Book 13 in the USA Today Bestselling Impossible Series—Can be read as a standalone.

A man with a broken heart…

The agony of losing the woman I love to another Dominant has left me dead inside. Over the last two years, sex has become my drug of choice to cope with the loss. I know I’m too broken to ever love again, but that won’t stop me from trying to fuck my pain away.

A woman with a painful past…

I’m not interested in intimacy, but I am interested in sex. As a BDSM romance novelist, I need to explore the world of kink for my books. The power exchange is meaningless; nothing more than research. Until I meet him. The powerful Dom won’t relent until he breaks down all my walls, including the ones that protect my ravaged heart.

Bound together by lust and danger…

Chloe Martin is a BDSM romance author by night and an investigative journalist by day. When the latter brings her to the New York unit of the FBI to research the Latin Kings, she never expects her two careers to collide. The agent she’s shadowing—Dexter Scott—is also a Dominant, and he’s interested in helping with her research in the field and in the bedroom.

But Chloe’s story on the Latin Kings puts her in the line of fire, and Dex’s protective—and possessive—instincts kick in. Can he let go of his pain and find his happily ever after? Or will the danger that surrounds them steal his second chance at love?

AP new - excerpt.jpg

“Your safe word is red,” Dex told me. “Can you remember that?”

“Of course I can.” A hint of my indignation returned. Did he really think I was so dim that I couldn’t remember a simple safe word?

The pressure of the crop beneath my chin increased, tipping my head back farther and forcing me up onto my toes.

“Don’t be so sure. I’m going to take you so high, you’ll forget your own name. But don’t forget that one word.”

I wanted to say that I doubted his arrogant assertion. No Dom had ever sent me into subspace. I might play the role of a sub for my scenes, but I never truly submitted.

But something deep within me whispered that I’d already lost. I’d made the mistake of engaging in a power play with him, and I’d ceded to his will. I’d thought I was fully in control of the scene, but what had seemed like small changes—the blindfold, the gentle caresses of the crop instead of painful strikes, his low, firm commands rather than barked orders—had made me come undone.

“Good girl,” he said again before I could gather my wits enough to formulate a flippant response.

“I didn’t say anything,” I protested weakly. I’d done nothing to earn his praise.

The crop tenderly traced the line of my jaw. I suddenly wished he’d touch me with his fingertips instead. My teeth sank into my lower lip as I bit back a plea for him to put his hands on me.

“You didn’t have to say anything,” he told me in that same smooth, soothing tone. “And you don’t have to fight me. I can tell you’re trying to resist. Submit.”

“I can’t,” I whispered.

“Yes, you can. You just don’t want to. But I’m not giving you a choice. Your only way out of this is your safe word.”

A beat of silence passed. He was giving me the opportunity to escape.

But I said nothing. I sealed my fate.

“Excellent. You’ve pleased me, Chloe.” The smooth leather traced the swell of my breasts again, and I arched into him as carnal sensation overwhelmed me. “That feels good, doesn’t it?”

I moaned. A bite of pain nipped at me as the crop slapped the top of my breast.

“I want a coherent answer,” he prompted, his voice lilting with arrogant amusement. A twin hit landed on my other breast, chastising me.

“Yes,” my shy admission was barely audible.

“Louder. And address me with respect.” The crop snapped against my sensitive inner thigh, and I cried out at the unexpected sting. With my sight taken, I couldn’t predict where the blows would land. It heightened my physical senses, making the relatively light hits inflict sensation that went deeper than my flesh. An odd tingling raced across my mind along with the sparks that danced across my skin. Thoughts turned hazy, and for a moment I floated.

Then the crop fell on my thighs again, snapping against one and then the other in rapid succession. I squealed and tried to close my legs, only to be reminded that they were held open by the spreader bar. My sound of protest transformed into a husky moan.

“I asked you a question,” his voice threaded through my mind. “Tell me this feels good. Tell me you like pleasing me.”

“Yes,” my voice seemed detached from my consciousness, leaving my lips without thought. “Yes, it feels good.”

“Yes, Sir,” he corrected me with another, sharper slap against my thigh. My abused flesh throbbed with a delicious burn, the warmth spreading up into my pussy.

“Yes,” I said more clearly. “It feels good, Sir.”

The crop suddenly pressed against my labia, stroking the wet folds. My head dropped back on a long sigh as pleasure flooded my mind.

“You mean it this time,” he said, his voice deep with satisfaction. “You called me Sir before because you thought it sounded like one of your romance novels. But this is the real thing, princess. A good Dom earns his sub’s respect.” He continued to stroke me with the crop, and my clit pulsed in need.

“I’m going to hit your clit, and you’re going to come for me,” he informed me. “But you’re going to ask me for it like a good girl. When we started, you demanded that I crop you. Do you want to try that request again?”

I whined my wordless resistance as a small part of me clung on to my final shreds of control.

He tapped the crop against my pussy lips, the light slap a promise of how he would stimulate my aching clit.

“We both know you want to come. I want it, too. I want you to give me a nice, big orgasm. Your pleasure is mine. Your body is under my control. I want to hear you admit it, to both of us. This is submission, princess. And you were made for it.”

His low, confident words wrapped around me like a caress even more erotic than the touch of the crop on my pussy. It was deeper than physical pleasure; it called to my soul.

I let out a blissful sigh, my entire body softening as I gave everything to him.

“That’s it,” he urged. “Surrender. Beg me for your orgasm.”

“Please make me come, Sir.”

Hero is a hot read full of suspense and danger and sexy times.

Chloe is doing research into the Latin Kings gang and is able to tag along with an FBI agent, thanks to her friend Carina and her husband Kennedy.  Chloe is also able to do research on BDSM for her romance novel career as well.

Dex is an FBI agent who is also a Dominant who wants to “help” Chloe in her submission research. And he wants to keep her safe from her own inquisitive nature that gets her into trouble.

This was a great read that kept you guessing and intrigued as to if Dex would dominate Chloe.

4 stars!

