Series: Water Series
Titles: Wishing on the Water & Water Wishes
Author: Elizabeth York
Genre: Romantic Suspense
AVAILABLE NOW
“I was always told never to wish on the first star at night. If everyone wishes on the first star, how can the star keep up? Rain drops are plentiful and there are thousands. They wash away the filth and carry it to a better place. So when you make a wish, wish on the water and let it carry your fears away.”

Candice-Leigh Carson, a New York City best-selling author, was engaged to one of NYPD’s finest. She was living the dream until she lost her fiancé, quit her job and moved, leaving behind the only family she ever knew. She left her best friend Jaxson, without saying goodbye. In her quest to find herself, would she ever find love again?

Jaxson Monroe, one of NYPD’s finest, lost his partner when an undercover job went south. After spending a night with his partner’s lover, Candice, she flees into the night. He loved Candice and had promised his partner he would protect her. It was his fault she ran, but he quickly found himself in the arms of another. Would Jaxson ever convince Candice to come home or did he prefer another woman? Would their love survive his betrayal and her abandonment?

Candice Monroe had a fiance Chase Matson who she thought was dead. After his funeral she found comfort in the arms of his partner, Jason Monroe. This new yet old love led her down an aisle as wedding bells sang.

Shock and dismay hit as her deceased fiance stood alive and well in the back of the church as she said her vows.

People she thought were dead are very much alive. Love she thought she lost was merely buried under pain. Not being able to grasp the emotional turmoil Candice does what she does best… runs.

Will she ever stop running?

Which man will she choose?

Can she be the hero or will she become a victim as the game of rush and roulette began on her life before she even knew it had.

Up and coming author Elizabeth York has been writing for about seven years. Located in the southeast, she spends her days drinking sweet tea on the porch with her laptop in hand. She has devoted her life to her family and her books. With the loss of her Father to cancer in 2010 she makes “Dear Daddy” dedication pages in each book and donates 10% royalties to cancer research.
Take the time to get to know the characters and you will love them as much as she does.

Blurb

A STANDALONE NOVEL that does NOT need to be read in conjunction with any other book.

From New York Times bestselling author, Penelope Ward, comes a friends-to-lovers story with sexy new characters.

After getting dumped, the last thing I needed was to move next door to someone who reminded me of my ex-boyfriend, Elec.

Damien was a hotter version of my ex.

The neighbor I’d dubbed “Angry Artist” also had two massive dogs that kept me up with their barking.

He wanted nothing to do with me. Or so I thought until one night I heard laughter coming through an apparent hole in my bedroom wall.

Damien had been listening to all of my phone sessions with my therapist.

The sexy artist next door now knew all of my deepest secrets and insecurities.

We got to talking.

He set me straight with tips to get over my breakup.

He became a good friend, but Damien made it clear that he couldn’t be anything more.

Problem was, I was falling hard for him anyway. And as much as he pushed me away, I knew he felt the same…because his heartbeat didn’t lie.

I thought my heart had been broken by Elec, but it was alive and beating harder than ever for Damien.

I just hoped he wouldn’t shatter it for good.

Author’s note – Neighbor Dearest is a full-length standalone novel. Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

EXCERPT:

~Franka~

I remembered that look.

I relished that look.

Not only on my Antoine but any lover I’d had (but, obviously, getting it from Antione was far more rewarding).

It was a look I worked toward, putting great energy and imagination into it, losing myself in these endeavors, feeling free of my name, my history, my secrets, my responsibilities, and reveling in my success as if I’d scaled mountains.

It was my greatest talent outside, of course (as any good Drakkar would excel), honing in on any vulnerability and manipulating it for the greatest possible gain—coin, jewels, furs, favors, silence, information, or simply for amusement.

Seeing the look on Noctorno at that moment, I knew Circe too had performed well (admirably well, I might add, considering her dismal past).

I also recognized—focusing on it keenly—what Circe might have missed, or perhaps what Noctorno hid from her understanding, or simply just sensing, how she came to him.

