Blog Tour & Review ~ Rock My Body ~ by ~ Lee Piper

Title: Rock My Body (A Mondez Novel, 2)
Author: Lee Piper
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: June 3, 2017
Publisher: Evernight Publishing

Rabid Readers Book Blog – “And boy was this book hot! I had to reread a few lines. I had a blast getting lost in this story.”

Twenty-two year old Riley Sears promises herself never to fall in love unless it is with a guy who is long-term boyfriend material. She is not crazy, her psychologist reassures her of that, but when faced with situations she cannot control… Well. Her anxiety skyrockets.

Enter Dominic Mondez, the hottest creature ever to grace pecs and abs. The notorious playboy propositions Riley with the best sex of her life—his words. However, after learning he never sleeps with the same woman twice, Riley’s decision becomes remarkably simple.

No. Way. In. Hell.

Sadly, traversing the murky waters of friends without benefits is far from simple, especially since Dominic is the lead guitarist of local rock band, Mondez. He is also tempestuous, a womanizer, and—even worse—inexplicably jealous. Dominic is bad for Riley in every possible way. Bad, bad, bad.

If only her body would listen.

He was watching me, I could feel it. My body sensed him long before my head did and started tingling. Everywhere.

Fuck.
Just the thought of him made my heart pound. Traitorous thing. It merrily rammed against my ribcage as soon as I pictured his tall, muscular body and dishevelled, russet hair. My fingers itched to reach out and delve through the soft strands—they remembered what it felt like to tug down on them as he groaned into my open mouth—but I shifted in my seat and sat on them instead. I wasn’t going down that road again, hell no. I was done.

D.O.N.E.

A low chuckle cut through the muted sounds of heavy rock music emanating from inside, its gravely sound resonating with my downstairs department, causing a deep blush to stain my cheeks.

Clearly, I wasn’t fooling anyone.

What in the name of sweet baby Jesus is he even doing here?

I tried so hard to focus on what Sebastian was saying. Thankfully, he held up his end of the conversation despite my unexpected inability to formulate any words. We’d been sitting together for a while without a single awkward pause so I nodded, smiled, and even laughed when required. To be fair, it was a pretty decent pick-up attempt. Well, until he showed up.
Blue eyes burned my skin. You don’t own me, you don’t own me, you don’t—
I swallowed, steeled myself and then glanced across at him.

Own me.

Dominic was leaning against the wall, his black, button-down shirt almost bursting at the seams. I blamed those insanely strong pecs and biceps. Honestly, they were huge. And the way his dark blue jeans hung enticingly low off narrow hips… Well. It should be illegal. He was going to give someone—AKA me—a cardiac arrest if he wasn’t careful.

I shook my head. With a bottle of beer in one hand and a buxom blonde in the other— this one looked nastier than most—the guy was the physical embodiment of everything I despised. Truly.

If only my body would listen.

Raising the drink to full, kissable lips, he tipped his head back, piercing gaze still locked on me. He then wiped his mouth with the back of his hand, a flicker of emotions I couldn’t identify crossing his face when he noticed my breath catch.

The girl must have registered his distraction too because she started rubbing herself up against him like an overly aroused limpet. Gross. He broke contact with me and looked down at her, a dark smile tugging his lips. After murmuring something in her ear and slapping her on the behind, she giggled. I looked away, that familiar painful knot forming in my stomach once more.

Damn you, Dominic Mondez. Damn you to hell.

blue_review

First, I love when women have the name Riley. And the name Dominic.

Second, you need to read Rock My World first. It runs concurrently as Rock My Body but you get one of the couple’s stories and in this book you get Riley and Dominic’s.

Riley has a weakness for bad boys and Dominic is the baddest of bad boys. He’s only interested in 1-time only hookups and Riley won’t do those any more, regardless of how much she’s hot for Dominic. And Dominic really wants to be with Riley but only for one night. But he will try to stick with being friends. Even if it’s not in his nature to do so.

Riley is just as determined to stay out of Dominic’s bed as he is determined to get her there. A great story for people who like the NA rockstar romance genre.