“Cheers.” My seatmate good-naturedly tipped his glass toward me. He wasn’t going to leave me alone.

I took a long gulp and looked back at my computer screen.

“Do you like working for them?”

I tugged at my turtleneck; it was so freaking hot all of a sudden. My nosy neighbor’s face had a slight sheen to it, clearly from being hot, and now his warmth was seeping into my space.

“I do. They’re a growing company and . . . I’ve made great strides there.”

What the heck? Why was I even answering him? Because he asked, and if I was honest, it was the nicest anyone had been to me in months.

Furthermore, why did I sound like I was on an interview? Or an infomercial?

He was kind—I could tell—and his smile was gentle and calm, his eyes like warm coffee with just the right amount of cream swirling through it. I turned a little in my seat to face him and my knee brushed his thigh. I let my gaze travel his Beastie Boys T-shirt until I settled on his computer.

Playing on it was a rom-com, one I’d never seen before, but Katie What’s-her-nameall stunning, shiny hair, celebrity mom, perfect lifewas front and center. Her arms were full of shopping bags and she was wearing a big grin on her perfect face as she walked down a city street.

“You don’t strike me as the romantic comedy type.” I felt my eyebrow lift. I wasn’t sure if I was teasing him or myself as the question floated from my mouth.

He laughed. It was soothing and comforting like a coffee-and-Kahlua on a cold night, and warm like the sun on the first few days of summer.

I allowed my eyes to close and imagined he looked like somebody else—not someone else totally, but just different. Fit, not slender but muscular. He still had the same gracious smile and inviting eyes, but he wasn’t wearing a music T-shirt in my imagination. Maybe a Henley? And dark-wash jeans instead of the regular everyday ragged blue I’d noticed him wearing.

“It’s work too,” he said, interrupting my fantasy.

“Oh.” I chugged the balance of my mimosa, cooling the wash of desire recently conjured up from my brain.

“Actually, I’m pretty sure BubblePOP will end up reviewing this one, will probably have someone at the premiere too. That’s why I asked about the site. Six degrees of Kevin Bacon and all that. Our worlds are connected.”

“I don’t do movies. I’m the fitness editor, but if Katie What’s-her-name is in it, I’m sure we’ll be all over it.”

He shifted his gaze over fully to me now. His eyes weren’t exclusively deep brown; tiny flecks of amber circled his pupil. They were captivating in a weird way, as if they didn’t belong with this guy.

I’d never met a slob who was so interesting before, yet he was definitely intriguing. And not really a slob—that was my own bias. Clearly, I was having some sort of psychotic breakdown on this airplane.

Like many other reviews I’ve read, I both loved and hated To See You.

Charli is a hustle and bustle, New Yorker, e-zine fitness editor, and always looking for the next achievement.  When Layton, a thicker, sweetheart of a man starts talking to her on a plane, she immediately judges him by his outward appearance.

Layton knows he is a little more than society’s version of “fit” but when he meets Charli on a plane, he is immediately interested in her.  She’s not like his normal type but in his mind he’ll never know what could happen unless he tries.  So he tries.

Fast forward a few months and Charli has undergone a transformation for the better and so has Layton.  They meet up again and their chemistry is still there.

I liked the message of this book but at the same time I just hated Charli.  But that’s what made her transformation that much more effective.

Greer has always been there for Asher, but she wishes she could break through her shyness and show how much she truly loves him. It’s a shame he got her pregnant.

After his fiancée betrayed him and tanked his business in one fell swoop, Asher has spent his time trying to rebuild his wealth and forget the past. But he doesn’t understand why Greer blew him off after their night together—until he catches a glimpse of her belly.

Now Asher is willing to do whatever it takes to convince Greer she belongs with him. And he’s very skilled at the art of persuasion.

Excerpt

When the group started to disperse into partying again, he got out of his chair and moved toward Greer’s table, stalking her. He saw her heading off with one of the waitstaff and jogged to catch up. “Greer!”

She turned and her face paled at the sight of him. Her mouth firmed into an angry line of distaste, and then she picked up her skirts and continued to walk away.

Yeah, he was definitely on the shit list.

That didn’t deter him, though. Asher headed after her, following her into the house and catching up despite her efforts to hurry. “Hey, wait up. I think we need to talk.”

“I have nothing to say to you, Asher.” She didn’t turn to look at him.

He reached out and clasped her arm, noting how warm her skin was, and how soft. And damn it all if he didn’t start to get another inappropriate boner. His body really needed to learn to calm the fuck down. “Just give me five minutes of your time, all right? Then I’ll leave you alone.”

She exchanged a look with the waitress, and then nodded at her. “I’ll be inside in a minute. Go ahead.” When the woman left, Greer sighed and turned back to him, smoothing a stray lock of hair back behind her ear. “What is it, Asher? I’m very busy tonight with the party.”

“I can imagine. This is a terrific party. I should have known you were behind it.” He knew she’d done weddings for some top-notch clients in New York and always took her job extremely seriously. Of course she’d put on a spectacular party for her father. “Listen. I feel like the last time we saw each other, we . . . well, we fucked up.”

Her eyebrows went up.

Shit. That was apparently the wrong thing to say. “I mean, it was a fuckup, but not that fucking you was a mistake.” God, where was his suaveness when he needed it? Why was he all diarrhea of the mouth when it came to Greer? He could sweet talk anyone, but the moment he came close to her, he babbled like a schoolboy. “Not that I think we should have fucked, of course. We’re friends, and friends don’t sleep with each other. Not if they want to stay friends. And you’ve been avoiding me. We haven’t had our Mondays in the last few months.”

“No, we haven’t.”

“It doesn’t have to be Mondays, you know. It can be any other day. Or it doesn’t have to be lunch. It can be anytime you need it to be if your schedule is all screwed.” He frowned to himself. “I should probably stop saying the word screwed, shouldn’t I?”

Her arms crossed over her chest, pressing her dress tighter against her body. “Is this conversation going somewhere, Asher? Like I said, I’m very busy tonight.”