He was not done.

Oh no.

If she had not given indication she wished him out of her bedchamber, he’d still be in it.

Indeed, he might be in it all night, and not to sleep.

He might have been in it, perhaps, for days.

As these thoughts flitted in my mind, I became aware he’d fully entered the room, was stopped not far from my chair, and was standing, chin tipped down, eyes regarding me with a scrutiny that I found so uncomfortable I actually shifted in my seat.

I ceased this reaction the instant I became aware of it, appalled at myself.

Giving something away so easily? Especially something like discomfiture?

You’ve ruined me, I snapped silently at Antoine.

My dead lover had no rejoinder.

“You okay?” Noctorno asked.

“Am I what?” I asked in return.

His head gave a slight twitch before he went on, “You okay? All right?” His voice lowered. “It’s been a tough day, babe, for all of us. Including you.”

I looked beyond him to the fire, lifting my wine to my lips but not sipping it until after I murmured, “I’m perfectly fine.”

“Yeah, right,” he stated, and the disbelief veritably dripping from his tone made my gaze flick immediately back to him.

This meant I watched as he sauntered right in front of me to the chair accompanying mine, threw his lengthy frame in it and reached for the wine at the table that separated our seats.

He also reached for the extra glass.

These were seats, I shall add, that were turned at corners to each other with a small, round table in between, so my knee was nearly touching his.

He poured.

It was on the tip of my tongue to share that I had not invited him to attend me.

Alas, I became distracted by his long fingers, and the words died in my mouth.

Kristin Ashley - headshotAbout Kristen Ashley:

Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA and nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorise and she hadn’t taken her first breath!). Her mother said they took Kristen away, put her Mom back in her room, her mother looked out the window, and Gary was on fire (Dr. King had been assassinated four days before). Kristen’s Mom remembered thinking it was the end of the world. Quite the dramatic beginning.

Nothing’s changed.

Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana and has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus, she’s blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her family was (is) loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write. They all lived together on a very small farm in a small farm town in the heartland. She grew up with Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing, it keeps getting better.

Kirsty.
Addiction is something you have no control over.
I would love to say I have control over my feelings for
Michael Smith, but I can’t.
He weakens my resolve.
The longer he stays in my life, the harder it gets to walk
away from him and the more addicted I become.
My dark past makes me guarded where men are concerned …
why is he so different?
Michael.
She is my addiction. I’m prepared to give up my life back
home for her, to make a new life for us together … if she lets me in.
We all have pasts, but hers is stopping her moving forward
in life. A life I’m desperate to be a part of.
When her past comes back to haunt her, could I be giving up
more than my life back home in New York?

“You know, she’s not the only one who could use some fun in her life,”
Michael whispers leaning closer to me. I feel the hairs on the back of my neck
stand up. It’s been a while since a man had this effect on me. Closing my eyes,
I suck in a deep breath.
“Are you insinuating I don’t know how to have a good time?” I ask him as
my eyes flicker open to Libby and Alex.
“Those two wouldn’t notice if you and I started making out, here and
now.” Making out, who even says that? I want to laugh, but I also don’t want to
draw attention to us.
I put my hand on his thigh and slowly run it toward his groin. Keeping
my eyes on him, I watch as his blue eyes light up in amusement. Testing and
teasing him. My hand stops when I feel his erection in his trousers; it turns
me on, but I pull my hand away before I do something I will regret. Yes,
Michael and I are going to get along. He is just the type of man I could have
some fun with. Lots of fun with no strings attached.
“Oh, I know how to have fun, but I don’t think you have what it takes to
have fun with me.”
“Don’t be so sure of that, sweetheart, I’m sure I have all the right
equipment and it’s all in working order. I know you and I could have a lot of
fun together.”
I turn away from him before either of us says anything else. But, I have
to agree with him, he is just the type I could have fun with. A lot of fun
with.

I live just outside Glasgow with my husband and kids. I
currently help manage the family business. I find my escape from the ups
and downs of family and business life, reading good books and recently rediscovered
a passion for writing.

