“I couldn’t set it down!!” – 5 Star Amazon review

Breathe in, breathe out. This mantra gets Tessa Benson through the day.

The man she loves walks all over her, and she just wants to get by without her heart shattering to pieces. If she could find her voice, she’d scream.

Everything changes in one night, when she’s snatched from the streets and tied to a bed, a camera set up to capture her dying moment. And the person who paid to watch her die…is still out there somewhere.

Tessa prowls dark neighborhoods in a quest for justice, but she doesn’t find the killer. Not until they strike again…in the place Tessa is least expecting, and where it hurts worst.

Blindly, I run across the lot. As I round the corner, I run smack into someone as they are coming the opposite direction.

“Tessa? Are you okay?”

I glance up through the stream of tears to see a blurry image of Gerald. “No, no. I just want to go home.” I push off his chest and stumble backward, then turn and flee the opposite direction without saying a word, ignoring Gerald’s plea of confusion as the distance between us widens. I pray he won’t follow. I just want to get away from this place.

I keep running until I’m at least a few blocks away. Winded, fatigued, and little sick to my stomach, I stop. I lean against the wall of a building, taking in sharp gasps of air, and look around. Thankfully, Gerald didn’t follow. Where am I? Terin. I left Terin back at the club. I can’t go back there. I’ll have to call her and let her know I’ve gone home. She’ll be fine.

My phone? Where is my phone? It was in my handbag. I had my handbag when I left the club with Tom. Shit. It must be in his car. Fear, pain, shame, anger, guilt, all well up tight within my chest and rise until I feel as if I will go mad. I run my fingers through my hair and cry so hard I start to gag again. I want to puke. Get that man out of me. Get him out!

“Can I help you? Are you okay?”

Startled, I spin around. The man from the library is standing at the corner, maybe fifteen feet away. My crying wanes as muddled thoughts spin around in my mind, trying to make sense of it all. Why is he here? Did he follow me from the club? His brow is pinched with a look of concern. He takes a step forward. “Are you okay?”

My knees and hands are trembling violently. “I’m…I’m fine.” I drag both hands across my face, swiping away the tears.

He takes another step forward. “Are you sure? You seem upset. Are you ill?”

I take a step back. I don’t want any further interaction tonight. I’ve had more than enough. All I want to do is go home. And this guy…he seems friendly, but he freaks me out. “No, really. I’m fine. I’m just on my way home.”

Another step forward. “Do you need a ride?”

Another step back. Why won’t anyone listen to me? “No. I’m fi…”

Something is pulled over my head from behind. The world is dark and muffled. I scream. Hands go around my waist. My arms arc outward, side to side, hoping to hit anything in my path. What is happening? Fear, stark and white, drains the blood from my head to my toes. I’m dizzy.

Voices bark out sharp orders but I’m flailing about and screaming so I can’t make out what they’re saying. Another set of hands grab my legs and pull them out from under me so now I’m being carried by two men…one by my waist and the other by my legs. I writhe and twist. I have to get out of this. I need to get away. What is happening? My breath plumes in and out in short, hot gasps inside the small bag over my head. Claustrophobia flares up. A stronger wave of panic follows. I’m…going…to pass…out.

She loves him. She loves him not.

When Cassandra Porter was seven years old, she fell in love with her next door neighbor and her best friends brother. Cass loved that boy every single day…until he broke her heart and all that remained were the pieces.

She drives him the good kind of crazy.

Paxton Luke led his life with one thing on his mind: success. Friends and family come first, with no room for emotional attachments—not even with the neighbor girl, who’s turned into a complete knockout. His sister’s best friend. Emotions only lead to love, and love was trouble.

Title: Full Count
Series: Westland University Series
Author: Lynn Stevens
Genre: NA Sports Romance
Release Date: June 19, 2017
Anyone who says they’re having the worst day hasn’t met me. My girlfriend cheated, I blew out my knee, and probably trashed my chance of going pro. All in one day. Then my jerk professor tells I’m almost on academic probation.

Awesome. Now I get to find a tutor.

Enter Mallory Fine, quiet, a little intense, and my kind of gorgeous. Who also happens to hate baseball and any guy who plays it.

Hello, curiosity.

I tell myself this will be nothing more than a tutoring relationship. I’m a liar. I want this girl. How hard can her secrets be to unravel? It might be a challenge, but so is getting back on the ball field and I’m determined to make that happen—no matter the cost.

“Hey,” I said, drawing her attention back to me.

She tried to soften her expression, but her eyes darted back to the game. “I just wanted to apologize for earlier. One of the freshmen had a meltdown that would rival Three Mile Island.”