Greer’s tits looked magnificent in that dress, he realized. They’d been small, perfect handfuls the night they’d slept together and now they seemed . . . doubly abundant. “Did you get a boob job?”

Her eyes narrowed imperceptibly. “I need to go.”

Fuck, why did he say that? “Sorry. It’s none of my business. Listen.” He reached out and grabbed her elbow when she turned to leave, stopping her. “The reason why I wanted to talk to you tonight is because I was behaving like an ass that night. I was drunk and I wasn’t myself. I was just lost in misery and in booze, and if I’d been thinking straight, I would have never dragged you off to the gardens and slept with you.” And damn if that didn’t sound all wrong, too. “Not because you’re not attractive, Greer. You are.”

“You’re not winning me over, Asher.” Her voice sounded hard. “Did you truly come to this party just to tell me that you find me repulsive and you wouldn’t have slept with me if you were sober?”

“What? No, that’s not what I meant at all. You’re hot. I mean, hell, you look smoking hot in that dress tonight.” She was all lush curves, which was surprising given that his memories of her were of her daintiness. But her body had changed in the last couple of months. And something about that was bothering him. “I just . . . don’t think we should have done that. As friends.”

“On that, I agree completely. May I go now?”

Why wasn’t she thawing toward him? He remembered Greer as all soft, shy smiles for him. They’d been friends, good friends. The cool, remote stranger in front of him . . . well, it reminded him of Stijn and the politely disinterested-because-you-are-dirt-to-me expression he wore at all times. “I just . . . you’re a good friend and I don’t want to lose you.”

“We can’t change what happened, Asher.” She hadn’t thawed an inch. One of the waitstaff moved nearby with an enormous cake, and she delicately sidestepped on the path to allow them more room. As she did, the long hem of her skirt got caught in a nearby bush and pulled taut against her body, outlining a slightly rounded stomach.

Asher’s eyes widened as realization struck him. “Greer . . . are you pregnant?”

She bit her lip and averted her gaze.

Oh fuck. She was pregnant.
“Is it . . . Is it mine?”

She looked back up again. Her eyes narrowed. She crooked her finger at him, indicating he should lean down. He did—

—And she delivered a ringing slap to his face.

TBRreview

The Billionaire’s Favorite Mistake will have you repeatedly muttering “Asher Asher Asher” to yourself as you shake your head.  And wanting to smack Greer for lacking some backbone. But this was just like the other Billionaire’s books: fantastic!

Greer has been in love with Asher for what seems like forever. And she finally sees her chance at getting Asher to really “see” her.  What she doesn’t count on is Asher’s condition when she finally makes her play.

Greer finally realizes that Asher never saw her that way and stops talking with him.  Except he’s left her a little gift that will make an appearance in about 9 months….

Asher sees that Greer is pregnant and if he wasn’t missing her before, he definitely is now that she’s pregnant as well.  Asher will stop at nothing to get Greer (and their baby) back with him.

5 stars!

AP new - excerpt.jpg

“Two minutes to curtain,” called out the stage manager.

We all hustled to take our places for the first number, and Ash walked with Laney as she wheeled herself to a spot where she could watch from the wings.

I felt a shiver of anticipation skitter across my skin, and I stretched my arms over my head before shaking them out, keeping flexible, keeping moving.

“God, I’ll never get enough of this,” whispered Sarah. “I hate it and I love it.”

I knew exactly what she meant. The nerves never really stopped, but the second I stepped on stage, adrenaline and muscle memory took over. My body would respond before my brain felt the fear of dancing in front of a thousand strangers.

I could hear the audience, hear their breaths, feel their excitement, feel the heat rolling forward from the press of bodies.

And then the house lights sank and the theater dropped into darkness, the electricity of expectancy lighting a fuse.

Al, the conductor, tapped his baton, and there was a collective breath as the band prepared to play, fingers hovering above keys and strings, the drummer poised, tension in his arms.

Then the music blasted out in an explosion of sound and light, and I was on stage, alive, powerful, doing what I was born to do.

I became the role, I lived the dance, blood pounding through my veins, my muscles coiled and released as I lunged and leapt, my arms sweeping through the space around me, filling it with spirals of strength and emotion.

Nothing could beat this feeling, this intensity, this desire to drink from the well of life.

And it was magnificent.

For a split second, I caught Ash’s eye, and we shared something that only another dancer can understand—a connection, an emotion so fleeting, I could have dreamed it.

I feel it too, brother.

Two hours later, we stood bathed in sweat under the bright stage lights, smiles on our faces and tears in our eyes, soaking up applause as the crowd rose to their feet, cheers and whistles soaring above the roar. My chest heaved from the exertion, but also from the deep emotion that dancing always brought to me, and I knew that everyone on this stage felt the exact same way.

Sarah stood next to me, tears running down her face, happy tears; tears of achievement and joy; tears of satisfaction and sorrow that it was all over. The end of a performance was a birth—the memories of the audience would live on—and a death, too, as another show ended. So tonight, we were celebrating and grieving.

“I’m going to miss this so fucking much,” she sobbed, staring up at me, then out at the cheering crowd. “God, I’m going to miss you, Luka, you bloody great hunk of sexy Slovenian.”

“I’ll miss you too, buča,” I said sincerely, leaning down to kiss her cheek, tasting the salt of her tears.

All the dancers linked hands, raising our arms in the air as we took our final bow. Ash stepped forward, looking down at the band and applauding them, too. Then he clasped his hands together and pressed them to his heart, before waving to the audience and leaving the stage.

Yveta, Gary and Oliver stepped forward with me and Sarah to take our bows as co-leads, then we too left the stage.

And it was all over.

The applause drained away as the curtain fell for the last time and the house lights came up.

Then it was the slow descent to normalcy as we peeled away the roles we’d played, along with our costumes, wigs and makeup.

I’ve never told her, but she’s too good for me. I know I married far up the chain of command, so far that someone should have slapped me back down. But here I am. So I intend to keep her completely satisfied, so completely satisfied that she will never even have time to think twice about her decision to marry a fuck like me. A girl like her could be on any man’s arm. Some billionaire somewhere is missing his porcelain doll. And although I may not have the coin to offer her like that, I sure as shit can make sure she knows all the other ways only I can take care of her.

