“Do not cry. God. You look so god-damned beautiful. You knew this would never be anything. I took you, Imogen. Think about that, would you? I captured you. Enslaved you. Tormented you. Threatened you. Every day would be a reminder of that past.”
At last, the conclusion to the story of Imogen, a young maiden taken by her enemy on her wedding night by the mysterious and powerful Erik, is complete in this four-volume set, Tattered, Tormented, Threatened, and Tethered. Questions are answered, pasts are finally revealed, and as the war that brought this couple together comes to an end, can Imogen forgive Erik for what he is about to do?
Filled with mixed emotions about her undeniable feelings for her captor, Imogen struggles between hopes of freedom with the reality of first staying safe. As she learns the stories and legends of her captor’s history, so deeply intertwined with her own past, she begins to question everything. Fear, lust, jealousy, love, death, and ultimately truth explode all at once.
Messy. Complicated. Unexpected.
With cruel and unkind soldiers waiting to sink into and corrupt Imogen’s innocence, Imogen faces imminent danger and a cruel and humiliating test at the hands of Erik that leaves her more confused than ever. As another slave vies for and succeeds at getting Erik’s attention as well, is Imogen’s safety even a priority for him anymore? Or is he in love with someone else?
This dark, suspenseful romance puts the emotional gamut into a blender and hits the on button. What pieces will remain? You may want to go back and start the series over from the beginning to put it all back together. And maybe even again after that!

R.B. O’Brien has always been drawn to the more taboo side of storytelling, even as a young adult, from hiding books from strict Catholic parents as a teen to getting lost in the erotic sections of bookstores for hours. As a writer, O’Brien explores the darker, erotic nature of relationships, those riddled with the reality of insecurities and human folly, exposing the vulnerability, emotional turmoil, and occasional pain that can come from losing oneself in the heat of passion.
O’Brien holds a degree in English literature and happily resides in the Northeast of the United States. Her first series, the highly acclaimed Natalie’s Edge trilogy, is now available in ebook format, the third of which, Redemption, was nominated for the Golden Flogger Award for best BDSM romance. THORNE, O’Brien’s second dark romance suspense series is complete and available NOW, a tale where things are not what they seem. O’Brien has just released her award-winning series, formerly the Capture of Rosemary, The IMOGEN series.

Carol couldn’t remember how the standing date with her friends had begun. Perhaps it had existed before she and Violet had moved to Happily Inc and they’d simply been invited to join in. Regardless, it was one of her favorite times—enjoying a couple of hours with the women in her life.
The hosting duties rotated and whoever served as host chose either lunch or dinner and provided the entrée and drinks. Everyone else brought something and a good time was had by all.
If the weather cooperated, Carol always picked lunch when it was her turn. Her friends joined her out by the largest grove of trees on the faux savanna. Her father and uncle set out a big table and chairs for them. Carol had a camp stove where she heated the chicken she’d cooked that morning and would warm the tortillas. The other ingredients for the taco bar were ready in plastic containers and she’d made a sparkling pink non-alcoholic punch to add a festive touch.
“Hi!” Silver Tesdal called as she walked along the path. The tall, leggy platinum blonde carried a shopping bag in one hand. “I always feel as if I need a passport when I come here. I love it!”
They hugged, then Silver set down her bag. “I have the strangest dessert ever, but I think it’s a real find. We’ll have to see.”
Carol eyed the plain white bag. “Now I’m curious.”
“As you should be.”
Before Carol could ask more, the other women arrived. Her sister Violet, Natalie Kaleta from the gallery, Pallas Saunders who owned Weddings Out of the Box, and Wynne Beauchene, owner of the town’s graphic design and print store.
Violet, who knew about the tacos, had brought chips, dip and guacamole. The other women contributed a green salad and cookies. Carol reached for the champagne glasses she’d carted along, then nodded at Pallas who was doing her best not to grin too broadly.
“Show them,” Carol told her friend.
Pallas laughed, then held out her left hand. A diamond solitaire sparkled on her ring finger.
Violet, Silver and Wynn shrieked, then lunged for their friend and started a group hug. Carol was waved in and they all hung on in celebration.
“How long?” Violet demanded when they’d released each other. “When did he propose?”
“Saturday at the Under the Sea wedding.”
Silver looked from the pink, bubbly drink to Carol. “You knew.”
Carol raised a shoulder. “I helped Nick pick out the ring. He had it narrowed down to three and texted me pictures from the jewelry store.” She’d been surprised Nick would ask her opinion but then had guessed he’d asked Mathias to name a woman who could be trusted not to spill the secret.
She smiled at Pallas. “So if you don’t like it, it’s my fault.”
Pallas clutched her left hand to her chest. “What’s not to like? It’s beautiful.”
Carol passed out the drinks and they all toasted their friend, then sat down to lunch. She quickly heated tortillas for everyone and they served themselves from the taco bar and salad, then took their seats.

