Release Day Blitz ~ Tormented ~ by ~ Max Henry

Title: Tormented
Series: Fallen Aces MC #3
Author: Max Henry
Genre:  MC Romance
Release Date: December 12, 2016

She’s perfect.

And broken, like you …
Unaware of how beautiful she is.

And how much worse her life could be …
She’s cast out for being different, misunderstood, or simply too complicated to bother with.

Just. Like. You …
She’s still perfect.

Because after all, you can’t break what’s already broken, and you can’t hurt what already suffers.

Or can you …?

“He sent you, then? Interesting.” The low resonance of his words ends on a lion’s purr.
I tip my head back to look into his bruised face—evidence he’s still working, still collecting for the reaper—as he blocks out the sun with his size. He’s over six-foot of bulk, which means my five-foot three petite stature fits snugly into his shadow.
And as much as I’ve tried to tell myself my memory is a goddamn liar, it still comforts me.
“Apparently I fly below the radar.”
His eyes roam lazily over me, settling on the full sleeve I had tattooed a few weeks back. My breath hitches, betraying the fucking confidence I was trying for, as he reaches out and hooks a thick finger in the leg of my cut-offs. Breathe through it. Breathe. You’ve got through it without giving in before, you can do it again.
“Still getting’ around with your ass hangin’ out, Abbey-girl?”
“Did you think I only did it for you?” I mock.
“How long has it been, anyway?”
I chuckle, shifting my gaze back to his disturbingly beautiful face. He expects me to know how many weeks he’s been in Cali and blurt it out, giving away the fact I’m still painfully aware of him. Yeah, I know how long it’s been, but I ain’t playing that game … yet.
“No idea,” I answer, dealing the nonchalant card as I shrug my shoulders. “Time flies when you’re having fun.”
His eyes darken as he reaches out and places both his meaty paws on my ass cheeks. I force a smile as his fingers skim the hem of my cut-offs where it slices a line over the firm globes. I close my eyes briefly as memories of how good it felt last time his hands were on me come in thick and fast. His touch trails up my back, dipping in at my waist, and pushing the hem of my tank up, exposing my flat stomach as he brings his palms to rest below the swell of my breasts.
Just a few more minutes and he’ll be done. You can do it.
My fight or flight is going haywire. I need to get away, to place distance between us, but at the same time I’m disgusted on the most part by how easy it seems to keep my feet in place. Anyone else, and they’d be cradling a broken wrist for this, my go-to defense when unwanted hands get too close. But this isn’t just anyone—it’s Sawyer, and it seems that my body still doesn’t know how to lie.
I want it.
But I shouldn’t.
He still wants me.
And I should hate that.
But I’m waiting to see what he does next.
Too much at once, Abbey.
“Still tellin’ the truth, I see,” he teases, swiping his thumbs over my pert nipples before he lets go and steps back.
The sun lances across my face, forcing me to look down to save my eyes watering up. “You want to know why he sent me yet?” I draw a deep, equalizing breath.
“Because you begged him to come?” God, he’s always been such an arrogant bastard.
“Hardly.”
He juts his chin forward, and his tongue peeks out, running along the ridge of his teeth. “What then?”
“War is on, Pretty Boy.” I smile. “It’s time to take daddy down.”

Release Blitz ~ Deadly Omissions ~ by ~ Lauren Reign

Title: Deadly Omissions
Series: The Deceptive Lovers Series
Author: Lauren Reign
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Release Date: December 9, 2016

Harper Sloan is a warrior. She’s survived the childhood from hell and clawed her way out on her own. But no amount of life experience could have prepared her for the heartache Colton would bring. He was the best man she’d ever dated, until he shattered that flawless image with his unthinkable deception. Colton is a liar, but so is Harper. And now her own secrets may have deadly consequences.

FBI agent Colton Brady made a choice. He faked his death, going undercover to save his best friend’s life from a serial killer, but it cost him the woman he loves. When he learns Harper is involved with a dangerous loan shark, he forces his way back into her life. Harper may hate him, but there is no line Colton won’t cross to protect her.