Like this.

She’s as sweet and juicy as an overripe peach. I swear she tastes better every time. I slurp and swallow as her hands come down to grip the sides of my head. My fingers take control of her lush thighs, spreading her, following her manic, up-and-down, up-and-down motion with enthusiasm.

I lick and suck. Rasping my teeth over her clit until she cums with such a shudder it’s like she’s possessed. Quaking and shivering, she runs sweet cum into my mouth and I swallow her nectar with pride.

My balls throb. My cock demands his own just reward but I’m not done with my little girl. I want one more from her because I can feel the animal in me clawing forward. When I get my cock inside her, it’s not going to be gentle.

Hard, rough and fast. I want her soaking and moaning and ready when it happens.

I give her a few seconds to re-group, tickling her outer lips with my tongue. Then I’m face deep inside her again. My tongue wants to be everywhere. I’m winding up and down in each fold. I’ve been here so many times and it will never be enough. Her pussy is my home.

She falls over into another gushing orgasm, my name on her lips as I bite down on her clit. She practically levitates off the bed.

I pull back for a second, listening to her soft moans and admiring her dripping opening.

“Come here.” I reach for her hands, gently pulling her up as her glazed eyes barely focus.

I guide her hips up and over me as I lay down on the bed.

“Hop on. I want that pussy on my face. Show me what you need.” My hands come up and around her thighs until I’ve got two giant handfuls of ass, and I’m pulling her hips down so the masterpiece of her pussy covers my mouth.

I lick her outer lips, then flick her clit with my tongue. I want all of her at once. I want to devour her, ruin her and stick a damn flag in the ground like Neil Armstrong claiming the moon. She’s all mine. Every juicy inch. I count myself the luckiest man on earth because of it.

I settle my mouth over her clit, playing with the hard button, using the tip of my tongue until she starts to take what’s hers. I love her like this. There is nothing sexier than seeing my girl needy, knowing I’m the only one who will give her what she craves. She’s twitching, grinding down on my mouth, soaking my face until her juice is dripping down through the scruffy two-day beard that covers my jaw.

I groan right along with her. I’m pretty fucking sure I enjoy this more than she does.

She whimpers my name a few times and I stuff my tongue as far into her clutching cunt as it can reach. My name’s still on her lips. Along with some ‘Oh my Gods’ but I think I’m the one who sees Jesus. When your girl cums while calling your name and God’s in the same breath, you are as close to the holy land as mortal man can be.

TBRreviewCherish is the continuation of Beck & Promise’s story.  You definitely need to read Promise first and get the start of their story as well as why each is the way they are.  Plus who wants to miss Beck’s uber alpha ness?  So go back and read OR if ypu buy CherishPromise is included.  Go read that first and THEN come back.  Otherwise, this review will ruin the story for you.

Cherish picks up right where Promise left off.  Promise and Beckett are freshly married and are dealing with Louis’ kidnapping of her brother.  And trying to figure out each of their pasts and keeping it from adversely affecting their future.

Beck is SO obsessed with Promise and keeping her happy and safe.  The only down side for this book to me was that Promise called him “Daddy” a few times while they were intimate.  That just doesn’t work for me.  Otherwise, I love Beck and his not creepy obsession with Promise.

4 stars!

Title: Fool For You
Series: Made For Love Series
Author: R.C. Martin
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: June 17, 2016

Judah St. Michaels is a man who seeks pleasure, not love. Never love. By rule, satisfaction is guaranteed while in his bed—yet, his women are always dismissed still begging for more. His frequent flyers are few, but variety breeds a challenge on which he thrives, and loneliness is not a burden he shoulders. But when he happens upon an exquisite, little redhead—whose shy demeanor he’d like to shatter in one night of passion—her reluctance to accept his offer changes his game completely.

Teddy Fitzpatrick doesn’t trust easily. The scars that define her cut deep, and love is a dream she’s afraid to chase. When a tall, dark, and gorgeous man enters her world, she knows right away that he’s the type to break hearts. Yet, try as she might, his persistence is hard to ignore, and her ability to resist soon dwindles down to nothing. Against her better judgment, she opens her heart, surrendering to the dominate force that he is.

But happily-ever-afters are not easy to come by, for assholes aren’t born, they’re made… And falling in love is a fool’s errand.

*Series STANDALONE. Written for audiences 18+ years of age, due to language and sexual content.

“Hoooowow!!! This book is everything and so much more! And to be honest, I’m so in love with it.” – Chatterbook Book Blog
“This epic monster book by RC Martin had me hooked from the very start. It is the perfect combination of sweet and sultry, innocent and erotic.” – Reader Review

“…..read the book.. it’s a really long book and it’s full of deliciousness… so read it. That is all!” – Author Hayley Faiman
review
Head’s Up: This book is longer than most – 624 pages according to Amazon. BUT you wouldn’t know it’s that long.  I read it over 2 days and I loved it!  I had to know what happened.  It wasn’t as if I read it and thought to myself “When will it end?”  I was just so into Judah and Teddy’s story.
Judah and Teddy’s relationship is huge and complex and sweet and just so consuming.  Judah is your typical manwhore who decides he wants Teddy once he sees her.  Teddy is unlike any other woman Judah has come across and that makes her more of a challenge.
Teddy has had a bad relationship before so she is justifiably skeptical and jaded somewhat.  Judah is exactly the type of man she doesn’t want to get involved with but is so interested in him as well.
I truly loved this story.  It is very well written and the characters angst is so real.
5 stars!

AP new - excerpt.jpg

“Dr. Faraday . . .” she calls in that innocent voice of her. There’s a question in her voice.

“My place. Tonight.” I tuck my insatiable cock into my pants. “I’m afraid we’ve failed to fully meet his needs with our session this afternoon, so we’ll have to try again later.”

