About Listen to Your Heart:
Wedding planner Skye Douglas makes a career out of bringing fairytales to life—even if she’s given up on her own happily ever after. Instead of dating, she devotes time to her nephew, a guitar prodigy who shares her love for 80s hair bands. When she encounters Caleb Lynch, the new guitar teacher, everything changes. Caleb’s passion for music—not to mention his Def Leppard T-shirt—makes Skye wonder if she might get her storybook ending after all.
Caleb would do anything for those he loves—including a fake engagement as a gift to his best friend’s dying mother. But after meeting Skye, he regrets the promise he made.
When Skye realizes she’s fallen for the groom, will she listen to her head . . . or her heart?
My mouth snaps closed when I finally spot my nephew. Sitting next to him is a man wearing a leather jacket with a Def Leppard T-shirt peeking through. He’s holdaing a guitar and showing Eli how to make a chord. My heart starts to pound as I watch the new music teacher interact with Eli and the rest of the kids. He’s soft-spoken and patient, and when the kids strum their guitars in perfect unison, his face morphs into the most toe-curling smile I’ve ever seen on a man. Suddenly, he lifts his head and his eyes find mine.
“Wow,” I whisper.
He doesn’t look like a teacher. He looks like a rock star, with his grungy clothes and his jet-black hair that’s just long enough to curl around the nape of his neck.
When class is dismissed, the mothers rush toward the new music teacher, shaking his hand and offering their business cards, just in case he ever needs to reach them. Equally disgusted and impressed with their blatant flirting—and far too shy to participate myself—I find Eli and all but shove him toward the door. He tugs on my hand.
“Aunt Skye, wait . . . I want you to meet Caleb.”
“Could I meet him later? He seems really busy, Eli.”
My nephew shakes his head and pulls me toward the mommy mob. I’m being ridiculous, I know. An hour ago, I was a happy, career-driven woman who didn’t need a man to make her life complete. Now I’m nervous and sweaty and acting like a girl with a high school crush.
Guess it doesn’t matter how old you are. Pretty boys make you stupid.
I sneakily rub my clammy palms on my slacks just as the seas part, and suddenly, I find myself staring into the deep blue eyes of the new music teacher.
Pretty boys are even prettier up close.
And we’re just staring at each other.
My totally oblivious nephew grows impatient with all the staring and starts making the introductions.
“This is my Aunt Skye.”
He offers me his hand. “Hey, Aunt Skye. I’m Caleb.”
“It’s nice to meet you.”
“Pleasure’s all mine.”
“Eli’s really excited that you’ll be taking Ms. Carol’s place for a while. I mean, he loves her, obviously, but we all understand that she needs this time away, and it’s good to know that he’s in good hands and we just really appreciate . . . everything.”
I’m babbling, but he’s nice enough to stand there and smile at me while I do.
And he’s still holding my hand.
“Do you like music?” Caleb asks.
“She’s obsessed with it,” Eli replies, and I’m suddenly reminded that there’s a ten year old standing between us. Caleb must realize it at the same time, because he loudly clears his throat and let’s go of my hand.
“Well, Eli is an excellent guitarist. I’m looking forward to working with him.”
“Thanks. We’re really proud of him.”
“You should be.”
Eli beams as Caleb pats him on the shoulder.
We stand awkwardly staring at each other for a few more minutes until Eli’s growling stomach breaks the spell. We all laugh.
“I should feed him. It was nice meeting you, Caleb.”
“Burger Palace?” Eli pleads.
Caleb chuckles. “They do have the best burgers.”
“You should come with us!”
Caleb’s eyes dart to mine.
“Umm . . .” Not that I have a problem spending more time with Caleb. I’m just not sure a trip to Burger Palace is his idea of a good time.
“I’d love to, if it’s okay with your Aunt Skye.”
Eli looks up at me with wide, hopeful eyes.
“Is it okay with my Aunt Skye?”
I laugh. “Sure, it’s okay.”
Caleb’s answering smile makes my body tremble in a way that it hasn’t trembled in . . . ever.
I’m in trouble.

Secrets ruin lives, and lies protect those secrets…
Wanting to escape her life in New York City before starting medical school in the fall, Anna Dillon convinces her best friend Dante to travel with her to Thailand on a medical mission. While volunteering in a coastal village recently ravaged by a tsunami, Anna meets Jude Grayson. They share an instant attraction that leads to a brief, passionate affair. When she has to rush home for a family emergency, he promises to stay in touch.
But Jude never calls, and Anna tries desperately to forget him.
Five years pass, and Anna finally moves on with Dante after giving up hope that Jude will ever return—until they come face to face again in a chance encounter. Reeling, Anna discovers the life-altering secret of why Jude never contacted her—and why they can’t be together. But the passion that ignited between them on an exotic beach years ago never died, making it impossible to stay away from each other.