It has seriously not been my night.
Tapped That, the kickass bar I’ve worked at since graduating from the University of Tampa that happens to be owned by my friend Kalliope, was completely slammed tonight. I had the pleasure of serving a bunch of frat douchebags for hours who wanted mojitos, a wimp drink that is a total bitch to make, and a group of older cougars who wanted frozen run runners, another pain-in-my-ass cocktail.
I am a fantastic bartender, but my blender skills aren’t up to par, hence why I’m currently very sticky and in desperate need of a good scrub down. I was looking forward to a warm shower until my 1990 Civic decided to spit at me a few times, squeal, then not turn over.
“Trouble?”
Goosebumps pebble down my arms at his voice. I don’t have to lift my head to know who’s invaded my pity party. It’s the same voice that haunts my daydreams.
“No, I’m just perfect,” I respond into my dashboard, my tone drips with sarcasm.
“Get out of the car, Harper.”
“Go away, Colton.”
A chilly breeze travels across my body as my car door is flung open, but I still don’t move. I don’t have the energy, nor do I want to deal with him tonight. I can feel his presence beside me, a static tingling that invades my being anytime he is near.
I used to love the sensation. Now I loathe it.
This gorgeous man used to be linked to my heart, until he got shot on assignment eight months ago and decided that faking his death and devastating many who loved him for four months to hunt down a serial killer that was obsessed with our friend Kalli was a good idea.
Sounds crazy, right? Yeah, he turned me inside out with his unthinkable deception.
Colton’s estranged twin brother, Jaxxon, who I had never met and who was also an FBI agent, was assigned by the Bureau to keep Kalli alive after she was kidnapped and almost killed by Dominic Hall the same night that he shot Colton. Dominic had evaded their capture that fateful night, which is why Colton went undercover. I later learned that Dominic was fixated on Kalli because she scarily resembled his wife, who had been killed years prior in a drunk-driving accident.
Jaxxon kept Kalli, who also thought Colton was dead, safe for months, and they eventually fought their way to each other. They fell in love and are now having a baby together.
I, on the other hand, got destroyed and was left with a big F-you.

Lauren Reign is a graduate of The University of Tampa. She currently resides in Tampa, Florida, with her fiancé and their two rambunctious dogs. She is an avid reader, suffering from an obsession with all things romance. When she’s not engrossed in getting the characters in her head down on paper, she’s busy saving the world, one spray tan at a time.

“Another awesome read by one of my favourite new authors. Numb is a novella that can be read before or after the rest of the series.” – Reader Review

“Numb flows so perfectly into Cut and is a MUST READ!!” – Reader Review

From the earliest age I was a born storyteller.

Ask my parents and they will tell you I had a gift for making a simple event seem like an elaborate one. Purposely? No. Innocently? Yes. It was my imaginary world that initially led me to believe I wanted to be an actor. All of that role playing and living in fantasy… it was an obvious direction for me. However, becoming quite uncomfortable with the limelight quickly saw that dream diminish.

Over the years I turned my world of fantasy into stories, and eventually began writing them down. Before I knew it, ‘Cut’ had been completed.

When I am not busy writing my next story, I am a working mum, housewife and sometimes hockey wag 🙂 In other words, probably some kind of circus act who specialises in juggling 😉

I hope you enjoy my blog, where I will be posting thoughts, other books I am currently reading and even sneak peeks of my novels. I encourage any feedback, comments or direct messages via my contact page should anyone wish to get in touch.

I am so thrilled to be sharing my journey and hope you enjoy my stories as much as I enjoy writing them.

Dream often. Believe always.

Excerpt

“Let’s open the first message with an attachment.” I let the cursor hover and take a deep breath. “Wait, are you sure seeing dic pics isn’t like offensive to you? I don’t want you to feel uncomfortable or anything.”

“I’ve been attached to one all my life,” Bryce says, shooting me a you’ve-got-to-be-kidding stare. “What about you? Feel awkward having a guy looking at dicks with you?”

“Nah. Seen one, seen them all.”

I might sound confident, but I have no clue what kind of crazy will pop up. Clicking on the first message, a fully erect penis fills my screen—or, at least, the best it can. He’s a little on the small side, the poor guy. I wonder if he has no clue either. I’d never send this pic without some major photoshopping.

“Jesus!” Bryce exclaims, and I right click to save it before exiting. “What are you doing? Keeping them?” Bryce’s eyebrows shoot up to his hairline.

