Declan Marino was a lucky to get everything he wanted in life: marriage to his high school sweetheart, Delilah Carrier, and work as an army medic. But his world crashes in when his wife leaves him because she did not get what she wanted. Now, he’s raising his children alone, as he works in the ER and is periodically called up from missions in the Army Medical Reserve. Lila has snagged a promotion in the Pentagon. Life is hard and messy for all of them, especially their three girls. Follow Declan and Lila as they find their way back to each other and create a brand new life from the ashes of the old one.Β

COME BACK TO ME examines the difficulty of balancing two military parents and maintaining happy family life. The book also asks the question: can long-standing love triumph over the roadblocks of modern life?

With a combination of excitement and dread, Declan looked around the empty house in Maryland that he’d rented for himself and the girls for a year.Β

β€œIt’s big, Daddy.” This from Meli, his impish twin daughter. β€œDo we have our own rooms?”

β€œOf course.”

β€œWant to go see ours, Morgy?” she asked her sister Morgan. They both had blond hair and blue eyes, like him; Meli’s pixie-short, Morgan’s almost to her waist. Maggie, his oldest, was the spitting image of her mother.

Dec held out two hands, which his kids clasped. β€œI’ll show you.”

They climbed the open oak staircase with skylights shining down on the foyer and made their way around the railings. Declan led them down one hall. At the end were two doors. β€œLet’s go in here first.”

Once in the room, the girls scanned the wide windows, another skylight above the ceiling fan, and then their gazes landed on a doorway. Morgan rushed over and yanked it open. β€œIt’s a bathroom.”

β€œWith another door on that side.”

The girls burst through both entrances. Screeches. Proclamations like β€œOh, this is so cool,” and β€œJust what we need!” Their rooms were connected by a Jack-and-Jill bath like the Marinos’ third-floor quarters, built for Whitney and Connor.

Declan leaned back against the wall, grateful that he could please these two munchkins after he’d uprooted them. Thankfully, they’d been old enough to go into middle school in Lakeville and would have had to change buildings anyway.Β

β€œI’m taking this one,” Meli said coming back in. β€œMorgan wants the other.”

Her sister hugged him. β€œWe love them, Dad.”

β€œUncle Nick scouted this area for us, which is close to our family, and when he saw this part with an adjoining bathroom, he thought the place would be great for you two.”

The house also had a master suite up here, making it four bedrooms, and a den and bath on the first floor. Which could be converted to a fifth area for his parents.

Meli crossed to a window. β€œOh, look, a big backyard.” She turned to her father. β€œFor our dogs, right, Dad?”

He’d also bribed them when he told them they were leaving Lakeville: if they cooperated in the move, they could each get a dog. He wanted animals anyway. β€œYep, and the yard is fenced in.”

Morgan said, β€œDoes the house have a room for Maggie?”

β€œYou bet. This is her home, too.”

His oldest was at orientation for college right now, only forty minutes away at American University where she’d live on campus, but she also had her own space here. He hoped she’d use it.

β€œWe wanna see yours too, Dad.”

β€œI’ll take you to the other hallway for mine, but Maggie should show you hers.” They’d been staying with Gabe and Macy, and he’d dropped Mags off at orientation before they came here around noon.

When the girls had their fill of touring, they settled in the kitchen. Declan had ordered a pizza so it was piping hot, the scent of spicy sauce and cheese filling the expansive kitchen/dining area. They sat at the long bar separating the two on the stools left by the previous owners and dug in. They were almost finished when chimes sounded.Β

β€œThat’s our furniture!” Meli declared, sliding off her seat and racing to the foyer. Morgan followed and Declan took up the rear.

Meli threw open the door. β€œOh. I thought you were our delivery.”

Lila, their mother, smiled at the girls. β€œAren’t you glad to see me?” Dec recognized uncertainty in her voice.

β€œYeah, Mommy, we are.” Morgan wrapped her arms around her mother’s waist, then Meli took her turn.Β

His ex-wife raised her gaze to Declan. β€œHi.”

The mere sight of her churned him up inside. β€œI didn’t expect to see you today.”

β€œI got excited about the girls being so close, so I came out on my lunch break.”

All Declan said was, β€œThere’s pizza left.”

β€œOh, well, can I have a tour of the place first?”

Meli grabbed her arm. β€œWait till you see our rooms. There’s lots of windows, a bathroom that connects us, and skylights.”

Lila’s mouth thinned. β€œHow nice.” She looked at Dec. β€œI always wanted skylights.”

They’d lived in apartments in D.C., then bought a home in Lakeville, which was old, like most of the houses in town. β€œYou should put a couple in your new place.” Declan almost cringed at the bitterness in his voice.