I can’t decide if I liked book 1 or 2 more… Probably 2 just because there were animals and such a complex story with Mathias and Carol. And Violet and Ulrich as well.
Carol has been attracted to manwhore Mathias for a while but she knows she isn’t his type; she’s not an out of town bridesmaid who will be gone after a night together. But a girl can dream can’t she? Speaking of dreaming, she wants to get a herd of giraffe for her lone giraffe Millie. Which after the whole April pregnant giraffe giving birth thing, I have a new found appreciation for giraffes.
Mathias has had a little crush on Carol but he’s not going to do anything about it. Carol is way too good for him and he knows with his past, he can only have flings not relationships. But he’s still going to help her get her giraffe herd by any means necessary.
This was a funny, sweet, heartbreaking but amazing love story. I love the Happily Inc series and hope more is coming soon!!

Spence, still crouched low and easily balanced on the balls of his feet, dropped to his knees and pulled her up to hers. Brushing the hair from her forehead, he eyed the spot where they’d connected. “You okay?”
She started to say yes but his gaze slid to her mouth and she lost her train of thought, instead licking her suddenly dry lips.
Spence, watching the movement avidly, let out a rough breath. “Colbie,” he said quietly, in a very serious, very low octave that sounded like pure sex.
She stood up. “Y-yes?”
Also standing, he slid his hands up her arms, giving her a very slow tug, almost as if expecting resistance.
There was no resistance. Hell, she nearly took a flying leap at him.
He laughed softly, sending a bolt of heat through her. Her knees wobbled and his arm wrapped around her waist, steadying her. Their gazes locked and they both froze in place, she from a sudden rush of emotions, Spence probably from watching them play out across her face. She once again started to say something—still had no idea what—but was silenced by his hot mouth covering hers.
Yes was her only coherent thought and she pressed up against him as he angled his head, taking the kiss even deeper.

I absolutely LOVE Jill Shalvis’s Heartbreaker Bay series and Colbie and Spence’s story is no different! Ever since I picked up book 1, I’ve been wrapped up in these characters and their stories and their friendships.
Colbie is running away from home. She needs a break from all her responsibilities and just get over her writer’s block. She winds up in Heartbreaker Bay and is quickly swept up into the magic of the place. It doesn’t help that the man who becomes her temporary landlord is gorgeous nerd Spence, who takes it upon himself to help save her.
Spence has his own demons and insecurities and so he’s very private, except with Colbie it seems. Both he and Colbie seem to be helplessly attracted to each other even though they both know that Colbie will be leaving in just a few weeks.
I am absolutely in LOVE with the Heartbreaker Bay community and can’t wait for more.

SYNOPSIS
You’ve heard this story before. Woman feels her biological clock ticking and gets someone to knock her up.
Not for love, for baby.
Crazy, right?
That’s what I thought.
Then I found out my fiancé had a vasectomy. The life I thought I had? Nope. Suddenly I’m 33, and I don’t even have a kissing buddy.
When my mom’s health takes a turn and I wind up back in my hometown of Fate, Alabama, I tell myself to leave things up to…well, you know.
Then I see Gabriel McKellan. He’s Fate’s most famous son, a bestselling author who is beautiful, complicated, and living just below me. In addition to his plus-sized brain, Gabe’s well-endowed in other ways, and great in bed to boot. I would know. He’s my ex husband.
When I suggest The Plan, I don’t imagine that he’ll take the bait. It’s been ten years, and we don’t work. But Fate has other plans for both of us.

Now I live a simple life as a creative director at Shimura Advertising in New York. All is good, until my boss cons me and my coworkers into spending two weeks in Colorado at Proton Sports’ sleep-away camp for adults, pitching their business. Turns out Proton’s idea of a pitch is making the agencies battle each other in a bunch of ridiculous winter games.
Guess who owns the rival company? Her. And she’s out to get me. I might just let her win.

