Excerpt:

I’m walking through the senior parking lot when I spot Jordan standing near his black Range Rover, leaning against its side. He’s wearing a white Henley shirt, his arms crossed and his biceps bulging beneath the long sleeves. The breeze ruffles his dark hair across his forehead and he stares off into the distance, every inch the troubled, broody boy that he is.

He looks so freaking good, I’m momentarily distracted by him. I stop and stare, my lips parted, my breath becoming shallow. It’s still hard for me to believe that this guy, this gorgeous, sweet, annoying, smart, strong, wonderful, awful boy likes me. That he might even care about me.

“Hey.” His deep baritone knocks me from my daze, and I head over, stopping just in front of him. “Where’s Livvy?”

“She made last minute plans. With someone else.” I don’t say anything else. Livvy’s secret isn’t mine to tell, and I’m afraid if I start talking about it, I’ll get really pissed. So I leave it alone. “Guess I don’t need to drive your car after all, but thank you for offering. I sense it was huge deal.”

“It is,” he agrees, tipping his head toward me. “But you’re worth it.”

Oh. He says things like that and I’m left speechless.

“You don’t have any plans?”

“No.” I shake my head, feeling tongue-tied.

Jordan grabs my hand, lacing our fingers and giving them a squeeze. “Then let’s go to lunch together.”

“Don’t you want to stay here?” He usually does. He’s always out at the quad, holding court over his loyal subjects. I used to sit out there with him, with all of them, just basking in his presence. But once we had the so-called breakup of our so-called relationship, I stopped going. One, because I couldn’t stand to be near him knowing he wasn’t mine anymore. Besides, most everyone who would hang out with Tuttle is annoying. Frustrating. Awful.

All of the above.

“No, not if I can sneak off campus somewhere with you.” He tugs me closer, his expression serious, his voice low. “Let me treat you to lunch, Amanda.”

When he talks to me like that, looks at me like that, I tend to give in easily.

“Okay,” I say softly, a jolt pulsing through me when he runs his thumb over the top of my hand. Sometimes the simplest touch has the most devastating effect.

And once he finally cracks the ice, he knows that he’s going to do everything to keep her. Except Tuttle has his own secrets and demons and that might be what causes him to lose Amanda.

Amanda is a tough, strong, ice queen who doesn’t let anyone crack her exterior. Until Jordan does. But then Jordan can’t keep his past from haunting him and causing him to ruin one of the best things that’s ever happened to him by the best girl for him.

Ava has run from her fiancée after something he’s done. She’s happily living in New Jersey, going about her business. Mateo decides it’s been long enough. He’s lived without her for too long and that stops today! 
A lot of twists and turns and misconceptions righted make this a great story to read! I can’t wait for Alejandro’s story!

“You have fifty seconds and then I want you on deck, Holt,” barked Dylan’s commander. “Over.”

Descending as fast as he dared, he fought the wind and dropped down into the hull again. Icy water made his breath catch even with the benefit of the dry suit. Nolee should have been out of here long before now.

“I’ve almost got it.” Her strained voice emerged from blue lips. Her movements were jerky as she twisted wire around the still gushing pipe.

His eardrums banged with his heartbeat.

She was losing motor function. Hypothermia was already setting in. With only thirty seconds left, he made an executive decision.

“It’s over, Nolee. Come with me now.”

He would haul her out by force if necessary. Braced himself for just that.

“Hands on the headboard,” he growls, his tone catching me off guard. “I’ll give you what you want, but you’ll do as I tell you.”
His words send a thrill through me, all the way down to my toes, and I swear I can feel them tingle. My dirty Captain is coming back out to play. I slowly raise my hands to the headboard. I wrap my fingers around the metal bar and do as he says.
He flashes a predatory smile as he wraps the belt around my wrists and through the bars. My heart pounds in my chest and my body clenches with want. I have to bite back a moan as I watch him do it. Don’t get me wrong, I always thought sex with Captain would be good, but I didn’t think it would go like this. He didn’t strike me as kinky, but maybe I’m so vanilla myself that I think this is a kink.
I lick my lips, wondering what he’ll do next…

Oh Captain, My Captain! I love Captain! He’s the big, strong, uber alpha that I’ve come to expect from Alexa Riley.

We met Paige in Mal’s story. And Ryan aka Captain. But now you get to hear their story. Plus a continuation of Mal & Oz’s story. Paige has worked for the security company for years now and has dealt with Captain America and had all sorts of fun torturing him. Ryan’s decided Paige needs to know she’s his and always has been.