β€œIt’s a colonial. Skylights don’t belong in that era’s dwellings.”

Ignoring her comment, he said, β€œTake Mommy on a tour, you guys.”

When they left, he returned to the kitchen and sat back down. He took a bite of a half-eaten slice of pizza, but now it tasted like cardboard. So he scanned the room. High ceilings with more skylights, now open to warm mid-August air, granite countertops, big enough for a table by the fireplace at the far end. Lila would probably love this room. But he hadn’t rented the place with her in mind. No, she had a new guy, a new house, a new life now.

Ten minutes later, the girls raced into the kitchen to the backyard through French doors. Their mother went outside with them, then came back in alone.

β€œThis is lovely, Dec.”

He turned. Speaking of lovely, she looked pretty in a yellow summer sundress and strappy sandals. Her hair was up in a knot befitting the hot day.

β€œThanks. We have an option to buy it, but I’m not sure we can.”

β€œWhy?”

β€œThe house in Lakeville would have to sell first.” Though trauma surgeonsβ€”he’d been one for yearsβ€”were paid top dollar, areas around D.C. and Maryland were expensive.

Taking a seat another stool down, she ignored the food. β€œSo you came down here.” There was a cutting undertone in her voice, but he knew why. And she was entitled.

β€œMy parents said moving was a deal breaker.” Like it had been in the end for him and Lila, though he didn’t know that at the time.

Her mouth got tight. β€œDid they buy something?”

β€œNo. They’re staying with Nick now. They’ve had offers to stay in four different places. We don’t know if they’ll want their own.”

β€œFour?”

β€œSure, here. There’s a first floor den for them. Nick and Gabe each have a suite set up and you should see the house Connor and Calla bought. It’s got a guest house behind the main one.”

β€œBefitting a princess.”

β€œAnd the heir to the throne.”

β€œSeriously? She’s pregnant?”

β€œBefore the wedding.” He lasered her with a look. β€œLike us.”

β€œAre they happy about having a baby so soon?”

β€œYes.”

β€œUnlike us.”

β€œI know we were wary at first, and especially when I was away those six months, but when Mags came we were happy, Lila.”

β€œI know. I guess what followed, what brought us to where we are today, is still in the forefront for me.” She shook her head, releasing a few more tendrils. β€œI thought we were invincible back then.”

β€œI did, too. What happened to those kids?”

β€œThey grew up. And modern life was too much for them to withstand, I guess.”

β€œHow sad.”

β€œAre Connor and Calla settling here permanently?”

β€œThey’re splitting their time between Maryland and Casarina. They’re both working part-time at the D.C. clinic, but exploring options here for one of their own.”

The children burst back through the door at the end of the kitchen. β€œDaddy, they left their jungle gym. It’s got a fort, and a slide and swings.”

He frowned. β€œI was thinking about tearing those things down. That you’re too old for them.”

Their faces fell. Until Lila laughed. β€œDaddy’s kidding.”

β€œOh.”

β€œOh, good.”

Chimes again.Β

Declan stood. β€œThat has to be our furniture.”

Meli tugged on her hand. β€œYay! Mommy, can you stay and help us set up our rooms?”

She looked to Dec. He said, β€œSure, I’ve got my hands full with the rest of the stuff. Will you be able to get out of work?”

β€œI make my own hours. I have to call in, though.” She looked down. β€œAnd I keep workout clothes in the car.”

β€œThen it’s settled.”

The delivery was the new furniture. And right behind the store guys was the moving van from Lakeville. Declan signed papers and Lila headed to her car. Halfway down the sidewalk, she looked over her shoulder and said, β€œI can’t believe you’re here.”

He didn’t know what to say. Or if he could even speak around the sock stuck in his throat. Had he made different decisions, if circumstances had gone their way, they could be buying this house together, settling in together, building on a life they made through the years.

But that was a fairytale, and he wasn’t a doctor marrying a princess, like Connor. He and Lila were two soldiers who just couldn’t merge their lives together.

Again, he thought,Β How sad.

a wealthy man who spends his time enjoying himself, especially one who behaves irresponsibly or is sexually promiscuous.
Synonyms: socialite, pleasure seeker.

Noah
I have it all, money, looks, and any woman I want.
Till I meet her and my universe is knocked on its ass and she wants nothing to do with me.

Kaleigh
My motto: never date the same man twice. I have less chance of breaking my heart that way.
Till my eyes land on the only man I’ll break my rule for.

She thinks she can run. That I’ll let her get away.

He thinks he can handle a woman like me.
He has no idea.

A man who has it all needs one thing and one thing only. A temptress.