“Three mile what?” I asked, searching my brain and coming up empty. “Wait isn’t that an Eminem song?”

“Dr. Monroe was right, you didn’t pay attention in class today.” She shook her head as a grin lifted her cheeks.

Mallory: What makes you think I’m reading anything?

I chuckled quietly.

Me: Just a hunch.

Mallory: Don’t judge me, but it’s a romance.

Me: A romance? Let me guess, a hot teacher falls for a sexy baseball player?

Mallory: It’s not a book of advice.

Shaking off the feeling of disappointing my father again, I took my computer out of my bag and powered up. The first email I saw was from MFine. I laughed at Mallory’s last name. She was pretty fine with that pixie face and hair a guy could get lost in. I opened it and smiled.

Dear Mr. Betts,

I hope you made it back to campus without any problems. We will meet in the library on the third floor by the microfiche. Nobody uses those except history majors and the area is always quiet. I’d like to meet on Mondays at three, Wednesdays at five, and Fridays at three. Our sessions will go no longer than an hour and a half; although I doubt we will need that entire time. Most of my tutoring sessions only last an hour, but I always schedule in extra time in case we hit a particularly difficult stretch. If these times are not going to work for you, please let me know immediately.

Sincerely,
M. Fine

I hit respond, amused by her formality. It was like talking to a character out of one of Chelsea’s silly historical romances. Not that I would know anything about that. Okay, not that I’d ever admit to reading one. Once.

Dear Ms. Fine,

Those times are acceptable. For now. In a few weeks, I’ll start physical therapy so we may need to make adjustments depending on the doctor. Is there anything you want me to bring to the sessions?

Sincerely,
Aaron #4
I waited less than a minute for a response.

Dear Mr. #4,

Bring your books and your brain.
Leave your brain, and we may need the entire hour and a half.
Mallory

Moving back home to my parents’ cattle ranch in Texas was the last thing I thought I’d be doing.

But, here I stand … in front of my high school girlfriend. A beautiful, confident woman has replaced the young girl I once knew and loved. Hell. I’m still in love with her.

Yep. Paxton Monroe was my first love and the one girl in town who now hated my guts. So much so, Paxton swore her revenge on me if it took her until the day she died. The last words she spoke to me were a vow to cut my dick off and shove it down my throat.

The fight between my heart, my head, and last, but certainly not least, my dick starts tonight. Because all I can think about is how I want to be buried so deep inside Paxton she won’t remember how I broke her heart, or how I left her when she needed me the most.

But who will win? My heart is too broken to listen to my head. And my dick, yeah it’s not listening to anything or anyone. Not until it gets what it wants and what it wants is Paxton Monroe.

“Whatcha doing?”
I nearly jumped out of my skin as I spun around and clutched at my chest.
“Jesus, Amelia! Why would you sneak up on me like that?”
She tried to hide her smile and failed. Lifting her brows, she glanced past my shoulder. “Were you watching Steed and Chloe?”
My cheeks heated. “What? No! Are they here? I haven’t seen them. Why would you say that?”
When her eyes moved back to mine, I knew she saw right through my blunder of lies. “Uh-huh. I know I was little when you and Steed dated, so we really don’t know each other all that well.” She smiled. “But I can already tell you’re a terrible liar, Paxton.”
I dropped my head then peeked up at her. “I wasn’t spying.”
Amelia held up her hands. “I didn’t say you were.”
Chewing on my lip, I sighed. “Okay. I was spying. I’m lost, Amelia.”
With a soft sympathetic grin, she glanced at her brother. “So is he, Paxton. His eyes are so sad. Earlier this morning we all had breakfast together as a family and both Mom and I noticed it.”
“The family was all together?” I asked.
She nodded with a grin. “The boys have been working the ranch the last two days so they’re all staying at the house. It’s been nice having Steed home again. Dad’s thrilled he’s back and digging deeper into the business side of the ranch. The idea of having another son run day-to-day operations has him all kinds of happy.”
Guilt hit me square in the chest. It was my fault he left. I told him to leave.
He left his family and stayed away because of me.
“I’m so sorry he left town,” I said.
“Paxton, you didn’t keep him away all those years. That was his decision. A poor one, but his nonetheless.”
I shrugged. Turning, I glanced back at Steed and Chloe. “He’s such a good father.”
The sadness in my voice caused Amelia to put her hand on my shoulder and gave it a squeeze.

TBRreview

I love the Parker family!!! And little Chloe. She’s so stinking adorable!!

