Holy wow! This book had a little bit of everything for anyone. Suspense, mystery, action, romance. All of it. Kate is literally running for her life – but I won’t tell you why – when her car breaks down. Which is the last thing a girl on the run needs. She meets Ryker who works at the car shop and is a straight shooter wrapped up in a manwhore lifestyle.

This book was like a movie! I feel like I could watch this in the theater for all the different twists and turns this book had.

Great debut for a new Indie author!

SO much happens in this book! Scarlett is just happy with her life, housekeeping at a hotel in Las Vegas, one night stands randomly, and living with her best friend. Until Rhett. Scarlett & Rhett – go figure :-).

Rhett is a UFC fighter who is almost struck dumb when he sees Scarlett. He is immediately enamored of her and wants a date – or more. Scarlett doesn’t DO relationships or dating and that’s exactly what Rhett wants.

This is quite the battle of wills between these two. Add in previous events that still affect them today and you’ve got quite the story!

Anyone who knows me could tell you, I am a friendly kind of person, never met a stranger and take up conversations anywhere at any time. I work hard, and my mind never seems to shut down, as I wake up often in the middle of the night with ideas pouring out and demanding to be dealt with. Poor Jay has lived through quite a lot and picked herself up and moved on. Until she finds out her newest assignment means working with the man who broke her.

“I can’t believe how late it is,” Tinker said, yawning, and I realized the movie had ended. Now she stretched upward, the blanket falling to her waist as her boobs pushed forward.

God, how much should a man be expected to take?

I should’ve stayed away from her completely—that’d been the plan—but something had snapped when I’d seen her out in the courtyard. Couldn’t remember the last time I’d met a woman like Tinker. She was smart and sexy and funny, and she worked damned hard to take care of her family and business. Sure, I wanted to fuck her—you’d have to be gay not to—but I respected her, too.

“I should probably get going,” she said, offering me a smile so sweet I wanted to bite her lips. “I like to check on Dad before going to sleep, and I’ve got to be up early in the morning. I’ve got to package orders for the courier tomorrow—if they aren’t ready by two p.m., I’m screwed.”

I considered rolling over on top of her. Pushing her down into the couch cushions, shoving my leg between hers, and showing her what a real man feels like.

“Cooper?” she asked, looking confused. I blinked a couple times, forcing myself to focus on her face.

“I’m going to watch another one,” I told her, because I’m a goddamn masochist. “You sure you’re ready to head out?”

She frowned, and I could almost read her thoughts. Yes, she should leave. But she wanted me as much as I wanted her. And yeah, I realize that makes me sound like an egotistical ass, but this wasn’t my first rodeo. I saw the lust in her eyes, and the way she licked her lips and stared at my mouth. This wasn’t a one-way street, not even close.

“I guess I could stay a little longer,” she whispered. Christ, she was so sweet and soft. I wanted to bite her even more now. Suck that pouty lower lip into my mouth and shove a finger up her ass.

Break her.

You’re one sick fuck.

I managed to control the urge, catching her hand instead, giving it a friendly squeeze like some kind of pathetic tool. Her fingers tightened on mine, then she pulled away and snuggled back down under the blanket, raising her feet to rest on the coffee table. I grabbed the remote and clicked through the menu.

Tomorrow I’d do my job. I’d fuck Talia and spy on Marsh and look for any kind of weakness that might end this situation, the faster the better. Tonight, though . . . Tonight I’d pretend this wasn’t a waste of time.

Goddamn, but my dick hurt.

The next hour was torture.

Tinker sat next to me, all cute and classy and absolutely refusing to make any kind of eye contact. I don’t know how she felt, but to me the sexual tension hanging in the air was thick and heavy. I kept thinking about her hand in mine—small, but strong. The hand of someone who knew how to work hard. So far as I knew, Talia had never held down a job, let alone supported herself.

The couch shifted, and I glanced over to find Tinker sliding deeper into the cushions, drawing the blanket up to her chin. Our legs were maybe six inches apart. She shifted again, and then her hand bumped mine under the blanket. She jerked it back quickly, and I caught the hint of a flush on her cheeks. That was another thing I liked about her—her skin was so pale that I could see every hint of arousal.

