This book didn’t take me 6 days to read but I had to read other books first. I was too excited to get the conclusion that I had to start it! This review is not going to be super long but not because it’s not amazing, because there’s too many words to describe and they all would spoil this journey for you. And I HATE when people do that so I’m not going to be that guy. BUT good news, book 1 is currently free and book 2 is $.99. Do yourself a favor and buy them!

This book continues after the end of Side B so you need to read Side A & B first. Mel and all the BAD members have just suffered catastrophic events. This book was the ending I needed! This book and this series is so epic and so emotion-evoking, that this will give you a hangover. This book is so well written that you will feel ALL THE FEELS along with the characters.

One side note: there is some time jumping (prior events to today and back again) which normally would throw me off but it’s CRITICAL to this story and works beautifully!

I cannot express my love for this series and D. Kelly for reaching out so I could experience this and Amelia and the BAD members.

5 stars!

Blog Tour ~ New Moon ~ by ~ Lisa Kessler

Title: New Moon
Series: The Moon Series
Author: Lisa Kessler
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Release Date: June 19, 2017

Sometimes Fate plays dirty…

Jaguar shifter Sebastian Severino is an enigma. He lives alone, works alone, and will die alone. But the night he’s attacked by a female werewolf, nothing will ever be the same. And when his young niece is kidnapped, Sebastian, the deadliest assassin Nero has ever produced, will be forced to choose a side…

Isabelle Wood has never taken the easy path. As a bounty hunter and now a bitten werewolf without a mate, she’s searching for answers to her father’s disappearance while helping to lead an Alphaless Pack. The night she gets the opportunity to take out their enemy, with her blade at his throat, her wolf discovers her mate in the last person she can be with.

I didn’t take the elevator down. The stairs were more private. That asshole had pointed a goddamn gun at me. He’d cocked it. And still my wolf was howling, crying out for her mate. I wanted to scream. The farther I got from him, the worse my heart ached.

Maybe the wolf would mellow out in time. I’d run back to my place, pack, and hit the road for Reno without ever looking back.

That was probably Sebastian’s plan from the beginning. He was a master manipulator. I had to give him that.

I hustled past the valet to the self-parking lot in the shadows. Inside my car, I blew out a pent-up breath and put the key in the ignition. Before I could start the engine, a hand tapped on my window.

There was Sebastian, shirtless, his dark eyes locked on mine. “Wait.”

He didn’t yell. He didn’t need to for my keen ears to hear him. Without moving a muscle, I asked, “Why? Give me one good reason.”

He put his hands up and slowly knelt to my level. “I don’t have one.”

I glared at him through the glass. “You’ll have to do better than that.”

He clenched his teeth but didn’t break eye contact. “I want…damn it.” He looked toward the back of the car.

I pressed the button, lowering my window, his scent intoxicating me. “You pulled your gun on me.”

His gaze snapped to my face. “And you didn’t defend yourself.”

“If you wanted me dead, you wouldn’t make a bloody mess in a hotel room, and besides, you didn’t have a silencer on it.” I shook my head slowly. “You’re too good to be sloppy.”

“How do you…”

I rolled my eyes. “How do I what?”

“Understand me.” He searched my face—for what, I had no clue. His voice was barely a whisper. “I was trying to protect you.”

“By aiming a gun at me?” I clucked my tongue. “That’s not usually how it works.”

He struggled to bite back a smile, and butterflies fluttered in my stomach. When he wasn’t a deadly asshole, he was way too handsome. He lifted his head, and his dark hair fell into his face. The smile was gone. Hunger burned in his eyes.

“My father ordered a hit on the last woman I cared about, simply to remind me he had the power.”

My heart thumped in my chest. “What does that have to do with pointing a loaded gun at me?”

“I was too weak to tell you to leave, so I let the gun do it for me. You’re in danger if you keep digging into Nero. I was trying to keep you safe.”

A laugh escaped my lips before I could stop it. “You’re obviously much better at killing than protecting.”

He nodded slowly. “True.”

“None of this explains why you’re out here shirtless asking me not to drive away.”

“Because…” He shook his head, staring at the pavement. “It doesn’t make sense.” He straightened up and took a step back from my car.