I LOVE the Montgomery’s! And Storm is just amazing! Everly was married to Storm’s best friend Jackson, who died suddenly over 3 years ago. Storm said he would look after Everly and her twin sons except they’ve sort of grown apart. Storm determines that he’s going to be there for Everly and the boys, especially when they’re having some issues. Everly loved Jackson but she’s grateful for Storm’s help and for the Montgomery family.

I need to go back and read all the other books because I love the Montgomery Family and Carrie Ann Ryan’s writing!

When I found an eviction notice taped on my apartment door, I had two options: find a comfortable cardboard box to call home, or move in with Tucker Jameson.
Seeing that cardboard makes me feel itchy, I chose the latter. Which shouldn’t be that big of a deal since Tucker is one of my good friends. And because he’s still pining after his ex-girlfriend and I’m trying to finish my nursing degree, there is nothing to worry about in the romance department, making my last semester an easy one to conquer.
Boy, was I wrong.
Rules are set, dinners are made, conversations are had, and a shirtless, swoony roommate walks around in nothing but a pair of black briefs, ruining me for every other man.
Before I know it, I turn into a panting, lust-filled woman begging for Tucker to kiss me, touch me, and show me exactly what is hiding under those briefs.
But with great orgasms, comes great consequences.
Tucker might be my friend and roommate but he’s also my best friend’s ex-boyfriend, making him completely off-limits. At least that’s what my brain is telling me, my heart is speaking an entirely different language.

After Co-Wrecker, I sort of felt bad for Tucker so I’m glad he got his HEA. Even though we weren’t supposed to like Tucker in CW, but I did. And Emma. Emma is a crack up. I have the utmost respect for nurses and nursing students so more power to her for doing it and trying to find a place to live when you’re unexpectedly evicted with a week’s notice.

Tucker to Emma’s rescue, even if they haven’t talked in a while and she’s his ex’s best friend. But they were friends first and can be friends again. And they are. They have a great roommate coexistence and I love it. I love that Tucker and Emma were both able to get past everything and just be themselves and enjoy getting to be friends again – and more.

I kinda hope Adalyn and Racer get a story. Or Adalyn and Smalls. I could see that happening….

Love is timeless…

Nash Nation loves zeroes and ones, over-sized monitors and late office hours. He’s too busy taking over the world to make time for relationships—that is, until his new neighbor Willow O’Bryant barges into his life, and now Nash can’t shake the feeling that this isn’t the first time she’s interrupted his world.

Then, the dreams start. And in the dreams—memories.

Memories of a girl named Sookie who couldn’t count on love or friendship, never mind forever. Memories of a library and a boy called Isaac and secrets made in private that destroyed his world.

The memories seem real, but who do they belong to?

When Nash and Willow discover the truth, life as they know it unravels.

The bridge between this life and the next is shored up by blood and bone and memory. Sometimes, that bridge leads to the place we’ve always wanted to be.

It was then that I saw something from Isaac I hadn’t seen before. His stony resolve crumbled and whatever excuses had always kept him from wanting me, from allowing me to act as though I wanted him too, fell away when he began to lower his hand and I held it still against my cheek.

His skin was warm and I could just make out the sharp bite of his calluses against my face. He had an arch along his top lip and eyes like a perfect circle, a play of amber and gold vying for dominance in his irises. Not hazel really, but somewhere in the middle, someplace that said Isaac came from people divergent and varied.

“Riley…” he said, a warning I didn’t want to hear. My gaze didn’t falter; I may have stumbled with Trent, but still, I knew what I wanted, what was best for me, and that was not some overbearing, suit-wearing bully. And Isaac, sweet Isaac, took my lifted chin for the invitation it was, made a sound deep in his throat, and just like that, with a single tilt of his head, stopped fighting and kissed me.

The world went away and I heard the song of hundreds of voices inside of me that sounded so familiar, yet were unlike anything I’d ever heard before. Maybe it was that active imagination of mine working in overdrive. I had wanted Isaac’s touch for months, had daydreamed about it for hours and now that it was here, I realized that my imagination was dull and pathetic. Reality was so much better.

