Dr. Neil
Walker, M.D., M.F.T, Ph. D.
Iâm not
your average therapist. As the founder of Imperium Securityâthe cover for my
mercenary teamâIâve dedicated my entire life to helping heal those whoâve had
their power unwillingly taken from them and avenging the ones who didnât
survive.
A decade after
creating the perfect team, Iâve now watched as every one of my brothers-in-arms
has met and married their perfect match, the special women who were meant for
themâbecause not just any woman is cut out to be the wife of a mercenary. And
it was through one of these matches I finally met The One, the woman of
my dreams, the one Iâve sworn to help heal and protect above all others.
Astrid
Quill, Makeup Artist
It was only
supposed to be for the weekend, but then all hell broke loose, and I went from
just staying with Doc so my sister could have a worry-free romantic getaway
with her honey, to living with him for an entire year.
Oh,
boo-hoo, poor me, trapped in this amazing, state-of-the-art mansion with a dog
who loves the hell out of me. And not trapped because Neil wonât let me go.
Heavens, no. Neil is dreamy and a real-life hero, and he tries everything to
help me step foot back into the world. Itâs a self-imposed prison, because
nothing good ever came of me being out in the wild.
I made a
promise nearly a decade ago that Iâd never let myself fall in love again. Love
brought pain, both emotional and physical, and the last time I was in love, I
barely escaped with my life. But Iâm finding it harder to resist this magnetism
between us, especially when he makes it perfectly clear he wants me and only
me.
No, Doc
isnât your average therapist.
So is he
the one man who can not only save me from my past, but also heal my heart?
âWanna play a game, Doc?â I ask in a creepy voice, mimicking
the scary little fucker on the trike in the Saw movies.
âI never realized how much like Seth you are until today,â
he replies instead, and a lazy smile pulls at my lips.
âMy sister said since the day she met him that heâs like me
but with a penis. I chose to ignore the fact that she then proceeded to have
sex with that penis. I have enough psychologic damage to wonder why my sister
fell in love with a man who reminds her of me,â I joke, and he shakes his head
at that.
âThen Iâll choose to ignore the fact that I fell in love
with a woman who reminds me of him with a vagina,â he replies, and I wrinkle my
nose.
âEw.â
âRight?â
âNo, I mean the vagina part. Donât call it that.â I stick
out my tongue.
âAre you twelve, goddess? Iâm a medical professional,â he
points out.
âYouâre a head doctor. Not a vagina doctor,â I argue,
sneering the word.
He lifts a brow. âYouâd be amazed how much the mind is
affected by whatâs between oneâs legs, Ms. Quill.â
Author Bio
KD Robichaux wanted to be a romance author since the first time she
picked up her mom’s Sandra Brown books at the ripe old age of twelve. She went
to college to become a writer, but then married her very own alpha and had
babies. Putting her dream job on hold to raise her family as a stay at home mom
who read entirely too much, she created a blog where she could keep her family
and friends up-to-date on all the hottest reads. From there, by word of mouth,
her blog took off and she began using her hard-earned degree as a full-time
editor. When her kids started school, and with the encouragement from her many
author friends, she finally sat down and started working on her first series,
The Blogger Diaries, her own real-life romance. She’s now published more than
fifteen stories in many different genres of romance.
We are so excited to be sharing the cover for UNWRITTEN by Alex Rosa! Check out the gorgeous cover, read an excerpt and be sure to pre-order your copy of this new contemporary romance today!
About UNWRITTEN
Hailey Elwood always knew three things: she wanted to be a writer, she didnât want to run her family diner, and she was madly and unconditionally in love with Caiden Anderson.
When Hailey came to the conclusion that her family would never understand her dream to write, she decided to take her future into her own hands, but what she didnât expect was Caidenâs ultimatum.
Falling in love with Caiden was easy. Saying goodbye to him was not.
Five years later, Haileyâs debut novel becomes an international bestseller, skyrocketing her to fame, but when her mother passes away, sheâs forced to return to her hometown to confront the memories and the man that shaped her first book. Sheâll argue itâs fiction, but Caiden knows better.
Hailey wasnât the only one who was left battered and bruised, and Caiden makes it a point to make her accountable chapter by chapter.
Now with her publisher suddenly pushing her for a sequel, she isnât sure how to write it when her future is still unwritten.
This is too much, but then CeeCee shouts, âTo Hailey! Welcome back to our daydreamer, our go-getter, and our friend!â
I shake my head back and forth, trying to fight their kindness, feeling my face go red, but I canât stop smiling. Everyone clinks their glasses with mine clumsily, and I canât help but laugh. CeeCee winks at me as she brings her shot glass to her lips, and I follow suit.
A chilled caramel flavor slides smoothly down my throat, and Iâm greeted with the goofiest smiles from every one of my friends. My heart feels full, and my face feels warm. For a second, I feel like I belong again. Almost like I never left.
I like that weâre older now. The memories I have of when we drank before were always us sneaking bottles out of our parentsâ liquor cabinets and avoiding the cops.
Times have changed, but weâre still intact⊠kind of.
I sigh, realizing that something is missing. Weâre not complete. Especially since we all have our other halves. You could assume CeeCee would be mine, but itâs obvious she has Brandon as her other half, and Caiden was technically mine. He always had a place right under my skin, whether I wanted him there or not. He had that effect on me since we were kids. Itâs a shame heâs being such a coward aboutâ
âWell, Iâll be dammed,â I hear sputter from Brandonâs lips.
I look at him first, but all my friends are already staring at the door to the bar behind me. Iâm terrified to turn around.
Brandon and the boys disperse with secret smiles back to the pool table, beers in hand.
I swallow my nerves. They must be looking at Caiden, right? What else would spark such drama?
I turn around slowly.
My eyes lock on to a guyâIâm almost not sure if itâs himâbut my body knows. A vibrating hum starts in my gut and ripples like waves over the surface of my skin.
Caiden.
He walks into the bar with what seems like frantic determination. His eyebrows furrow, seeking out something, eyes darting from one side of the room to the other. My chest constricts, and I clench my fists while trying to fight for air. Five years has done him good, and I decide that maybe I should be mad at him for it. I hate that he fills out his jeans and his simple maroon thermal to near perfection. He drags his hands through his sandy-brown hair thatâs been visibly kissed by the sun, and I know itâs only a matter of time until he finds what heâs looking for.
âLeave it to Caiden to say no and then do it anyway,â whispers CeeCee beside me.
I donât think Iâm supposed to hear her, but sheâs right. It does sound like him. So much so that it makes his adult appearance a tiny bit more bearable.
CeeCeeâs elbow jabs into my side, forcing me to look away.
âWhat?â I gasp.
She smiles. âYou didnât want me to talk about him before, but heâs taken, you know?â
âHeâs what?â
CeeCeeâs smile only grows. âBut it doesnât matter.â
I squint. So, this is how sheâs going to get me to talk. âYouâre right. It doesnât. He can date whoever he wants.â
She rolls her eyes, realizing her plan to pry information has failed. She retaliates by swiftly walking back to the pool table without another word, leaving me out in the open like a defenseless gazelle. Damn her.
I think I need fresh air. Iâm not running; I just need oxygen and space⊠and whatever. I take a large pull of liquor from my straw, slurping the last bit from beneath the ice, and set it down with a clank.
When I turn back around, Caiden is already standing there a mere five feet away. His eyes are still the color of lush trees in the middle of spring, and all I can do is stare.
Heâs not smiling, but heâs not frowning either. Do I know this Caiden anymore?
Heâs more like an actual man than I remember. His jaw is more pronounced, accentuating his striking features even under a layer of dark scruff.
His arms are crossed over his broad chest. Iâd remember that chest; itâs not anywhere near the slimmer stature it was when we were eighteen. In the darkness, I can make out tattoos on his right arm peeking out from his long sleeve. The sight has my heart winding up like a propeller to a helicopter. The only thing I recognize are his eyes. With each second of silence, his eyes seem to chip away at me, like they always have. Heâd win arguments by doing this exact thing. My lips twitch, and so do his, as if he remembers, too.
âHi, Hailey,â he says in a dark-chocolate tone that I surely donât remember, but my heart seems to as it jumps to my throat. âItâs been a while.â
I nod. He nods. We nod, like utter, complete strangers. Itâs painful.
âI think I need another drink,â flies out of my mouth, and I move past him.