Damn, even in the dim lighting his muscled torso distracted me, the shadows accentuating every curve and angle.

“Until you stabbed me, I was excellent at”—he held up his right hand, extending a finger for each point—“lying, determining a course of action, and distancing myself from the job at hand.”

“And now?” I raised a brow.

“Now…” He groaned, cursing under his breath. His gaze met mine. “I’m confused and indecisive. I fucking hate it, and it could get us both killed.”

“I’m not sure what you want from me, but I’m not going to apologize.”

“An apology isn’t what I want.” He ground his teeth, his voice a hoarse whisper. “I’ve shielded you from my father for years, but now…I want you, Isabelle. And that could cost you your life. I came to say I lied to my father today, not to you. I couldn’t let you drive away without knowing. You were never a pawn. Not to me.”

About TROUBLE

A high school reunion is about to get down and dirty and a whole lot more complicated in this new romance from USA Today bestselling author Avery Flynn.

Brains and a badass attitude. That’s all troublemaker Leah Camacho took with her when she left Catfish Creek. She’d promised herself she’d never go back, but when the invite to her tenth high school reunion arrived along with the chance to show everyone who doubted her what a success she’s made of herself, she couldn’t resist. However, when she discovers a 15-carat, stolen diamond in her rental car’s glove box, there’s only one man she can turn to for help—the same sexy, stubborn domineering man who’d smashed her heart all those years ago.

Sheriff Drew Jackson knew a long time ago that Leah Camacho was nothing but trouble and has sworn to never get caught up in her again—no matter how damn sexy she is or how badly he’d failed to forget her. But, when the woman who test drove his heart right into a concrete wall rolls into Catfish Creek with some serious bad guys on her tail, it’s up to him to keep her safe—even if that means guarding her hot bod 24/7 without giving into temptation or losing his mind.

Read an Excerpt from TROUBLE

Drew stood in the kitchen doorway wearing a scowl and a very tiny blue towel slung low across his hips. Water droplets clung to his chest and Leah watched, unable to look away, as one drop made the downward trek across his hard abs to disappear behind the towel. It was enough to make her brain short out.

“What in the hell was that?” Drew asked, stalking toward her.

She swallowed past the sand pit in her mouth and—out of a sense of primal survival desperation—moved so the small, round kitchen table was between them. It wasn’t that she was afraid of him. More like she was afraid of what she wanted to do when she was near him—every dirty thing she could possibly imagine.

“I’m moving things ahead.”

He glanced down at the table and back up at her with a knowing smirk. “And how were you doing that?”

Her cheeks burned. Damn it. Why was it always like this with him? Taking a deep breath, she clicked together her bad attitude, using it as a shield against his cocky charms. “I called in a favor to get more information about the Rhinestone Cowboys.”

He spread his legs wide and crossed his arms over his broad chest. “You don’t need to know more.”

His stance couldn’t have screamed “I strong man, you weak woman” any more if he tried.

This wasn’t how she worked. She wasn’t about to entrust her life to some random FBI agents who were more concerned with catching the man in charge rather than keeping her safe. And Drew? She might be physically safe with him, but emotionally was a whole other story.

“I’m not going to sit around Catfish Creek and wait for those two goons to make their move.”

“That’s the stupid plan the Feds came up with and you agreed to.” He shoved his hand through his wet hair, making it stand up as he rounded the table to her side.

Her pulse picked up as he neared and desire warm and slick sent a shiver of anticipation through her body. She couldn’t control her body’s reaction to him and it pissed her off as much as it turned her on. He really was the one man she’d never been able to stop herself from wanting, which is exactly why she had to fight against it so hard.

“I’m not going to sit back and wait for the other shoe to drop. That’s not the way I roll.”

“No, you just roll over everything in your path without any thought about the consequences.”

“All the more reason why I can’t wait for the Feds to do their job.” Frustration over the situation and her body’s reaction to the half naked man in front of her, she pushed past him, her only goal being to get out of the kitchen before she did something she’d regret, “I’m going to get ready. Until I know my next move I have to act like everything’s normal. That means picking up my high school reunion welcome packet and saying hi to all the bitches who think I slept my way through the entire varsity football roster and the assholes who started that rumor in the first place.”