And Dante? Anna discovers that the friend she grew to love—and trust—has a secret of his own.
This book is something just about everyone should read. It’s the story of Anna and the choices she makes on her route of self discovery. She’s going through a rough time and just needed to get away from her mom, her dad and her life as a whole. So she goes to treat people in Thailand with her best friend, Dante.
While there, she is healing, or trying to, when she meets Jude. Jude is a theology student on the way to the seminary. Jude and Anna challenge each other and their beliefs in what their lives are supposed to be. They fall for each other but then Anna never hears from Jude when she goes back to the US.
5 years later, Anna sees Jude and all hell breaks loose in Anna’s life.
That’s all I’m saying because SO much happens you need to read it yourself.

Christine Brae is a full time career woman who thought she could write a book about her life and then run away as far as possible from it. She never imagined that her words would touch the hearts of so many women with the same story to tell. That’s what happened with her first book, The Light in the Wound (2013). Christine followed that title with His Wounded Light and then Insipid (2014). In This Life (Vesuvian Books) is her fourth book. The traditionally published title has already been optioned for Film/TV.
When not listening to the voices in her head or spending late nights at the office, Christine can be seen shopping for shoes and purses, running a half marathon or spending time with her husband and three children in Chicago.
Paige Hill, a recovered burn victim, lost everything in her family’s house fire. As she picks up the pieces and enters college with the help of her best friend, Clay Forbes walks into her life…and everything changes. The sexy, bad-boy soccer star turns Paige’s world upside down in the best way. But when his ex decides she’ll do whatever it takes to get rid of Paige, their romance could be cut short…and so could someone’s life.
Book 2: SETTLING ASHES (Clay and Paige, continued)
Clay Forbes’ mission in life? Prove he’s innocent of murder and find his girlfriend Paige so that he can fix the damage that’s been done. Before it’s too late. There’s only one problem: he has no idea where Paige is, and she’s taken off with her old high-school sweetheart, Beau. Tracking her down won’t be easy and convincing her of his love will be even harder, especially when there’s still a murderer at large in their small college town.
Book 3: ASHES ADRIFT (Gillian and Drew)
Gillian Ambrose has her act together. She’s nearly finished with her Fashion degree, she’s launching a successful lingerie line, and she’s left the scars from her past back in her old hometown. Until her brother is released from prison and the all drama she left behind comes barreling back again.
Drew Garrick never planned to fall for Gillian. They were thrown together again and again when their best friends began dating. One night with her in his bed to get her out of his system, that’s all he wanted. But now that her brother is back in town and he’s asked Drew to protect Gillian from his revenge-seeking enemies, Drew has to admit the truth to himself: he fell for Gill when she fell into his bed. And now, there’s no going back.
EXCERPT
When I reached her little belly button I used my tongue to swirl a hot, wet circle around it. She squirmed underneath of me, and I stilled her writhing with a firm hand on her outer thigh.
“Still,” I whispered. “I’m just getting started with you.”
In response, she bucked her hips and I grinned against the soft skin of her pelvis. Gillian never liked to be ordered around. Not even in the bedroom. It was a constant tug-of-war between us that I’d grown to anticipate and love.
I paused, looking up at her. She emitted this sexy little growl in response, and I waited until she was still before I danced my tongue around the very hot, wet center of her.
Humming in delight, I stroked her again and again, and held her hips firmly against her mattress as she moaned my name.
As her tight little muscles clenched underneath me, I gave one last lap of my tongue and held her as she fell apart. Shock and awe rippled through my entire body, starting with my dick, at the fact that I could bring this girl to the brink this way. It never got old.
This would never get old.
It was something I’d recently realized. At the beginning, I was so sure I’d get the girl out of my system eventually.
Now I was sure that would never, ever happen.
MY REVIEW
I hadn’t ever heard of this series before but after reading this series over the past day and a half, I’m so glad I did!!!
Starting this series, you get so wrapped up in their stories and their lives. Yes, Paige and Clay are the first 2 books but you get to meet all their friends and learn their friendships and bonds. It’s not just the story of the couple, its the story of all their friends and how each event affects them all.
The one thing that kinda threw me was just how much happens to these poor people. One person’s problems get solved and another’s start. And they’re bigger and badder than the previous ones.
I want everyone to go start this series but just fair warning, it will make you want more and die for the next couples’. Not telling you who, you have to read and find out!