Heresy
Also Known as Shane Carter
There are no rules with this man.
No courtesies.
No acceptable behaviors heâll conform to in order to be accepted.
He marches to his own beat.
Gives the finger to expectations.
And does whatever pleases him because nobody can control him.
Arrogant.
Aggravating.
Absolute Chaos.
Shane is the last person you want walking into your world.
Itâs too bad he walked into mine.
Now I canât get rid of him.
Not that Iâm sure I want to.
He wants something from me.
Heâs playing a game.
And every time we come together, I canât help feeling like Iâm dancing with the Devil.
It all started with a chance meeting.
With the exchange of a few angry words.
And now that Iâm trapped in this manâs maze, I fear I wonât be strong enough to resist being seduced.

I approached him in a busy casino and felt the sting of his brutal rejection.
Then I did something incredibly brazen. Impulsive. Reckless.
I stole from him.
The object was inconsequential, only worth a handful of dollars.
I didnât do it for the money; it was about making a statement.
I went back home thousands of miles away without giving him a second thought until I spotted those quicksilver eyes glaring at me across a busy nightclub.
It was too impossible to be a coincidence.
Yet, there he was, seething with a violent promise of retribution.
He thought heâd intimidate me.
Hunt me down and make me pay.
What he didnât realize was I donât scare easily.

Within a year of self-publishing her first book, Jill Ramsower quit her job as an attorney and dedicated her days to churning out romantic adventures. She likes to think of her books as contemporary romance with a touch of fantasyâat its core, her writing is about the connection between two people. Sometimes that connection involves a little magicâŠ
With Jillâs books, you can count on confident heroines, plenty of steamy tension, and deliciously assertive leading men. There are no guarantees in life, but with her books, you know everything will work out in the end. However, a perfect ending would not be nearly as satisfying without a seemingly insurmountable challenge. Jill loves to add plenty of adversity in her stories, creating unforgettably dynamic characters and sneaky plot twists you will never see coming.
Jill is a Texan, born and raised. She manages the hectic social calendars for her three active children and occasionally spends an evening with her dashing husband. Aside from being an author and a mom, she’s a travel junkie and loves to read when she is not lost in her own stories.