“If that’s the way you feel about coming to the reunion then why are you even here?” he asked.

She could pretend she’d come back to Catfish Creek to flip her classmates the bird but that was a lie, she realized in a rush. She’d come back to see him.

“Why come back?” she asked. “To see if anything had changed.”

Tied Up in Heartstrings (Heartstrings, #1)

PURCHASE NOW ON AMAZON

Other links coming soon!

Blurb:

I thought my life would forever be defined by tragedy.

The happily ever after I thought I had, ended prematurely and painfully.

My daughter and I were stuck in a fog of self-preservation, afraid to believe that there wasn’t more pain waiting for us in the ‘real world’.

Just the thought of allowing myself to embrace happiness and take a risk in order to feel that all-consuming love again is terrifying.

And I’m not sure I would be able to survive if it all went away again.

But… what choice do I have when I’m tied up in these heartstrings?

I could cut the ties and run.

Or I could take a chance on someone that my heart once yearned for and hope that he knows how to untangle the fear that holds my heart hostage.

Mending Heartstrings (Heartstrings, #2)

Pre-order for .99 cents! Coming June 27

PURCHASE ON AMAZON

Blurb:

Just when my life seemed manageable, I’m thrown radically off course by “the one”.
“The one” I wasn’t expecting.
“The one” I never knew I wanted.
“The one” who single handedly holds the key to the tattered lock safeguarding my heart. Letting someone into my protected sanctuary will only serve one purpose – intentional infliction of pain and heartache… and I’m positive I’m not capable of handling that.

New Rules:
1. Avoid LOVE at all costs.
2. No complications.
3. I will not become ‘dick’matized by the hotshot guitarist. It was only a no-strings attached weekend.
4. The lyrics he writes may seem magical, but it’s a façade. Lyrics can’t mend broken heartstrings – no matter how strong my heart swells with his words.

Phantom Heartstrings (Heartstrings, #3)

Pre-order for .99 cents! Coming July 4

PURCHASE ON AMAZON

Blurb:

Love comes easy to some. It came easy to me. Loving him was never an issue. Appreciating him was as easy as breathing. Years of living a life of what others viewed as perfection gave me the security I thought was most valuable.

My marriage to Drake is symbolic of what others fight for, yet living in the glass house of perfection is the biggest challenge of my life. Life isn’t always what it seems. People change. Everyone has demons they fight and fighting them in secret to avoid letting others down takes its toll.

Love came easy, but maintaining it is a whole different game. I thought the happily ever after would be the end of the story. That wasn’t the case. There’s so much more. It’s only so long before the glass house of perfection is clouded with buried secrets.

Can we overcome this and get back to a place of true happiness, or will I always feel like I’m perfecting my acting skills to save face? Can I ever find the ending to this fairy tale life I wanted so desperately?

READ AN EXCERPT FROM HYDE’S ABSOLUTION

I tore my attention from Hyde and gave it back to Tatum when she said, “I’ll call you tomorrow.”

Hyde’s presence had pretty much wiped all coherent thought from my mind, so I simply nodded and murmured, “Okay.”

As she and Nitro walked away from us, Hyde moved closer. His scent almost hypnotised me, if that was even possible. Looking down at me, he said, “What are you drinking?” The husky tone of his voice was like the final nail in my coffin. He could lead me down the path to sin with that voice.

“A cosmo please.”

He turned to the waiting bartender and ordered drinks before shifting his gaze back to me. His body was so damn close it almost pressed against mine. His eyes dropped to my chest. “You weren’t made to be subtle, were you, sugar?”

“Can’t say that word’s in my vocabulary, no.” The way he was devouring my body told me I’d made the best decision when I bought the black dress I wore tonight. Knee length with a plunging neckline and accentuated with a belt around my waist, it clung to every curve I had. My girls were up and proudly out, just the way I liked them. I mean, if you had it, flaunt it, right? And I’d had the red in my hair touched up that afternoon. It hung in lazy vivid red curls to just below my breasts. I wasn’t sure which part of me he thought wasn’t subtle, but I guessed it had something to do with my dress by the way he seemed unable to draw his gaze from my body.