He moved his mouth over mine, tentative at first, but fueled by my reaction and the awesome magnitude of what this felt like, he moved more confidently, more surely. Isaac wanted me and took what I offered freely—his lips soft, directing, his tongue teasing and satisfying all at once, careful of my broken lip yes, but oh, so absolute.

Eden Butler is an editor and writer of Mystery, Suspense and Contemporary Romance novels and the nine-times great-granddaughter of an honest-to-God English pirate. This could explain her affinity for rule breaking and rum.
When she’s not writing or wondering about her possibly Jack Sparrowesque ancestor, Eden patiently waits for her Hogwarts letter, edits, reads and spends way too much time watching rugby, Doctor Who and New Orleans Saints football.

She is currently living under teenage rule alongside her husband in southeast Louisiana.

Blog Tour & Review ~ Only With Me ~ by ~ Kelly Elliott

only-with-me_smashLife was great.

I loved my bachelor life and working my dream job with the Colorado Springs SWAT team.

That all changed the day I stepped into her bakery. Her smile swept me off my feet, and her panna cotta was heaven.

Cue my very traditional Greek family.

Then all hell broke loose.

The woman I was falling in love with was Italian, and my mother was hell-bent on proving to the world she was the better cook.

If my meddling family wasn’t bad enough, for the last six years Gabi had been on the run from a past she tried desperately to escape from.

Between a beautiful woman on the run, and a crazy family constantly in my business, would I be able to show her I’m the only one who can keep her safe … or will her past steal her away from me?

iBooks

My eyes swung over to look at my mother standing there with my aunt Maria and Aunt Agnes.

“Shit,” I whispered.

“Oh God. This is not happening. This is it!” Gabi exclaimed as she covered her mouth.

I placed my hands on her shoulders and leaned in closer. In a whispered voice, I asked, “What is wrong?”

Her eyes met mine. “This is her challenge! I thought it was that day in the bakery. That was a merely a test! She’s here to take me down!”

I laughed. “My mother is not here to take you down.”

She slowly shook her head and asked, “How did she know?”

Then we both turned to look at Liza. She took a step away. “You didn’t.”

Liza’s eyes were everywhere. Me, my mother, back to Gabi, back to my mother. “I might have mentioned it that day in the bakery when she was there. But she saw the registration form and asked if you had entered! I didn’t know I wasn’t supposed to say.”

“Nicholaus, don’t be rude. Introduce your Gabriella to your Aunt Maria and Aunt Agnes.”

Gabi took in a slow deep breath before turning and facing my mother and aunts.

With my hand on her back, we walked closer. “Mama, this is a surprise to see you here.”

She looked taken aback. “Why? I love to cook, this is a cooking competition. Why wouldn’t I be here?”

“Because you’ve never entered one before.”

The three of them laughed. “Please. Your mama has won more cooking competitions than anyone in this room.”

Gabi swayed, and I tightened my grip on her.

When my mother turned to look at Gabi, she wore a wide smile. “So, with you being a part of our family, I want to make sure you come in second so I’ve brought you some help.”

Oh for shits sake.

“Help?” Gabi asked with a strained voice.

And before our eyes appeared my cousins Sophia and Angie, and just when I didn’t think it could get worse, cousin Maria walked up carrying a giant bag with some rat looking dog in it.

“Um, I don’t think you can have a dog in here,” Liza said.

Everyone turned and looked at cousin Maria. “Are you shitting me? I don’t go anywhere without my Nikky.”

“Gabriella, this is Aunt Maria and Aunt Agnes.”

Gabi reached her hand out to theirs.

“Ahh! You made it!” my mother called out as her best friend came walking up. I couldn’t help but groan.

“Gabriella, this is my very dear friend, Maria.”

I didn’t think Gabi could look any more confused. “Oh, um, another Maria! That’s a lot of Maria’s under one roof.” They all stared at her like they didn’t get it.

They fucking got it.

“All right, well now that the gang is here, Mama you should be heading on over to your station.”

“You’re not coming over there with me?”

Gabi’s head jerked to the side to look at me. Oh shit. What the hell do I do?