“I have a special place for all my boys.” I pull up a folder marked “Stroke Me.”

“Stroke me?” Bryce asks, his brows knitted together.

“Isn’t that what they want from me?” His eyes light up with understanding and he nods as a grin spreads over his face. “But my sub-folders are even better.”

“Now I have that “Stroke Me” song playing in my head,” Bryce laughs. “What did you name them?”

“I have five. Leans Left, Runs Right, Grower, Shower, and King-Kong. I bet you can guess what the last one means.” I waggle my brows, and he can’t stop laughing. Seriously, he had tears forming in his eyes.

“Compared to other pics, this guy seems a bit below average in size.” I move the pic to the sub-folder labeled “Grower”.

“I’ve never heard of anything so crazy!”

Hmm… I bet Bryce’s folder would be labeled, The Beast.

L. P. Dover’s tantalizing Second Chances series scores once again as the Carolina Cougars’ infamous bad boy takes a shot at seducing a driven career woman who’s supposed to be out of bounds.

Trying to live down his very public indiscretions, Carolina Cougars kicker Jaxon Reed feels like the most hated man in the NFL. Fans and teammates alike treat him with the disrespect he figures he deserves. Unfortunately for them, Jaxon’s no easy target. As payback, he sets his sights on the quarterback’s sister: a sultry brunette who’s curvy, confident, and sexy as hell. But what begins as a revenge fling turns into so much more—a lesson in humanity, and in love.

Bristol Thomas doesn’t have time for games, especially those played by her brother’s Neanderthal teammates. A talented interior designer with lofty goals, she doesn’t know the first thing about football, or Jaxon—except that he’s exactly the type of man she usually avoids. But when his deep laugh and deeper kisses break through her walls, she becomes the target of a fan who’s obsessed with Jaxon. Now she needs to know that Jaxon has her back . . . because he already has her heart.

“I loved this book.”—A Crazy Vermonter’s Book Reviews

“A fun and entertaining story . . . I can’t wait to read more books in this series.”—Cocktails & Books

“Hey,” I squealed, waving my hand in the air. I was so happy my brother would finally get to meet Jack.
He walked toward me with a smile, but when he caught sight of Jack, that smile turned into an all-out heated glare. “What the fuck are you doing here?” he growled, quickening his pace.
Jack froze and gripped my arm, grumbling, “Shit,” before pulling me around to face him. “Bristol, listen to me. This isn’t how I wanted you to find out.”
Everything was happening so fast, I didn’t know what to think. “Find out what?” I asked desperately.
Before he could reply, Ryan ripped me out of Jack’s hold and pushed him away. Jaw tense, Jack was ready to fight, but I couldn’t let that happen. “Ryan, stop!” I shouted, digging my nails in his shoulder.
Jerking his head around, he glared straight at me. “Do you even know who this cocksucker is? He’s playing you to get back at me.”
I threw my hands in the air. “What the hell are you talking about? How do you even know him?”
Jack’s eyes never left mine, the anguish on his face making me sicker by the second. I had a feeling I wasn’t going to like what came out of Ryan’s mouth. He scoffed incredulously and spat at Jack. “He’s Jaxon fucking Reed, the asshole on the team I’ve been telling you about. Don’t tell me you didn’t know?”
Jack stepped forward, but then again, that wasn’t his name. It was Jaxon Reed.

Release Day Blitz & Review ~ Room Service ~ by ~ Poppy Dunne

We’re celebrating the release of ROOM SERVICE by Poppy Dunne! Check out the excerpt and teaser below!

ROOM SERVICE

Adult Contemporary Romantic Comedy

Goodreads

I’ve spent seven nights cooped up in this five star hotel, sleeping on 1000 thread count sheets and working sixteen hours a day. At least room service is covered under my expense account. But all work and no play leaves a girl dateless for her brother’s wedding.
Prospects aren’t totally bleak, though. Four meals a day, I get to drool over this sexy room service guy: he’s got a perfect body, easy smile, and a sense of humor that has me snorting over my personal pizza. He’s all that and a bag of chips. Specifically, the jumbo bag of ranch barbecue chips that I ordered for breakfast out of desperation on Day Four.
I finally found the courage to ‘accidentally’ let my bathrobe slip, and ask him to be my plus one at my brother’s wedding. So maybe I had to offer him a little money. So what? There’s no way I can face my family, make my ex rue the day he left me, or screw off this work stress without his helping hand.