Finally he found his way back up to my face. The heat flashing in his eyes shot a round of lust through my veins. Good God, this man, though. I wondered if he had any idea of the storm he caused within me. “Don’t ever add it.” If what he said didn’t make my legs sway a little, the forceful, gravelly way he said it did.

The bartender placed our drinks on the counter, distracting us from each other. Hyde dropped some cash on the bar, took a mouthful of his whisky and looked back at me while I got down as much of my drink as I could in one mouthful. God knew, I needed it. I could stand my ground with any man, but Hyde had a way of catching me off guard.

“You calm down after that thing about owing me money this morning?” And there he went, flipping my feelings about him on their head.

I fixed him with a look that let him know I wasn’t impressed. “I didn’t have anything to calm down from.”

“You seemed all worked up about it.”

I threw some more of my cocktail down my throat. “I wasn’t.” But I was getting there now, that was for sure.

He drank some more whisky, keeping his eyes steady on mine. “Okay.”

Okay? Oh no he didn’t. He didn’t get to end a conversation with that bullshit. “Okay? Seriously, you’re going to end with that?”

“It seemed pointless to argue.”

I finished my drink and placed the empty glass down with some force. Sliding off my stool, I said, “We weren’t arguing. I was simply telling you like it was.”

“Yeah, I’ve picked that up about you.”

My eyes practically popped out of their sockets. “Picked up what about me?”

“That you like to tell men like it is.”

“I do not! You just have this way of pushing my buttons. I feel like it’s you, not me.”

His lips twitched. “Sugar, if I knew which buttons I was pushing, I’d push them some more. I never said I didn’t like the way you told me how it was.”

I snatched my bag off the bar. I needed a moment to get my thoughts under control. In the space of seconds I’d switched from wanting him to wanting to smack him to wanting him again. My mind needed a break from the whiplash. I took a step away from the bar and said, “I’ll have another cosmo.”

Without waiting for his response, I headed in the direction of the ladies room. I’d almost made it there when a hand slid around my waist and I was pushed up against the wall in the dark hallway. A hard body pushed against mine as the hand around my waist slid down to settle on my ass and warm breath whispered across my cheek. “My cock likes that attitude of yours. Surprised the fuck outta me, but I can’t deny I want more of it.”

The proof of his statement ground against me, sparking need all over me. Every inch of my skin blazed with desire. I gripped his shirt with both hands and found his eyes. “You and I weren’t made for each other, Hyde.”

“I’m not saying we were.”

My body went to war with my mind. It fought me kicking and screaming, desperate for what he was offering, but I didn’t want to surrender. “So what’s the point of starting something?”

He pushed his cock harder against me. “I came here against better judgement tonight. Nitro told me you’d be here and I came because I couldn’t, for the fucking life of me, get you out of my head. I want my hands on those curves of yours and my dick as far inside you as you can take it.”

TBRreview

I think Hyde might be my new favorite! He’s hot, possessive, sweet, troubled and just trying to be a good father. I don’t know how Monroe resisted him as long as she did. I wouldn’t have been able to!

Hyde has come back after 14 years away from his wife and daughter. He’s coming to right wrongs from his past and be a father to his (not quite so young) daughter. He sees Monroe and she’s just his type, except she wants a relationship. And Hyde just might be the perfect man for her. Except he has demons from his past he needs to handle before he can commit himself.

Another amazing Sydney Storm MC book! Always an adventure reading along with this MC!

Book One in the new Sydney Storm MC series.

A biker torn between loyalty to his club and love for his woman.

I let Evie Bishop go once. I won’t make that mistake again.

I’ve loved Evie since we were kids, before I found the Storm MC.

They say life can change in an instant…

She appears to have it all: a loving family, a dream job in one of L.A.’s hottest eateries, and a gorgeous boyfriend dying to slip an engagement ring on her finger. So why does she feel so empty, like she’s looking for a missing piece she can’t find?

The answer comes when a lawyer tracks down Quinn and reveals a bombshell secret and a mysterious inheritance that only she can claim. This shocking revelation washes over Quinn like a tidal wave. Her whole life has been a lie.

