moistens
her bottom lip and it jumps at the sight of it. The last time that tongue
touched my dick, she stole a chunk of my heart. Wicked little thing she is.
“Let me get a condom.” I move toward the dresser and she
extends her legs, trapping me between them.
“Don’t need one. I’m on the pill.”
My chest tightens. Sex without a condom is something I don’t do.
Fuck me, she’s got me between a rock and a soft, little pussy I’m dying to
feel. I turn to her and crawl above her on the bed. “Just this once. I want to
feel you come all over my cock.”
Her gray eyes are locked on mine and her mouth tilts into a
lascivious grin. I close the space between us and kiss her. Spreading her legs,
my dick slides across her slick pussy. She’s already soaking wet for me. I
raise my hips and plunge into her.
Cock-melting heat surrounds me, she’s so tight I barely have
to move to get the friction I need. Pushing in further, she lets out a whimper.
“Am I hurting you?”
“No, you feel incredible.”
“Emma, I want to give you slow and sensual, but I don’t
think I can. I want to fuck you until you’re calling out my name.”
“Please, fuck me,” she begs.
Her needy plea puts me into action. One hand takes hold of
her neck and the other tucks under her leg, raising it as I thrust into her
hard. Every time I pull out and slam into her, I feel the blood racing to my
groin. The familiar tingle is at my back; she’s spewing cuss words and calling
out my name. Another thrust and her orgasm pours over me and it feels perfect.
My jaw clenches and I release into her. It’s a high I’ve
never had and the moment it happens, I know I’m ruined. There’s no way I can go
back to a condom with her.
Lying on the bed, she’s sprawled out across my body in a
deep sleep with her head tucked into my neck. My fingers are combing through
her hair and I’m watching the ceiling, replaying different scenarios in my
head. Every single one ends with the same fear—one of us getting hurt.

Emma is just getting over her ex – or trying to. She goes to a bar with her friend and meets a tall, dark, and handsome stranger and is ready to go home with him. But things aren’t meant to be.

Fast forward a month and Emma’s getting a new boss. Guess who, but tall, dark and handsome aka Grayson Cole walks in as her new boss. Oy. She can’t stop herself from wanting him but she won’t get involved with her boss.

Grayson wondered what happened to Emma after they met and here she is, his new employee. He can’t keep his eyes (among other things) off her but it has to be something without strings.

This was a good story. I loved the premise! Woman throws away her cares and lets loose only to get the guy she almost went home with as a boss. Oops!