But what happens when I find myself falling for my fake, paid-for boyfriend? Judging by the comped mozzarella sticks he brought me for breakfast, maybe there’s a chance he’s falling for me too?

Excerpt:
“Really? She’s never mentioned you before,” Mom purrs. But damn it, Ben’s ready for her.

“I wanted to tell everyone right away, but she waited. That’s one of the things I love about her—how wise she is. When you have something special, you take it slow.” Then he leans down and presses his lips to my cheek, just a whisper of a touch. Instantly, and startlingly, my insides kind of gel together. Thank god he’s holding me up. “That’s part of the reason I’m so excited to meet all of the family now. You should be so proud of your daughter.”

His confident smile is killing Mom right now. He’s throwing a bucket of water on her, and we’re watching as the witch melts down to a cream pair of Manolo Blahniks and a spilled cosmopolitan.

Her horror at being unable to mock me gives me life. It spurs me on. Move in for the kill, Alex. I grip Ben by his lapel.

“You always know just what to say,” I murmur, trying to sound kittenish. Then I get up on my tiptoes and kiss him.

It’s supposed to be a moment to make Mom uncomfortable and get out of our faces. But the second our lips connect, a hot spark shoots through my body. Instead of freezing or shoving me away—which Ben could do, because I’m borderline assaulting him right now—he pulls me closer. Our bodies melt together.

My head tips back and I inadvertently sigh into his mouth, my lips opening just a little, and that’s when I feel his tongue trace my lower lip, then stroke against mine just hard enough to make my pulse race. There’s nothing in our verbal contract that mentions making out, but I can’t stop myself from reaching up my arms to twine around his neck. As we kiss his hands slide down my back, a little possessive. I think I’m getting dizzy. Man, this guy is a good actor.

He trails his fingers just above the curve of my ass, too. Classy, but still enough to make an onlooker a little uncomfortable. Bullseye. We break apart, even though part of me would like to stay locked to his face. Mom’s gulped down her drink in one go, clearly desperate to get the hell away from her daughter’s happiness. It feels good.

“Well. You two have a pleasant evening.” She says it like we’re a pair of strangers whom she just walked in on to find screwing in a corner of the bathroom. “Go find Rollie before you…do whatever it is you do.” I want to say ‘have sex in the front hall,’ but think better of it. She walks away from us, stiff-kneed and red-faced. My mother tried to embarrass me and got it thrown right back in her face. It’s like Christmas in February.

Though watching her walk away like I just stripped in front of her is kind of like a stiletto to the heart. Since Todd and I broke up—hell, since I took myself out to California and basically flipped her kind of life the double bird—she’s been distant. At least, more distant than she used to be. I can’t help wishing she could just be happy for me and the man I paid to be my date. Is that so much to ask?
TBRreview
This book bore a striking resemblance to the movie The Wedding Date. Busy female executive needs a date to her sibling’s wedding, in which her ex will be attending. So she hires a gigolo to be her date so her stuffy family doesn’t pity her. In this story, she hires a bellboy from her hotel to be her date.
Alex is a little bit crazy and talks to herself mentally and it’s quite funny what she inner monologues.
This was a good story and a quick read. I read it before bed and didn’t have to stay up late to read it. I’ll have to look out for more from this author.
4 stars!

Excerpt:

She was leaning over into the trunk to gather up as many bags as she could carry when a voice behind her surprised her. “You need some help?”

She straightened up with a jerk, turning to see a man beside her wearing faded jeans and a white T-shirt. He looked to be in his thirties. He needed to shave and his brown hair was too long, and he had the rough look of a man who worked with his hands. He’d startled her so much she just stared at him. “What?”

“Do you need some help?” he asked again, gesturing toward her trunk. “Carrying all that in?”

She frowned. Who the hell was this guy? And did she really look so helpless that she couldn’t unload her own trunk by herself. “Oh. No. I’ll be okay. Thank you.” Several bags were already hooked over her arms, so she gave him an absent smile and turned to walk up the steps to the front door.

She had some trouble getting her key into the door with the bags on her hand, but she’d almost gotten the door unlocked when she suddenly felt someone behind her, swinging open the storm door that had been propped against her back.