I wait her for to agree. Her body tells me everything I need to know, but still, I want her to nod. She does, her shoulders slumping in defeat as I pull a fresh shirt from my briefcase and button it on. Even after I’ve forced orgasm after orgasm from her, riding her hard, I can tell she’s still wound tight. Still needy.

Still greedy for my body and what it does to her.

After tucking in my shirt, I smack her ass as I pass behind her. She barely flinches, instead almost sinking into my palm, welcoming it to strike her soft cheek again. I give her what she wants.

“I’ve taken every part of you in the time we’ve been allotted, but tonight . . .” My fingers run down her cheeks, pausing to circle where I’m planning on having my fun tonight.

Her hips pitch back, giving me better access, and right before I free my cock to take her back there now, I pause long enough to take a breath. Tonight. Something to look forward to.

When I can take as much time as I want.

Giving her ass one last slap, I lower my mouth to her neck. Unable to resist, I suck her delicate skin like I played with her nipple earlier, until she’s arching her back and her tits are pointing at the ceiling. When I release her, I smile at the mark already starting to bruise her neck. Mine.

“Good-bye for now, poppet.” I run my fingers through her ponytail on the way to my briefcase.

After jogging up the stairs, I pause when I reach the door, unable to leave the room without admiring her from this vantage.

She’s still on the table, knees spread, wrists bound in front of her and forcing her massive chest to spill over her arms. The evidence of our fucking is still dripping from her, and her skin is flushed from the things I’ve done to her body. Her muscles and limbs are exhausted from the things I’ve made her do.

Her nipples look well-suckled, the mark on her neck is spreading, and she’s staring at me in a way that makes my inner demon gloat.

She’s everything I’ve ever wanted. Everything I could ever want.

And she’s all mine.

Excerpt #3

What am I doing?

That’s all that keeps repeating through my head. Why didn’t I run? Why didn’t I leave when I had the chance? He was willing to let me escape. Why didn’t I?

The questions keep storming through my mind, but I know the answer. I’ve wanted Luke Faraday from the first day I saw him. I’ve wanted him, and now that I know he wants me too, I can’t walk away.

Even though he scared the shit out of me at first with all that domineering and locking of doors, now I know he’s in on my little secret. I’ve been spying on him for weeks now. He was right—I did touch myself in my car, watching him strip, watching him do much worse . . . just thinking about his naked body, his hand shuttling up and down his cock in front of the window at night . . . my body responded like he’s actually inside me.

He knows about my obsession with him . . . but I know about his obsession with me. Going through my medical files at the campus medical building? If it isn’t illegal, it’s grossly unethical. Not to mention his comment about marking my chair with his cum after the first day of class.

Picturing him doing it, thinking about how I slid into that cum-marked seat the next day makes my nipples harden. He doesn’t miss it. He’s practically gloating, his eyes staring greedily at my tits, knowing what he’s doing to my body. Knowing that despite my best attempts to convince him otherwise, my body is priming itself for him, welcoming him closer, inviting him to take me.

I eye the door one last time—my body even angles toward it—but then I accept my fate. I’m not leaving. I don’t want to. Whatever dark urges he’s driven by, no matter the insatiability of his appetites, I’m his. I always have been.

From the time I first entered this room and fell into his web, I’ve been caught. He’ll have to throw me through that door before I leave it.

My hand moves down my skirt, slips under the hem, and moves up my wet inner thighs.

He reclines back into his chair, wetting his lips as he watches the show I’m giving him. Now that I’m resolved, my inhibitions are gone. Now that I’ve committed to my fate, I’m driven by my desire for him, unable to think of anything but our bodies joining.

I slide a little closer to him before touching myself. I’ve gotten to watch him get off a couple of times already—it’s only fair he gets to watch me. He’s got the goddamn front row seat to the show, so I might as well make it a good one.

TBRreview

Educating Emma  is a quick, hot read by Kat Austen.  It is a standalone and 54 pages.  I was able to start and finish once I got into bed.

Emma is the wide-eyed ingenue who has the hots for her professor, Luke Faraday.  Emma finally gets up the nerve to do something about her secret crush and it seems Luke has a secret as well.

As the synopsis says, everything is not as it seems and read the book before judging.  Trust me.  And it’s 54 pages.  That’s a quick read!

5 stars!