10 years ago, Steed and Paxton were destined to be together. They were going to graduate high school and head to college together and live happily ever after. Until events made that impossible and Paxton hated Steed and vowed to hurt him if she ever saw him again.

Fast forward 10 years and Steed has just moved home and Paxton still can’t stand him. How did their everlasting love end up not lasting?

This was a sweet book, funny at times, hot A LOT, sad at times and just an all-around good book. The Parker family siblings are so funny and even when they tease each other, they’re still there to have each others’ backs.

I can’t wait for the next one!

5 stars!

Series: Bad Boy Homecoming

TBRsynopsis

Jake Davis had it all in high school—a scholarship to his college of choice, a promising football career, and the gorgeous prom queen for a girlfriend. And then he lost it all when he was injured right after graduation. Ten years later, he’s mostly made his peace with that, and now runs a company that provides women with dates for special events. Imagine his surprise when he discovers that the ex who left him in the dust needs a fake boyfriend for their high school reunion…

Jessica Jackson used to be the mean girl to end all mean girls. But life didn’t turn out like she’d thought it would, and now she’s twenty-eight, single, and works as an insurance agent to A-listers instead of being the A-lister like she’d always dreamed. She can’t go back to her hometown and admit just how thoroughly she’s failed, so she lets her friends set her up with a fake date for the reunion.

The second Jessica realizes that her fake date is Jake, she tries to call the whole thing off. The problem is the chemistry between them is even hotter now than it was when they were teenagers. Against her better judgment she lets herself get drawn into Jake’s arms again—and into his bed. But time doesn’t heal all wounds—sometimes, it actually makes them worse—and if Jessica and Jake can’t learn to forgive each other, their second chance might not last the weekend.

Jake sees Jessie’s application for a date and decides he needs to get reacquainted with his ex. Plus find out why she’s applying for a date rather than bringing a boyfriend or husband to their reunion.

Add in Jessie’s helicopter mom constantly critiquing her and Jessie seeing all these people whose lives she made hell. And then her ex is her date.

Blog Tour & Review ~ Diablo ~ by ~ Chiah Wilder

Title: Diablo
Series: Night Rebels MC #3
Author: Chiah Wilder
Genre: MC Romance (can be standalone)
Release: June 20, 2017

Diablo, Sergeant-At-Arms of the Night Rebels MC, doesn’t chase women the way his fellow brothers do. Women flock to the ripped, bearded, tatted biker, but he pushes them away.

His past haunts him and rage burns deep inside him. His only focus is the club, his Harley, and his shots of whiskey. He doesn’t want a woman messing with his life. He doesn’t trust them.

Then he sees her. Her hazel eyes reflect sadness and regret. He’s drawn to the loneliness that fills her up—it haunts him.

She’s his employer’s daughter. He knows he should stay away from her, but he can’t. He wants to take her in his arms and protect her, but she won’t even talk to him.

Diablo’s not the type to give up. He wants her, and he’ll do everything he can to make her his.

Fallon Richardson can’t stand a man’s touch. Ever since her mother left her when she was a young girl, she’s been living in hell. Her father is the kingpin in illegal underground fighting. She tries to make herself inconspicuous so the men won’t notice her and the women won’t make fun of her, but it never works.

She hates being at the fights, but her father demands her presence.

Then she sees him across the room. His penetrating stare pulls her in no matter how hard she resists.

The tall, muscled man stirs feelings in her she has shut off for years. Her body wants him, yet, she can’t give herself to him. Men are cruel, animalistic, and not to be trusted. But the tattooed man has a softness beneath his rough exterior that speaks to her.

Then shadows from years ago emerge from the darkness, and soon Fallon doesn’t know who to trust. Her world is turned upside down, and she fears not only for her sanity but for her life.

Can Diablo and Fallon gain each other’s trust in time for him to protect her?

The Night Rebels MC series are standalone gritty romance novels. DIABLO is Book Three in the series. This book contains violence, strong language, sexual assault (not graphic), and steamy/graphic sexual scenes. It describes the life and actions of an outlaw motorcycle club. HEA. No cliffhangers. 18+.

TBRreview.png

There are no people more suited to each other than Diablo and Fallon. They both have such eventful and dramatic pasts that they understand each other like no one else could. Diablo doesn’t chase women like most of the MC members. And Fallon tries hard to fit in to her world but just only ends up standing out more. She’s interested in Diablo but she can’t get past her fear of men touching her.

A great, deep story that was an amazing read from start to finish!

5 stars!