She gave a little squeal of surprise as she turned to see the man she’d thought she’d dismissed. He had twice as many bags hooked over his arms as she was able to carry.

“I’m Rob West,” he said with a slight mountain drawl in his deep voice. “I’m your neighbor across the street.”

She felt flustered now and annoyed that a strange man was walking into her house as if she’d invited him. “Okay, but I said I could get the bags by myself.”

“I was already over here. Why shouldn’t I help?”

Because she’d said she didn’t need his help. Any basically civil person would have respected her wishes. She really hoped everyone wasn’t as rude and pushy as this man was.

“Where’s all your furniture?” Rob asked, looking around the empty house after he’d dumped his load of bags on her kitchen counter.

“It’s in the basement. I just got here today.”

He focused his gaze on her, looking her up and down. His eyes were actually quite nice—a really deep, melting brown. “Are you Chris and Sharon’s girl?”

She was startled by the question, but then realized that, if he lived across the street, he’d probably known her parents.  “Yes.”

“I thought you lived in the city.” He glanced down at her left hand, and she realized he was looking for a wedding ring.

She’d taken off her rings six months ago. “I’m moving here now.”

He nodded slowly, as if trying to piece together her situation, something he had no business knowing. “Well, welcome to town. I’ll get the rest of your stuff.”

“I don’t need any—” she began.

He just ignored her, striding back outside as if she hadn’t spoken. Arthur had done that all the time—completely disregard what she was trying to say. She hated it.

Rob might be a small-town, blue-collared guy, but he obviously wasn’t all that different from Arthur at heart.

He came back into the house a minute later with another huge load of bags. She couldn’t help but notice he had really good shoulders, and his biceps were very impressive, clearly visible beneath his shirt sleeves as he held the bags. He set them on the opposite counter and then turned to look at her. “That’s it from the car. Do you want me to haul some stuff up from the basement for you? You at least need a chair or two and a bed.”

“I’m fine,” she said, managing to smile although she really wanted to scowl at him. “Thank you.”

He frowned. “You can’t get it all up yourself. Do you have some guys who are coming to help?”

Now she frowned too. “I said I was fine. Thank you.”

“What are you all snippy about?” he asked, looking at her curiously.

She gave a gasp of indignation at his clueless rudeness. “I’m snippy,” she bit out, “because I’ve said several times that I’m fine, and yet you refuse to listen to me.”

His expression relaxed into almost a smile, as if he’d finally figured out her mood. “Oh, I get it. I’m not some creepy asshole, so no need to worry about that. I live across the street. I knew your folks. I just figured you could use some help, especially since you’re all dressed up and everything.”

She looked down at herself in surprise. “I’m not dressed up!” She wore a sleeveless pale blue top, black capris, and sandals. The sandals had heels on them, but almost all of her shoes had heels. In terms of her wardrobe, the clothes were very casual.

He chuckled—a surprisingly pleasant sound. “Okay. If you say so.”

Allison heard a familiar sound just then—that damned toilet was running again, after she’d spent five minutes jiggling the handle before she left.

Rob must have heard the sound and seen her expression. “Sounds like it just needs a new flapper. I can look at it for you.” He actually turned around and took a step toward the bathroom.

“That’s okay,” Allison said quickly, relieved when he stopped at her words. “I’m sure I can take care of it.”

He turned to face her again, not looking like he believed her, but fortunately he didn’t argue. “There’s a hardware store in town—just a block down from Dora’s. You can get a new flapper, and they can talk you through replacing the old one.”

There was he was, assuming she’d need help again, based on nothing but her appearance. He could have no idea whether she was capable of fixing a toilet, and he shouldn’t make assumptions.

She didn’t like this guy at all. She really wanted him to leave.

She took a deep breath, making sure her voice was polite as she said, “I appreciate your help, and it was nice to meet you.”

“You really don’t mean that, do you?” he drawled, an irresistible half-smile on his face.

She narrowed her eyes. “I’d like to unpack my bags now.”

“Got it,” he said, still smiling as if privately amused. “I’ll see you around.”

Finally, he turned to leave. Allison was very glad to see him go, and it wasn’t because her eyes drifted down to his very nice ass as he walked away.