Cover Reveal ~ Joint Venture ~ Kristen Luciani

Title: Joint Venture
Series: Venture #4
Author: Kristen Luciani
Release Date: Aug 29, 2016
Add on Goodreads
Notorious celebrity playboy A.J. Morgan has more emotional baggage than notches on his well-used bedpost, but bleached blonde, silicone-enhanced three-ways and excess of whiskey are all the therapy he needs.
Live to indulge, indulge to fill the voids.
Those are his rules…. until he meets cunning financial analyst-slash-sexy club singer Lisa Embry, a woman whose heart is surrounded by more barbed wire than a high-security prison.
Rules? What rules?
One lust-filled romp with his female alter-ego turns A.J. into an addict in need of his next fix and he’ll pay any price for another hit.
But he soon finds out Lisa has her own rules… ones that can never be broken.
I’m a starving man. Get your delicious ass over here so I can feast on you.
Mmm, yes. The come hither text. Pun intended. Exactly what Lisa needed… a few steamy hours with Danny’s hot body plastered on top of her writhing one. It was a necessary diversion to close the book on this week. And after that? Vodka. Anything to numb her mind. She’d tried to focus, holed up at the office, crunching numbers until her eyes grew bleary and bloodshot, all with the hope she could ignore the painful reality that reared its ugly head every time her mother established contact.
Sex was about the only thing she was willing to offer since her emotional state was about as stable as a one-legged elephant walking a tightrope. Her story wasn’t unique – deadbeat dad took off with a busty blond mistress, leaving his wife and daughter to pick up the jagged pieces of their once-happy lives. Yep, relationships equated to devastation, and carnal urges always trumped romance.
Ding!
The elevator door creaked open and she almost choked on her next breath. Holy crap on a cracker. The tiny enclosure was graced by the presence of a single passenger who could only be described as Eros personified. She allowed her eyes to rake the length of his muscular body with the ferocity of a tiger stalking its prey. Danny who?
Tall with thick, dark hair, sinful lips, and an amazing ass – that last observation courtesy of the mirrors flanking him on all sides. A tight, white T-shirt clung to his broad chest and her fingers tightened around the handle of her laptop bag, itching to trace every last ripple. Sweet Jesus, she needed to get laid.
His gaze never left the phone in his hand as she stepped inside. And damn, it was a huge, powerful hand. The other one was tucked into the front pocket of his low-rise, hip-skimming black jeans but good Lord, it would feel so nice burrowed somewhere else.
Her pulse throbbed as the car sailed toward the lobby much too quickly for her liking. A few more seconds and Adonis would wander out of her life forever, not that it mattered. His face was a mask of indifference; it never once shifted, nor did his eyes wander in her direction. Must be a model, and a gay one at that. She’d run into more than her fair share on this very elevator since one of the top agencies on the West Coast occupied a floor of the building. But she’d still give her right arm for another few seconds to indulge in the X-rated fantasies looping through her lust-tinged mind. Maybe her left arm, too.
A sudden and powerful lurch rocketed her against the back wall. She gripped the handrail, heart thundering in her chest. The lights flickered tauntingly until everything faded to blackness. What the fu–?
She blinked a few times, eyes struggling to focus. Shallow breaths escaped her lips. They were stuck in a metal box that weighed hundreds of thousands of pounds, suspended by cables that could snap at any second—Dammit! Why hadn’t she taken the stairs? Another jerk made her stomach clench. “Oh my God, oh my God,” she whimpered, clutching the rail. “I don’t want to die. Not tonight.”