Underneath It All

EXCERPT #1:
That night I was left alone in our dorm. The three of
them were off to the Pre-Thanksgiving party thrown by the student faculty.
They prohibited me from going and suggested I stay and
just rest for the night.
I stripped down to my panties; threw a shirt on over
my head and climbed into bed.
My phone rang, displaying an unknown number.
“Hello? Who’s this?”
“Agata.” The voice on the other end answered. My
stomach plummeted at the unmistakably deep resonance from Reeve’s voice.
“Hi,” I took an audible deep breath. “Where did you
get my number?”
“I’m your dean, Agata, I know everything about you.”
“I thought so.” I immediately caught myself smiling at
the sound of his voice.
“Did you attend the Pre-Thanksgiving party?”
“Nope. I just stayed in bed.”
He went quiet for a second. “What are you doing,
Agata?”
“Uhm, just…lying in bed,” I stated the fact,
unknowingly allowing him an opportunity to explore dangerous territories.
“What are you wearing?”
“Seriously?” I giggled at his question and the playful
tone of his voice.
“Yes, seriously. Tell me what you are wearing.”
Well, this could be interesting.
“I’m wearing one of my t-shirts and panties.”
“I wish I was beside you.” With those words, I tensed.
“Don’t tense, just listen.” As if he was seeing me through the phone. “I want
to kiss you just like I did in my room last night. You have no idea how much I
wish I could take your shirt and panties off and lick your whole body, paying
attention to specific areas.”
“Reeve. No.” A breathy voice left me.
“Shh. Just listen, baby.” He gave me a second to
decide whether to hang up or keep listening. “Have you touched yourself
before?”
“No.” I bit my lower lip.
 “Will you touch
yourself for me?”
I was frozen for a second, the sound of my breathing
growing rapid. My fingers inched under my panties and I touched myself, rubbing
gently as I listened to his voice.
I knew he could tell I obeyed by the change in my
breathing pattern.
“Close your eyes. Imagine my lips on your neck kissing
you the way I did before.” Heat flooded my body as I recalled it so vividly.
“My tongue moves farther down your neck and to your chest, where I take your
nipple into my mouth and suck gently.”
My fingers moved faster as the vision of being at
Reeve’s mercy sent crippling waves of pleasure through me.
“It feels so good, doesn’t it?”
“Yes,” I whispered letting him take every ounce of
doubt I felt about doing it because I could hear the ecstasy in his voice and I
knew he was touching himself too.
“I am stroking faster as I listen to your small moans,
Agata.”
My eyelids shut even tighter as I tried desperately to
feel him somewhere amidst what I was doing.
“I suck harder and nip at your breast. Do you enjoy
that?”
“Very much.” Small moans emanated from my throat as I
became lost in the sensations. The pleasure became addicting and the excitement
of it all heightened every sense I had.
“I drag my tongue lower, lingering at your belly
button, then continuing down until I reach your thighs. My lips and tongue kiss
inside your thighs before I replace your fingers with my mouth.”
I was breathless now and whimpering for him, making me
stroke myself even faster. I could hear him breathing hard now and I knew he
was ready to come.
“You taste so good, Agata. Feel my tongue and my warm
breath on you, licking faster.”
I could tell I was close by the way my breathing
rapidly increased. His breathing responded the same way.
“Reeve…” I panted, the sounds became muffled as I
buried my head into my pillow.
“That’s it, baby.” Reeve growled into the phone and I
knew he came too.
“That was good,” I uttered breathlessly, my eyes shut
to withstand the first orgasm I ever had.
“Never in a million years did I think I would be
having phone sex with someone I hadn’t fucked yet,” he voiced quietly. “Sleep
now, Agata. I’ll see you in my dreams.”
He hung up before
I could respond. I closed my eyes knowing tomorrow I would be a different
Agata, but tonight I would allow what happened to soothe me.
EXCERPT #2:
EXCERPT 2:
He walked up to the counter and prepared a glass of
orange juice. He grabbed a bowl and poured butternut squash soup into it. He
prepared a cup of coffee and reheated a box of pizza and a bowl of spaghetti.
“Let’s eat.” He ordered and sat across from me. He
stirred his coffee without taking his eyes off me.
“Thank you. It smells really good.” I gave him a
grateful smile. Knowing he cooked for me, intentionally, on a day that meant
nothing to the rest of the world, meant everything to me.
“Are you feeling better now?” he asked and shoved a
spoonful of spaghetti in his mouth.
“Yeah, thank you.”
“If you were wondering if I was the one who changed
your clothes, no. It wasn’t me, Tatiana did that; she was here earlier.”
“Oh, I see.” I nodded and began to sip my soup. I felt
the liquid pour down my throat. The warmth of the soup enveloped my lungs and
felt so good. “You shouldn’t have gone through all the trouble of bringing me
here. You could have dropped me off at my dorm and left me there.”
“If I want to fucking spend time with you, I will,
okay? I wanted to make sure you’re fine.”
There he went again changing moods. I swear there had
to be something mentally wrong with this guy. No other person in my life
frustrated me as much as he.
“Well, aren’t you sweet?” I smirked.
“So you want to tell me what happened this afternoon?
What were you doing out in the storm, Agata? Are you trying to kill yourself?”
One quick bite then he got down to business.
My breath caught in my throat. I really didn’t want to
tell him.
“I was…” I paused and bit my lip. I wasn’t sure how to
phrase it, “…finishing a task.”
Reeve paused with a fork halfway to his mouth. “Task?”
he asked with a raised eyebrow. I didn’t answer. “Sorority task?”
I mentally face palmed and nodded in confirmation.
“How long did I stay out there? You think I lasted thirty minutes out there?”
“I knew it,” he stated, shaking his head. “Agata, I
don’t give a damn if you finished that fucking task or not. You scared the shit
out of me; don’t you know that? You’re not joining the sorority.”
“I have the right reasons for joining.” I bit my lip.
“Reasons?” He gave me a confused look.
“The sisterhood is important to me.” I thought of
giving him some lame excuse.
The room grew still. He stared at me, his face blank,
and I couldn’t move.
“Are you kidding me?” His gaze was unyielding. “You
think the sorority will save you from dying out there? They don’t give a damn,
Agata!”
“It’s part of the process,” I reasoned out.
“That’s ridiculous.”
“You should have known it. You’re part of the
organization.”
 “That’s why I
don’t want you in!” He threw his napkin on his plate and shot up to his feet. I
remained silent and gazed at my food. “Agata, what’s gotten into you?” His
words almost forced me to look at him.
“I’m leaving.” I stood from my chair but he grabbed my
hand and pinned me to the wall. “For once, I wanted to do something for myself
without thinking of whatever people might say,” I spat.
He released a heavy sigh and ran his fingers through
his hair. “Agata, after three and a half years you thought of joining a
sorority? For what?”
My chest rose and fell erratically as I met his eyes.
“Once I finish my task and pass the initiation, I’ll be one of them. By that
time, I can tell if this guy who keeps giving me mixed signals really feels
something for me. They say he
only
dates
sorority girls. If he will not date me, then it’s confirmed—he’s only messing
around with me.”
I didn’t move a muscle as his eyes burned back into
mine. A shaky gasp escaped from my lips and I flinched as he reached for my
face. After pausing momentarily to observe my reaction, he went on to gingerly
brush my tangled hair from my face.
“Agata, you’re not the type I want to date.”
I couldn’t speak. I couldn’t move. I couldn’t breathe.
His words grated against my ears and it hurt like a bitch.
“You’re not someone I want to take out for dinner,
walk home, kiss goodnight, nor say goodbye.”
He didn’t stop tearing with the knife, and pierced
through the walls of my heart.
“Because you know what, Agata? I don’t want to just
date you and walk you home. You’re someone I want to come home to, someone I
want to cook dinner with, to sleep with, to kiss hard, and fuck harder.”
The words snapped out of his mouth quick enough to
petrify me. I looked up at him; his plump lips were pursed into a stern frown.
His eyes were darkened, no time for bullshit. I bit my lip, and with every
second that I didn’t reply his face grew more and more serious.
A small smile crept upon my lips and I looked away to
hide my flushed cheeks. I couldn’t contain my happiness. I wondered how my mood
had changed so drastically in this conversation.
He smiled, bringing his thumb up to graze my cheek.
“You’re blushing.”
I reached up and quickly wiped my cheeks.
“Now, are you still joining the sorority?”
He came closer.
Our noses were almost touching, his eyes never leaving mine. I held my breath.
I closed my eyes. He was going to kiss me. I could almost feel the touch of his
lips on mine, his breath in my lungs. He leaned down, then I heard my stomach
growl in hunger, which caused Reeve to chuckle.
“Hungry? Come on,
let’s continue to eat.”