On impulse, Quinn gives up her job, home, and boyfriend. She heads up the coast to the small hometown of Wildstone, California, which is just a few hours north, but feels worlds apart from Los Angeles. Though she doesn’t quite fit in right away, she can’t help but be drawn to the town’s simple pleasures…and the handsome, dark-haired stranger who offers friendship with no questions asked.

As Quinn settles into Wildstone, she discovers there’s another surprise in store for her. The inheritance isn’t a house or money, but rather something earth shattering, something that will make her question everything she thought she knew about herself, about her family. Now with a world of possibilities opening up to Quinn, she must decide if this new life is the one she was always meant to have—and the one that could finally give her the fulfillment she’s searched so long for.

Excerpt:

Coop whined and Mick looked down at the twelve-year-old golden retriever, ball in his mouth. Coop panted happily and dropped the ball at Mick’s feet, his rheumy brown eyes ever hopeful.

Mick shook his head. “Last time I threw it, you decided you didn’t mean it.”

Coop gave a talkative “woo woo woo.”

Translation: Mick was full of shit. “I had to go get it myself,” he reminded the dog. “Remember that?”

This bought him another “woo woo woo.”

“Okay, okay.” Mick picked up the ball, and because there was a lot of old-man dog pride on the line here, he gave it a dramatic throw, making sure it went only about twenty feet.

Coop gave an energetic leap. A single energetic leap. After that, he eyeballed the sea of sand ahead of him, huffed out a sigh, and sat. Then he craned his big, fuzzy golden head and gave Mick a sad-eyed look.

“Are you kidding me?” Mick asked him.

Coop lay down, set his head on his front paws, and stared forlornly out at the ball that his brain wanted to chase but his sore joints and tired body wouldn’t allow. It was a daily reminder for the dog, who in his own mind clearly wasn’t elderly, forgetful, or more than half deaf. Nope, in Coop’s opinion, he was still a rambunctious, energetic puppy.

Mick blew out a sigh and fetched the damn ball. When he came back, the dog sat up, eyes bright, tongue lolling.

“Not a chance,” Mick said on a laugh. “I’m not throwing it again. This was about your exercise, not mine. I already had my run today.”

A Lexus pulled up. A woman sat behind the wheel and stared out at the dunes and the ocean. All Mick could see of her was a cloud of whiskey-colored waves of hair and a pale face. She stared at the water and then set her head to the steering wheel and banged it a few times.

Then, head still down, she went utterly still.

Coop whined about the ball and nudged Mick’s knee, eyes pleading.

With a head shake, Mick threw the ball five feet.

Coop happily pounced on it.

While his dog pranced around proudly, ball in his mouth, Mick turned back to the car. The woman hadn’t moved. Had she knocked herself out? Was she still breathing? “What do you think?” he asked Coop. “Stay out of it, or ask her if she’s okay?”

Coop, who’d never been impressed by a single one of the women in Mick’s social life, yawned.

“Right,” he said. “Stay out of it.”

But the woman suddenly sat up straight and fumbled her way out of the car, falling to her knees on the rough gravelly asphalt, gulping in air like she was suffocating.

Realizing she was hyperventilating, Mick rushed to her and crouched at her side, having to push Coop back from making her acquaintance—which he tended to do with a rude nose push to the crotch. “Stay,” he ordered and looked the woman over.

Young. Late twenties maybe. Definitely having a panic attack of some kind. Not touching her, he spoke quietly and calmly. “Take a deep breath through your nose.”

She had to quiet herself to hear him, but she did as he said. She took a deep breath, shuddery as it was.

“Good,” he said, still holding Coop back from trying to say hello. “Stay.”

“What?” she gasped.

“Sorry, not you. My nosy-ass dog. Keep breathing. That’s it,” he said when she worked at it.

When she had it under control, she met his gaze, her own eyes hooded and clearly embarrassed. “I’m sorry.”

“Don’t be.”

Coop, tired of being held back, shoved his big old head between them and licked her from chin to forehead. Mick palmed the dog’s face and pushed his head away from the woman whose shoulders were now shaking.

Aw, hell. He patted his pockets—for what, he had no idea. It wasn’t like he carried tissues or napkins on him to offer her. He rose to his feet to go search the truck, which was when she lifted her face and he saw that she was shaking with laughter, not tears.

She was laughing at his ridiculous dog.