Watch me Tempt the Playboy.
Watch the trailer HERE

Ok to really enjoy this story, you need to read Tempt the Boss! There’s a lot of overlap with that story and characters but this story is told from a different couples POV.
Kaleigh has moved in with her sister Lauren, after Lauren’s husband cheats on her and they go through with a divorce. Kaleigh is a footloose and fancy free type of gal. She doesn’t sleep with the same hookup twice. Ever.
Enter Playboy Noah. Noah is that skeezy, too hot and he knows it, thinks he’s God’s gift to women. And apparently some women are into that because he has a different woman almost every night. Until her.
This was a hilarious companion novel to TTB. I say companion because it has a lot of the same events, Just told from a different perspective.
5 Stars!
When her nose isn’t buried in a book, or her fingers flying across a keyboard writing, she’s in the kitchen creating gourmet meals. You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips. It’s a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn’t listen to her…

Blog Tour & Review ~ Thrill Of Love ~ by ~ Melissa Foster

Fate brings Ty and Aiyla together, but will tragedy tear them apart?
THRILL OF LOVE
The Bradens at Peaceful Harbor, MD #6
Melissa Foster
Releasing Oct 4, 2017
World Literary Press

Do you believe in fate?

World-renowned mountain climber and nature photographer Ty
Braden never believed in second dates, much less heart-pounding,
steal-his-breath love. But that was before a trip to Saint-Luc, where he met
funny, strong, and entrancingly beautiful Aiyla Bell, a ski instructor and
fellow photographer whose hopes and dreams, and love of the outdoors, aligned
perfectly with hisβ€”and whose kisses alone turned him inside out.

After spending five magical days and four sweet, soulful
nights falling in love, Aiyla couldn’t imagine a day without Ty. But when he
asked her to go with him on his next assignment, his reputation for having
women at his beck and call stopped her from upending the life she’d worked so
hard to create.

Months later fate steps in when a chance encounter brings Ty
and Aiyla together for a five-day wilderness event held in the Colorado
Mountains. Their deep, passionate connection is stronger than ever, and Ty is
bound and determined not to lose her again. But when tragedy strikes and their
worlds are turned upside down, their love faces the truest test of all.

TBRreview

Another amazing Bradens’ book!!!

I was sucked in as soon as I started Ty and Aiyla’s story! You become invested with these characters and moreso as their story goes on. Between the trials and tribulations, sweetness and heartache, you’re cheering for Ty and Aiyla to make it!

Ty and Aiyla end up trapped together in a storm. Of course things happen and their bodies get the best of them. Everything seems great until they’re ripped apart.

Fast forward to when they’re brought together again but by sadness. This amazing couple will have your heart pounding, emotions running high and the world around you disappear!

Excerpt

In the time it took to throw a baseball or swing a bat, everything I’d worked so hard for as long as I could remember was gone. If I could have snapped my fingers to reiterate the point to myself, I would have.

But I couldn’t.

Because my fucking shoulder was destroyed, and I couldn’t move my arm.

β€œHey, Frank.”

My girlfriend’s voice cut through my pity party, and I turned my head to meet her eyes. My relationship with Shelby was brand new, we’d only recently started dating, and I was certain it was about to end as quickly as it had begun.

I expected to find her looking either as sad or as devastated as I was, but she wasn’t. She seemed calm, a small smile tugging at her lips. She was a sweet girl, someone I could fall in love with someday. Well, as much as I could fall in love with anything other than baseball.

But there was no baseball for me anymore.

What the hell was I going to do with my life? I had no backup plan because there was never a reason to. Getting hurt had never crossed my mind . . . all I’d been able to think about was going pro.

Until now.

β€œHow long have you been here?” I tried not to sound like a dick, but my thoughts were focused on life-changing questions like, What am I going to do now? Who am I going to be?

Shelby shrugged, and her long brown hair fell over her shoulder.

β€œYou don’t have to stay,” I grumbled. β€œI know you have classes.”

She pulled her chair closer to my bed. β€œI’ve already talked to my professors. I’m going to stay, if that’s okay.”

β€œAre you sure? You realize my career’s over, right?” I practically barked at her. β€œYou sure you want to hang out with a has-been?” It was irrational and mean, but I was mad and she was the only one in the room with me, so I directed my frustration at her.

She stiffened a little before relaxing, reaching out to rest a hand on my left arm. β€œI’m sure. I won’t pretend to know how you’re feeling right now, Frank. I can only imagine how hard this is for you and how sad you must be, but I never liked you because you were a baseball player.”

β€œNo? That had nothing to do with it?” Too late, I realized that now I totally sounded like a complete dick.

