A hot one night stand between friends might spark true love in the latest Billionaires and Bridesmaids novel from the New York Times bestselling author of Billionaire Takes a Bride.

Greer has always been there for Asher, but she wishes she could break through her shyness and show how much she truly loves him. But after a steamy, mindless fling at Hunter and Gretchen’s engagement party, Greer finds herself tossed aside and forced to admit that you can’t love someone who doesn’t acknowledge you exist.

It’s a shame he got her pregnant.

After his fiancée betrayed him and tanked his business in one fell swoop, Asher has spent his time trying to rebuild his wealth and forget the past. But he doesn’t understand why Greer blew him off after their night together—until he catches a glimpse of her belly.

Now Asher is willing to do whatever it takes to convince Greer she belongs with him. And he’s very skilled at the art of persuasion.

Excerpt

When the group started to disperse into partying again, he got out of his chair and moved toward Greer’s table, stalking her. He saw her heading off with one of the waitstaff and jogged to catch up. “Greer!”

She turned and her face paled at the sight of him. Her mouth firmed into an angry line of distaste, and then she picked up her skirts and continued to walk away.

Yeah, he was definitely on the shit list.

That didn’t deter him, though. Asher headed after her, following her into the house and catching up despite her efforts to hurry. “Hey, wait up. I think we need to talk.”

“I have nothing to say to you, Asher.” She didn’t turn to look at him.

He reached out and clasped her arm, noting how warm her skin was, and how soft. And damn it all if he didn’t start to get another inappropriate boner. His body really needed to learn to calm the fuck down. “Just give me five minutes of your time, all right? Then I’ll leave you alone.”

She exchanged a look with the waitress, and then nodded at her. “I’ll be inside in a minute. Go ahead.” When the woman left, Greer sighed and turned back to him, smoothing a stray lock of hair back behind her ear. “What is it, Asher? I’m very busy tonight with the party.”

“I can imagine. This is a terrific party. I should have known you were behind it.” He knew she’d done weddings for some top-notch clients in New York and always took her job extremely seriously. Of course she’d put on a spectacular party for her father. “Listen. I feel like the last time we saw each other, we . . . well, we fucked up.”

Her eyebrows went up.

Shit. That was apparently the wrong thing to say. “I mean, it was a fuckup, but not that fucking you was a mistake.” God, where was his suaveness when he needed it? Why was he all diarrhea of the mouth when it came to Greer? He could sweet talk anyone, but the moment he came close to her, he babbled like a schoolboy. “Not that I think we should have fucked, of course. We’re friends, and friends don’t sleep with each other. Not if they want to stay friends. And you’ve been avoiding me. We haven’t had our Mondays in the last few months.”

“No, we haven’t.”

“It doesn’t have to be Mondays, you know. It can be any other day. Or it doesn’t have to be lunch. It can be anytime you need it to be if your schedule is all screwed.” He frowned to himself. “I should probably stop saying the word screwed, shouldn’t I?”

Her arms crossed over her chest, pressing her dress tighter against her body. “Is this conversation going somewhere, Asher? Like I said, I’m very busy tonight.”

Greer’s tits looked magnificent in that dress, he realized. They’d been small, perfect handfuls the night they’d slept together and now they seemed . . . doubly abundant. “Did you get a boob job?”

Her eyes narrowed imperceptibly. “I need to go.”

Fuck, why did he say that? “Sorry. It’s none of my business. Listen.” He reached out and grabbed her elbow when she turned to leave, stopping her. “The reason why I wanted to talk to you tonight is because I was behaving like an ass that night. I was drunk and I wasn’t myself. I was just lost in misery and in booze, and if I’d been thinking straight, I would have never dragged you off to the gardens and slept with you.” And damn if that didn’t sound all wrong, too. “Not because you’re not attractive, Greer. You are.”

“You’re not winning me over, Asher.” Her voice sounded hard. “Did you truly come to this party just to tell me that you find me repulsive and you wouldn’t have slept with me if you were sober?”

