Every time I saw this title, I immediately sang “Sugar Sugar” in my head. And then I think of Now and Then and want to watch that movie. But almost everything I do makes me think of a song.

Beau is the bad boy of the country music world. So much so that he needs a “babysitter” or so he calls it. Addy is his handler for Hard Candy records until they’re sure he can behave. And Addy is definitely someone he wouldn’t mind handling him.

Addy already knows that Beau is going to be a menace, even if he is amazingly attractive. She knows herself well and knows that getting involved with someone like Beau will not go well for her and that’s why she has to be nothing but business.

I have LOVED Mandi Beck’s writing and can’t wait for more! Her characters are deep and feeling and a joy to read!

Elliott might be my favorite. Of course Scarlett Cole’s books are often like that where each story makes me love that main character more than the last. Each of Scarlett Cole’s characters are amazing but flawed in a way that makes them real. Each guy isn’t Prince Charming and that’s just one of many things I love about her stories!

Elliott is the lead guitarist for Preload and has had a rough life. But he’s found ways to deal with it. Well sort of. But when he and the band are asked to appear as a Make a Wish like request. While walking the halls, Elliott wanders into Kendalee’s son’s room and they hit it off. Plus Elliott likes Kendalee.

Kendalee is a part-time grocery clerk who is now homeless and is spending all her time at the hospital with her son. Elliott walks in and besides being famous, he’s great with her son. And can get him to open up.

Another great Scarlett Cole book! I can’t wait to see whose story is next. I love these guys and their beautiful but flawed selves.

Tillie is the “wild child” of Millie and Tillie. Nathan has known Millie and Tillie for years and has been around to try and keep Tillie out of trouble – a noble and impossible task. Ok I read all of these novellas and besides bringing back some of my favorite characters, it made me SO ready for Fall! But that could be the 100+ temperatures for a week… Either way, this was a fantastic read!

Each story didn’t feel like a novella to me because I just got so sucked in as soon as I started a story. I got to see a peek from each of my favorite couples, have some laughs and get a nice little epilogue of their lives together. A great holiday read!

The afternoon passed quickly. Alan stayed with Catherine, the beauty team arrived and did their thing. At five, the ushers were seating the guests, and at five forty-five, the beautiful bride walked down the aisle. Pallas stood in the back next to Alan as they watched the ceremony move smoothly forward.

“See,” he whispered. “It’s fine.”

“You were right.”

“Three of my favorite words. I’m going to make you repeat them again and again.”

Pallas left to check on the catering. Silver had her trailer set up and was mixing the signature drinks; the bride’s specially hired DJ had already started setting up his equipment. Nick, who only needed to be a courtier for the procession, had already changed back into street clothes.

“Feeling better?” he asked.

“Much. I still think the server costumes are a little slutty, but that wasn’t my call. We have food, we have drinks, we have music.” She glanced over to where the DJ had set up his equipment. “I’m going to start breathing more deeply now.”

“Good.” Nick put his arm around her. “Want me to take your picture with the zebras?”

“Maybe later. Do they seem calm? They were tense when they arrived.”

“I gave them valium. They’re fine.”

She spun toward him and grabbed his arm. “Don’t joke about that. I mean it. I’m one crisis away from snapping.”

Pallas returned to the main building and waited for the service to end. She made sure everyone made their way to the reception area and was grateful when Catherine gave her a thumb’s-up.

While the wedding party took postceremony pictures, Pallas made sure the guests had plenty to drink and that the appetizers were circulating briskly. She was so focused on that she almost didn’t hear the loud shrieks from the far side of the open area. Almost.

“Oh no! They’re loose.”

Pallas hurried to the gates just in time to see three zebras running down the road.

“Should have let me drug them,” Nick murmured as Carol and Cade got in his truck and hurried after them. Pallas spotted four teenage boys laughing by the temporary fencing. She narrowed her gaze and started toward them.

He’s pressured by his father to fall in line and become the next Executive Vice President in the family business but he just wants to play football, for as long as he can. Except suddenly when Elle breaks up with him, he’s having the worst time playing football. And he needs his mojo back and he’s convinced it’s related to Elle.

Elle has too many other worries to worry about the football player she had helping to de-stress herself. But she can’t deny that she does miss having him around at times…

A great book that gives you more of a look into Tass and Hunter and getting to know Henry and Elle’s story.

Amber’s Review

I loved this one just as much as Delivery Girl. And you might recognize some of the same characters. But this one was funny but not as constantly funny as DG. But a very enjoyable read!!

Jocelyn is the cold-hearted lady agent in the sports world. She’s known to be tough as nails or even the Ice Queen. And she’s proud of her position. But she won’t let love mess up her life. She’s determined to get Boxer signed on as her newest client. She’s willing to become friends with him first, as he requests, but she finds herself truly liking Boxer.

Oh and his daughter Charli is stinkin’ adorable!!!! I love that little girl and I’ve never met her!

I can’t wait for more!! I hope it’s Lindsay’s story??

“Oh God, don’t do that.”

“Do what?”

“That.” He pointed toward my mouth. “Everything I told you in Vegas is still true. You’re still gorgeous, still sexy as hell, still everything that draws me in like a damned magnet, but you’re also everything I can’t have. Don’t you get that? When you pull shit like that on the dance floor, you successfully drive me batshit crazy, watching you in some guy’s arms.” A small laugh escaped him. “Like that kid has any idea what to do with you if he actually managed to catch you.”

“And you do?”

His eyes darkened. “Don’t challenge me like that.”

The tension stretched between us for a quiet moment until I broke the silence. “I didn’t kiss him.”

“I’m well aware, because if you had, I’m not sure if I could have let him walk out of here, and that’s dangerous, Penelope. You are dangerous to me.”

“I’m sorry,” I said truthfully. “Logically, I know nothing can happen between us. I get it. But I see you, and all I can think about is the way you kissed me in Vegas. The way you touched me. I can’t just erase those memories, Cruz. Like I said, somehow you make me do stupid things.”

“You? I make you do stupid things?” he nearly yelled, and I was thankful for the loud, driving beat of the music beyond the office doors. “Woman, I got into a strange car for you. Illegally BASE jumped off a Ferris wheel to stay close to you. Went to jail for you, and I make you do stupid things?”

He stalked forward, his movements smooth like a predator, and a low hum filled my stomach, growing stronger with every step he took.

“I let you stay in my class. Stupid. I look for every reason to run into you, while simultaneously praying you’ll stay far away because I need this job. Stupid. I take one look at you in that fucking dress, and I’m so hard I’m afraid I can’t hide it in a room full of students. Stupid. I can’t stop thinking about the way you taste, the way you open up under me, the way your nails left little half-moons in my shoulders when I found how wet you were for me.”

If he got his hands anywhere near me, he’d find out I was just as wet now. God, his words were the biggest turn-on I’d ever experienced. Next to his abs. Or his arms. Or his mouth. Crap, the man was one giant sex package begging to be unwrapped.

Penna and Cruz are fire!! I love them! And Cruz!! OMG!! This will be a book I need to hear in audio I think just to hear his Cuban accent as he’s talking. I love the Renegade books and will definitely be one-clicking as the series continues!!

After the events from Wilder and Nova (read them if you wanna know), Penna is rightfully frightened of getting back on a bike. She needs to find her rebellious spirit that she had as being a Renegade Original member.

Cruz (Dr Delgado) has worked hard for his PhD. He’s spent years working his way through school to get his degree and help his family. What he didn’t count on was Penna and how much she fascinates him.