Shelby narrowed her eyes for a second before letting out a soft sigh. β€œI like your dedication and work ethic. But that’s a part of your character and it has nothing to do with baseball. I love the person you are, not the person you thought you were going to become. I don’t care if you’re a baseball player or a plumber as long as you’re happy.”

I reached for her hand and squeezed it with my good one because I knew she meant the things she was telling me. Even though I was pissed off about everything I’d just lost, I still had one very important thing. And she was sitting right next to me, refusing to give up on me. I never knew how much I needed that kind of acceptance until Shelby sat there patiently, giving it to me willingly, no matter how frustrated I was.

Over the next few weeks, even my former teammates disappeared. They still had the game, their dreams within reach, and seeing me only reminded them of how easily it could all be stolen away. They stopped asking if I was okay, how I was feeling, and finally, they stopped coming around altogether. That was another blow to my ego, watching them drift away one by one. Guys I’d thought were like brothers just walked away as if I’d never mattered.

But not Shelby. She never left my side.

When I finally declared a new major and switched my focus to business management and finance, hanging up my cleats for good, she encouraged me and told me I’d be great at it. All the days when I didn’t believe in myself, she believed in me enough for the two of us. I don’t think I would have gotten through that time in my life without her.

Funny how things can change.

About the Author

I got fired from my last job.

It’s true.

I know you’re sitting there thinking, “Jenn, how could anyone in their right mind fire someone like you?” And I’d love to give you a good reason, but the truth is that sometimes being all sorts of awesome isn’t fun for other people. They don’t always tend to like it. lol

So I picked my pride off the floor, bought a laptop and started writing my first book. And you know what I realized? Writing stories that meant something to me was a million times better than working my ass off for someone who didn’t really care about anything other than the bottom line.

My soul has never felt more satisfied.

My heart has never been more full.

I’ve never worked so hard in my life, but I love every second of it. I truly do.

It is SO worth it.

All of it.

Every moment.

The journey it took to get to this point- I wouldn’t change a thing.

The start to a sexy new series from New York Times bestselling author, Kendall Ryan…

She’s much too innocent for me, but that doesn’t stop me from wanting the sweet, young librarian. I’m dominating and possessive, and my control streak runs a mile wide.

The way she looks at meβ€”like I’m one of the heroes in the books she loves, like I’m broken, and she wants to be the one to piece me back togetherβ€”it only complicates things further. I’m nobody’s hero.

But there’s no denying my tragic past reads like one of her favorite literary classics. It’s raw. Visceral. Captivating. And together, we’re a perfect mess.

How am I expected to resist when the sexual sparks zap between us and set me on fire? The need to control, and claim her force my walls to come tumbling down, but when she learns my dirty little secret, will my world come crashing down with it?

Two broken hearts. One second chance.

Maddie
I’ve loved Hendrix Cole ever since I was a little girl.
From the moment I first saw him, I knew that one day, he’d be mine.
And he was. At least… until he threw it all away.
I gave Hendrix my heart and he shattered it into a million pieces.
I begged him not to leave. Still, he walked away.

It’s been six years since I’ve seen him.
But now a cruel twist of fate just brought us face-to-face.
He swears he never meant to hurt me.
He begs me for another chance.
I still love him. Always have. Always will.
But can I trust him?
Losing him once almost killed me.
I won’t survive if it happens again.
Hendrix
I’ve loved Maddie Davis ever since I was a kid.
From the moment I first saw her, I knew that one day, she’d be mine.
I was right.
Maddie gave me her heart and I gave her my ring.
But like the screw-up my father says I am, I blew it.
Before I could explain, she vanished.
Our love? Gone in the blink of an eye.
I know I hurt her and I hate myself for it.
Now she’s back.
This is my chance.
I won’t let her walk away.
Not again.
Maddie is mine.
I missed him the most when it rained.
It didn’t matter if it was a full-blown thunderstorm or merely a small shower, when the sky opened up and let it fall, I thought of him.
Dark hair. Whiskey colored eyes. Sweetest smile I’d ever seen.
A young boy with dimples. A grown man with a scruffy jaw.
The feel of his touch. The taste of his lips. The smell of his skin.
I could never escape the memories. They held on, refusing to be forgotten, and made me relive it all.Β
I both loved and hated it at the same time.
Heaven and hell. Bliss and misery.
The cycle never ended.
Even at night in the middle of my dreams, I couldn’t outrun him.
His voice. The way he spoke my name. The promises he whispered in my ear.
Loving him. Losing him. Flying high. Plummeting to the ground.
I constantly felt like my mind and heart were at war with one another.
One wanted to forget while the other wanted to remember.
I was fighting a losing battle. One that I was sure to never win.
He was gone. Our love… finished. But how was I supposed to live when the other half of my heart was missing? Without him, it simply didn’t beat right.
It was broken. Shattered. Damaged beyond repair.
I wasn’t living. I was just existing, floating from one moment to the next.
I hated feeling like this.
Angry. Hurt. Overflowing with pain. Bursting at the seams with sadness.
I just wanted it to stop.
Problem was, I didn’t know how to get past it.
Trust me, I’d tried to move on. I’d tried hating him. Tried forgetting him.
I’d tried letting go.
But I just couldn’t.
Even six years later, I needed Hendrix Cole like I needed my next breath. And just like if I were being deprived of oxygen, living without him was killing me.Β
Physically I may have been fine, but inside I was withering away.Β
Slowly but surely, what remained of both my heart and soul was dying.