“What? No, that’s not what I meant at all. You’re hot. I mean, hell, you look smoking hot in that dress tonight.” She was all lush curves, which was surprising given that his memories of her were of her daintiness. But her body had changed in the last couple of months. And something about that was bothering him. “I just . . . don’t think we should have done that. As friends.”

“On that, I agree completely. May I go now?”

Why wasn’t she thawing toward him? He remembered Greer as all soft, shy smiles for him. They’d been friends, good friends. The cool, remote stranger in front of him . . . well, it reminded him of Stijn and the politely disinterested-because-you-are-dirt-to-me expression he wore at all times. “I just . . . you’re a good friend and I don’t want to lose you.”

“We can’t change what happened, Asher.” She hadn’t thawed an inch. One of the waitstaff moved nearby with an enormous cake, and she delicately sidestepped on the path to allow them more room. As she did, the long hem of her skirt got caught in a nearby bush and pulled taut against her body, outlining a slightly rounded stomach.

Asher’s eyes widened as realization struck him. “Greer . . . are you pregnant?”

She bit her lip and averted her gaze.

Oh fuck. She was pregnant.
“Is it . . . Is it mine?”

She looked back up again. Her eyes narrowed. She crooked her finger at him, indicating he should lean down. He did—

—And she delivered a ringing slap to his face.

TBRreview

The Billionaire’s Favorite Mistake will have you repeatedly muttering “Asher Asher Asher” to yourself as you shake your head.  And wanting to smack Greer for lacking some backbone. But this was just like the other Billionaire’s books: fantastic!

Greer has been in love with Asher for what seems like forever. And she finally sees her chance at getting Asher to really “see” her.  What she doesn’t count on is Asher’s condition when she finally makes her play.

Greer finally realizes that Asher never saw her that way and stops talking with him.  Except he’s left her a little gift that will make an appearance in about 9 months….

Asher sees that Greer is pregnant and if he wasn’t missing her before, he definitely is now that she’s pregnant as well.  Asher will stop at nothing to get Greer (and their baby) back with him.

5 stars!

Review ~ Blowback ~ by ~ Stephanie Summers

Blowback was a great read!  I liked that Jet and Evie had a history from high school before they meet again years later.

Evie was in love with Jet until he went away without explanation and then got engaged.  So when he comes to her rescue alongside the road one day, she makes it clear she doesn’t appreciate him back in her life.

Jet is a bad mother trucker whose dad is in charge of the local criminal element. And Jet is one of his enforcers. Niall tells him who and when and Jet makes it happen – however that means.  Jet comes across Evie – his one true love – and he decides he has to get out from under Niall’s thumb and take his sister with him.

There are so many twists and turns with this book that you never see coming.  It kept me guessing!

synopsis

GO BIG OR GO HOME. That’s how I live and how I play. With baseball, with women… I’m always the biggest player on the field.

I grew up poor. Dirt poor. The oldest of six kids, I learned early that a fist or a smile could get me out of almost any sticky situation. My swing is what got me out of the sticks for good.

Now I’m in the spotlight, playing in the big leagues, and the club’s owner wants me to be the club’s spokesperson. I just need to deal with the bossy woman who runs the show.

His daughter.

Camille Rivers is the heir to the richest man in America. She’s the most stubborn woman I’ve met in my life. With all her wealth and manners, you would think she’d be a little nicer to her daddy’s star player.

Spoiled and prissy, daddy’s little princess is everything I should stay away from. The problem is, I just can’t keep my hands off her.

I think she’s playing hard to get because she likes me. She thinks it’s because I’m a horse’s rear end. Either way, she doesn’t complain too much when I’m kissing her.

She’s used to getting what she wants. Then again, so am I. And I want her.

excerpt

I bounced on the balls of my feet, waiting for the next lob. I had the tennis machine set on random so I wouldn’t always know when to expect the next ball. Otherwise it was too easy.

I didn’t like easy. I liked to be challenged. And I liked to win.