I did the only thing I knew to do. I looked for guidance from Liza. My eyes were wide as she motioned to Gabi.

Right. Right. I needed to stay with Gabi.

“Well, Mama, I was planning on helping Gabi and being here for moral support with this being her first competition and all.” Gabi glared at me.

Shit, what did I do now?

Then my mother turned back to Gabi. “First, huh?” My heart dropped in my chest. That’s why Gabi shot me a dirty look. “Well, I better let you get going then. Good luck.”

With a full-on smile, Gabi nodded. “Thanks! You too. And may the best cook win.”

Tossing her head back and laughing before looking back at Gabi, my mother said, “Oh, I will.”

TBRreview

This book kept me entertained the whole way through! Nic is a SWAT member and 100% Greek. Imagine My Big Fat Greek Wedding but if Toula was a man. And that gives you an idea of Nic’s family. Even down to the point where his mom is constantly comparing other nationalities as “Greek without <something>” like Toula’s dad does. I don’t know if Greek families are truly like that but they are in this book. And I love them!

Gabi is a baker, has her own bakery, when Nic and some of his coworkers come in to her business. Nic can barely keep his cool and Gabi can’t either. Gabi is 100% (ish) Italian so Nic knows his mom won’t approve but he can’t seem to care because Gabi is it. Even though Nic knows Gabi has a secret. Gabi loves Nic but truly can’t tell him her deepest, darkest secret.

I loved this story and Nic and I hope there’s more of the Drivas family!

The Line Full Jacket

The Line by Amie Knight

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Publication Date: May 23rd

I was a thief.

The invisible girl only he could see.

The woman who wanted to be more.

He was the mark.

The extraordinary cowboy who stole my sixteen-year-old heart.

The damaged man who still owned it, even four years later.

The Line was where we began.

Where fates collided.

Where truths derailed.

The place where our love story ends.

Excerpt:

How could it be so damn hot at seven in the morning? I wasn’t sure, but it was. Even in a thin tank, cut-off shorts, and my boots, I was melting. I stood at the top of a ladder Cole had placed against a tree so that we could reach the peaches up top. I used the rubber band on my wrist and tied my hair into a knot at the top of my head, hoping that it helped.

Cole climbed up behind me on the ladder and stood a couple of rungs below, but still, he towered over my small frame.

“Okay?” he asked.

“Yep,” I answered, even though I wasn’t okay. He was so close, and that familiar earthy, smoke smell I loved almost as much as rocky road invaded my senses.

“Good.” He looked at the peaches. “Alrighty. You see the ones that have that pink color?” He motioned to a cluster of fruit in front of us.

I nodded, trying not to breathe in too much. Because Jesus, he smelled delicious.

“Those look ripe and done. The paler ones behind them don’t look ready yet.”

I nodded again, and Cole grabbed my hand. He pressed his fingers in, wrapping both of our hands around a peach. He pushed the tips of his fingers into mine at the top of the fruit, near the stem.

“Feel the give, how it feels soft there?”

I squeezed my fingers around the stem again without his help and said, “Yep. Feels softer there.”

He smiled down at me. “Good. That’s also a sign it’s ripe for picking. But be gentle. They bruise easily.”

Cole’s front pressed closer to my back, and I shivered. The way Cole taught me to do things here was pure torture. It was also outright ecstasy. I lived for these moments as much as I loathed them. Because the man was a damn tease. He’d sent me back to the big house a sweaty, panting mess more times than I could count, my panties drenched.

He gently squeezed our hands around the peach and twisted and pulled. The peach came free, my tiny hand gripped it and his big, rough hand wrapped around mine. He brought our hands to my face and pressed the peach closer to my nose.

“How does it smell?” he asked in my ear.

I wanted to say, “I don’t know. I can’t smell a damn thing but your smoke and leather, and I don’t want to.”

Instead, I closed my eyes. I pressed my nose right up against the peach and concentrated on the smell.

“Sweet,” I said, my eyes still closed.

Our hands moved, and I felt the peach at my lips. My heart hammered and fire raced across my skin, and it had absolutely nothing to do with the weather.

