Since I’ve found Rebecca Barber, I’ve been a fan of her writing! And Taking Charge, and the McIntyres, are just another series of hers to love! 
Beau comes back home after a frantic call from one of his younger brothers. He left town years ago to get away from his father and make something of himself so he’s less than thrilled to be back home. 
Payton has just moved in, well 6 months ago, after catching her fiancée in bed with another woman. So she turns tail and runs to a new town and buys the bakery in town. Owning a bakery has been her dream and she’s living it in this small town where no ones knows her and her background. Except Beau is just too much for her and she can’t keep away. 
So many twists and turns I didn’t see coming but just made this more of a gripping story!

This was a quick, hot read that I’ve come to expect from Aria Cole’s Books. The one thing I felt was missing (to me) was how Colt and this girl from his past got together. WHY couldn’t he forget her? 
Colt is back in town after tours in the Middle East and he has PTSD – rightfully so. But he always can’t forget the one who got away. But then there’s a horse boarder Raven who interests him.
Raven is in town and can’t help but be interested in Colt. He’s big, strong, silent and alpha.

Propping myself against the wall, I cross my arms and cross my feet at the ankles, making myself comfortable as I wait. At the sound of the door unlatching I look at the floor, not wanting to seem intrusive. 
Two high heels step out into my line of vision. Slowly, I bring my eyes up from the carpet, taking in the toned calves, followed by a tight black skirt encasing hips with a slight curve, leading to a tucked-in royal blue shirt covering a chest that could only be described as a nice handful, framed by soft blond curls. Finally I make it to a face with creamy white skin, lips covered in erotic-looking red, and the most stunning sapphire-blue eyes I’ve ever seen. By her pursed lips and raised brow, I know I’ve been caught staring. Not that I would have been able to hide it—she’s striking, and my eyes are stuck like a moth to a flame. Gawking probably isn’t the best impression for me to make, but hell this girl—no, woman—is beautiful. Tipping one side of her mouth up, she gives me a knowing grin then passes me without a word. Like a magnet, my eyes follow until she rounds the corner and is out of my sight. 
The sound of my name, coming from Miranda, snaps my attention back to the door the beauty walked out of. 
“Reid, I didn’t expect to see you standing out here. I’m assuming you finished all your paperwork?” she asks, taking a couple of steps toward me. 
“Yeah, it’s all set. I gave the folder to Brian.”
“Great. Ah, well, then let’s introduce you to the crew.” 
Miranda moves down the same hall the gorgeous blonde just took, and I follow. Passing two rows of cubicles, we enter what looks to be the common area, and it’s already lined with employees. I take a minute to look at the faces around the circle, but I stop when I reach the space directly across from me. The blonde is standing next to a brunette with wild hair and a crazy style. The same knowing smirk is on her face, and for some reason, I can’t seem to tear my eyes away from it.

I haven’t read a Christi Barth Book before but I definitely will be after reading this story! 

Rafe and his 2 brothers are now part of the Witness Protection program after Rafe agrees to testify against his former boss, head of the Irish Mob in Chicago. Part of the deal is them moving to a teeny town in Oregon, where Rafe meets Dr Mollie and falls in lust. 

Mollie sort of reminded me of Gilmore Girls in that the whole town basically raised her and she was the town’s “daughter”. 

Rafe is sweet and loyal and alpha considering he’s an ex mob man. He is taking care of his brothers and keeping them safe, by any means necessary. Now I can’t wait to see the other brothers HEAs.

Rachel settled onto the stool beside me, her spine ramrod straight. She tucked her elbows to her sides. Not exactly relaxed.

A drink could help. “What’s your poison?”

“You don’t want the Lynmar. 2011 was a brutal year. Trust me.” No need to bore her about the early rains that season and the lack of fruit.

“Actually I do want the Lynmar.”

Cameron moved to grab the bottle, but I held up my hand. He halted. 

To her, I said, “I’ve been sipping the Foursight since I got here. You telling me you don’t want a taste?”

Her attention dropped to my lips again, and she grazed her teeth over hers. Fire sparked in her brown eyes. “I may want a taste of that wine. Later. For now I want the Lynmar.”

“It’s inferior.”

“It’s splendid.”

“The season was crap.”

“The season was hard, not crap.”

“The Foursight is a sure thing,” I said. She must have seen the heat in my gaze.

“I like the underdog,” she countered, a sultry note to her voice. “Finding a diamond in the rough. The vines that survived 2011 were stronger, and a few vintages shone. Like the Lynmar. Hints of spice. Creamy mouthfeel.” A quiet hum passed her lips.

Okay. The girl knew her wine, and my attraction to her spiked. With the haunts I’d been frequenting, and my bartending gig at Rudy’s Tavern, I hadn’t been around a woman like her in ages. No visible ink, her outfit more conservative than racy. Her straight brown hair would look sexy as hell tangled in my fist. “You sure you don’t want to skip to the mouthfeel part?”

She smiled freely, the first hint of her letting loose. “I’m still not sure how bitter the aftertaste will be.”

My answering grin was just as carefree. “I know how to make it sweet, Sunshine.”

She barely reacted, but her nostrils flared. “Then get me a glass of the Lynmar.”

“You’ll regret it.”

“I’m already regretting walking in here.”

I chuckled, unsure the last time flirting had been this much fun. “How about a bet?”

“I don’t bet with strangers.”

“But you have drinks with them?”

She paused. “What sort of bet?”

Between her rejection at Vesper and her stiff posture now, sitting beside me was probably pushing her beyond her limits. Limits I wanted to test. The women I’d messed around with weren’t tough to reel in. We were always after the same thing: a fun night between the sheets. The girl at my side was tipsy, but not so drunk she didn’t know what she was after. Something told me if I could unlace her, it would be lightyears beyond fun.

“You do a blind tasting of the Foursight and the Lynmar,” I said. “If you can’t tell them apart, then I buy you a glass of my choosing, and I get to taste it on your lips. At my place.”

“That escalated fast.” So did her breathing.

“Did you want this to go slow?”

Instead of turning me down, she said, “If I win…if I guess each wine, what do I get?”

“You tell me.”

“A winery?”

I barked out a laugh, but there was nothing funny about her joke. Two years ago, I’d have been able to ante up. “Might be out of my budget. Anything else?”

She looked at me through lowered lashes. “My place.”

Now we were getting somewhere.

Rachel is quite hysterical and unique. She wants to date but just can’t find a good guy. But she meets super hot Jimmy and decides he will be a good one-night stand at least.

Jimmy has his own demons but when he sees (and hears Rachel) he knows she’s something special. So when they cross paths again, he’s not going to let her forget it or dismiss him.

This was a story that made me laugh and swoon and want to find my own tender-hearted, inked up, Harley riding bad boy.

Kelly is the author of CHASING CRAZY, MY PERFECT MISTAKE, A FINE MESS, and HOOKED ON TROUBLE, the latter three being part of her Over the Top series. A small-town girl at heart, she moved from the city to open a cheese shop with her husband in northern Ontario. When she’s not neck deep in cheese or out hiking, you can find her, notepad in hand, scribbling down one of the many plot bunnies bouncing around in her head. She’s also an incurable romantic, devouring romance novels into the wee hours of the morning.