Grabbing her hand, I pulled it over to rest on my thigh. This was a really bad idea, so I pointedly refused to think it through. Her hand tensed at first, then relaxed into my strength. My cock swelled against the fabric of my jeans, just inches from her fingers—it’d be so easy to push her hand toward it, wrap it around my painfully swollen dick, and just go to town.

Tinker’s fingers gave a quick squeeze—almost more of a spasm—and I bit back a groan.

Yeah, okay. Really, really bad idea. I should get off the couch and shut this shit down right now, because I couldn’t afford to blow things with Talia just yet. Instead I found myself leaning toward Tinker, bumping shoulders.

God.

I’d grown a pussy. No other explanation, because I couldn’t figure out why the hell else an adult man would sit holding hands under a damned blanket like a kid.

If you haven’t read any of the Reaper’s MC series, GO! DO THAT NOW!!! While you don’t have to have read the other books in the series, it’s still a good idea to, just so you have a whole history on the club and the members. Plus Horse and Marie’s story is SUCH a great start – thinking about re-reading it again actually….

Back to Tinker and Gage’s story. Gage moves into town to get close to the local MC (the Nighthawks) and “spy” on them for the Reapers’ – his actual club. Rumor has it that the President is running the club into the ground and possibly taking money from the Reapers. That cannot happen.

Tinker (can I tell you how much fun I have saying that in my head?) runs the local candy/chocolate shop while she’s taking care of her father that seems to suffer from Alzheimer’s. Tinker provides Cooper (Gage) with the perfect cover – handyman – and a place to live while doing surveillance of the Nighthawks.

Tinker and Gage are amazingly hot for each other even though Gage has a girlfriend, Tinker is still married but the chemistry Tinker and Gage have is undeniable…

I highly recommend this book! If you love MCs, you love strong, alpha males and strong women, read this!

Holy cow wow!

Hard Rules is an AMAZING start to what I’m sure will be an AMAZING series! Know up front, this ends in a cliffhanger to end all cliffhangers but it’s such an awesome buildup!

The Brandon family is like Shane says repeatedly, Eff’d up. Royally. You don’t know who you can or can’t trust. I was constantly revising “whodunit” in my head because each time I had it figured out, something changed.

I’m not going to tell you too much about the relationship that Shane and Emily have other than it being pretty all-consuming, which is hard when Shane is trying to fix his family empire.

I can’t wait for more!!!

“Up, Yasmeen.”

That’s what she thought. She shoved her arms in the air, and he pulled the soft cotton over her head. She looked down at the logo across her chest. “You went to Princeton?”

“I went to Princeton. I also spent some time at Oxford.”

“In England?”

“Is there another?”

“Not that could handle that attitude, no.” He gave her a warning look that she took head on. “Don’t look at me like that. Your arrogance is astounding. The girls must have followed you around with their panties in the air.”

“As I am sure the boys at NYU followed behind you holding their dicks in their hands.”

She grimaced. “No, they didn’t.”

“Yes, my pet. They did. Believe me. If you did not witness it, they were being discreet. I would guarantee hundreds of men have come on their shower walls to thoughts of you on your knees before them.”

“Lucian. Don’t be disgusting.”

He gave her an exasperated look. “That is not disgusting. If I were to see you masturbate, I would be enthralled.”

“Yes, but that’s someone you’re attracted to. I’d be all eyes if I watched you, too. But to think of other men doing it makes me a little vomity.”

“For masturbating to a mental image of you.”

She tipped her head and nodded as if it was dense of him to confirm.

“You are a strikingly beautiful woman. You must know men wonder what it must be like to fuck you the minute they see you. When I saw you for the first time, I was staggered by your beauty. I have never experienced the sensation of having my breath taken. You accomplished that without batting an eye.”

She couldn’t deny hearing she hadn’t been the only one affected like that made her feel great. But looks were looks, and they’d eventually go. “So your first thought was to have sex with me?”

A shadow passed over his features. “No. My first thought was to do what I have now done.”

“Have sex with me.”

“Steal you.”

Her eyes flared. “You thought to steal me? That night?”

“I fought myself throughout our meal. By the time you got up to use the restroom, I’d considered a variety of ways I could imprison you, right down to purchasing a small island and allowing you to roam freely but with no actual way of escape.”