BLURB:
She wants a baby
All I’ve ever desired is a family of my own. Too afraid I’ll follow in my late mother’s footsteps, I plan to have a baby before time runs out. Problem is, I fell in love with someone unattainable. John Hamilton is kind, thoughtful, and generous…and it doesn’t hurt that he’s built like a Mack truck. I’m ready to throw caution to the wind and ask him to be the father of my child. The only problem? He’s my stepbrother, and it could destroy our family.
He just wants her
The first time I met Emery Collins, she was a scrawny teenager…and my new stepsister. She’s a grown woman now, and every long, hard inch of me has taken notice. But with our family ties, she’s officially off limits. Too bad she’s come to me with something she wants, something she needs from me. Now I can’t stop dreaming of filling her…of watching her belly swell with my child. What she’s asking for could tear apart our cobbled-together family. I’m just not sure it’s enough to stop me from taking what I want.
You know the drill: looking for something quick, filthy, and taboo? The couples of Temperance Falls deliver.

He’s not a douchebag;
but that doesn’t stop his friends from
turning him into one.
MY FRIENDS WANT ME TO GET LAID.
So much so that they plastered my ugly mug all over campus, in bold printed letters:
Are you the lucky lady who’s going to break our roommate’s cherry?
Him: socially awkward man with average-sized penis looking for willing sexual partner. You: must have pulse. Text him at: 555-254-5551
The morons can’t even spell. And the texts I’ve been receiving are what wet dreams are made of. But I’m not like these douchebags, no matter how hard they try to turn me into one.
THIS ISN’T THE KIND OF ATTENTION I WANT.
One text stands out from hundreds. One number I can’t bring myself to block. She seems different. Hotter, even in black and white.
However, after seeing her in person, I know she’s not the girl for me. But my friends won’t let up—they just don’t get it. Douchebags or not, there’s one thing they’ll never understand: GIRLS DON’T WANT ME.
Especially her.

He’s seated at a table in the far corner when I spot him from the door. He’s not hard to miss—not with his purple t-shirt in a sea of black and yellow, and wavy mussed hair.
He’s slouching, hunched over his table.
Defeated. Tired.
My stomach rolls with nerves, nerves that have me rooted to the spot in the doorway, watching him.
Just watching.
For the entire four minutes I stand here, he sits immobile, studying his laptop, eyes moving along the screen, completely transfixed by whatever he’s reading.
Learning.
“Just go over there,” I whisper to myself, blowing out a puff of pent-up air.
I put one foot in front of the other and begin toward him, spine ramrod straight, steeling myself, prepared for another argument.
Twenty feet.
Fifteen.
Eight.
Two.
“Hi.”
No reply.
“Do you mind if I sit here?” I lay my hand on the back of the wooden chair across from him, intending to pull it out.
He stiffens but doesn’t lift his head. “Yes I mind.”
“Would you mind if I sat at the table next to you?” I’m pushing his buttons, looking for a reaction, but he only spares me a brief glance.
Shrugs. “Free country.”
I bite my lip to hide a smile, glad he didn’t tell me to take a hike…

I haven’t read any of the other Douchebag series but they came highly recommended. And I see why after reading this one! And so I’ve bought the other 2 books but you don’t need to read those in order to understand this one.
This “douchebag” is learning how to be one because he’s anything but! He’s a country boy who just wants to do his thing. But his roommates think he’s no getting out there and getting laid enough. So they take it upon themselves to get him out there.
The girl is more popular but notices the douchebag. And is intrigued by him. So what started as a joke could turn into something more.
A great, sweet read that I truly enjoyed!
5 Stars!