Meet Tobias Banger… He’s the demanding, dominate, sexy-as-sin CEO of Banger Industries, and he’s used to getting what he wants. Every time. He’s built a Fortune 500 company from the ground up–the last thing he needs is a pretty woman distracting him from his empire. Curvy, sassy, Ellis Ford isn’t just any pretty woman… Fresh out of college, she’s smart, quiet, driven, and trying desperately to contain the wildfire that licks at her insides whenever Mr Banger calls her name. One forbidden night locked in a closet and the office will never be the same… The chemistry between Ellis and Tobias sizzles until raw passion ignites in a frenzy of filthy words, frantic lust, and all-consuming basic instinct. He’s hell bent on claiming her, she’s too blinded by rogue charm to see the ghosts haunting his dark eyes. Will one night with Tobias be something she’ll live to regret?
“So why don’t you celebrate your birthday?” Ellis shrugged. “Getting another year older doesn’t seem like something to celebrate.” But her eyes lit up when the waiter set a decadent slice of double chocolate cake between us. “I disagree. It’s a time to reflect on all the things you’ve done in the past year, and maybe a few of the things you haven’t done that you’d like to.” I pushed my fork into the rich dessert then held the bite out to her. Her eyes rose for a minute before she composed herself. “I’m always a gentleman. And celebrating another year of your birth makes me happy.” Ellis took the bite off of my fork. With her eyes closed and her lips wrapped around that little hunk of metal, my cock throbbed as though it were caught in a vise. I wanted this woman. I wanted to know her, to be with her, to talk to her, to be everything for her. “This is amazing,” she finally said. “You make it look irresistible.” I shifted in my chair, trying to discreetly shift my cock in my pants. “I make it a rule to avoid office romance, but you’re changing all the rules on me.” The words were out of my mouth before I could stop them. “What?” Ellis’s eyes flicked to mine. “Since the day you started in my office, I’ve been fighting myself. So many things I’ve wanted to say, so many times I’ve wanted to touch…” I traced a fingertip across her wrist. “T-touch what?” Ellis asked, the pulse in her neck fluttering like a hummingbird. “Well, for instance, right now I want to lick the hollow of your neck where I can see your heartbeat going wild.” Ellis covered her throat with a palm, before dropping her hand into her lap and licking her lips. Her eyes darted away. “I don’t think this is a good idea…” “I can’t think of a better one.” I ran the pad of my thumb across her cheekbone. Her eyes fluttered closed as she shifted beneath my touch. “I’m not the kind of girl who sleeps her way to the top, Mr. Banger.” I was shocked by her words—and her insinuation. “And I’m not the kind of man who expects sexual favors as payment. I don’t take advantage of women, Ellis. I have the utmost respect for you and all of the other women in my office.” I needed her to know that I was a man of integrity. Women weren’t toys to me, they were my equal. “But…” She sucked her bottom lip between her teeth before looking at me. “Why me then?” I shook my head, threading her fingers through my own and giving her hand a squeeze. “Because you beguile me. Your mind is one of the most brilliant I have ever come across. You’re loyal, strong and compassionate. You can put up with my shit, and I know that’s not easy. I admire all those traits. I have never met another person who is as amazing as you.” I leaned across the table and whispered, “And I can’t stop thinking about what your lips would feel like against mine.”

Blurb From the outside looking in, Sarah and Liam’s bond has been unbreakable since the moment they first laid eyes on each other.
Love, romance, and friendship should form the ropes that tether them together.
But when old insecurities rise to the surface, Sarah loses sight of her self-worth and feels her identity fading. Faced with a choice that threatens to fray those ties, she finally begins to unravel.
Until one day, those ropes snap, that bond is broken, and their relationship sent spiralling off course.
It only takes one defining moment.
One look.
One dance.
One conversation.
Sarah knows from the second she meets Liam that their connection is more than just instant attraction. It’s deep, it’s consuming, and has the potential to be the real thing. But true love comes at a price.
Fuelled by Liam’s past, Sarah’s issues, and a messy web of family ties, business partnerships, and exes, the combined forces threaten to snuff out their new found relationship.
Will that spark be smothered by outside forces? Or will they be carried like smoke from the ashes and sent spiralling skywards?
Written in Lesley Jones’ usual heartfelt, witty, and emotional voice, this dual point of view story is just the beginning of her Spiralling series.
Fractions of seconds can do lots of damage. One decision can ruin lives. A blink can be tragic. And loving a Hollister…can hurt like hell.
I would know.
They say the average person can hold their breath under water for two full minutes when pushed to the extremes. Will Hollister has been holding his for years. The oldest of two elite swimming brothers, Will was always a dominant force in the water. But in life, he preferred to let his younger
brother Evan be the one to shine.
Evan got the girl, and Will…he got to bury all of the secrets. A brother’s burden, the weight of it all nearly left him to drown.
The daughter of two Olympians, my path was set the day my fingertips first touched water. My future was as crystal clear as the lane I dominated in the pool—swim hard, win big, love a Hollister.
