Book Tour ~ Heroan ~ by ~ Casey Bering

Title: Heroan
Series: The Hale Gunslingers Book 1
Author: Casey Bering
Genre: Romantic Suspense, Dystopian, Western
Release Date: June 1, 2020
Trust is a tricky thing when you’re a woman who hunts killers for a living.

When 23-year-old gunslinger Cameron Hale sets out to track down her mother’s killer, she’s determined to stop him on her own. After months of dead end leads and nothing to show for her efforts, she’s torn between staying on the monster’s trail and following her instincts in a different direction.

Cameron has spent her entire life keeping her gunslinger lineage a secret, and she has everything under control, right up until she runs into Luke, a former soldier with a magnetic personality. Something about the man calls to Cameron, but her distrustful nature keeps her from letting her guard down, especially when she discovers Luke has his own score to settle with her target.

When the killer she’s hunting turns his sights on her sisters, the race is on to get to him before he destroys everything she holds dear. Teaming up with Luke might be Cameron’s best chance of saving her family, but only if trusting him doesn’t get her killed first.
Set in an alternate history dystopian western world.

Cameron’s head throbbed as she tried to get a sense of her surroundings. It was pitch black, thanks to the strip of cloth covering her eyes. Despite the rising noise from a small crowd, searing its way into the base of her pounding skull like a hot poker, she didn’t move a muscle.
“What should we do with her?” an old man asked. His voice was a strange mix of brittle and croak.
“Find out how much she knows.” The smooth male response was equal parts condescending and amused. “You can play with her, a little, but don’t kill her.”
Cameron’s whole body broke out in gooseflesh at the sound. Declan, she thought. She’d heard his voice only once, when she was a child. It was little more than a distant rumble at the time, scattered across the open yard by a freezing, swirling breeze, but she was sure it was him.
The old man mumbled something under his breath.
“Merle, if she dies in your care, I’ll come back here and pull you apart piece by tiny little piece. Until there’s nothing left of you but bloody stumps and wails of agony. Got it?”
“Yes. Yes, sir. I’m sorry,” Merle quailed.
“Good. I have plans for this little lady,” Declan taunted as cold fingertips brushed across Cameron’s cheeks.

Casey lives in Western Colorado with her husband and their pack of rowdy rescue dogs. She enjoys reading a little bit of everything, but she has a fondness for immersive and emotionally engaging science fiction, dystopian, post-apoc, speculative fiction, and romance.

When she’s not writing or working at her day job in a machine shop, you can usually find her out walking with one of her dogs, hiking with her other half, or doing just about anything that gives her a reason to ignore her phone.

Book Tour ~ Heist ~ by ~ Beckett Riley

Title: Heist

Author: Beckett Riley
Genre: Erotic Romance, Menage
(Short Story – Under 15K words)
Release Date: July 3, 2020
Cover Design: Shashika2

Struggling bookshop owner, Josie lives a mundane life in a small town where the most eligible bachelor is a below-average Joe and the most happening place in town is a crummy bar called the Speckled Hen. She spends her days with the only things that bring her joy: books and prison shows on TV. On what would be a boring night like any other, she witnesses an ongoing bank robbery that will forever change her life.
Ten banks. Five years.

Brothers Ronan and Dagen are former marines turned bank robbers meticulously planning their early retirement. This last heist was supposed to be the easiest one yet, but when Josie shows up, their plans go into a tailspin and they have no other choice than to kidnap the gorgeous bookshop owner.
What’s a girl to do with two hot, convicted felons on the run?
As the hours go by, the trio begins to get friendly and let their guards down. The mutual desire growing between them is clear as day, throwing a wrench into the former felons’ plans. One thing is certain; neither three will ever be the same after this one night.

Ten small-town banks scattered through Middle America over the course of five years. Easy as fuck. This was our last job. Bank reserves are the minimal amounts of cash a bank must keep in hand in order to meet unexpected withdrawal demands. Why small-town banks? Early closing times and class M vaults. Class M’s are the easiest to break into. The standard time it takes most men to pull this off is fifteen minutes, which means I can do it in ten. This comes at a price though, these kinds of banks don’t keep large quantities of cash. Some big branches hold millions in their vaults, but smaller ones like this might hold around $200,000. This was definitely more work, but the chances of walking away scot-free were higher than targeting a large branch.