You don’t have to read Everything For Her first, but just so you know the backstory, you should. The -.5 stars was because it took me a bit to get into it but that could be me or the stupid cold I have.

After she was gone, I walked over to the windows and drank in the scene. The Town Center was high enough that it had an unblocked view of downtown Manhattan, Brooklyn, and beyond.

I opened my mouth to say something, but nothing came out. I wasn’t even sure how to breathe anymore.

He broke our gaze to nod out the window at the skyline, walking toward me as he said, “I’m sure you found the Empire.”

Though his focus was now on the scenery, I didn’t take my eyes off him as he approached. He didn’t stop until he was right beside me. So close our shoulders would touch if I coughed. Tension ran off him like foam spilling over from a mug of beer. Good tension. Bad tension. I wasn’t sure if there was a difference when it came to Donovan.

Which was why I was screwed if he was here.

Why the hell was he here?

“I thought you were in Tokyo.” I couldn’t stop staring at him. He’d gotten more refined with age, and rougher at the same time. His hair was short and his curls gone, giving him a polished look he lacked before. The lines by his eyes were more defined and his expression seemed harder than I’d remembered. It made him sexier.

As if he was a man who needed to be sexier than the one I knew.

“I came back two months ago,” he said offhandedly. “That’s it right there.” He leaned his face in close to mine as he pointed to the famous structure. “Do you see it?”

Oh this story. I couldn’t decide if I was going to laugh, cry, yell or scream as I read it. There were probably a little of every reaction actually.

Grace has spent 20 years on Trent Hennington and she’s no closer to a full commitment than she was 20 years ago when they were kids! So Grace makes the tough yet admirable decision to put herself first and breaks it off with Trent. She’s going to find someone who wants what she wants and will give her a commitment. Like maybe Cooper.

Trent loves Grace, he really does. He just doesn’t know how to express it and now that he’s figured it out, Grace leaves him. And word is that she’s going to go out with Cooper who has always wanted something more with Grace.

This story is just amazing and you truly feel for everything Grace, Trent and their whole families go through.

Once Jesse shows up, I can leave and be on my way home.

To my wicked cats.

And Tapper, the three-footed wonder dog.

Not three-legged. He has all four legs, but lost his back left paw as a puppy. Best idea of what happened is he got it stuck in a door. Or some evil human slammed it in a door. A simple amputation and he’s been as good as gold ever since. Now he’s about four years old. With his flat brown coat and soulful dark eyes, he could be anything from a lab to a boxer mix.

I pull out my phone to check the time. I’ve only been gone two hours.

Tapper will be fine for another couple of hours without being let out. He’s the man in charge of the house and will keep the cats from executing their plans of mass destruction. One time I came home to my apartment and he’d locked them both in the bathroom. I’m still not sure how he managed to get the dynamic duo of evil in there and shut the door behind them, but he stood guard, smugly thumping his tail.

He’s a true wonder dog.

I pull up the video app and switch it on. Whoever created nanny and security cameras probably didn’t imagine us crazy pet people would use them to spy on our fur babies while we’re away.

The living room camera shows Tapper snoozing on the back of the sofa in a pool of sunshine. My sweet boy.

Fred is sitting in the kitchen sink.

Please don’t let him be using it as a litter box.

I make a note to buy bleach on my way home.

No sign of George.

I flip to the bedroom camera.

Nothing.

Switching back to the living room, I shriek. A close up of George’s anus greets me, up close and personal.

My cat is mooning me.

“That little fu—” I fumble my phone while trying to close the app.

“This seat free?”

I blink up at the voice. A Norse god stands before me, gesturing to one of my coveted empty chairs.

“—cker,” I finish swearing about George. The word comes out sounding like sure.

Full disclosure, I’ve not read any of the previous books. I didn’t need to but I SO want to. Each of these couples has such a great story and I need to know all about them. You get enough of their stories without there being missed stories or jokes.

Before Beth starts the internship of her dreams, she’s going to have herself a one night stand. And she finds the perfect man in a bar away from her hometown. Things are going GREAT until his “girlfriend” shows up. Beth doesn’t need that and leaves.

Maverick is being sent back to an internship to prove he’s serious about the business. How funny is it when the girl he almost went home with is one of the other interns he’s supposed to compete against?

This story is great because you can imagine going out and picking up a one night stand and it being someone you least expect it to be.