I swung hard, hitting the ball to just inside the baseline of our private court. I grinned, waiting for the next ball. Then I did it again, with expert precision. I still took lessons from the club’s tennis pro now and then, but now it was just to keep my edge.

Besides, he said I could give him lessons at this point.

“Need some help with that?”

I turned sharply at the sound of his voice. Cade Dupree. The damn man had been haunting my dreams all week and now he was here. I glared at him, ready to tell him to go to hell.

“Look out!”

I jumped out of the way just as the ball came careening towards me. I watched as Cade walked to the other side of the court and turned the machine off, rubbing my neck with a clean towel. He came back over and leaned against the fence, looking supremely relaxed.

“Mr. Dupree.”

“Ms. Rivers.”

He was staring at me with unconcealed lust.

“Damn girl you look good in that short skirt.”

“It’s a tennis dress.”

He grinned at me stupidly.

“I like it.”

Something about the way he was looking at me annoyed me, but didn’t offend me the way that it normally would have. He wasn’t looking at me like a piece of meat exactly. It was more like I was a ten course meal and he was a starving man.

I did want to smack him though.

“May I help you with something? Or do you always sneak around, interrupting hapless women who are trying to play tennis?”

He gave me a hurt look. I snorted. I didn’t buy it for a second.

“Your father invited me to dinner. ”

I smiled sweetly.

“He has a thing for strays.”

I wiped down my racket and slid it into its case.

“But I don’t.”

“I’m real sorry to hear that ma’am.”

I rolled my eyes, scooping up my bag.

“Since you are obviously lost, I will show you the way.”

“I’m not lost.”

He wiggled his eyebrows at me. He was so ridiculous I almost laughed, but I didn’t want to encourage him.

“Darlin’ I have been found.”

Now that did make me laugh. I couldn’t help it. I smothered it quickly, forcing myself to give him a dirty look. He just chuckled and followed me to the house.

Just when I thought he couldn’t get any more annoying he managed to do just that.

Cade Dupree was whistling.

Who doesn’t love a good second chance romance?  That’s exactly what Love Entwined is.
Ireland (I LOVE her name!) and Bentley (I LOVE his name too!) are former childhood friends who run into each other because their mutual friends are getting married.
I loved reading their relationship as they were younger and how it seems to have picked up to the present even though there’s 20 years in between.
The heartbreak they each go through is just so sad but then other events make it such an amazing story!  This will definitely be a book I re-read!

EXCERPT

“Tired?” Simon asks with a knowing smile.

“A bit,” I reply with a nod. “And the view is incredible.”

“No kidding,” Shelly says with an annoying giggle, and I realize she thinks I’m talking about Simon.

For fuck sake.

“Actually, I was talking about the mountains,” I add, stifling a laugh when Heidi knocks her knee against mine. “The views here are unreal. When I saw that the conference was to be held in Montana, I just figured we’d be in the boonies, on a dude ranch or something with no wifi and hunting and gathering our food ourselves. I had no idea that this existed.”

“It’s one of my favorite places in the world,” Simon replies with one of his insane smiles. Seriously, he smiles and the room lights up. He’s changed into a casual blue T-shirt that hugs his shoulders and reveals the sleeve of tattoos down his left arm. In all of his public appearances, he wears long sleeves, covering the ink. It’s sexy as hell, not to mention the lean muscle there. His dark hair is disheveled from pushing his fingers through it all day, and his eyes look a bit tired, too. “Where are you from, Charly? Is that the South I hear in your voice?”

I grin. “Louisiana,” I confirm. “I’m from New Orleans.”

“Another of my favorite places,” he replies with a wink.

“Oh, I love it there too,” Shelly says. “What do you do there?”

“I own a shoe store.” I grin at the waitress as she fills my water glass.

“Well, that wouldn’t suck,” Heidi says and glances down at my feet. “I admired your shoes all day.”

“Thank you.”

“How long have you done that?” Simon asks, listening intently.

“Six years,” I reply. “But I’ve lived there all my life.”