J.E. Parker is an American romance author who was born and raised in the great state of North Carolina. A southern belle at heart, she’s addicted to sweet tea, Cheerwine, and peach cobbler.

Not only is J.E. married to the man of her dreams (albeit a total pain in the rear), she’s also the mother of a herd of sweet (sometimes), and angelic (only when they’re sleeping) children. Despite their occasional demonic behavior and bottomless stomachs, J.E. loves her little tribe more than words could ever express.

On the weekends, you can find her sitting on the couch, cheering on (or cursing) her favorite football team, stuffing her face with junk food, and guzzling a bottle of cheap red wine.

When she’s not busy making sure her husband doesn’t burn the house down or acting as a referee for her fighting children, J.E. enjoys reading, writing (obviously), and listening to a wide variety of music.

Series: Russian Bratva #8
Author: Hayley Faiman
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Release Date: October 23, 2017

Devyn O’Neil, princess of the Irish Mob, was raised to know her place. Marrying a man of her father’s choosing has always been her fate. Yet, she never imagined that one day she’d play the part of a pawn between men on the verge of war. She never dreamed she’d be betrothed to a Russian badman.

Timofei Vetrov, son of New York’s Bratva king, grew up to be a bad boy prince. Taking for granted his life of privilege, he scoffed at the rules and did as he pleased. When the Irish murdered his mother, her death changed everything. He never dreamed he’d one day be king. He never imagined such a loss would thrust him into the role of a real man.

A marriage, meant to unite the Irish with the Russians and forge a bond of peace, soon becomes much more. The fathers that bind them together cannot foresee the strength that Timofei and Devyn can uncover in their union. Together, their love has the potential to change the game entirelyβ€”yet it is a force that can only be reckoned with once found.

I was born and raised in California. My husband and I met when I was just 16. We were married a few years later, moving to Oregon while he was in the US Coast Guard.Β
Texas is now where we call home, where our boots rest, and where we’re raising our two little boys and a chocolate lab named Optimus Prime.

ENOUGH - BOOK

Enough.Ebook-Amazon Some things in life were inevitable; death, taxes, and lying, whoremongering men.

One woman would never be enough for one man.

So I traded in men for a Harley.

Nothing beats that kind of power between my legs.

Then I blinked.

And he was there.

~

Some things in life were inevitable; death, taxes, and badge bunnies willing to hop into my bed.

The only problem is I’m a one woman kind of man.

In my line of work, I’ve seen it all.

Nothing bothers me until I find a woman’s wrecked body.

When she blinked,

My world changed.

Forever doesn’t come close to giving me enough of her.

ENOUGH - AUTHOR

Danielle is Southern born and raised. When not writing, she is riding on her Harley. Most days she can be found in jeans, t-shirt, and cowgirl boots. She has over twenty pairs. And don’t get her started on her kickass biker boots. She believes that Cinderella had it all figured out, “One shoe can change your life, provided those shoes look fucking fabulous.”

Danielle is proud of her Greek heritage and often uses her knowledge of the Greek culture and language in her books. She and her husband, that she lovingly calls Beta, travel a large portion of the year and devote every weekend to date nights; he claims to be a willing test pilot for all steamy scenes. He’s convinced her that she should write what she knows (and has tried, at least once).

Danielle’s favorite heroes are known as Beta heroes, “Men that open the door for you during the day and throw you against them at night.”

Betas write love notes, some with sexual innuendos.

Betas send flowers, some with sexual innuendos.

If someone asks a Beta, How’s life?. He’ll reply, “She’s wonderful.”

Her sarcastic sense of humor comes out in every book; she is often her own entertainment. Her goal is to write books that make the reader laugh and fall in love without all of the emotional baggage that we face every day in our real lives.

And Friday, is her second favorite F word (if you hadn’t figured that out yet).
