Jimmy and I met at the gym, and he couldn’t resist teasing me about my dinner with Tamra. “So, how’d it go, Mister Romance? Did you woo the lady?” he asked.

I shook my head at him. “You know it wasn’t like that. She’s helping me out.”

“Oh, yeah? What did she wear to dinner?”

“Clothes.”

“Was any cleavage on display?” he probed.

I nodded, and he pursed his lips and tilted his head. “I’m pretty sure she’s into you if the girls were on display. Women don’t come to a single man’s place with their boobs out unintentionally.”

Jimmy continued, warming to his topic. “I have a theory. If the boobs are on display and it’s not a natural place for said plumage, for example, a bar, then it’s premeditated boobage. That shit doesn’t just happen. Women are very aware of their cleavage game. If they’re unsure of you, they might reveal a hint. More likely they’re wearing something like a crew neck T-shirt to cover the girls up altogether. Maybe a turtleneck if you’ve really made them uncomfortable.”

Jimmy had obviously thought about women’s breasts and their meaning a lot. Which was saying something, as I was the one who wrote romance novels.
Amelia Simone is a reader turned writer based in the Pacific Northwest. Along with caring for her young family and enjoying food and wine adventures with her husband, she spends a lot of time in the backyard gardening and reading during her free time. I came up with the idea that I could donate plasma because you could earn an extra $500/month. My husband responded with, “No. Find something else. Write a blog. Write a book.” I didn’t think I had anything to share on blog that a thousand other mothers hadn’t already thought of. I decided to take his challenge seriously and sat down to write my first book, Jack. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed writing. From there, the stories continued to flow and I haven’t been able to stop. I hope my readers enjoy my books as much as I enjoy writing them. “Oh, now you’re interested,” he asks smartly.

“You’re kind of a dick,” I reply still feeling the air around me shift.

“So I’ve been told,” he says softly, as my hand lands on something solid.

“How is this happening,” I breathe. My hand slides upward, feeling soft material.

“I wouldn’t go any higher if I were you,” he whispers with a laugh.

Snatching my hand back I feel my temper rising. How can I feel someone in my dream? I don’t understand.

“Are you gonna open your eyes anytime soon,” he sighs heavily.

“You sound like a petulant child sighing all the time,” I grumble.

Oh, my god who is this clown, reaching out tentatively, my hand connects with another warm solid body part.

While my real job is teaching young people, my fun job is conjuring up characters and situations to write about. 
My goal, as a writer, is to write stories that relate to all of us, to make readers laugh and maybe cry sometimes. I hope my readers can escape into a fantasy, one that’s actually possible. Sure, some of the stories could be dubbed “Insta-love” stories but that’s okay. I fell in love with my husband pretty damn fast and with my daughter the second I saw her. So, it’s a thing, I swear.