The last one was a joke. I grabbed the duffel bag with the explosive and a pair of bolt cutters for the pathetic-as-fuck folding scissor gate on the front door. My younger brother, Dagen, was the wheelman, so he always stayed in the car. I put on my ski mask, swung the duffel over my shoulder, and grabbed my assault rifle. Yeah, the rifle was overkill for a place like this, but I’d rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

One snap of the lock and I was in. The silent alarm would go off the moment I opened that front door, so we had exactly ten minutes to get in and get out. Just so happens the land-whale of a sheriff and his cumstain deputy were just called out to a nonexistent car accident right outside city limits. It would take them ten minutes to drive out there, another five to realize there was no accident, and thirteen more to reach the bank when it was called in. That gave us an eighteen- minute head start.

In eighteen minutes, we would be long fucking gone.

I set up the homemade bomb on the vault. Six minutes later — boom! I was in and got to work filling the duffel bag. Nine minutes, done. Fuck yeah. I grabbed the rifle and headed out. I threw the bag onto the backseat and was about to climb into the passenger seat when I saw the girl staring directly at me and Dagen, who wasn’t wearing a mask. Fuck. My. Life. I guess she was closing that gay-ass looking book store and walked out at the same time I did. I’ll give her credit, she pretended not to see us and tried to lollygag away, but there was no way we could let her go.
Beckett loves writing short, erotic stories as much as she loves reading them. Happily ever afters and hot, possessive, guys bring tears of joy to her eyes so expect to see alpha males roaming her raunchy pages.

New Release ~ Finding Peace ~ by ~ Adelyn Zara

Title: Finding Peace

Series: Tales of Resilience #1
Author: Adelyn Zara
Genre: Romance
Release Date: July 9, 2020
Cover Design: Giselle Field of Wander Design

Struggling after the death of her husband and hindered by her inability to recover from cancer treatment, Lynn isn’t expecting to find anything other than entertainment at an awards show. When she meets music exec Donovan Rue, there’s instant chemistry – and instant chaos.

Donovan faces lawsuits and complaints from disgruntled employees. Lynn’s fragile self-esteem and her recent personal tragedy make her leery of Donovan’s interest. As things heat up between them, their chemistry threatens to implode.

As outside tensions and pressures mount, Lynn breaks away, but Donovan refuses to give up on the strong, resilient woman he sees beneath the damage. Can these two people find peace

An exhausted puppy was asleep in his crate near Lynn’s bedroom fireplace. Lynn and Donovan snuggled together, leaving the young people downstairs.“I hate when Christmas day ends,” Lynn declared as she stared into the fire. “It was such a nice Christmas. I’m glad that you and Dara could share it with us.”

“Thank you for having us,” Donovan answered. He smiled softly and asked, “Are you ready for your present, Peace?”

A small thrill ran through Lynn followed by guilt.

“You’ve given me so much, Donovan! Fancy clothes, jewelry, a chair …”

“But today is Christmas!”

Donovan stood up, found new music on his playlist. He motioned for Lynn to join him in another dance. Ben Harper’s Forever played as they swayed gently in place. Lynn’s body grew warm, her heartbeat increased at an idea of what Donovan’s present might be.

“Donovan,” she whispered as his lips grazed her cheek, their feet barely moving as he swayed her back and forth. His dark eyes sparkled, but he looked intense, needy.

“Just let me talk, please,” he pleaded.

He quit dancing. Taking a deep breath, Donovan took both of Lynn’s hands into his own.

“Lynn, you totally captivate me.”

His hand swiped through that raven hair again.

“I can’t imagine being without you. I love you so much.”

Donovan looked upward, closing his eyes tightly for a minute.

“Shit! I can’t even put this into coherent words.”

Lynn’s eyes widened in amazement. She was tongue-tied, too. Before she could find words to encourage or comfort him, Donovan was on one knee, still holding her hands. Lynn gasped, breaking her right hand loose from his hold, covering her mouth in surprise.

“Lynn, would you marry me?”

Now Lynn took back her left hand, bringing it up to join the other on her face. Tears sprung into her bright blue eyes; she still could not communicate.

Donovan wasn’t sure what to make of a subdued Lynn.

“I know we haven’t known each other long, but I know what I want when I see it.”

Again, he ran his hand through his hair.

“You see me for who I am, not the celebrity that the media makes up. You bring peace, happiness … shit, Lynn! I don’t care if I get sixty years with you or six minutes. I can’t live without you! I don’t know how to …”

“Yes.”

Lynn sucked in a breath after she said the one word. Looking down at the man she loved, she saw a mixture of surprise, then relief, then complete love.

“Yes?” he whispered.

“Yes!” Lynn repeated, then grabbed his hands, intending to help him off the floor. Instead, Donovan pulled her down, wrapped his arms around her, and kissed her as if he was afraid the answer would change.