From USA Today bestselling author Katie Reus comes the second book in the ALL NEW Redemption Harbor series where sparks fly and so do bullets.
He’s a former Marine, her new fake boyfriend, and the only way to escape her dangerous past.
Having a child changed everything for Olivia—she vowed to keep her little girl safe from the mistakes of her past. But when the most dangerous person she ever met blackmails her into doing one last heist, the world she’s so carefully built goes into a tailspin. Frantic, she heads to Redemption Harbor in search of help. Sparks fly when she meets Savage, a man who will do anything to keep Olivia and her daughter safe. He’ll help her get her life back, but can he handle seeing who she once was?
Can they pull it off?
Savage poses as her obsessive ex during a daring undercover operation—and soon the line between reality and their cover story becomes blurred. He’ll use every trick he knows to keep the sensual woman alive and out of jail—and in his life. But the clock is ticking and if they can’t find a way to trust each other, no one will make it out alive.
Zac didn’t have many regrets in life. A few, but he’d made it a rule to stop having them. Regrets and guilt were useless.
But right now he regretted that he’d opened his big mouth about a woman he didn’t know. He had his own baggage where mothers were concerned. He was self-aware enough to realize that. And he’d made a snap judgment when Skye had pulled him in for this job and outlined what was going on. The kid inside him who still resented a mother who’d never given a shit about him had reacted, rather than the man.
Now, staring into the dark eyes and stunning face of a clearly agitated woman—who looked a little like she wanted to throat punch him—yeah, he regretted that this was her first impression of him. Everyone else who worked for Redemption Harbor Consulting, plus Mary Grace and Mercer, who didn’t, had all met Olivia Carter. But he’d been away on jobs when she’d visited with her daughter.
Looking away from him toward Skye, Olivia winced as Skye announced he was her partner. “Oh… ah…”
He cleared his throat once, eager to smooth things over. “Skye tells me you’ve worked jobs with this Neely before. It’s been six years since you’ve seen him. Correct?” Might as well move right past the awkwardness and jump into business. There was no time to waste.
She nodded, and some of the tension in her shoulders seemed to ease. “More like seven, but yes.”
“Okay, we’ll need to go over the type of jobs you did with him, your role, what he’s like to work with and what type of crew he normally uses. Once we’ve established that, we’re going to come up with a cover for our relationship.” Standard procedure for building a background. Luckily they could work from scratch and come up with any history they wanted. All Skye had told him so far was that this Kyle Neely thought Olivia was bringing in a male partner, that her ex-husband was a dick, her deceased mom was Korean, her dad was alive, and she was a single mother. Skye hadn’t told him how stunning she was.
Skye cleared her throat, and when he looked at her, he knew he wasn’t going to like what she had to say. Because she looked nervous as she played with a strand of her auburn hair. He’d never seen her do that.
“What did you do?” he asked, suspicion in his voice.
“Nothing big. But we’ve already established with Neely that you and Olivia have a history. That you’re uh, sort of obsessed with her. That you’ll do anything for her.”
His gaze narrowed. “What the hell?”
Skye lifted a shoulder, not looking the least bit apologetic. “It’ll work. Who’s the pro at this kind of thing? Me. I told Olivia what to say and Neely is on the hook. He would only believe that a man who was into her would drop everything when she came running. You’re a guy, so you know I’m right. So I started building your cover on the fly.”
He shifted on his feet and looked over at Olivia. With long, jet-black hair and long, thick lashes, delicate features, sharp cheekbones and a tight body… He glanced away. Pretending to be attracted to her wouldn’t be an issue. And he wouldn’t be pretending. This woman was walking sex appeal. “All right, so we’re…together?”
“For the duration of this job, yes. Olivia made it sound like you’d do anything for her. So once we’ve established the parameters of your past relationship—the rest of which you two can figure out—you’ll just sell it to him. I know undercover stuff isn’t normally your thing, but I think you’re the best person for this job. I could ask Leighton, but…”
Zac simply nodded. Leighton had been working jobs with them since they’d started their consulting firm, but this was the type of job where he’d have to be on his game 24/7. He didn’t think Leighton was up to it. And…Zac didn’t like the thought of anyone else being this woman’s partner. He wasn’t going to analyze why he cared one way or another either. “I got this.”
Skye turned to Olivia now, who was a lot quieter than the raging woman who’d stormed in here looking sexier than any woman he’d ever met. “Gage and I are going to start going over the list of data you gave us, see if we can make a timeline of Neely’s past movements, where he might be hiding Martina. If we figure that out, all this planning will be a moot point. But it’s better to be prepared and act as if you’re going to pull a job with him.”
“Do you think he has her at that hotel?” She moved slightly and winced, as if she was in pain. When she did, he realized that she had makeup covering what definitely looked to be a bruise on her eye. Her skin tone was a pale peachy color and some of her coverup had been rubbed off.
All his protective instincts went into overdrive. What the hell?
Katie Reus is the New York Times, USA Today, and IndieReader bestselling author of the Red Stone Security series, the Moon Shifter series and the Deadly Ops series. She fell in love with romance at a young age thanks to books she pilfered from her mom’s stash. Years later she loves reading romance almost as much as she loves writing it.
However, she didn’t always know she wanted to be a writer. After changing majors many times, she finally graduated summa cum laude with a degree in psychology. Not long after that she discovered a new love. Writing. She now spends her days writing dark paranormal romance and sexy romantic suspense.