“Big plans?”
“Don’t talk! You’ll use up all the oxygen.” A lump formed in her throat, each gulp of air harder and harder to pull into her lungs. Beads of perspiration formed on the back of her neck, chest tight. What if they didn’t know there were people in the elevator? And how would they get help? It was too dark to see the alarm button—
She let out a bloodcurdling scream as the car dropped what felt like a hundred feet before it yanked back upward. Elevator cables weren’t like bungee cords. There was no slack. They just snapped.
A small bright light revealed a lazy smile and deep-set eyes that could singe her insides under normal circumstances, when she wasn’t a few feet away from meeting certain fiery death at the bottom of an elevator shaft. “Relax. Just hit the alarm button.”
Teeth chattering, she shook her head. “I’m too scared to move.”
He jabbed the button and nothing. No response, except the palpitations that assaulted her heart.
Tears formed in her eyes, her breathing ragged. “It’s not working. We’re going to die in here. They’ll be too late to save us. Nobody knows we’re even in here!” She clutched her chest, squinting in the light emitted by his phone. “I’m having a fucking heart attack. I’m going to die in an elevator. God only knows if they’ll be able to recognize our mangled bodies after the crash.” The golf ball-sized lump morphed into a grapefruit with the pass of each agonizing second. “Why aren’t you talking?” she shouted.
“You told me not to.”
“So why did you listen? I’m clearly hysterical!”
“Clearly.”
Her hands grew clammy, sweat now drizzling down her back. This was it. No sex. No vodka. Just impending death. “I need to get to a hospital,” she choked. “I’m too young to survive a heart attack. I won’t make it!”
The phone light faded and they were once again immersed in blackness.
Lisa let out a gasp. “What happened to the—”
Soft, yet demanding lips pressed against hers, extinguishing all coherent thought. Sweet, sugary, bubble gum flavored lips. Strong hands caressed the sides of her face, stroking the loose strands of hair now matted to her neck. Tiny shivers danced across her damp skin as the coiling warmth of his tongue probed and plundered her eager mouth. Oh Lord, they must already be dead because this was heaven… a better one than she’d ever dreamed.
Minutes passed. Or maybe hours. Overhead light illuminated the elevator car, the motor roaring back to life. But his mouth was so insistent that she could do nothing other than comply with its very wanton wishes. Her hands tangled in his hair, pulling him close, longing to feel his—
Ding! It was the one sound that could break the intoxicating spell. He ran a hand through his tousled hair and strode through the elevator doors as they opened without so much as a backward glance. No effing way. Lisa Embry was not one to be ignored.
“Hey!” she sputtered as she followed, still breathless. “What the hell was that? You can’t just go around assaulting random helpless women!”
“You’re far from helpless. Besides, I didn’t hear any complaints when I had you pinned against the wall. Maybe you need to have a chat with that tongue of yours… and some of the other body parts that were edging in on the action.” He turned, a wicked gleam reflected in his alluringly deviant eyes.
Whaat?” Her stilettos clicked on the marble floor as she stomped toward him. “You’re a disgusting pig. I panicked, you saw an opportunity and took it.” Two could play that insidious little game. Standing down, her lips curled into a smirk. “Poor thing. Are you really that desperate?”
“That’s supposed to be a rhetorical question, right?”
Her fists clenched at her sides, twitching, aching to knock that smug look off his beautiful face. “You’re a real asshole. Who the hell do you think you are?”
A cocky smile appeared, revealing a dimple in his left cheek. “I just prevented a heart attack. Call me God.”