I haven’t read the first two books in the Sisters of Wishing Bridge Farm series but you don’t really need to in order to read Pepper’s story.  I will probably go back and read them just so I have the context of the stories/relationships.

Pepper has moved back home to help with her sisters’ weddings.  Or so she has said.  At least until Coop overhears the real impetus for her coming home.  Coop has had a crush on Pepper for years but is determined to get over it.  Except Pepper seems to be into him too but she’s planning to get out of town as quickly as possible because she does not want to be stuck there for any longer than she has to be there.

Title: Destiny
Series: Hilltops #1
Author: Faith Starr
Genre: Contemporary, BDSM-Lite, Suspense
Release Date: February 21, 2017
Publisher: Loose-ID

Blindfolds, bondage, board meetings. All in a day’s work for Noah Dorian, co-owner of Hilltops, an exclusive club for those who like a bit of spice.

Enter Jordin Turner, a psychology student who is doing research on the BDSM lifestyle.
Noah agrees to provide her with information via telephone but when she comes to the club for an observation, his world is turned upside down. Jordin is strong, confident, intelligent, and beautiful; traits he has never seen packaged together in a woman he likes this much. He’s always guarded his heart, but Jordin makes him want to open his heart and free himself from his demons.
Jordin has had her fair share of heartache, including an ex who made her doubt herself. Especially in the bedroom. Noah’s dominant nature gives her a chance to change that. His desire and his dominance help her break the chains that hold her back.
Noah and Jordin. Sometimes love is destiny.

“You don’t have to argue every point. I’m simply making my own observations.”

Why did his breath have to smell as good as the rest of him? It was almost hypnotic, if not tempting every fiber in my being to lean forward to see if he tasted as good as he smelled. Damn Noah Dorian.

“That’s supposed to be my job.” Oh my gosh. I sounded like a schoolgirl with a childhood crush, giggling stupidly.

“Yes, it is, but I’m having a rather good time doing your job too.”

“Why’re you doing this, Noah?” Confusion filled me. I was a little light-headed in addition to the other slew of symptoms having a field day inside me. He was pretty much suffocating me with his charm and good looks.

“All I’m doing is pointing out to you that you don’t always have to keep yourself so tightly wound. Sometimes it’s nice to let loose.”

“And what’re you implying?”

“I’m merely suggesting that you allow me to bring some of your curiosity to life.”

Say what? “You mean like mentor me in BDSM? Sorry, but I’m not a bow down, please and thank you, Sir, type of a woman.” Reality check! It was time to dodge this bullet. Unfortunately, it was somewhat impossible since he had me caged between his strong arms.

“I’m not so sure about that. Besides, you’ll never know unless you try.”

“I’m sorry if I’ve given you the wrong impression, Noah. I think maybe I should go.” I needed air. I needed to get out of this room. I needed Noah Dorian. That’s what I needed.

I couldn’t take it anymore. My dick could only behave for so long. My poor impulse control and I pushed her against the car, tasting those succulent lips again. Something I couldn’t stop thinking about. Luckily, her mouth voluntarily welcomed my tongue. I could only imagine what else it could do to her luscious body.

“Because I know you feel it too.”

Her eyes blinked several times as they stared into mine, her breaths jagged between her slightly parted lips. That was all the reassurance I needed to know she would be there on Saturday night.

I backed away and took her hand in mine, suddenly with more pep in my stride. I walked her to her car and made sure she got in safely, her wittiness taking a hike and replaced with desire. Her eyes had hunger in them, and I knew exactly how to feed it. This woman had no clue how fucking sexy she was. I intended to make that concept very well known to her.

She looked up at me and almost whispered her good-bye, her lips swollen and begging for more.

I leaned down and slid my hand into her hair, tilting her chin upward so I could have one more taste to hold me over until the weekend. To my surprise, she fisted my hair desperately. I planted a gentle kiss on her lips to find her almost panting when I pulled away. I released my hold on her and smiled. “Good night, Jordin.”

It took all the self-control I had to walk away after the kiss. My dick ached, wanting to blow, but it wasn’t something I couldn’t take care of later.

When she’s not managing her husband’s medical practice or taking care of her three kids, Faith Starr loves writing erotic romance fiction.

Faith is passionate about putting herself into the minds of her characters, giving them a life of their own with all of the emotions that go along with it. She is head over heels in love with each and every alpha male she creates and the confident women who steal their hearts.

Faith has found her passion writing in the romance genre. Creating heartfelt love stories has become key in giving her inner spirit the creative outlet it desires. She is a hopeless romantic, with a little spice, who truly believes in the “Once Upon a Time” and “Happily Ever After” ending.