“I was afraid you would say no, say it’s still too soon,” he said when he broke the kiss.

“What’s too soon?” Lynn asked. “I’ve been thinking a lot about this since your first proposal. If I’ve learned anything, it’s that time does go quickly, and you’d better grab what you want when the opportunity presents itself. And enjoy every second you have.”

Donovan pulled Lynn to him, surrounding her with strong arms.

“Absolutely!” he agreed, then continued. “I mean it when I said the time thing. I need to enjoy every minute with you, whether it’s ten minutes or one hundred years.”

Lynn leaned over to give Donovan another big kiss.

Adelyn Zara knew she wanted to be a writer after creating a paragraph about a snowman in 4th grade.

She taught herself to type when her grandfather brought home an old typewriter from his job in Chicago.

She loved working with international students but hated the pressure cooker of work. So, she retired! But she continues to belong to NAFSA, National Association of International Educators.

Read an excerpt from EMOTIONALLY COMPROMISED

The car pulls away, and I’m alone with Jeremy, who’s now standing right next to me.

I stare into the distance, not wanting to make eye contact even though I know he’s staring at me. I bob back and forth on my heels, waiting for a cab, wishing for this moment to be over. He scoffs, and I still don’t budge.

As if he can’t take it, he says, “Really?”

The statement almost offends me. I turn to look at him, and it’s a blatant mistake. He stands with hands in his pockets in a nonchalant sort of pose, his dress shirt rolled up revealing his muscular forearms. My mouth starts watering. Focus.

“Excuse me?” I ask.

“You’re kidding right now, right? That stunt you just pulled with Marcus. Is this all because I grabbed your ass?” He’s coming dangerously close to being crude, and I get right to the point.

“Is this because I offered him my number, and not you?”

His mouth forms a hard line, and he’s all tough CEO, but I’m no mouse and I stare right back. After a moment, he’s back to trying to hold back his smile.

“Maybe it is.” He pouts.

When Jeremy pouts, it’s a remarkable sight. I gulp over my last thought.

“Well, I would say I’m sorry, but I’m not.”

As if dumbfounded, he continues, “Why Marcus? Why him? He’s been a drunk slob all night.”

Is he really putting down his friend? I wonder if talking about his friends this way is a habit.

I turn to look away because I can’t think of a logical response. He knows I’m attracted to him, and I will not let him take advantage of that fact. I can tell he thinks it’s funny that I’m giving him the silent treatment, and it annoys me.

He leans in somewhat close, and in a mocking tone, he says, “Is it these blue eyes? Are they too much for you?”

Before I can stop it, a laugh erupts from my mouth, and I look at him and roll my eyes.

“Mr. Hunt, you’re definitely not used to not getting what you want, and it almost pleases me that I can affect you so.”

He bites his lip, nodding his head as he looks away.

“You’re toying with me.”

Maybe I am.

Title: IF YOU LOVE ME

Author: Ciara Knight

Genre: Contemporary Romance

About If You Love Me:

Ex-Army sergeant, Drew Lancaster demands order, but when he’s thrust into small-town politics involving crazy elders and a manipulative mayor he finds himself submerged in chaos. His only hope to navigate the strange rules of the town comes from a distractingly beautiful, mess of a woman – Carissa Donahue.

As a small town girl, Carissa lives her life on a whim and a prayer. Even in the kitchen she never uses a recipe, yet her sweets are known as the best throughout the South. She has no desire to be a part of Drew’s show, but she knows it’s the town’s best option to increase tourism during a troubling economic time. If there wasn’t an upturn, she’d have to close her bakery. She can’t lose it. Owning a bakery has been her lifelong dream, and her focus since her best friend ran away with her fiancé.

The icing on the project for Drew is that a colleague has promised him a spot working at a real film network if Drew can spend time with Carissa and not fall in love. Drew isn’t sure he can resist the one person he’d never date under different circumstances, nor is he sure he wants to.

Can Drew convince Carissa she can trust him enough to open her heart?

Exclusive Excerpt:

“Drew Lancaster? His name even sounds like a pompous jerk.” Stella grunted for extra emphasis. “If we can’t meet for five minutes, then how can we work together for five months?”

“Listen, I realize these corporate types need to be treated as if they’re everything in the world, so don’t worry about it. I’ll just send him to Tabitha,” Ms. Horton said in a matter-of-fact tone.

“Like a toddler still on a pacifier,” Stella muttered under her breath.