EPIC LIES is the second book in the EPIC FAIL series and can be read as a STANDALONE novel.

This series is a spinoff of the FOREVER FAMILY series.

“Giselle…”
I turn to see him staring at me. Staring into me.
My cheeks flush, and I’m not sure if it’s from the wine or his proximity to me. His presence does something to me that I haven’t felt in a very long time. My pulse quickens, and I remember how I felt the night he came to my house, when I thought he was going to kiss me. How much I wanted him to. Now I want it more than ever.
I lick my lips and taste remnants of wine and strawberry Chapstick. “Dax?”
His gaze falls to my lips, and I lick them again, nervously.
“Fuck,” he mutters and exhales harshly.
“What?” I ask. My God, what is he waiting for?
“You–you’re beautiful. And I don’t know why, but I can’t get you out of my head. I haven’t been able to since that day. And I want to say so much, do so much. And I’m restraining myself. But you’re here. Why the fuck are you here?” His rambling is confusing me. He just said so much but nothing at all.
“Why are you mad at me?” The vibe that’s coming off of him is–intense. He’s frustrated and seems angry. “I swear to God I didn’t follow you here.” Tears threaten to spill out of my eyes. Get a grip, Giselle.
“What?” He looks at me and his eyes soften. “No. No, I’m not mad at you at all. And I believe you, I don’t think you followed me. You couldn’t have possibly known I was coming here. I’m not even checked into the hotel under my real name,” he mutters.
“Oh.” I’m still confused. His demeanor is constantly contradicting his mood swings. I can’t tell if he wants to kiss me or strangle me. “Then why are you acting this way?”
“I’m not good at this,” he answers.
“Good at what? Talking to someone?” I press.
“Restraining myself,” he says, and I tense up, my pulse racing.
“Jesus, Dax. Then don’t.”

This book reminded me a little of You’ve Got Mail, with an updated twist since this is via text not email.

Lexie has just moved to NYC, gotten a job as an assistant and living for herself – her dreams that her father’s death convinced her to shoot for.  In the building of her new job is a gym with a gym membership as part of the company perks.  It’s at this gym that she meets Matthew – adonis personal trainer who is WAY out of Lexie’s league – or so she thinks.

Matthew is wildly attracted to Lexie and is willing to set about teaching her that all guys aren’t untrustworthy.  Except he’s the guy she’s text-flirting for her boss and he knows it but she doesn’t…

4.5 stars!

“Why did you do that?”

It was the first time she’d spoken without being prompted. “Do what?”

Her face flushed the sweetest pink. The color went all the way down that sexy V-neck. Her breasts flushed as well as her face, and it made his damn dick tighten. “Kiss me. Why did you kiss me like that?”

Oh, so many reasons, but he gave her the most compelling one. “I wanted to.”

The minute she’d opened the door and he’d seen her standing there looking anxious, he’d known how to calm her down. All he’d had to do was put his hands on her and some odd connection flared between the two of them. She hadn’t fought him. He could have gone on kissing her. He’d been the one to pull away.

It was like the minute he walked in, he was the only thing that existed for her. It made him feel ten feet tall, but it also made him want to please her.

It was an unsettling sensation.

Her hands came up, fingers on the sides of the table. “You know what I’m asking. You knew I wasn’t alone. Why did you pretend to be my boyfriend?”

It was easy to see she’d wanted him to wait for her at the restaurant so as to avoid him meeting her sister and ex. When she’d opened the door, he’d immediately known something was wrong. He’d gotten a glimpse of her sister and known Ellie had likely needed a hand. It had to be tough on a woman’s ego to lose even a pathetic excuse of a husband to a younger sister.

“You were alone with your sister who slept with your husband. Excuse me. Ex-husband.”

She shook her head. “At the time, we were definitely married. How did you know he was my ex-husband?”

“He took half your net wealth. I’m your lawyer. At this level, a good lawyer is less legal counsel and more war consultant. I can’t properly perform my duties if I don’t know everything about you, including the fact that you tend to have terrible taste in men.”

She frowned. “I haven’t had a ton of boyfriends. I’m not sure what my taste is.”

He really wanted to understand why she’d married that obvious prick. “What attracted you to him? Because from where I was standing, he looked like a dickwad desperate to be twenty-one again.”

She bit into her bottom lip, her eyes glancing away from him. “He wasn’t always like that. I actually met him when he was twenty-one. He was far more mature then.”

He liked her candor. “You were in college?”

“Last year of undergrad. We dated for two years and then it seemed like it was time to get married. We’d moved back here to Manhattan so I could take my place at StratCast. I thought he was going to go to grad school, but he decided on a different path.”

“What path was that?”

A single brow rose over her right eye. “You don’t know?”