He nods, and I can see in his eyes that he has more questions, but he shifts the focus to someone else, to my relief.

“And where are you from, Heidi?”

“Arizona,” she replies and begins telling us about her business raising assistance dogs. She pulls her phone out to show us photos, and I melt.

“Aww, what a sweet baby,” I croon when she shows me the yellow lab puppy she’s working with now. “Puppies are the best.”

“I think so too,” Heidi agrees. Dinner is surprisingly fun. We spend the next hour chatting about our homes, what we do, and things that interest us. Simon is funny and charming, easily deflecting Shelly’s blatant flirtations.

He’s professional. I assume he comes down and has dinner with a different group of women from the retreat each night. It’s a nice touch.

I wonder how many he sleeps with.

EXCERPT

I take in every inch of him, noticing first his muscular arms and wide shoulders. I see part of a tattoo peeking out from the arm of his t-shirt. The tiny hint makes me want to see it all. I’ve always been partial to inked bodies, loving how a story can be told in ink rather than words.
His dark, brown beard is ridiculously neat, trimmed to perfection. It surrounds pouty, kissable lips. I can’t help but wonder if he has chest hair. I’ve always been attracted to very masculine men. I realize how much of a freak I am, staring at this stranger, itching to see the rest of his tattoos and wondering what he’d look like naked, how my fingers would feel caressing his skin.
Soothing brown eyes look back at me, almost pleading with me to change my views of the world. His hair is longer on top than on the sides, tousled and messy as if he’s been running his hands through it for hours. Sexy, this man is incredibly sexy. He has an edge of danger to him, but at the same time, he seems completely approachable. He’s a wash of contradictions.
“I’m sorry about your fiancé,” he says reaching his hand out to take mine.
I pull away immediately, unable to hide the quiver in my lip at the mention of Alec.
“Don’t,” I say unsure of what the word is in reference to. Don’t touch me. Don’t mention the death of my best friend. Don’t walk out of here and leave me alone.
A few minutes of peace are all I’ve gotten since Alec’s death. A handful of times over the last couple of weeks my mind would shut down, and I forget, briefly, just how much I’ve lost. I got that reprieve looking at Kid until he ruined it by opening his mouth.
Why do people always feel the need to speak? Why verbalize the pain others are feeling? Sometimes just sitting, being available if needed is the best thing you can do.
“He’s my best friend,” I say on a choked sob. I have no idea why I’m telling him this. I don’t know why I feel the need to ease the hurt I saw in his eyes when I pulled my hand away from his touch. “Was. I lost my best friend.”
“Yeah,” he says, his voice full of sorrow. “I know what that feels like.”
I pull my eyes from looking at my own hands and look back at him. For the first time, I notice dog tags hanging around his neck. Small pieces of metal, unassuming for the most part, but I know they tell a story. Every soldier who wears them has one. It seems in a time of war, those stories get harder to tell.
Kid is young. I know he’s older than me. Even with an unmarred face and bright young eyes, he’s got an air about him that lets you know he’s seen more than most. He’s suffered more than most.
I immediately feel some sort of kindred-ship with him. I begin to shut the little part of myself down that he somehow forced me to open. He’s so young; there’s a good chance he’s still a soldier, and there’s no guarantee that any of them are safe. It’s best to just keep every one of them at a distance.
“You’re in the Army?” I finally manage to ask, angling my head at the tags around his neck.
I watch as he reaches his hand up and touches them as if he’s worn them so long he’s forgotten that they’re even there.
“I was in the Marines,” he answers quickly. “I’ve been out for a couple years now.”
“How old are you?” Was a soldier? No longer in the service? He doesn’t look old enough.
“Twenty-four.”
Six years older than me. I shake my head, knowing he sees nothing but a child sitting here in this bed. Not that I expect anything different, but I’m tired of being viewed as a child.

