Ben & Grace’s story is amazing! Ben’s love is so deep and lasting. You just want to hope you find a love like it. It’s just so deep and palpable. You can feel it as you’re reading their story. And the writing conveyed how devastated and heartbroken Ben truly was, was on point! I was close to tears as I read it and almost cheered in my cubicle when Ben thinks he’s found her.

I haven’t had to lose a love like Ben & Grace’s (thankfully) so I can’t imagine the pain, sheer agony Ben (or anyone) in that situation can feel but this story made me feel it. Ben and Grace’s story is so amazing and I couldn’t imagine having to go through all they had. But it definitely proves that love can conquer all.

What is wrong with me? I’ve seen him shirtless before. Hell, I’ve seen him strip down to a thong, and it didn’t affect me like this. Is it just because we’re in a room together with a bed conveniently located a few feet away?

“Your cheeks are red,” he points out, amusement dancing in his eyes.

“It’s warm in here.”

“Uh-huh.” He digs into the pizza, grinning at me. “You want me. It’s okay. Perfectly natural.”

“I do not want you!”

“Your pointy nipples say different.”

“Can’t you just shut up and eat?”

“Absolutely.” He manages about thirty seconds of silence before adding, “We don’t have to sleep together. I can just give you the zombie.”

I’m totally going to regret asking, but I can’t resist. “What the hell is the zombie?”

“You just lie back and get eaten.”

My mind crafts a picture of his blond head between my legs and I shift in my seat. “You heard the part about there being no sex on this trip, right?”

“Yeah, but that was before you started objectifying me.”

I’m going to strangle him. “You’re the one prancing around naked. I know you’re an exhibitionist and all, but you can pack it away for a week. I don’t need to see it.”

“Fine.” He sits back and takes a drink. “But since I showed you mine, it’s only fair that…”

“Forget it,” I laugh, and he smiles at me.

“Just the boobs?”

“Nope.”

“You’re no fun.”

I devoured this series! Why had I not read S.M. Shade before?! I was having a bad day and had Worth It (that S.M. co-wrote) and LOVED it. So then I was very excited to start this series. And I am anal about what I read and have to read books in order. So I had 2 more books to read prior to this but OMG was that such a great decision! This series is quite amazing. I love all the guys relationships and how they all tease each other but they truly love each other.

And through both books 1 & 2, I was so curious about stripper (oops exotic dancer) Justus. I knew there would be something deeper to how he is the way he is. And the tension between him and Sadie. And just how he was so willing to leap to Sadie’s defense and to be her friend, when she needed it the most.

I can’t wait for more of this series!!

Her lips quirked as she stared at my chest, her fingers still on my buttons. “I’m not getting paid enough for this,” she muttered as her phone chirped. “That must be the car.”
Cool air and unspoken promises swirled between us as she stepped away from me to usher me out the door into the rain. I gallantly held the car door open for her. She jumped in and twisted around, her trench coat trapped underneath her.
“Get in, get in,” she urged from the back seat. “This is no time to be a gentleman!”
“Well, if you say so.” I hopped in the back seat beside her, already damp from the spring shower. She didn’t scoot back that much, leaving us close together. In the darkness of the car, her knees touched mine. We both paused, a fragile bubble of anticipation around us in the quiet of the car. I heard, rather than saw her lick her lips, and her breath was short and shaky. It was about damn time.
“Luke—”
“You said it was no time to be a gentleman,” I reminded her, before covering her mouth with mine.

I trust this woman more than I should. I have to remind myself that I don’t know her the way I feel like I do. Watching her the past few months has been some of the best and worst times of my life. I use my free hand to find a place to put my ass on the edge of the couch and I sit down. I keep my face close to Shelby’s, my hand ensuring she doesn’t create a distance between us, and I stroke my thumb just below the line of her jaw. She sucks in a breath, which excites me. I’ve been wanting to do this for months. Ever since she first turned up in the investigation. The thought that my simple touch sends shivers down her spine and sends her heart racing has me at half-mast. Seeing her reaction to my touch weakens my resolve, and for a split second, I let myself get sucked in.
“You’re good,” she whispers after a long pause. She speaks so quietly I can barely hear the words. “I’m not used to good, but I like it. I want more of it.”
I’ve given this woman more of myself than I had intended, and she’s given me practically nothing. Sure, I know things about her, but I don’t want to know them because I was watching her. I want to know them because she wants to share them with me. I need her to trust me enough to share things with me, especially because I suspect she’s in deeper with Abraham’s organization than she’s let on. The feds are looking to make an example out of her, despite the fact that her father’s the one who tipped them off to what she was doing. The only way I can save her and keep her out of jail is if she tells me how deep she’s really in this. Unfortunately, judging by the stubborn set of her jaw, I don’t think she’s just going to offer up what I want to know. All I want to do is save this stupid, beautiful girl and I already know that she’s not going to let me.