Cole positioned himself even closer, and it seemed, in that moment, that every breath he took sucked up every bit of air in the atmosphere.

My own breath quickened, and a growl rumbled low in Cole’s chest.

“Taste it,” he whispered in my ear, his lips so close that I was sure he could taste me on them.

I opened my mouth and wrapped my lips around the fruit, the fuzzy skin tickling my lips. I bit down, and that rumble I heard from Cole made an appearance again. I moaned as I pressed my teeth to the fruit, the juicy sweetness of the peach sliding over my tongue.

“So good,” I groaned as Cole pulled our hands and the peach back. A little juice rolled down my chin and I attempted to lift my free hand to wipe it.

“I got it,” Cole said, brushing his hand over my chin, slowly picking the juice up with his finger, and ever-so-Goddamn-enticingly placing his finger in his mouth before sucking it clean like it was the best thing he’d ever put in his mouth.

“Delicious,” he said, his hooded eyes on mine as he popped his finger out of his mouth.

And fuck me. I swayed on that ladder, my own eyes closing as I willed my cowboy to kiss me with every breath I took. I made myself only will this about once a day, so I thought I was doing pretty good.

He brought our hands holding the peach to his mouth. He wrapped his mouth around it, his lips brushing my fingers, and I felt it deep in my core. I pressed my thighs together and swallowed a moan.

“Perfect,” he said, staring into my eyes. He held my gaze for a moment more before shaking his head and letting my hand, which was still clasped around the peach, go. Then he stepped off the ladder like he hadn’t just made sweet, sweet love to that peach with his mouth right here in front of me.

I watched him walk off to another tree, place a ladder against it, and climb up like nothing in the world had happened. I kicked the rung of the ladder and turned back to the tree. Damn peach molester.

“O.M.G., O.M.G.! Just finished U-Turn. Holy freaking sh*t, I don’t have words at the moment… or breath!!! So I’m pretty sure Leaona Luxx is getting to insert an evil laugh or two at this very moment…”

“I told Lea I wasn’t sure about this book. I wasn’t sure I could read a story about someone I hated sooo much. I should have had faith, she said it was going to be worth it. It was… And more so. I had tears just waterfalling down at the end.”

TROUBLE.

That’s all she is and all she’ll ever be.

What in the hell was I thinking getting involved with her?

Everyone knows her reputation precedes her.

But I’ll be damned if I don’t like it.

Hurricane Ava crashes to shore wreaking havoc, the beautiful disaster she is.

And I love it.

What’s worse, she does too.

So, why am I in love with her? Because, she loves me.
She just doesn’t know it yet.

I find myself halfway home when I do a U-turn. I hit the gas, speeding toward Myrtle Beach. My tears fall once again as I think of him leaving and I’m not the last person he sees. I need to be the last thing he sees. The fissure my heart has suffered begins to quake as I pray I make it back to him.

I park at the airport entrance, racing through every checkpoint I can before actually yelling, “He’s leaving. I have to tell him I love him.” The airport officials have mercy on me when I explain he’s a soldier and I’m crazy for him. “He may not make it back, he’s deploying.”

Pointed in the right direction, I sprint to his departure gate. His family standing close by the window, I know then he’s already boarded. I push past several onlookers to the wide expanse of glass standing between us.

I search, switching between his family and the plane, to gauge where he will be. My chest constricts as I get a glimpse of him for the first time in fatigues. He’s breathtaking. As my pride swells, I lay my hand on the window, reaching for him.

I begin to lose hope when his eyes suddenly dart to me. A smile growing on his face as I fight to dry mine. The plane begins to roll, and I follow it, never moving my hand from the clear barrier. When Riley raises his hand, pressing it against the glass, I fall to my knees.

My eyes never leave his face nor does my hand break our connection. I stay there as he taxi’s down the runway and lifts off. Leaving me. I push against the glass with both hands, hoping beyond all things I could break it and run after him.

I sit against the window, clutching my chest as if my heart has fallen from it until Walker picks me up from the floor. He carries me from the building, my life in ashes. Walker sits with me until I regain some semblance of composure. I’m not ever far from plummeting over the edge again.