He bent and kissed her throat before nudging her toward the sitting area. “Sit.”

She slowly walked over, trying to get her head around the fact that he’d wanted to do this to her two years ago. That meant Markus’s murder hadn’t created her crazy man, it had just prodded him out into the open. When she reached the loveseat and turned to sit, he was gone.

My order appears and I
straighten, intending to claim my coffee and find a seat, when a pretty
twenty-something brunette races forward in a puff of sweet, floral-scented
perfume, and grabs it.

“Miss,” I begin, “that’s—”

She takes a sip and
grimaces. “What is this?” She turns to the counter. “Excuse me,” she calls out.
“My drink is wrong.”

“Because it’s not your
drink,” Karen reprimands her, setting a new cup on the counter. “This is your drink.” She reaches
for my cup and turns it around, pointing to the name scribbled on the side.
“This one’s for Shane.” She glances at me. “I’ll be right back to fix this. I
have another customer.”

I wave my acknowledgment
and she hurries away, while my floral-scented coffee thief faces me, her
porcelain cheeks flushed, her full, really damn distracting mouth, painted
pink. “I’m so sorry,” she offers quickly. “I thought I was the only one without
my coffee and I was in a hurry.” She starts to hand me my coffee and then
quickly sets it on the counter. “You can’t have that. I drank out of it.”

“I saw that,” I say,
picking it up. “You grimaced with disgust after trying it.”

Her eyes, a pale blue that
matches the short-sleeved silk blouse, go wide. “Oh. I mean no. Or I did, but
not because it’s a bad cup of coffee. It’s just very strong.”

“It’s a triple-shot latte.”

“A triple,” she says,
looking quite serious. “Did you know that in some third- world countries they
bottle that stuff and sell it as a way to grow hair on your chest.” She lowers
her voice and whispers, “That’s not a good look for me.”

“Fortunately,” I say in the
midst of a chuckle I would have claimed wasn’t possible five minutes ago, “I
don’t share that dilemma.” I lift my cup and add, “Cheers,” before taking a
drink, the heavy, rich flavor sliding over my tongue.

She pales, looking
exceedingly uncomfortable, before repeating, “I drank from that cup.”

“I know,” I say, offering
it back to her. “Try another drink.”

She takes the cup and sets
it on the counter. “I can’t drink that. And you can’t either.” She points to
the hole on top, now smudged pink. “My lipstick is all over it and I really
hate to tell you this but it’s all over you too and . . .” She laughs, a soft,
sexy sound, her hands settling on her slender, but curvy hips, accented by a
fitted black skirt. “Sorry. I don’t mean to laugh, but it’s not a good shade
for you.”

I laugh now too, officially
and impossibly charmed by this woman in spite of being in the middle of what
feels like World War III. “Seems you know how to make a lasting impression.”

“Thankfully it’s not
lasting,” she says. “It’ll wipe right off. And thank you for being such a good
sport. I really am sorry again for all of this.”

“Apologize by getting it
off me.”

Confusion puckers her brow.
“What?”

“You put it on me.” I grab
a napkin from the counter and offer it to her. “You get it off.”

“I put it on the cup,” she
says, clearly recovering her quick wit. “You put it on you.”

“I assure you, that had I
put it on me, we both would have enjoyed it much more than we are now.” I
glance at the napkin.

“Are you going to help me?”

Her cheeks flush and she
hugs herself, her sudden shyness an intriguing contrast to her confident
banter. “I’ll let you know if you don’t get it all.”

My apparently lipstick-
stained lips curve at her quick wit but I take the napkin and wipe my mouth,
arching a questioning brow when I’m done. She points to the corner of my mouth.
“A little more on the left.”

I hand her the napkin. “You do it.”

She inhales, as if for
courage, but takes it. “Fine,” she says, stepping closer, that wicked sweet
scent of hers teasing my nostrils. Wasting no time, she reaches for my mouth,
her body swaying in my direction while my hand itches to settle at her waist. I
want this woman and I’m not letting her get away.

“There,” she says, her arm
lowering, and not about to let her escape, I capture her hand, holding it and
the napkin between us.

Those gorgeous pale blue eyes of hers dart to mine,
wide with surprise, the connection sparking an unmistakable charge between us…