She protested too much, which meant she needed this more than she would admit. They all knew her business was struggling the most in recent years. And even after all this time, as much as Carissa held so much resentment toward Jackie, she still couldn’t let the rest of her childhood friends lose to their arch enemies. No way would she allow them to win this program. Maybe if she spoke to this exec, she could convince him to start with one of the other girls first…another of the Fabulous Five. “Fine, I’ll meet with the glorified party planner.” Carissa realized that Jackie had a point. She did sound more like Stella than herself today. Good, maybe it was time for Carissa to give up her sweet-doormat title. It was time to take a walk and cool off before she met with this Drew character, so she turned on her heels and smacked into something hard and large. She rubbed her nose free of sting and blinked up at a perfect stranger. Perfect height, perfect hair, perfect lips.

“You okay there?” His deep voice closed in around her.

Space. That’s what she needed. She moved away and took a breath. A breath of Ode de Mysterious with an undertone of trouble. After a moment, she managed to turn her January gloom into a friendly welcome. “Yes, I am now. Thank you. Sorry. Who are you?”

He quirked an attitude-changing grin at her. “I’m the pompous, glorified party planner, toddler, stuck-on-a-pacifier Drew Lancaster.”

New Release ~ Image Protector ~ by ~ Lily Alexander

Title: Image Protector

Series: Image Series
Author: Lily Alexander
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: July 8, 2020

Nothing in Hollywood stays a secret for long.

Nora Chase is the good girl of the small screen.

Her carefully cultivated image is under lock and key – the price to keep it that way has been steep. One misstep in a relationship early in her Hollywood career cost her dearly – and she’s still paying the price.

When she meets Maxwell Caine through mutual friends, her emotions pay no attention to the moratorium she’s put on relationships. She never meant to fall in love again, let alone so quickly. His steadfast presence gives a comfort she didn’t know she was seeking and isn’t sure she deserves.

Will he stand by her when her past is exposed?

“So, yeah. You and Maxwell.” Devon’s eyebrow lifted as he showed her the screen of his phone. He playfully hummed the ‘sitting in a tree k-i-s-s-i-n-g’ melody.

They had just been allowed to vacate their chairs in the make-up trailer and were on their way across the back-lot to wardrobe.

The picture was of them leaving Cleo after their date, both of them smiling. Maxwell had his hand on her lower back and she appeared to be leaning into his touch. They looked comfortable and familiar. Happy even.

They definitely didn’t look like they were on a first date, either, which was strangely satisfying and also just a little bit strange.

Remembering how his warm hand felt on her body made her lips curve upward. It was just seconds later they had encountered the paparazzi near the parking lot. That particular shot appeared to have been taken from across the street.

“Dinner,” she said simply.

Devon grunted in frustration and followed her into wardrobe.

“Obviously. How’d it go?”

Nora shook her head. Devon was enjoying this entirely too much.

“Why are you so anxious to get the two of us together? I don’t understand why it matters so much to you.”

Devon clucked his tongue at her, eyebrows drawn together as he tsked. He gathered the clothing meant for him and she did the same. They efficiently changed in small curtained cubicles next to one another.

“You’ve dated, but you haven’t had a real, serious boyfriend since that weirdo in college. What was his name? John? Jack? James?”

Nora knew he was being ridiculous on purpose. He was also wrong. It was one of the few secrets she’d ever kept from him.

“Jacob. You know that.”

“Ah yes, Jacob the art history major.” Devon pulled a face and gave an exaggerated half-gag.

“He was nice.”

Devon’s arm flew out, pointing directly at her as she adjusted her blouse and wiggled around in the leather pants she had been assigned. She could swear that the wardrobe ladies were only making her wear them because they hated seeing her enjoy food. Though they really did make her ass look good. She shrugged at herself in the mirror as she looked over one shoulder at her backside.

“Exactly. Nice.” He looked like he’d sucked on a lemon. “We’ve already had this conversation.”

With that, he turned on his heel and strode quickly out of wardrobe, Nora hustling to follow him to set.

“At least he wasn’t a huge jerk. Or have constant onion breath. Or another girlfriend.” Those things may have been just a few of the things she’d encountered on dates since graduating and moving to Los Angeles.

None of those were the big bad ugly either. Devon knew about the man she’d seen for an extremely short amount of time named David, but he didn’t know what he’d done. What he was still doing. Devon had him classified in the three dates or less category which to him didn’t count. In reality, they’d dated seriously for a few months.

Keeping a secret like that from Devon had been no small feat, and she was beginning to feel like the clock was ticking for how long she could keep it up.

“True, but still not worthy of you, my dear.” That smirk appeared and Devon slung his arm over her shoulders. “Tell Uncle Dev all about it.”

Nora sighed, knowing she was going to be trapped with him for a while as they finished shooting a different scene. There was no getting around her best friend or his nosiness.