Of course he knew. He knew everything. “Are you referring to your ex-husband’s penchant for swinging for the fences? When it comes to investments, that is.”

It was what he liked to call “idiots who funded ridiculous ideas.” They never wanted a simple profit out of their money. They wanted millions and really fucking fast. They swung for the grand slam when all they needed to do was get on base.

It took a true genius to take a single idea and make millions off it. Drew had.

Her shoulders straightened. “He wanted the easy solution. A get-rich-quick scheme. He wasn’t that way at first. At one point he was very intellectual. It’s what attracted me to him. He was curious about the world and liked to discuss everything from politics to social jus- tice to movies we saw. He changed. I didn’t. In some ways, I blame getting involved with me for what happened to him. He got around my father and real wealth and wanted some of his own. When I met him, he wanted to be a professor. He wanted to teach.”

At least he’d gotten her this far. She was talking. Now he needed to get those shoulders down from around her earlobes. For one moment, for that moment when he’d drawn her into his arms and pressed his mouth to hers, she’d relaxed against him, given over to him. Her body had softened and she’d leaned into him, and if he’d pressed her, he didn’t know what would have happened. She might have continued kissing him, forgetting all about the other people in the room. He could have cupped her breast, her ass. Put his hands anywhere he liked.

She hadn’t given a damn that they hadn’t been alone. All she’d cared about was him.

I love this new series!  While I can’t imagine all the Lawless siblings have gone through to bring justice to their parents, it’s a very believeable story.

Riley is the pretty boy brother who is used when they need “eye candy”.  He is going to be the one to lure or distract Ellie while the Lawless clan tries to find proof of StratCast’s misdealings.  The one thing Riley didn’t expect is that Ellie isn’t ruthless or a thief like others in the company.

Ellie is just trying to get her father’s company.  Until she gets dragged in to Riley and family’s plans to get justice.

I can’t wait for Drew’s story.  I think he might be my favorite brother!

5 stars!

Blog Tour & Review ~ The Gun Runner ~ by ~ Scott Hildreth

Title: The Gun Runner
Author: Scott Hildreth
Genre: Contemporary Romance, Mafia Romance, Military Romance, and Erotic Romance
Release Date: Aug 8, 2016

The first book in a seductive new series from Scott Hildreth, the #1 Amazon bestselling author of BRAWLER and HARD CORPS.

Tripp

Once, I took down terrorists on the front lines as a marine.

Now I’m in the business of bad.

I’ve sold guns to people others might not approve of.

I’ve eliminated the criminals, the lowlifes and the thugs who’ve tread on my turf.

And I looked the Sicilian Mafia boss in the eye and told him to f*** off.

No one tells me no, unless it’s their last word.

I didn’t just act the part of bad—I lived it. Then she stumbled into my life.

I tried to stay away from her. Tried focusing on moving my merchandise. But one smile from Terra was like a shot to the heart.

She’s mine now. And no one threatens what’s mine.

Terra

I’ve seen a lot of terrible things in my life.

I grew up around lies and deception, and I ran away from all of them.

Until I met him.

I knew he was corrupt. I knew he was dangerous.

I should have stayed away, but my attraction to him, my needfor him, overrode my logic.

Now I love him.

If he finds out who I am, we’re done and I’ll be nothing.

I never wanted to be the Mafia princess they tried to make me, but mia familia had other plans. And what mia familia wants…it gets.

Only Michael Tripp can save me.

Tripp and Terra’s story continues in Book Two of Mafia Made, The Game Changer.

TBRreview
My 2nd Scott Hildreth book and it didn’t disappoint just like the first (Brawler) didn’t. I said this in my last review; Scott doesn’t write like a “traditional” male romance/erotica author. Meaning, his novels aren’t porn in written form. There is a backstory and not just a couple banging their brains out.
Michael and Terra are both more than what they’ve told the other person they are. Michael being a gun runner and Terra being a mafia princess. But their romance and chemistry are just off the charts!
This ends with sort of a cliffhanger. I’m hoping book 2 is coming soon!
