I’m a stay at home mom that loves to read. Some of my favorite titles are Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Horatio Hornblower. I haven’t read the other books in the Romance in NOLA series but I definitely need to go back and read the others now! Not that you need to read it to appreciate August and Scarlett’s story, but I just like the other characters and want to know their backstories.

It was instinctive to feel bad for August initially. Between hearing his backstory and being new in town, you just felt bad for him. But that quickly changed when I heard Scarlett’s story. Her Maw Maw struck something in me because I was in the same situation before my dad passed last year. So it hit home for me. Plus August was just totally a butthead to Scarlett once they started working together.

But I’ve totally got to give Scarlett so many props for being sassy and unwilling to back down with August. And for not being a tattletale for how things weren’t working with August but she still was willing to deal with it herself and not go running to Brennan.

He slides a finger along the length of my arm, and it feels amazing… warm and soft. And suddenly I want him to touch me everywhere.

He finally presses his hot mouth on mine. His lips are just as soft and delicious as I imagined in my fantasies. And he tastes of mint. And God, he knows how to kiss. Every stroke of his tongue, every soft bite of my lips reels me in deeper, arouses me more intensely. I lose myself in him, and I feel him lose himself in me.

He hikes up my thigh against his hips, and presses me against the wall of bottles. I wrap my arms around his shoulders, and hike up my other leg against him, wanting to get closer to him, craving more. I grind against him, and when he jerks up the skirt of my dress, I’m game for anything.