Excerpt #1

“So Mortal Combat or that racing game you like?”

Skylar makes his pouty face at me. “What is it with you and Mortal Combat? You know the 90’s have passed, right?”

“It’s the only one I can beat you at,” I admit. “So it’s my favorite.”

“For now, right?”

“What’s that supposed to mean?”

He sighs and hands me my controller. “Well, last week that fucking annoying ass Justin Bieber song was your favorite. Then yesterday you changed the channel when it came on—said you were sick of it. Not that I’m complaining.”

I open my mouth to argue but he rushes on.

“Those shoes, the red ones you bought when we went to the mall last week? You kicked them into the back of your closet after wearing them once.”

Geez. Why the sudden interest in my shoes?

“I’m sorry, Sky. Did you want to borrow them?” I smirk, but he levels me with a hard glare. I have no idea why he’s so uptight about footwear.

“You’re missing the point.”

“I didn’t realize there was one.” My mouth is suddenly dry. I thought we were going to hang out and play games like the other night. Clearly something is on his mind.

“You toss everything aside when it stops holding your interest, when the new wears off. You get bored easily.”

“And this is a problem because…”

He smiles, but it doesn’t feel real. “Ever had a bad break up, Corin? Ever been so upset that a relationship ended that you cried yourself to sleep?”

More like I cried because I was in a relationship. “God no. Every break up I ever had was like ‘good riddance.’ You know?”

He nods as if he does in fact know and I can’t put my finger on exactly why, but the arrogance dancing across his face pisses me off.

I narrow my eyes as he returns his attention to the animated players facing off on the screen. “You trying to say something? If you are, go ahead and say it.”

He’s judging me, I think. That really fucking sucks. He was the one person that I never felt like that with, the one that never seemed to judge me. Aside from Layla, and even I see how her eyes go wide sometimes when I say something she finds shocking or appalling. But never Skylar. And now he is.

“Skylar.” I put my controller down because like hell I am hanging out with him if he’s going to be a judgmental prick.

He turns to me with raised brows.

“So I like new stuff, so I don’t wear the same old stuff over and over. Maybe I had to do that my whole life and I hated it. So yeah, I work hard so I can buy red stilettos I’ll only wear once. I don’t need your fucking approval.” My voice breaks, damn him to hell.

I don’t know why his few words feel like needle sticks to my soul but they do. Shoving up off the floor, I snatch my black flats up and prepare to leave. Layla and Landen are in the dorm so I don’t know where I’ll go, but I’ll figure something out.

“Hey,” he says evenly, grabbing my wrist and pulling me down awkwardly into his lap. “Calm down.”

I swallow and resist the urge to bolt. Breathing heavily, I look into his eyes. “What’s with the psychoanalysis, Sky? I do something to make you mad?”

He shakes his head no. “No, babe. You didn’t. I didn’t mean to be an ass about it. I just thought I should warn you.”

I lean back a bit because sitting on top of him like this is doing things to me. I’m tingling everywhere our bodies are touching while he remains perfectly calm and collected. “Warn me about what?”

His lips curl slowly upward and he leans his forehead in until it rests on mine. “I see you, how you are. How things catch your eye briefly before you move on to the next shiny thing before you get too attached.” I wiggle in frustration, but his hands hold me to his lap. “It’s not going to be that easy with me. I just thought you should know.”

“I’ve never had trouble moving on…from anyone.” Not even my own mother, not that he needs to know about her.

“Because you never met anyone worth missing. Until now.”

I huff out a breath, because for some majorly messed up reason, I think he might be right. “Can we just play the damn game, Skylar?” I gesture to the television and he nods.

His lips flatten a bit before he smirks again. “Sure, sweetheart. We can play the game. If that’s what you want.”

Something tells me we aren’t talking about Mortal Combat anymore. My heart is pounding as I slide off of his lap over into my spot. I wipe my sweat slick palms on my jeans and face the screen. Why am I so worked up over this weird ass conversation?

Because you never met anyone worth missing.

Until now.

Excerpt #2

The moment Blondie sees Landen watching her like a hawk, she goes all deer in headlights and spins away from Red before disappearing into the crowd.

Landen mumbles something about being right back and dips out on me as soon as the waitress drops off our beers. More for me, I suppose.

I keep an eye out on my roommate in case he rockets off into another rage-filled fit, but so far he’s just talking with his blonde blast from the past at the bar. Close talking. Her body language says she’s into it, so I return my attention to my drink. “Here we go again,” I mutter under my breath. If the scene taking place at the bar is any indication, I’m in for another night of angst-filled insanity when all I want to do is drink, dance, and get laid. I never intended to be the sidekick to the craziest motherfucker on campus and yet, apparently that has become my lot in life. Clearly the universe is punishing me for getting more than my share of ass in high school. Greed is a sin, after all. So is lust. And gluttony and…whatever. I’m probably going to Hell regardless. My dad’s half Jewish and my mom’s Catholic. Not sure what that makes me but we only attended any kind of services on rare holidays so I’m probably screwed already.

“You saving this one for someone special?”