“We met for dinner. It was amazing Greek food and reminded me of Yiayia Lou. Paps were waiting when we left. That was less than awesome, but he used his body to block them for me.” She inclined her head, knowing this tidbit would please him.

Devon’s eyebrows rose up, and he smiled. “Good man.”

Nora’s head nodded shortly. “Yes. He’s very nice,” she teased.

He growled. “Don’t make me text my wife. I will.”

A laugh rose out of her chest. “You text her all day long, anyway. And I think you just love calling her that. Simply saying the word wife brings you joy. It’s weird. You know that it’s a little weird, right? Based on your ‘three dates and done’ history?”

Lily is a Colorado native enjoying the fantastic climate of Southern California with her family and cranky cat after surviving more than a decade in hot, humid places where hurricanes get their own season and Winter is a myth.

The written word is her favorite thing – reading or writing, she doesn’t discriminate. Left to her own devices she can read about a book a day; that HEA is a powerful drug!

As an only child she grew up inventing elaborate stories for her dolls to act out. She started word processing on a computer around age 10 and never looked back. After suffering the heartbreak of catastrophic drive failure a regrettable number of times, she has finally learned to back things up appropriately and often.

Follow her antics on social media! (If she disappears for a bit around late August, don’t worry, that’s just her wanderlust kicking in. She’ll be back soon.)

Objective: Get hired as a temporary secretary
and find out if Champ Holloway is a dirty, cheating scumbag.
Time Frame: One week.
Gabby would do anything for her best friend, Mia. Anything.
That’s what besties are for, right? But going undercover at her boyfriend’s
work to find out if he’s cheating seems a bit extreme. Except she can’t say no.
Never to Mia. The moment she walks in and sees her boyfriend, she
knows she made a mistake. He’s sex on a stick, and she wants to take a
delicious bite. He’s also a bit too arrogant, needs to work on his pleases and
thank yous, and he never smiles. Everyone should smile at least once a day.
It’s one long week of a battle of wills, sinful glances, and keeping her hands
to herself. All she can do is repeat Mia. Mia. Mia. This is all for Mia. Until
she realizes…there are two Mr. Holloways. And she got hired by the wrong one.

Excerpt
“Mia, come on, talk to him. See if he’s cheating on you. You’re
obviously getting a feeling that he’s doing something wrong if you’re asking me
to do this. It’s a little extreme for me to go ‘undercover,’” Gabby said, using
quotations with her fingers on the word undercover, “to see if your boyfriend
is cheating on you.”
“Since when are cheaters honest? Like he’s going to say, ‘Yeah, Mia
baby, I’m not cheating on you.’ He’d never admit it.”
She rolled her eyes. “Oh, God, does he call you baby? That’s
so…so…disgusting.”
“It’s sweet. It rolls off his tongue like butter melting on a piece of
warm bread. I love it when he calls me that.”
“If you say so. Look, Mia, I can’t take a week off work to go incognito
at his work. There’s no way in hell I could lie on the application about prior
employment. It’s not in me to lie like that.”
“You don’t have to lie. You were a secretary before.” Mia smirked.
“That’s another quarter.”
Gabby raised her eyebrows in disbelief, almost spitting out the small
gulp she had consumed. Then she rolled her eyes. “Stop making me swear. I’m
blaming you. And I was a secretary when I was nineteen. I’m twenty-nine now.
We’re a little too old to be playing these games. Talk to him.”
“I can’t. I don’t want to see him lie to my face.”
“If you think he’s cheating, I repeat—dump. His. Ass.”
“You’re almost up to a dollar.”
“Mia!” Gabby knew she was trying to irritate her.
“I need solid proof before I confront him.” Mia produced another pouty
face that was hard to resist. “I need you to do this. His secretary is on
maternity leave. It’s only a temp position, so it’s not like you’d be lying
that much when you leave after a week. He’s been talking about how all the applicants
have been horrible. He’ll hire you on the spot. I know it. Like you said, one
week. That’s all I’m asking. I need to know. Then I can dump the lying,
cheating, scumbag for sleeping around on me.”
Gabby gulped the rest of her drink, wiping her hand across her lips as
if she gained a mustache from the sweet red wine. “How do I let you talk me
into shit like this?” She groaned. “Yes, I know, I now owe a dollar.”
Mia screamed in delight, grabbing Gabby around the waist. “You’re the
best bestie ever.”
“Fine, bestie. One week. No more.”
“Yes! I knew I could count on you. His name is Champ Holloway.”
“I can’t believe I’m agreeing to this.”
