I came from nothing, but I’ve fought my way to the top. It’s what I do—all I know. With a bank account full of money, four boxing title belts on my wall, and a clear path to another, I have everything I need. But what good is money and success when the one thing I want more than anything, the reason I’ve been fighting all along, money can’t buy?

This was actually the first book of Shantel Tessier’s that I’ve read and I was NOT disappointed. This series was amazing! I loved Ashlyn and Ryder’s start. Ashlyn is not interested in relationships and neither is Ryder. So when they meet at a bar, they figure one night will be perfect for them. Until Ashlyn finds out that Ryder is her bestie’s brother.
Ryder hasn’t been into relationships but he can’t stop himself from wanting one with Ashlyn and having to convince her into it. I love stories where the male wants the female and has to persuade her on giving them a shot.
Now there is a cliffhanger but Myself is out and you get to hear more…
5 stars!

A great continuation of the series but featuring Becca and Jaycent. Yes, Ashlyn and Ryder make appearances but you get to hear about Becca and Jaycent’s story from them directly. Which I so wanted to hear after the a$$hole that Conner was. And I love this title because it fits Becca directly. She is doing things for herself now and not someone else and planning to make herself happy, however that happens.
Jaycent has always been Becca’s protector and now we know why. Yes, she’s his bestie’s little sister but there’s more and almost always has been. I loved that there was more to Jaycent than being just happy go lucky guy and that he was so deep and feeling.
This ends in a cliffhanger too but it will be more about Ryder and Ashlyn again – because we need their story wrapped up STAT!!!

Born in a small southeastern island in Alaska, Alexandria moved to southern Oregon early on in her life. Where she still resides with her young daughter, husband, and fur baby.

Down in Whynot, NC, there are three things that hold true: 1) life moves just a little bit slower, 2) family means everything, and 3) you don’t mess with history.

Juliette Poe is the sweet and swoony alter ego of New York Times Best Selling author, Sawyer Bennett.
A fun-loving southern girl, Juliette knows the allure of sweet tea, small towns, and long summer nights, that some of the best dates end sitting on the front porch swing, and that family is top priority. She brings love in the south to life in her debut series, Sex & Sweet Tea.
When Juliette isn’t delivering the sweetest kind of romance, she’s teaching her southern belle daughter the fine art of fishing, the importance of wearing Chucks, and the endless possibilities of a vivid imagination.
“You’re going to laugh.”
“Probably.”
“It’s because I can’t hear things.”
“What kinds of things are you trying to hear?”
“I don’t know. Strange noises and things…”
“Strange noises?”
“Do I need to spell it out for you?” She’s trying to sound annoyed, but I can hear the smile in her voice.
“Apparently, because I have no idea what you’re talking about. What kinds of strange noises are you going to hear? I usually turn my TV up to block out all the strange sounds like the neighbor’s kids and the lady behind me that sounds like Fran fucking Drescher.”
“You know who Fran Drescher is?”
“My mother was a big fan of that stupid show she was in. Stop changing the subject. What are you listening for? Hayden won’t sneak out.”
“What if someone breaks in?”
“You’re not serious.”
“Of course I’m serious!”
“What do you do all night?” I ask.
“Work,” she admits. “Well, usually I clean, and then I work.”
“I’m coming over.”
“You can’t.”
The panic in her voice doesn’t make her sound upset about the idea, but afraid.
Is it because she likes me?
“Why not?” I ask.
“It’s like nine o’clock.”
“Are you about to turn orange and sprout a stem?”
“That and I’m not wearing a bra, if you must know.”
“So put it back on.”
“You don’t understand. That’s like saying put your jeans back on.”
“I am in jeans,” I lie just to get a reaction out of her.
“What is wrong with you?” she cries.
“What’s wrong with jeans?”
“They’re stiff and uncomfortable. Wearing jeans all day is basically equivalent to walking on sandpaper. But at least you guys have pockets that will actually hold something larger than a thimble and don’t ride up your ass.”

Now on to the story. Ella is a single mom who would be happy not dating and just spending time with her son but her mom and best friend set her up on dates and join and manage dating profiles for her. After falling for Patrick, Ella is rightfully skeptical of men and finds flaws (or strikes as she calls them) about every man she is set up with.
Enter Coen, her BFF’s neighbor. He’s a hot, sweet firefighter who helps her son in an emergency. So of course Ella feels gratitude towards him. And that’s all she can feel because she sees the crush her BFF has on Coen so she’s going to keep it nothing but friendly.
This was a very sweet story with some surprising turns that I was expecting but not how I was expecting them. You will truly enjoy Ella and Coen’s relationship from friends to lovers with some hilarity mixed in.