TBRreview
Kid  kept me guessing!  The book not the character.  Although he did too.
Khloe is having a rough go at life and is prepared and acts to do something permanent about it when Kid steps in to stop her.  Kid is undeniably attracted to Khloe but also wants to help her because she’s in a bad mental space and has had a rough life.
I LOVE these Cerberus MC boys!  They’re hysterical, alpha and protective – my favorite combination.  Plus they ride motorcycles…..  Sorry got distracted.  This isn’t just a simple love story, Khloe has her issues, Kid has his issues and eventually they’re able to make sense of it all.  Or are they??  Read and find out!
5 stars!

I’m not a good man.

I’m not a bad man.

But I’ve made some bad mistakes, made the wrong choices.

Who hasn’t? But the consequences are tearing us apart.

I love two people.

I love them differently.

The world tells me I have to choose. Why? Why do I have to choose?

Loving hurts. Dancing heals.

Love makes you soar, makes you fly and sets you free—and then it lets you freefall until you’re smashed and bleeding on the ground. Ultimately, love is the worst thing that can happen to a human being.

Im my opinion.

I love two people.

I love them differently.

One is a man.

One is a woman.

And they are brother and sister.

**** A stand alone novel in the best-selling Rhythm Series. ****

AP new - excerpt.jpg

“Two minutes to curtain,” called out the stage manager.

We all hustled to take our places for the first number, and Ash walked with Laney as she wheeled herself to a spot where she could watch from the wings.

I felt a shiver of anticipation skitter across my skin, and I stretched my arms over my head before shaking them out, keeping flexible, keeping moving.

“God, I’ll never get enough of this,” whispered Sarah. “I hate it and I love it.”

I knew exactly what she meant. The nerves never really stopped, but the second I stepped on stage, adrenaline and muscle memory took over. My body would respond before my brain felt the fear of dancing in front of a thousand strangers.

I could hear the audience, hear their breaths, feel their excitement, feel the heat rolling forward from the press of bodies.

And then the house lights sank and the theater dropped into darkness, the electricity of expectancy lighting a fuse.

Al, the conductor, tapped his baton, and there was a collective breath as the band prepared to play, fingers hovering above keys and strings, the drummer poised, tension in his arms.

Then the music blasted out in an explosion of sound and light, and I was on stage, alive, powerful, doing what I was born to do.

I became the role, I lived the dance, blood pounding through my veins, my muscles coiled and released as I lunged and leapt, my arms sweeping through the space around me, filling it with spirals of strength and emotion.

Nothing could beat this feeling, this intensity, this desire to drink from the well of life.

And it was magnificent.

For a split second, I caught Ash’s eye, and we shared something that only another dancer can understand—a connection, an emotion so fleeting, I could have dreamed it.

I feel it too, brother.

Two hours later, we stood bathed in sweat under the bright stage lights, smiles on our faces and tears in our eyes, soaking up applause as the crowd rose to their feet, cheers and whistles soaring above the roar. My chest heaved from the exertion, but also from the deep emotion that dancing always brought to me, and I knew that everyone on this stage felt the exact same way.

Sarah stood next to me, tears running down her face, happy tears; tears of achievement and joy; tears of satisfaction and sorrow that it was all over. The end of a performance was a birth—the memories of the audience would live on—and a death, too, as another show ended. So tonight, we were celebrating and grieving.

“I’m going to miss this so fucking much,” she sobbed, staring up at me, then out at the cheering crowd. “God, I’m going to miss you, Luka, you bloody great hunk of sexy Slovenian.”

“I’ll miss you too, buča,” I said sincerely, leaning down to kiss her cheek, tasting the salt of her tears.

All the dancers linked hands, raising our arms in the air as we took our final bow. Ash stepped forward, looking down at the band and applauding them, too. Then he clasped his hands together and pressed them to his heart, before waving to the audience and leaving the stage.

Yveta, Gary and Oliver stepped forward with me and Sarah to take our bows as co-leads, then we too left the stage.

And it was all over.

The applause drained away as the curtain fell for the last time and the house lights came up.

Then it was the slow descent to normalcy as we peeled away the roles we’d played, along with our costumes, wigs and makeup.