The voice is feminine and familiar. It warms my blood and turns me on all at once.

Red. Her crimson nails trail the neck of the Bud Light bottle before she lifts it to her similarly stained lips. My cock twitches hard in her direction.

“I was, but I guess he got a better offer.” I nod toward the bar where our roommates are practically taking body shots off one another. “So glad the kids are playing nice this evening.”

“And what about you, Skylar? Do you play nice?”

Her silvery cobalt blue dress reminds me of smoke blown into the dark and hugs her curves in all the right places. I want to lick every inch of her. Twice.

I stand to join her on the dance floor, grabbing my beer as I go. “No, sweetheart. I don’t.”

The tiniest hint of a smile lifts one corner of her mouth. “Then how do you play?”

I lead her onto the floor, pulling her backside close to my front so I can whisper my answer in her ear loud enough to be heard over the music.

“Dirty, Red. I play dirty.”

Excerpt #3

“Night night, kids,” I say before exiting the room and sliding the door shut.

“Sounded like that went well,” Skylar greets me on the other side.

I close my eyes. I’d throw the blanket at him if I wasn’t worried there might be broken glass in it. “I am not smooth,” is all I say.

“What happened?” Skylar points to my right hand, which has a trickle of blood running down the side of it.

I set the blankets and pillows on the futon so I can inspect my wound. “Basically I’m clumsy as hell and incapable of not destroying everything in my path. Picture frame broke.” Blood has never really bothered me but I’m tired and starting to feel a little light-headed.

“Come here,” he says, leading me into the bathroom.

Skylar is surprisingly gentle as he cleans and bandages the minuscule cut on my hand like a pro. I guess being an athlete prepares you for these kinds of things.

“Why are we always getting injured around those two?” I almost laugh. “Seriously, they’re the ones in the angsty relationship and the two of us are just innocent bystanders that keep getting smacked with debris. And we aren’t even the ones getting to have all the hot sweaty college dorm room sex. I feel like we’re getting the raw end of the deal here.”

The affection in Skylar’s hazel eyes turns from sweet, nurturing concern to liquid heat. “You feel ready for hot sweaty sex, sweetheart, you let me know. Dorm room or otherwise.”

Excerpt #4

“You’re like something out of dream,” he says with a voice full of reference. “I don’t deserve you.”

I push him backward until he’s against the wall and remove his clothes strategically, kissing each new part of him that’s revealed to me. “No more talking. No more thinking. No more worries. Not tonight. It will all be there tomorrow.”

He nods but his eyes are still clouded with concern.

“Just be with me tonight, soccer boy. Me and you. No one else. Be with me. Inside me. Make it all go away for tonight.”

I drop to my knees, taking Skylar’s thick length in my hands. He’s hard already, which makes it easier to lose myself in giving him what he needs.

I place gentle licks against the swollen head of him and am rewarded with the taste of his arousal. When I take him all the way to the back of my throat, he groans loudly and lets his head fall back against the wall.

“A fucking dream,” he murmurs when I hollow my cheeks and suck him harder. I add my right hand to the mix, stroking the path I’m taking into my warm wet mouth. My left hand grips his inner thigh and I let my nails scrape lightly against his skin.

His cock jerks in my mouth and just as I’m certain he’s about to come apart, I’m lifted abruptly off the ground and thrown roughly only the bed. He stalks toward me and there is nothing else in the world right now. Just us. Just this. What we both need so badly.

Excerpt #5

Skylar’s jaw clenches and frustration rolls off of him in waves, slamming all around my tiny room with nowhere to go.

“I shouldn’t have been pressuring you, saying the things I was. After everything you’ve—”

“No. Stop.” I put my hand out and touch his arm. “Not the same thing. I get that you thought I was a good time girl—hell, I used to be—so you were trying to get in my pants. We’re attracted to each other and we flirt. Yeah, sometimes it’s a little over the top, but I’m a big girl now. I can handle it. You are nothing like—”

“I’m exactly fucking like him,” Skylar explodes upward, propelling off my bed so hard I’m scared for him. “You moved across the goddamn country to get away from guys like that, guys who only wanted one thing, only to run smack into me. And there I was at every turn trying to convince you to sleep with me.”

I shake my head but I can see that he’s beyond reach. “Still not the same, Sky. You never manipulated or threatened me or made me feel afraid. If I was any other girl, then it wouldn’t even matter.”

“Jesus Christ, Corin. Don’t make excuses for me. How do you even fucking stand me? Because right now, I honestly can’t stand myself.”

With that, Skylar bolts for the door.

“Please don’t,” I call out just before he grabs the knob. “Don’t leave, Sky. Please. I really don’t want to be alone and it’s not exactly safe for you to be walking around at night…in your underwear.”

He eyes meet mine and I can see that he’s torn. He has all this excess energy to burn and nowhere to put it. He’s angry—at me, at himself, at the situation—I can’t be sure. But it’s there, white-hot anger contorting his beautiful, usually carefree features.

“You should slap me. Or knee me in the balls. Something. I deserve some sort of punishment for how I’ve treated you.”

I bite my lip as if contemplating my options, desperate to change the heavy, depressing mood. “I could spank you. Once for each dirty thing you’ve said to me. So…a lot.”

TBRreview

Give Me You was definitely not what I was expecting.  And I didn’t read Keep Me Still which features the start of Skylar and Corin’s story.  So it’s not needed to read Keep Me Still first but it’s a good idea.  Although now I want to go back and read it.

Skylar is initially the guy you can’t stand – hot and knows it, cocky, a man whore and thinks he is that charming.  Corin definitely is not that type.  So Skylar was in for a shock with a girl like Corin.

Corin has quite the past.  And your heart just goes out to the girl.  At the same time that you want to high-five her for being so spunky.  She likes Skylar but she isn’t going to make it easy on him.

This book covers more than just them meeting in college and I like that in a book.  Sometimes I want to read about a character’s future rather than leaving it up in the air.

Adding Keep Me Still to my TBR to read.  Because I need more!!!

5 stars!