My life with Evan burned bright. He gave me arms to come home to, and a smile that fooled the world into believing everything was perfect. But it was Will who pushed me. Will…who really knew me.
And when all of the pieces fell, it was Will who started to pick them up.
In the end, the only thing that matters are those few precious seconds—and what we decide to do while we still have them in our grasp.
Excerpt:
“I need you to stay, Will,” she says. “No matter what…if you lose, if I lose. If this gets hard, whatever this is. I need you to stay until we figure it out. And even then, I just think…”
She lifts her head, and I cup her face in my hands, her eyes locking on mine.
“I think I just need you to stay,” she says.
I stare at her for several seconds, holding my breath, my mind racing with all of my demons, with everyone else’s demons, too. I fear none of it is possible. I’m going to break her heart. Those demons—they’ll destroy her.
But I can’t give her up. I need her to stay, too. Even though I can’t promise it; even though I shouldn’t, I say exactly what she needs to hear.
I let myself believe it for the breath it takes to speak.
“Okay,” I say, bringing her lips to mine, kissing her softly then closing my eyes as her forehead rests against mine. “Okay,” I whisper again.
I may have to break this promise, but for right now…for right now, I mean it.

I’ll be her only. Maggie I didn’t know I could have a friendship like the one I have with Felix. But the friend-zone wall has always been in place. Being too afraid to cross it, I’d rather be in Felix’s life than tarnish the relationship we have. Too much time has past. I’m done being afraid of the what-ifs. Felix Maggie doesn’t know the lengths I’ll go to keep her in my life, but she will, because the very idea of her with someone else is not something I’ll even entertain. She’s always been mine, and it’s time I step up and show her how much I love her.
My devotion for her goes to the very depths of my soul, and staying back as she lives her life without me by her side is absolutely not an option. Warning: This story is so sweet it might give you a stomachache, but it will be worth it. Short, straight to the point, and drama-free, be prepared to fall in love with this devoted hero who will go to any lengths to make the woman he loves his. A safe, overly happy read that will have you wishing you had a Felix in your life.
“We can go as slow or fast as you want.” I lifted my hand and cupped the side of her neck, pulling her head slightly toward mine. We were just an inch apart, sharing the same air, the sweet scent that saturated her filling my head. “How about we start with you kissing me?” Her voice was low, heated. I didn’t stop myself then. I tilted my head, and slanted my mouth on hers. A groan was ripped from me instantly. She was so perfect, so soft … so mine. Maggie loved me. The one girl I would die for wanted me. The way she gasped against my mouth and let me have my way with her had me so fucking turned on. I had no doubts I’d come in my jeans like a damn teenager. “Hold on to me, baby,” I couldn’t stop myself from saying. She lifted her arms, wound them around my neck, and rose on her toes so she was totally flush with me. There was no spot on her I wouldn’t eventually touch. My cock jerked behind my jeans, and I wanted more. I needed more from her. The rope in me started to unravel, and knew if I didn’t grapple with my control, I could lose it and ruin this. I didn’t want to go too fast, didn’t want to be too rough with my passion.
I wanted to make sure she felt good, that she was right here with me. She dug her nails into the flesh at my back, and my entire body grew tighter, hotter. “I need you so bad,” I said and found myself walking her backward, toward the bed. I tangled my hands around her hair, tugging at the strands. “Don’t stop,” Maggie gasped against my mouth. I groaned again. “I have no fucking plans to.” I thrust my tongue into her mouth, this guttural sound leaving me. I used my other hand to span her back, keeping her close. I stroked my tongue along hers and pulled it deeper into my mouth. She moaned for me. I found myself pressing my dick against her belly, the softness of her stomach against the rock hardness of my dick making my balls draw up tightly. “You have no idea how much I want you right now.” I pulled back and looked into her pleasure-filled face. “Probably about as much as I want you?” My heart jackknifed in my chest.
“I want you to be my first and only, Maggie.” I wasn’t ashamed or embarrassed in the slightest to admit I’d never had sex. I’d saved myself for this girl, for the chance to show her with my body what she meant to me. No other girl had ever compared to her, never even crossed my mind. Maggie was it from the very beginning. I was possessive of her, obsessed with her, and there was nothing in this world I wouldn’t do for her. “Let me show you how special you are to me.” I stared into her eyes.
Felix has loved Maggie since she walked into his class at age 6. He decided right then and there, she was his and he was never letting her go.
Maggie has a rougher childhood and the only good thing is her friendship with Felix. That has grown more to love and being in love with him for years.
This was a quick read that I read while taking a break at work. It was sweet how Felix was always caring for Maggie and protecting her and just being her constant in a crappy childhood.
